Humming to herself, she allowed her hazel hues glaze over the papers on the mahogany desk. There were a few books and files scattered around the desk too, making it quite messy for her, who’s a known perfectionist. She’s been going through the entire thing for two nights already, her mind never seemingly able to make up itself. Books on cardiothoracic surgery syllabus laid wide open for everyone who would come inside the room to see. She remember she stopped and bookmarked the page on esophageal surgeries and the other book on invasive treatment theories. It was just so like her to be studying things so deeply when she had nothing else to do. She recently got inducted as one of the transferred cardiothoracic surgeon from Milan. It was turning out well for her considering it was easier for her to keep an eye out for potential threats as a resident in Evermore General.

But the papers were nowhere near related to her medicinal and surgical field. It was information and literal biographies on the known Valkyr running around the globe. At least the ones that she could successfully track down. There were plenty of rogue ones living up to the bad side of their mythology and they’ve been handling it slowly but effectively. But even then, it wasn’t possible to eradicate every single troublemaker, even so when Celia herself found it hard to incarcerate them just like that despite them reserving a sentence over the matter. The Italian Valkyr understood just how pressured Gideon felt about such things and tried her best to ease the worries and woes regarding the rogue beasts. The recent file she went through had caught her eye: one Valkyr that has been in her head the whole night-- Yeonseok Lee. Now, what was so important and special about this Valkyr? Especially when there’s plenty of them residing in the eternal city.

Where to start with him? All she’s known was that the matter needed no more explanation. Celia kept an eye out for everyone, it’s her duty and hobby, honestly. But when it comes to the Korean Valkyr, it was no surprise that she held a certain soft spot for him, the same she had reserved for the Valkyrie himself. No one knew why, but like she stated before, most of what she does needed no explanation. It has been a little over 5 years but she still couldn’t forget that day. Closing her eyes briefly, she found herself reminiscing that tragic incident that embedded itself in the center of her cortex. A memory she couldn’t even forget even if she wanted to. What’s left for her to do now is to move on forward. But her heart wouldn’t allow her to rest just now, so she cleaned the mess on her table and grabbed her overcoat before exiting the room. That particular room inside the mansion had remained her workplace, no matter how comfortable it was to work from her own place near the borders of the city, there was something that kept her here.

Perhaps, it was the homey feeling and scent that unravelled the entire place. Yes, maybe that’s it. The feeling she’s always felt foreign towards even since birth. She had nothing else to resent her second life for her first, seeing as she didn’t exactly have anything else to hold on to. At least this life gives her a purpose, which was more than she could ever wish for. Dragging herself away to the front door, she wrapped the overcoat around her and released the bun that held her raven dark locks in one place. The Italian born woman liked to feel the cold breeze of the winter and autumn equally so she decided to take her time walking as a form of transportation to Yeonseok’s apartment. He had moved out a time ago to a place above his dance studio and she has yet to pay the place a visit. It was said before that she held a soft spot for the Valkyr so this wasn’t a rarity for her when it comes to him.

A couple of minutes later after trudging through the wintery streets, she arrived in front of the apartment. Staring at the place, she tucked both her hands inside the pockets and entered the elevator before pressing the said floor’s button. The moment the doors to the elevator opened, she made her way to the lot and knocked a few times against the door as she waited outside for the owner to come and open it. "You're as late as ever, Yeon. I swear that one thing hasn't changed." she huffed.

“I never do” Yeon responded with a lighthearted grin, while he may not believe it would ever really happen the valkyr wasn’t stupid enough to give someone an ‘I told you so’ on him, especially someone that had been teasing him to hell and back for the past 8 years. Besides it’s not like he didn’t want to find that cheesy real kind of love, everyone dreamed of that at least a little didn’t they? As much as the idea scared him, he knew in his heart of hearts he did, though he was yet to meet anyone that was significant enough to draw out much attachment at all in him, the only people he pulled close right now were platonic relationships and while what he felt in those could be described as a kind of love, they weren’t what he knew Cecilia was talking about.

Yeon laughed at the way she so casually described falling in love like it was ever going to be that simple, Yeon knew if he ever fell in love it would likely be the most complicated, messy relationship of all time considering the person he was and the effect he had on others around him. When she called his mother a great person he smiled and nodded “She was...or is” he commented and furrowed his brow a little, he still struggled with the idea of having to sever that tie, no matter how much he told himself it was for the better. He pulled a face when she spoke about her mother though, everything he’d heard her say about that woman sounded pretty conflicting “Parents don’t ever seem to realize the impact they truly have on their kids” he commented with a frown, his mother had been very sweet and supportive but his father, his father was never there and that took a massive toll on Yeon.

The younger valkyr chuckled softly, he was very opinionated, the kind of guy that would actually be seen at those marches on the streets holding signs, there was no one, literally no one, that could tell him to back down from something he truly believed in. Which made him a little headstrong but for the most part he believed his morals were in the right place “Learned from the best” he commented back with a wink, he’d shaped his life around the people in it after all. Yeon kinda found it hard to picture Cecilia all that time ago, thinking about what she might have been like as a child, he knew she would have grown up in a time where women were treated as lesser than men “I can’t even fathom what the world would have been like then, let alone what you would have been like” he commented with a click of his tongue, it kinda scared him, the idea of forever, knowing he would see every up and every down.

“God, I hope so, the last thing I need is to be paired with someone who doesn’t want my help” he groaned a little, that would be just his luck, he hoped whoever they chose for him would at least be a good person, someone he could relate with on some level, hell if he was being honest with himself he hoped it was someone he could see himself being friends with, he needed more of those and if he was going to be psychically linked with them for the rest of his life then it would be a bonus. “You know for someone who was supposed to be against this, you have a lot of good to say about it” he commented with a knowing look, so it wasn’t all pain in her memories then, he considered as he watched her. He knew she was just trying to look out for him really which he was thankful for, especially because he wasn’t sure how to feel about it all.

Yeon agreed with her there, getting drunk as a valkyr was a pain in the ass, though he’d gotten it down to an art, the right mix of spirits seemed to speed up the process enough, though it also made you much more prone to being sick when you did achieve it “Tell me about it” he grumbled a little, it was much easier to get his high from blood than it was alcohol. He was curious to know if she regretted her decision enough to reverse it but he wasn’t surprised by her of no, if he’d gone through that he wasn’t sure he’d be able to go back to it either. He got the message she was preaching loud and clear though, don’t overdo it, don’t get addicted because you could fuck up royally “Not only do we need the stuff to survive, do they have to make it addictive too” he sighed and shook his head, thankfully Yeon wasn’t typically an addicting type, he was good as saying enough was enough, mostly because he didn’t want to give anything or anyone true power over him.

