Initia

Petals of the Wind (Adriel & Sariah)

When he first came to Evermore, he didn’t know much about what the whole city was built upon. He initially thought they were just like any other cities in another side of the world. Where he came from, there weren’t a lot of people like him, at least not out in the open. Not like how it is in Evermore. But after a few months settling in the eternal city, Adriel realized how different it was compared to home. It has only been three months since the initia made the decision to move here with his sister and daughter, yet the flower shop he opened on behalf of his sister, had already gotten a jump in popularity. It seems that a lot of people were big fans of flowers.

“Seems like we’re quite popular nowadays, I didn’t know people in the modern day of the 21st century are big fans of flowers…” the cost to maintain them is not cheap either, it’s quite tedious so he was amazed. Yuna scoffed as she packed the bouquets, “I beg to differ, they order from us because they get to have personal deliveries from you, you know.” Adriel raised his eyebrow knowingly and chuckled “Sure, if that’s what you keep telling yourself. But isn’t that just a selling point? We do have beautiful and one-of-kind types of flowers” The initia took extreme pride to grow these plants, most of them were made from his creation in the first place, making good use of his earth abilities.

“You’re going to send another delivery to the office right?” He hummed softly in return and took a few of them with him as he loaded them up in the truck. He often went to the Organization to make his regular deliveries every week, every Tuesday specifically, and get the chance to see a particular person. He even stopped by the coffee shop nearby to pick up some nice lattes.

Adriel had a light chat with the security guard as he walked in with the flower arrangements. He didn’t even have to search for her, the sight of a blonde ponytail was all too familiar to him. “Good morning Sariah” he quipped with a smile.

Yuna always asked him why he was so eager to be the one doing the deliveries personally when he is also working at the same time. And every single time, he told her that his work is remote so he had the time to still do other things without it affecting his time allocated for his job. But really, that was just an excuse on his part. Adriel didn’t do all the flower deliveries personally, but he does for when it involves the Organisation and a certain blonde in presence. Only when she’s there to be the one to receive it. It’s the very reason why the initia also had a cup of coffee in his hand as well.

Before he departed, he made sure every flower was as vibrant as the receiver, and he even had a separate bouquet of flowers just for Sariah. He didn’t know when, but Adriel found himself always wanting to make the human ambassador smile. It was nothing too personal, but seeing her smile amidst all the hectic work seemed nice.

When Sariah came down to receive him, he grinned brightly, right, just the person he wanted to see. Before he could offer her the latte in his hand, he could help but to clear his throat and cough in response to her compliment given towards his sister “It’s not from Yuna, these sunflowers specifically are from me” he had to emphasize that he’s the one responsible to nurture all of these flowers personally. It’s important that she knows it.

“And for these-“ He took out a seperate basket for her, filled with sunflowers and a variety of similar ones that could not be found anywhere else because he made them, becoming an earth initia had its perks “-are for you. Specially curated by yours truly.”

She had a long week already and it was only the second day in, it seemed like she was constantly faced with hurdles at the organization lately, if it wasn’t some research coming out in a different way than they previously hoped, it was other people constantly getting in the way of them moving forward. The first part she could handled but the second part, the politics and dealing with others and their biased, had her exhausted.

So she was happy to see a friendly face who only ever greeted her with a smile and he had such a nice one. When he corrected her, telling her that he was the one who worked on the sunflowers she gave a soft smile “I stand corrected” she commented as she looked up at him “You must have worked hard…I mean it must take a lot of work to make these flowers grow, they’re so tall and they take up so much room, they’re like big suns…bright…” she commented before turning a little so she could admire the flowers again, she hoped they brightened up the aura in the office, they could use that.

She widened her eyes when he mentioned the basket, a gasp escaping her as they were the most beautiful, vibrant flowers she had ever seen “These are….beautiful…oh my gosh” her voice naturally went higher pitched without her trying because of her excitement “I didn’t order them though…you went to trouble for me…thank you” she glanced up at him for a moment and then she noticed he had two coffee cups set on the table.

“Trouble sleeping? Or maybe you’ve just had a long morning already? I swear I can’t do anything in the morning until I have caffeine, I’ve become one of those coffee zombie slaves who everyone should avoid before she has it…” she realized she was rambling and pressed her lips together in an apologetic smile.

Sariah Holloway. It’s been a few months since he moved to Evermore and when he saw the blonde for the first time while he was busy doing his usual deliveries for the Oragnisation, Adriel swore the world stopped. Save for the dramatics but the initia was sure he had a slight crush on the human ambassador, which was quite ironic given everything that’s happening.

Of all people, it had to be her, the most unapproachable person ever. Not that she helps her case that much, Sariah is great with people. She’s bright, she’s bubbly, she’s great, overall. “Was worth every effort to the end” he quipped sheepishly, he was glad that she could find beauty in the sunflowers. “Most people prefer the commercial ones, like roses. I mean there’s nothing wrong to go with roses but I feel like people just pick it for the sake of looking romantic without truly knowing what they meant to convey.”

To the initia, flowers are a whole language itself. Every single one screams something. “You didn’t have to” he exclaimed, in response to her surprise saying she didn’t order them. “It’s one of a kind… so it’s special.” When she noticed the two cups of coffee on the table, he chuckled “Actually, one of it is for you. And no, I sleep just fine, but I’m a coffee guy. Can’t do anything until I take a sip.” He took one of the lattes and offered it to her.

“The day seems slow…” He noticed there wasn’t much traffic and the staff didn’t seem to show up as much. “You sure you’re not alone inside that big building there?”
