Christmas Eve. A magical time of the year, or at least that's what everyone said. She felt it was a beautiful time, but very lonely when you could only share it between yourself. Clara lifted herself out of the bed she had slept in last night. The morning light was shining through the windows and she wondered what this Christmas Eve day would hold.
She started her day as she usually did, making her way through the routine, of dressing, eating a healthy breakfast and talking a walk, a brisk walk this time of the year. Then she got into her car and completed her shift at the nursing home she signed up for every Christmas Eve, She thought it was very important to give back this time of year.
Going into the car she realized, as she checked her list, she was missing a present, she made a turn at the next street and prepped herself for a very busy time of holiday shopping.
Upon entering the madness the thought of leaving crossed her mind, but she had to keep going. Clara walked through the crowded isles before making her way across a lovely purple scarf, a perfect gift for the person in mind, but once her hands were on it, another person also grabbed hold. Even though Clara was well-mannered and raised she didn't plan on letting go of this perfect gift. Too bad it was the last one.