He hadn’t really drunk much, just sipped at the original glass she had given him so it was now about half full “Do you think this alliance is in preparation for a war?” Yeon asked candidly, that had been weighing on his mind, he knew the celestials needed to protected but he was starting to question if there was some kind of imminent threat he didn’t know about that was making this whole process more rushed, he had barely even heard of Volkiri until a few weeks ago and now it was all any valkyr was talking about.

Propping an elbow on the couch, she changed her seating and laid her head on the edge of it, so she would be more comfortable, with her legs sprawled neatly on the rest of it. The bottle of vodka that was once full was now down to half because she kept drinking them, five times. Make it her sixth now. If she's going to continue talking about it, she can't be 100% sober, that's for sure. Although, it's literally a common knowledge for people close to her to know just how unpredictable the Italian is when she's drunk off her ass. Most couldn't even handle a sober Cecilia Laterza, much less a drunk her. Oh well, it's going to take a while down the road to get her 10% into drunk land anyways. She'll stop then.

“Mhmm, sure..” She couldn't believe that Yeon didn't actually believe in the concept of love. Don't mistake her for a sappy lovesick puppy when it comes to those, she got the harsh part of it winding back on her, but she wouldn't be so quick to dismiss such prospect off the table. One day, the korean valkyr might find his own and she desperately wanted to be there to tell him ‘I told you the first time', just for the sake of doing it. Hey, she's been teasing him for 8 years, this is nothing compared to the other lengths she went. Celia is allowed to have her harmless fun that doesn't involve any other party to get hurt. But for now, the two of them will have to settle for a few nights here and there to move ahead with their lives. Not that there was anything wrong with that.

Of course, Yeon's mother would still be alive considering only 8 years had passed and the valkyr was honestly not even old to begin with, he is 28 this year. It sucks that they couldn't visit the people in the past lives after becoming a valkyr, but she should understand them. It was too dangerous for both parties to withhold such information and knowledge about their kind. Yeon starter least had someone who he would be able to visit without bitter or ill feelings. The same couldn't be said for her. Nobody noticed her, and she'd like it to remain that way. “They don't, I guess.. Either they took them for granted or they just never realize things until they're gone.” she pointed out softly, the small tinge coming back into her memory lane, knocking on one particular door. Did her mother ever cared about her after the death of her father? Was she really treated like a child rather than a symbol of something that was left of Adamo Laterza to Flora Natale?

“Though I am sure your mother would be proud to see the person you've become today. Look at you, only 28 but is already leading a successful life without any care in the world to jeopardize it.” That was one of the perks that really came with their identity. They were given more time to spare, as long as they are kept under wraps and radar. Returning her head around the clouds of Roman Empire that shaped the world once upon a time ago, she scrunched her nose up and shook her head. “It was harsh times.. Everyone was selfish. You die or you survive. I do believe hierarchy was everything back then. Not that I would know fully, my life was complicated. I was born a bastard. As far as an illegitimate child could go, despite her heritage.” she shrugged, choosing to finish her sixth glass in a row. “Everyone was a dick. I lived my life in exile for most part until my lovely uncle that actually loved his sister, took me in. Put me in the best institution where they train healer's, though it feels like a nunnery there. Then sent me off to war.” Seventh glass.

“Still can't believe I died from a plague.” she grumbled, obviously after downing her current eighth glass, the intoxication was slowly seeping in but not nearly enough considering the factors that surrounds her. Healing properties, age, everything. “Out of everything, tuberculosis.” The small whining tone was slipped out, that was truly a rarity since she never gets drunk with others that much. “You'll probably see the world to shape into whatever comes in the future soon. Ya know.. Because you're immortal now. If you keep yourself out of trouble and manage to live long enough, I'm gonna take you around Rome, one day.” She had no doubts that Yeon would definitely live a good life. His self-preservation is quite admirable.

“I guess fate just hates you then. If you ended up getting a partner that doesn't suit you. But I doubt that. The world seems to love you.” she drawled, things seemed to work out for Yeon, so she figured that must be it. That, or she keeps an eye out to make sure no one would be able to avoid his charms. A few strings she pulled here and there, but most of the time she didn't need to, since the blond valkyr's charms could easily muster them. Chuckling in response to his remark, he wasn't wrong. She was probably the one who's really against this bond, but that was just due to her bitter experience. “Professionally, I won't even say it's bad. Personally however, there you have it. It's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, you get stronger in return for a few bestie threads with your volakiri. Just because I have a bad experience with mine, doesn't mean everyone else would.” The drunk level was slowly subsiding, which means she probably needed to empty the entire bottle if things go like this.

“Perhaps. Things aren't looking from everywhere else, I'll be honest. There has been more and more rogue valkyr popping out here and there. No idea who's the one doing them though.. We'll probably need to retrace them again to make sure they're not truly out of control.” She couldn't lie to Yeon directly saying things were good. “It's a good precaution step, for sure. This way, most of us will be stronger and the celestials would be protected by at least one individual.”

Yeon didn’t refute the idea of love existing, he’d seen the love his parents held for one another with his own eyes after all, when his father was actually around he always doted on Yeon’s mother and did loads of little silly things to make her happy. Yeon just had never met anyone he wanted to do those kinds of things for, no woman, or man, seemed to invoke any kind of feeling like that in him and in the past 8 years he had gotten close to a lot of people, if close was the word to use for it “Don’t give me then you’ll understand when you’re older tone” he jeered and nudged her in the side with his elbow, surely if there was someone out there that could change his mind he’d have seen a hint of it by now, some kind of proof that he wanted any kind of attachment.

Parents were an interesting subject for Yeon, considering he had died before he’d even been able to move out of his family home, his mother and father were all he had ever really known as a constant in his life “I still miss them though” he admitted with a half effort smile, he really did wish he could have returned home that day, told his father that he didn’t mean the things he said and found some sort of closure of goodbye. Instead, his new intuition had him fleeing the country without so much as a word “Did I ever tell you they had another child?” Yeon asked as he glanced up at her. He had expected to feel upset or hurt by it but actually, he felt a sense of relief overall, that they’d been able to get past his death and rebuild some kind of life. He just hoped the sister he’d never meet would have a good life and that his father would take the time to be there for her.

Yeon smiled when she spoke of his mother being proud of him, he knew she’d never actually know the things he’d achieved but he liked to think he honored the spirit of the things she had taught him, hell he was an openly bisexual man who owned a pretty large pretty successful business, if that wasn’t owning the person you were, he didn’t know what was. Hearing her talk about the time she was born into was always interesting to him, it sounded more like myth than fact most of the time because it was so long ago and so different from the life he knew “Your life literally sounds more complicated than a Shakespearean play” he commented mumbling a little as he looked up at her from the pillow he was leaning again “How did you get through it all without completely bending to the will of what society wanted you to be?” nowadays there was much more freedom to be who you wanted to be and express yourself as you wish but if the history books were correct, back then you were not.

Yeon chuckled as she complained about the way that she died “Well at least the way you died was natural in some form” he commented, it sounded like a very painful and very troubling way to die but at least it could be painted down to being fate. His death, however “The asshole who killed me only got 2 years in jail and he was out in 6 months” he breathed a long annoyed breath, so many unresolved things in life, so little time to dwell over them all. “The idea of that still kinda freaks me out you know” he commented with a laugh, it’d been 8 years and he still wasn’t used to the idea of never aging “One day I’ll be able to talk about history like a memory and that’s such a weird thought” he tilted his head a little. Yeon did intend on living though, there was so much he wanted to see and do. When she said she was gonna take him to Rome he nodded sharply “It’s a deal” he commented with a chuckle, he’d actually really like to see the place that Cecilia came from.

“The world killed me at the age of 20 before I had the chance to do anything with my life” he corrected with a chuckle shaking his head, he didn’t think his success or charm was fair to be attributed to destiny considering how hard he had worked to make things happen for him. He could have easily stayed as the depressed guy who lurked around the valkyr manor and never went out anywhere but that wasn’t the person he wanted to be, nor a justifiable use of his second chance at life. “But I figure I don’t have to go through with it if I can’t see myself wanting to work alongside them right?” he commented and shrugged “I know when it’s the right time to draw the line, if it feels wrong I won’t go ahead with it” he assured her as he looked up at the elder valkyr with a shrug “Part of me wonders if it’s fair to start something when I’m considering making the move to New York” he breathed a long breath, he’d been meaning to tell her about that for a while now.

And the idea of a war in Evermore hardly gave him much reason to stay either, he had instructors here that he could promote to take over the studio so it wasn’t like he HAD to be in Evermore, the place was just nostalgic for him more than anything but Yeon didn’t feel like he truly had a home anywhere, there was no single place he always wanted to return to.

Celia couldn't stop the scoff from coming out of her mouth as soon as the younger valkyr jeered at her, saying how she shouldn't have been using the whole you'll understand once you're older tone. “To be fair, I didn't even attempt to even use that one. I'm pretty sure I was just saying it mildly as mild as I can come across. I am offended, Yeon.” she shook her head and place a hand over her chest, feigning offense. They had an interesting dynamic, the both of them. 8 years together, despite not every single moment spent with one another's company, they grew closer than ever. She'd be lying if she wouldn't come whenever he needed her, because in all honesty, she would. She will.

The Italian made a promise to herself, an oath really. But none lesser than what she intended. Yeon could be halfway across the globe and if he'd ring her a call, she'd be there, wherever he was, as soon as possible. She would abandon everything on her schedule and rush to his aid, that was saying something. And a lot, considering the female wasn't all good with attachments lying around. She wasn't the most civil around people either. If the valkyr deemed someone else not worth her time, she would leave them to their mess alone. “I'm just saying.. That you still have plenty of time on your hands, my young padawan.” A mischievous twinkle then flashed by in her hazel hues, obviously knowing just how much he detested nicknames in general, let alone being called one.

“I can't say older because you're not all that young, to be honest.” 28 wasn't old, neither was it young if she'd measure it from his point of view. The male died at 20, which was 8 years ago. That alone was enough to show the maturity growth to the spitting image he is today. A baby sister, did she know that? She didn't want to, that's for sure. And not in any reasons that she should worry herself on. Celia is carrying a secret around him, that concerns him. It was only a matter of time before it drops like a nuke one of these days. Admittedly, she would guiltily confess she dug up on Yeon's life. She had to be sure. Paranoia is a powerful weapon, and the silver tongued Laterza would not allow it to put a muzzle on her no more. It did once, and it ruined her greatly, leaving her to tend with her own devastating mess.

Her mouth formed an o, as she carefully listened to every word he said regarding his sister. “No, I don't think you ever did. I thought you were the only child.” Lies came gliding out of her tongue as easy as a double edged sword wielded on one hand that cuts both ways. How she hated lying to people she really didn't want to lie to. There has been nothing but a room of honesty whenever it came to these two, with the exception of this one part. “I guess you're relieved to hear they wouldn't be utterly and completely alone after your passing.” she mumbled, her voice as soft as the thin veiled sheer blouse that she adorned on herself. She actually enjoyed reading Shakespeare's masterpieces so to hear this made her laugh.

“Oh yeah. As tragic as a Shakespearean play could go. I guess I never really followed what they wanted me to do. I told you I'm illegitimate. I was a product of love between two rival families, or what they'll call it. When my father was murdered, they exiled my mother, and I along with her. So I grew up in that kind of normality. There was not much of hierarchy where I grew up since it’s a place known for its dark history. The only pressure I felt was the fact that I was supposed to continue my parents’ legacy. To carry on our name. Society didn't care for me, I was invisible for the most part. Maybe that's why.” Shrugging casually at the thought of it, she actually came to the same conclusion too. She was invisible. She's always been.

Raising her eyebrows at the korean male, she still had an amused smirk painted on her features, as she twirled with her necklace that hung lowly around her neck. It was the only thing she had of her past that she wanted to keep. A little family heirloom wouldn't hurt. “Natural yeah. It was bound to happen either way. When I contracted the disease, I fought the longest until it eventually took me. At least, that's what Gid told me. 8 months of coughing myself to death until I feel like the lungs are literally ripped away in the first 2. Sounds beautifully tragic. But there are worse ways.” Yes, at least she died because it was the matter of circumstances, unlike the male before her. Of course she knew every detail about his death. She was there. She saw every report about it. “Well, if you want, he'll have a miserable life. All you need to do is ask, and it's done.” Don't let her supposed other front fool you, Cecilia was sadistic at times. Her creativity goes beyond her medical expertise in the surgery room. “Gid wouldn't even notice. Even if he does, he probably wouldn't care because the dick deserves it.” She said it before she cares for him, that includes his mental state too. Knowing your killer roamed free without any consequences, that has got to be a pain.

She actually likes her home country. Rome is rich with culture and history, and their architecture surpasses a lot of expectations. Celia has cultivated every single detail of them, consider her a big fan. She knew that since the latter had an eye out for art and appreciation, he would love to see that sort of the world too. “If you don't want to do it, don't force yourself. Consent.. It's a strong thing when it comes to this bond. It can sense if you're not willing. I think that's all just nature being a pain, but it's slightly beneficial if you're still debating. Don't worry about it. This bond, it's not the end of your life, Yeon.” He was not turned into a valkyr to fulfill this alone. The male is a formidable opponent. He used his time wisely, that's for sure. What did she talk about them being honest to one another? Right, let her take a few moments in to take this information. Move to NYC? Oh, Yeonseok Lee, you are dead.

She wasn't sure if she was just annoyed that he's been holding that information back from her, or the fact that he's probably moving very soon and only picked now to tell her. But the class she had around her hand shattered as she pressed it with twice more pressure than an average human should. Thankfully, it was on the table so it wasn't much of a mess. “You have got to be kidding me.” Is that why he suddenly looks like a puppy trying to find a way to get out of his punishment? Now, Celia wasn't his sister or mother, so she doesn't have a say in what he does and she never wanted to. The Laterza female never stopped him from doing anything. But leaving Evermore when she's only settled in recently? Well that shit hurts. “Does anyone else know about this moving of yours?” Her glare was unwavering, and if looks could kill, then he'd probably be dead already. “How long has this planning been going on, per se?” she prompted him to tell her. “I'm not mad, Yeon. I'm just.. Yeah I'm mad.” Nope, she's not even going to hide the annoyance resurfacing. Yeon knows her well enough to detect it anyways.

Yeon had been around Celia for long enough to know when she was treating him with kid gloves, like the knowing tone she had given him earlier as though she knew she was going to prove him wrong one day, he rolled his eyes when she feigned offense “You’re not that easily offended” he commented with a chuckle and a shake of his head, the brunette had always been pretty thick skinned, she didn’t let anyone really get to her, which was probably a good thing considering how nasty some people could be. Truthfully Yeon would love to be proved wrong, people said love was a good thing right? That or the most painful thing someone has gone through, depending on who you asked.

The blond shot her a glare when she used a nickname on him, only Cecilia could get away with doing that and him not walking out the room instantly, he tensed his muscles for a moment in annoyance over it but he let it go “You’re what, like a thousand years old and calling me old?” he questioned with a raise of his brows “What’s that make you, ancient?” he jeered back towards her, 28 was an interesting age, though frustrating because he looked about 23 at the oldest and technically he had died before he actually reached the age of 21, which sucked when every place in Evermore liked to check ID.

Yeon nodded a little as he affirmed he did indeed have a sister, he didn’t know what she looked like or the kind of person she was, only her name and her age, which was enough for him. He knew it would hurt too much to look too far into, to see the life he could have led if he hadn’t died that night. “I was an only child” he commented with a shrug “I hope she gets the life I couldn’t have, lives it without regrets and pain” he shrugged, he couldn’t be mad at them for wanting a family again, in fact it said a lot about their strength all things considered, some people would have given up entirely then and there “They all deserve to be happy” he spoke it softly, slight emotion showing in his eyes as he reached up to rub at them and then smiled.

Ce’s story was a lot more dramatic than his he had to admit, growing up in so much animosity sounded like living hell if he was honest, her father was murdered, she was forced to go on the run, he couldn’t even imagine all the pain she had gone through. And yet she was strong, stronger than most people he had ever met, it was strange how the things people went through could shape them “You turned out okay, all things considered” he teased with a gentle smile. Most people probably would have crumbled in such a situation but then Cecilia certainly wasn’t most people, he’d learned that one quickly.

The younger valkyr winced a little when she spoke about the pain that she had gone through before she died, thankfully his death had been pretty quick and while it had hurt like hell, he hadn’t really suffered in the way she described. It must have been hard for her not to have anyone to blame either, when he awoke there was someone to hate for what had happened and that allowed him to feel something, even if it was a negative emotion, it was something, and focusing on that helped him to keep sane for a while “That sounds awful” he commented and pulled a face, he couldn’t imagine what it must be like to lay there and wait for death. Yeon shook his head a little when she offered to do something about the person who caused his death, he’d been tempted himself if he was honest but it didn’t seem to be worth it “It was 8 years ago and he’s probably lived with the guilt of it, no doubts he’ll take it to the grave” he pressed his lips together “I think that’s enough” he breathed out gently, why ruin another life right? The guy had fled from the scene but he’d been drunk and afraid but it hadn’t been a targeted attack or even intentional to any degree.

“No one can force me to do anything I don’t want to do Ce, you know this” Yeon commented with a chuckle, the only reason he was giving this the time of day in his mind was because the request came from Gideon and he respected the Valkyrie enough to listen to him “I at least want to meet the person they want to match me up with, see what I’m dealing with for myself and who knows, maybe we’ll get along” he could hope right? He wasn’t too fond of the idea of the universe picking friends for him really but considering how few he had, perhaps beggars couldn’t afford to be choosers.

And then he dropped that particular bombshell. Well, it shouldn’t really be a bombshell considering he much time he had been spending away from Evermore lately but he already knew Cecilia would take it as one. He watched the look on her face as she digested the news and then the sound of shattered glass echoed through the room, his eyes moved to the broken glass and he winced, okay not the reaction he was hoping for but not unexpected either. His expression showed some guilt as he looked back over at her, he knew she wouldn’t be happy about it, that’s why he had kept it to himself for so long “No” he answered honestly “Not anyone other than my assistant anyway, because she’s been helping me look into the details” it was surprisingly difficult to uproot your life it turned out. Or at least it was when you were a business owner. He couldn’t look her in the eye when she was staring at him with that judgemental glint there so he averted his gaze around the room. He bit his lip when she asked how long he’d been considering it “A few months, give or take” he answered “Though it’s only become a real possibility in the past couple of weeks” really he was still on the fence, there were reasons to stay in Evermore, he just wasn’t sure they held enough weight.

He nodded when she admitted she was mad, he couldn’t blame her for being mad, he’d been wanting to tell her about this for a while but it had always been fleeting gatherings or phone calls and it didn’t feel like the right time to talk about it “I get it, I wanted to tell you before but you know what we’re like with missing each other, I didn’t want to spout it over the phone” he sighed softly, plus he knew she wouldn’t want him to go and that made it harder to tell her.

Narrowing her hazel hues on the male, she scoffed and flipped her hair dramatically just as how dramatic could come. “I take offense to a lot of things, if I'll have you know. I'm a sensitive gal.” she shook her head and clicked her tongue a few times before giving him a look of dismay. It wasn't until a few seconds later that she shrugged and returned to her normal state. “Eh, it's fun being dramatic. As long as it lasts anyways.” Dramatic was never a word that could properly describe Cecilia. She is rather impetuous though, but not dramatic. Never that. “I take offense for fun, because some people are just way too dull and somber it ruins the mood.” She's that type of woman that would literally decorate a torture room just so she could make sure it has a mood. There's no going anywhere when it comes to her ways.

Oh she knew just how much he hated nicknames and whilst it wasn't exactly intentional the first time, she did find humor in elaborating it even more further. The look on his face showed her just how clearly he detested them and she was on the verge of laughing her ass off the couch but managed to maintain her posture. Not for long though, because a few moments later she was clutching on the pillow for her dear life and had to stop herself from going into it. “I'm sorry I just can't go on serious with you looking like I just ran over your cat.” she even placed a hand over her chest to stop herself from laughing, which is slowly working. Slowly. “Not that I would do that. Like ever.” She forgot when was the last time she's had a laugh truly like this. Chuckles and chortled? There's plenty. But a laugh? Probably the first time in a while. But considering it is while within the vicinity of Yeonseok Lee, she was not even surprised.

The blond always had a way to make her laugh, which is refreshing to say. “Hey, I know I'm old enough to be called ancient when 1783 is not even that old.. But that's not valid because it's pointed towards me.” Don't even dare speak about logic when it comes to the Laterza female. She knows nothing of them. Or at least pretends not to know any of them. “Well at least you look older than the age you were supposed to be stuck in. It has got to suck when you can't even go around without having a legal age, right?” Wiggling her eyebrows in response, she was sure she's going to exhaust her laughing mode now. Thankfully, she died at 25. And back then, most if not everyone looks a lot more maturer than today, possibly due to the harsh environments and she was glad it does now.

It was sad to see how glum Yeon was being. It wasn't a usual sight, that's for sure. “I'm sure she will. I hope they will tell her all the stories about her big brother, who by the way is a real catch.” she winked playfully, conveying her sincerity in the form of words. Yeon was one of the kind. She's never met someone quite like him and that was honestly the reason why she felt a pull his way in the first place. Now that this was coming out, she felt slightly burdened by this particular secret that she's harbored for 8 years. For her, 8 years shouldn't even be considered a duration because she was able to wait for centuries on her volakiri, but it was regarding this guy, so it does bring a whole new meaning. One day she'd tell, she told herself. One day.

She knew she wasn't mistaken the first time she laid her eyes on him. The Italian could still distinctly remember the memory as clear as the day. He had a good soul, a tangible will that stood strong until today. That was how she knew instantly that he'd turn out well in the future and she was glad that she wasn't wrong. He's grown so much over the span of 8 years and to say that she was proud would be a vast understatement. Taking in the somewhat compliment given by him, she shrugged casually and the corner of her lips quirked slightly. “All things considered, I didn't think much about it. I remember only wanting to get out of the miserable place. Away from all the toxicity that plagued the land. I wanted to make a name for myself while still carrying the Laterza-Natale legacy. Sounds a lot like a fantasy though.” In the end she was known for her contribution as a healer, so that was something to her. “Living up to the expectations is so hard..” she grumbled, leaving the air to dissipate after she allowed her annoyed cloud to take its place above her.

The mannerisms of their deaths were different but the brunette found so much solace in him for a reason. “At least I know I was going to die either way. You didn't.” she pointed out. Celia knew she was going to die, the moment she contracted the disease, she knew she would not have long. Perhaps 3 months at most, even though she stayed until 8. With Yeon, he never thought he'd die after he ran out. He didn't think he wouldn't live to see another day. When she said he's a kind soul, she wasn't exaggerating because if it was her, she would've somewhat confront the guy. She wasn't as forgiving. “Well, I hope you find someone compatible. God knows someone needs to look after you that's not me or God. You're quite handful, afterall.” There was no point in continuing the somber mood no longer. Though it died down real fast too the moment she received the bomb from him.

Celia could still feel the blood trickling down from the cut she made on her palm due to the glass shards, not that it bothered her. It'll heal soon anyways. She wasn't really concerned. Her attention was fully fixated on the blond, her eyes staring at him scrutinizingly as it prompted him to talk. But it doesn't seem like he was anywhere near meeting her eyes. He knew she wouldn't react to this as easy, he had to. Yeon knew Celia very well to know that it would definitely be a shock to her. But he also knew that she wouldn't start throwing things at him and yell. The silver tongued Laterza was just slightly above the clouds due to her previous intoxicated state that still had the alcohol running in her systems. “I can't stop you even if I wanted to, so there's no point in getting mad anyways.” Letting out a heaved sigh, she leaned against the soft cushion and gave him a softer look. “I am upset that you won't be here obviously, since I'm just making my residency here, perhaps permanently.” It wasn't supposed to be until she's returned from Belarus but since she's now here earlier, it didn't change a lot.

Cecilia Laterza was a known nomad. She doesn't stay anywhere longer than she needs to. So to hear that she was going to make her permanent residency here of all places should surprise anyone. It even surprised Gideon, considering her patterns. “I guess I should start making a place in New York then. Because I'm definitely going back and forth.” She'll never say it verbally but Yeon knows that Celia would go back and forth if it means visiting him. If she could travel halfway across the world to see him, what's a trip to NYC? “I want to see you happy. Staying cooped up for no reason is not a healthy lifestyle. I am curious to see what happens if you do connect with your volakiri here though.” she smirked.

Yeon just gave her a look of disbelief when she said about being sensitive but he didn’t say anything on it, people like them couldn’t afford to be sensitive, if you cared about what comments and thoughts other people put out there then you’d probably never leave your home. Yeon knew the things people whispered about him, about how he was a playboy and heartless, they spoke about how he had no romantic future. Not that they were entirely wrong but they were sorely mistaken if they thought their opinion had any impact or influence on what he did with his life “Faking offense for the sake of entertainment is very different to actually being offended” he gave a low chuckle.

The blond valkyr just leaned against the couch while she had her laughing fit, he ran a hand through his hair and sighed, well his hate for pet names wasn’t unfounded, it was one of those things he had refuted after he had been brought back, when people called him endearing little names it reminded him of the same ones his mother had always spoken to him and the way Jintao had always used nicknames for him. 8 years later and still hated them beyond reason “I’m glad you find my inner trauma entertaining” he commented with a shake of his head. The younger valkyr enjoyed the fact that she could still laugh though, that unfiltered raw kind of laughter that you didn’t get to see often, even if it was at his expense “Tasteless choice of words though” he commented with a half smirk, considering his death had been from being run over after all.

Yeon gave off the impression that he didn’t care about much, but anyone who took the time to really know him would quickly realize that most of that was his personality and not an actual lack of empathy, sure he didn’t know how to show that he cared sometimes but that didn’t mean he was the heartless bastard a lot of people made him out to be either “You just called me old at 28 you hypocrite” he commented with a roll of his eyes, damn this girl could be cryptic at times with the way she spoke sometimes. “I don’t know about that, I have a baby face, most of the time I still get asked for ID at bars, I don’t think that’ll change” he shook his head a little, well there were worse things in life than looking young, it definitely had upsides too.

Yeon laughed when he thought about his parents telling his sister stories about them, okay that was a nice thought he had to admit, really he felt no animosity towards anyone in the life he left behind, he really hoped they were happy. Honestly, he wanted everyone to be happy, that was part of his whole believing in loving yourself morals. If he could share some of that with the world then he was improving it just a little right “I really hope she gets love from my father, I always wanted it but never really got there” he commented wistfully, he’d always sought out his father’s attention and the lack of him had driven him to do a lot of drastic things, including inducing himself into a heart attack in his damn teens. “Not to sound jealous, things work out the way they do for a reason” but he hoped perhaps his story could have had some positive impact, despite the tragic ending.

It was interesting to think about the roller coaster of a life she must have lived til now, it made him question in his mind what the whole point was, to live that long, what did you live for? For the past 8 years, he had been living for several reasons, to explore his passion in dance, to build somewhat of a life for himself, to learn what it really meant to be a valkyr and to protect people. But would those things last forever or would he eventually tire of them and need new goals? That was the thing about the prospect of forever, it was a very long time to comprehend. That’s why he tried to live in the moment too because thinking about the future too much was daunting as hell. “Well you can be proud you did make it out” he commented with a nod.

He didn’t like to think about his death too often, at least not when he was awake anyway, he couldn’t stop the memories seeping in when he slept but at least in the day he could push them to be back of his mind “I think it being over quickly was probably the best thing for me, I would have agonized over all the things I didn’t get to do otherwise” because he wouldn’t have known he was going to wake up again. “Really I’m lucky whoever was there that night took a shot on me, cause it could have been 20 and dead like the papers posted” it still kinda plagued him that whoever it was had left him behind to figure things out for himself, maybe they could have stopped him from running to his house that night and witnessing the most painful moment he had ever experienced, something that still haunted him to this day. But then at least they had saved him and he hoped they knew he didn’t waste it.

Yeon smirked when she called him a handful “I prefer to call it keeping people on their toes, if they can’t handle it, they’re probably not worth my time” he believed people were meant to be challenged, anyone who stayed stagnant may as well be dead. He tried to bring out the best in other people, mostly because he couldn’t stand to be around people who had no personality. Her reaction to his thoughts on New York had caused quite the mess, he noted the fact that she had cut her hand on the glass and frowned. There was no point offering first aid because it would heal too fast but still, the glass shatter was dramatic, even for Celia. He was glad she was able to see his side of it though, that was the one thing with Celia, somehow he always seemed to be able to talk things through with her “It’s still undecided anyway, maybe I’ll find a reason to stay but right now I’m spending more money traveling than I am on rent” he chuckled and leaned against his hand, he could afford it, but it was a terrible business decision.

“So you’re planning on staying here huh?” he asked with a quirked brow, now there was some equally surprising news “Never thought I’d see the day where you settle” he tilted his head a little “Is there a plan in motion or are you just tired of moving around?” he genuinely was interested in what she wanted to do with her life, he definitely did care about his friends and their welfare, more than he would put into words because he believed actions spoke louder.

The looks Yeon always passed around never ceased to amaze her, mainly because she doesn't laugh a lot, no matter how amusing she finds most things could be sometimes. She takes things to heart or takes them for granted. She is rather insensitive or sensitive, there was no middle ground for her. Travelling around, she often keeps an eye and ear out for anything, if not everything, that was related to their faction. So she knows just how reputations can play in situations such as this. Celia has heard plenty about Yeon, though she did think it was actually nothing big. He's enjoying his life, isn't that what she wished for? If it wasn't, then she would've never even thought about him in the first place.

“I know it's different but let's not think much about the logic today, alright? I can handle serious time with Gideon, but not you. You're supposed to be my funscape.” Yes, she knows she meshed up fun and escape as one word, but with he current state right now, it's amazing if she could even remember anything else. Though the alcohol was slowly dissipating from inside, which caused the Italian to complain internally. Taking a peek as she tilted her head to the side to face the valkyr, she sighed and rolled her tongue. “You know that's not what I meant..” It was a sensitive issue, but sometimes tipsy Celia doesn't always filter her words, well, to be fair, she doesn't filter her words most of the time. If he was any other person, she wouldn't give a damn what he feels, but since he is Yeonseok Lee, that is a whole other thing entirely. Cecilia Laterza doesn't always care, but when she does, she wasn't embarrassed to show it.

The female valkyr felt as if Yeon just dropped another bomb on her and left her to fend for herself underneath the weight. “I'm always tactless, you know that.” she grumbled, her tone growing smaller by the second. It's amazing how much effect Yeon has on her. Their friendship wasn't something she's willing to sacrifice. It wasn't easy building it up, and in no way was she going to give it all up because she said something wrong. Whilst her ego and pride would often say no to apologies, today was not it. Not when she's talking to one of her most favorite person. “You know I don't mean all of that, right?” she leaned in closer to meet his dark hues, clashing with her hazel ones that somehow seemed a lot brighter today. “I would never say things that would hurt you.. At least not by intent.”

Celia doesn't like showing her emotions to anyone else, only a selected few were able to witness that side of hers. It was mainly because not being attached or empathetic seemed a lot easier to manage herself with. There were times when she viewed emotions to be a weakness, especially when she had to get her hands soiled. But at the end of the day, when she remembered she was still humane and not soulless, it comforted her greatly to know that she's still behind the line drawn. “Hey, in this age and era, some people think 28 is old. And let's not forget you do act a lot maturer and wiser for a 28 year old.” she retorted, making a few air gestures while doing so. She'll never say it outloud but she was proud of how he turned out. His hidden maturity and wisdom behind that pretty face were a part of his many talents.

“Isn't it good that you have an ID that states you're above 21 then.” she teased, clearly finding the amusement in that. Yeon did have a baby face, but the way he dresses himself could be a deciding factor too. He's a member of duality, she concluded that a long time ago. His confidence was one of his most attractive quality and he knows just how to use them to his own expense. “I'm sure that things will continue to work out for you in the future. Maybe it's what fate has in store for you, you never know.” Surprisingly, Celia believed in those. Considering just how old she is, if shouldn't be a surprise but as far as her traits go by, she does believe in them. It doesn't mean she likes the idea of it, but just because it wasn't necessarily nice to me, it didn't meant that it wasn't viable to others.

As if the bombs earlier weren't totally enough for her, this one struck a cord. Highlight of the day. She could feel her throat drying up like it was the Sahara desert. Her eyes even wavered for a quick moment. She knew she made the right decision that night. It was a conflicting decision, as a doctor and as a valkyr, Celia remembered the dilemma she faced. “If you happen to come across the person who turned you, what would you feel? What would you tell them?” She was careful not to let the doubt hinting in her voice to slip up. Curiosity got the best of her but it doesn't mean she couldn't utilize it to the best of her ability. This is what she does best, afterall. Prompting people to speak without them realizing.

“You're immortal, you don't even use the money to eat anyways. But I do agree travelling back and forth is such a pain. I get jet lagged the last time with Marseilles.” They're immortals, but not expendable. You can still see Cecilia Laterza complaining about the most mundane things ever. Chuckling in response to the judging statement she received from the male, she shrugged and hummed. “Me too. Never thought I'd come to the decision too. But things aren't going well these days, Yeon. Things are like majorly screwed up in the East. I can't believe for the first time we might be outnumbered.” She doesn't usually speak about her occupation, but sometimes Celia needed someone to divulge in. Yeon was the closest person that she trusts. “I just thought things would fare better if I'm here with Gid. God knows how much reassurance he needs. I feel like something's is brewing but I have no idea what it is. The number of rogues are piling up like a mountain.” She doesn't do well executing their own kind, but sometimes desperate times call for drastic measures.

Yeon laughed a little when she called him her ‘funscape’ it was true that he tended to be the more lighthearted out of all the valkyr, positivity was his way of getting through what could be considered a stressful and difficult life “I am usually pretty fun” he pondered and then shrugged “Maybe I’m having an off day” he had been traveling pretty constantly lately and it was definitely having an impact on his sanity, he knew he would need to take a break sooner or later. He wasn’t really that pissed about her teasing him about pet names but it did bring up memories he tried to forget “I know” he answered and ran his tongue over his bottom lip, it really was a strange thing to be bothered by but he couldn’t help it.

He thought they’d said enough on it but then she followed it up with an apology, his dark eyes lifted to meet hers in a sad smile, he gave the impression that he was very well put together to most, but to those who really knew him it was pretty easy to see that things did bother him. Hell, he was thinking about getting a Volakiri because he wanted to help people, though he very rarely talked about the things he did for others, really it was easier for him to be seen as selfish than to risk getting people too attached to him “Of course I know that” he commented and allowed the smile to spread as he reached out to squeeze her shoulder “You’re probably one of the only people I’ve ever known that hasn’t let me down” he nodded a little and that was saying something considering how many people he saw on the daily.

It wasn’t usually like him to show many emotions, it wasn’t that he didn’t feel them, everyone felt them, it was just that he didn’t know how to express them and so he found it easier to cover them up with most people, he was confident but he was certainly not invincible. “I guess I’d rather be treated as old than called a child” he commented with a chuckle, he looked young but he hadn’t felt young in a long time, his life had always just kinda sped by and while he did his best to keep up, he rarely stopped to really breathe and take in life for what it was. He knew he needed to get better at that. “Doesn’t it freak you out though, knowing there’s quite literally forever in front of you?” he raised his brows curiously.

“You have no idea” he responded with a laugh, imagine being an immortal valkyr and not being allowed to buy yourself a bottle of vodka “I think I’m gonna need a fake ID again soon though, I look too young for my age” thankfully fake IDs were pretty easy to come by in Evermore due to its mostly supernatural population. He raised a brow when she mentioned the word fate, it kinda felt weird coming from here if he was honest “I’ve already been pretty lucky if I’m honest with myself” he answered and shrugged, he’d seen a lot of success that some could only dream of “Do you have any plans of what you wanna do?” he tilted his head “Aside from the usual sneaking that is” he smirked a little, of course, he knew she was a doctor but he found it hard to picture her taking up a job at Evermore general.

When she asked him about what he would tell the person who saved him he went quiet for a few moments and pursed his lips a little, he ran a hand through his hair which messed it up a little “I’d have a lot of questions for them” he answered, his expression was conflicted “Part of me would want to thank them for the choice they made but the other part is pissed they abandoned me” he shrugged softly “Letting me go home to my parents like that, it’s something I’ll never be able to burn from my mind” it had thrown him into a real pit of depression for the first year or so of his new life.

“Call me superficial but I don’t like to waste it all on pointless back and forth” he chuckled softly, perhaps if he set up a more permanent base in NYC then he could still keep a room in Evermore for when he needed to visit. When she explained the state of things he nodded gently, he figured everyone supernatural felt it, this tension like something really bad was about to happen. He’d been trying his best not to let it bother him too much, it wasn’t something for him alone to worry about. But as a city, there certainly was a concern “It all seems to tie back to the Ailward faction coming here” he commented nonchalantly, ever since they had shown up out of the blue, everything felt like it had gone from 0 to 100, though he had no idea why.

Celia shook her head and took this chance to ruffle his blond locks, leaving it a tousled mess afterwards. “Yeah, you're fun. Always bright and positive. Such an optimist.” she had a soft smile that crept up her lips earlier as she spoke those words but she couldn't help but to feel sad too. She was confident that she made a good decision 8 years ago. Or, at least she did the best one at the moment. She could never know which is which, and that'll leave her in a dilemma of her own. Yeah, she did right by him. Maybe not on the abandoning part, because she was that cowardice that night, but she definitely gave him a chance to live his life the way he deserved it. No words could describe how proud Cecilia Laterza was.

“Well, you can always jog yourself up whenever you're having an off day. Surely you know just what to do to trigger that switch to get it going again.” she winked playfully, Yeon was a rather unique guy who had a certain way of thinking which impressed her until today, and that was already hard to achieve, much less maintain. Or maybe it's just her being highly biased when it comes to him, either way works. She was glad that Yeon didn't take what she said up to his heart because it wasn't her intention at all, though she'll be reminded that a filter doesn't exist when it comes to her speaking. Talk about being silver tongued.

She knew just how fragile ones heart could be. No matter how cold or distant they might seem, everyone had their own catalyst that was just waiting to jolt up the heart so the gears would resume their work again. Even she admitted that there were certain ways to trigger such emotions from her. Just one tug and she would unravel every other strings that kept her heart intact until today. Celia allowed her free hand to travel on placing a reassuring hold on top of his hand. Despite knowing each other for a little over 8 years, no one will be able to deny the bond they both had. The effect they have on one another, it was astonishing. Yeon could single-handedly stop her from actually killing anyone else, which is a big deal since her temperament is quite questionable. With Gideon, there would still be a few arguments here and there. With Yeon however, she would throw everything down. The sisterly love she had for him is real, and for someone who grew up the only child and unwanted, Celia enjoyed basking in this feeling.

“I'm glad I haven't let you down. God knows that'll be the last thing I would like to do.” she mumbled audibly, really disliking the idea of it. She would never admit it but she never wished to let anyone down, even those who probably didn't deserve her treatment. The Laterza female only ever wanted the people around her to give the same amount of care she's given them. Was that too much? She didn't feel that it is. Though the raven haired valkyr couldn't refrain herself from snickering when Yeon confessed he would rather look older than younger. “Valid point. Being older is definitely a lot better for anything. At least there wouldn't be age limitations stopping you.” Celia too enjoyed the hedonistic events occurring every one in a while, so she definitely agree to that. It was a way for her to forget whatever it was that's happening because she has enough forcing its way into her head.

“You know what bothered me? It's very petty and childish but I wished I knew how it feels like to be a child. Even as a child, no one treated me like one. My uncle spoiled me using gestures rather than words but by the time he took me in, I was 16 already. Back then 16 is the new 36, I swear.” she snickered, really recalling the time where she's always been in the shadows, ironically. “It's quite mundane, but sometimes you get bored. It does freak me out that there's a literal forever in front of me. I've lived for a while, and I remember spending a part of my years wallowing in self regret. I did a lot of experimenting it's not even funny anymore. I thought I would relish in my new-found immortality after getting used to it, but a century or so later, I didn't even know what to do with it. Gideon and I moved around a lot.. One spot to another nonstop while living a low-key life. Eventually when it catches up to you, you began questioning what's your purpose.” The silver tongued valkyr didn't take her immortality for granted but it doesn't mean she knows to correlate around the concept, despite being quite over 1700 years old already.

“But I'm sure you'll find something to do worth your while, Yeon. You're an optimist, you'll have endless supply for all we know.” she chided. She knows it won't be hard for the blond to come across fake IDs seeing as it was a prerequisite for immortals these days. It wasn't as if they could manipulate one’s memory to allow them to do whatever they wish. The universe doesn't work that way unfortunately. She pondered for a while, running her hands through her dark locks that also had blonde highlights for a while before shrugging. “I've been a healer all my life. Before and after being a valkyr. It's the only occupation that sets me aside from my usual hunting. I guess in a weird sense, it warms my heart to know I could treat people especially when I take an amount of blood from them. You give and take, right? Besides, I learn medicine from one century to another, it's the only thing I can comfort myself with so I might take up a position at Evermore General, who knows.” Cecilia never strike herself as someone with morals. But she had enough values to last her life.

“It gets tedious you know, running around chasing rogues that can't seem to take a hint. I don't take pleasure putting them down too..” It was an issue that travelled with the female until today, her guilty conscience that usually doesn't bother her until the very end of it. She knew what her occupation entailed her to do and if she's one to take it so the younger ones wouldn't have to bear the burden, so be it. She cares a lot more than she leads on. Once again, she found her breathing hitched when Yeon talked about the person who turned him. Oh, how she wondered his reaction would be like if he knew the truth to it. “Understandable.. They shouldn't have abandoned you without guidance.. It's just reckless and insensitive of them.”

She was however, glad that the topic shifted to their political standing once again. Don't get her wrong, Cecilia Laterza is not a gal who likes to meddle into things she didn't need to. But because it concerns them as a player, it's hard not to pay attention to it. The Ailwards are known to be a force to be reckoned with; a major player. To literally show it publicly that they are against them, honestly doesn't sound like a wise decision and she questioned Gideon's thinking but said nothing about it. He must've thought this through. “They're big players in this board. From the very beginning. You're right, everything seems to tie back to them, though I wouldn't be surprised.. For instance, if you want to change anything in this world, you have to get pass them because if not, they'll just work their way around the problem and everything will return to its natural state. It's all about power in the end. But I also can't help but to think there's more than just two sides of it. It's not Celestials against Ailwards now. It could easily be more. I don't like being in the middle of it or on the other side.” It was obvious she's a neutral but at the end of the day, she follows what Gideon says. “What do you think?”

Yeon laughed when she ruffled his hair and then flicked it to the side when she stopped though it did little to neaten it back up, normally such a gesture from someone would freak him out but with Ce it felt pretty natural “Being positive is the only sane way to deal with all the crap life brings” he chuckled and shrugged leaning his head back against the couch pillows, if you allowed yourself to get consumed by the doubts and the pessimistic thoughts then you’d just constantly wallow in them and that was incredibly unhealthy, he preferred to look for the positive things, even if they were small, than dwell on the negative.

“I have a few go-tos” he responded with a chuckle “I make an excellent self-hype man, I’ll have you know” he teased with a chuckle, for the most part, he turned to dance when he needed picking up, expressing his feelings through movement helped him to deal with whatever he was dwelling on and often came out with some interesting new choreography ideas he could use. That way he got to turn something typically negative into something positive. Other options were giving himself some time to do the things he enjoyed but never got around to, like binge-watching on Netflix.

Yeon tended to try and give the impression that things didn’t affect him and for the most part they didn’t, he had traveled around a lot in the past few years and while he always seemed to come back to Evermore, he didn’t feel sad leaving it, he didn’t feel much of anything about it if he was honest, it was just a place to him. And with most people he could turn his back and never look back, he didn’t get attached because attachments were a weakness that he knew too well what it was like to lose. He supposed Cecilia was his one exception, the one person he kept coming back to when everyone else was left in the rearview. She had been the one person who never turned her back on him, always there, constant. He smiled softly when she placed her hand over his and he curled his finger around her hand to return the gesture. Neither of them really spoke about feelings but he did love her, not in the cheesy romantic way they were talking about earlier, but like family.

“Same here” he responded to her words about letting one another down, if Yeon was afraid of anything most it was disappointing people, that was part of the reason he tried not to let people in, if he kept them at arms length he could ignore what they expected of him and it was easier that way. The blond valkyr always tried his best to be there for Cecilia as much as she was for him, that was why he had cleared his plans this afternoon without question, if it was quite literally anyone else he would have made them wait but spending time with her was rare and he would take whatever he could get. When she spoke about limitations Yeon laughed “Have you ever known me to let anything stop me from getting what I want?” he chuckled, they were both headstrong like that, fighters.

The younger valkyr nodded, he could relate to wanting to know what a childhood was like, though for the most part, he could only blame himself for most of it, all he had ever done was put pressure on himself back there, it didn’t matter how many times people told him to slow down, he refused “I don’t think it’s ever too late to act a little childish” he chuckled softly “Maybe we should plan a trip to Disneyland, that’s where all the children dream of going right?” he would actually love to do something like that if he was honestly, just completely let go of responsibilities for a few days and be the child he never really got to be. Her thoughts on immortality aligned with his, it was a lot of time to think about that was for sure “I try to just think about the next few months or years, thinking about forever just gets my mind all messed up” he chuckled softly, he figured he could just keep on doing that, finding small things to look forward to and holding onto them and then when they passed, finding the next.

Yeon agreed with her, he’d managed to find plenty to do with the past 8 years of his life and now he had made enough money to comfortably be able to do what he wanted to do without worrying too much about it, it hadn’t come without a lot of hard work though, he often found himself feeling exhausted to the point he couldn’t have a life outside of work lately. “I’m not sure how I’d actually cope with having a lot of free time” he admitted with a chuckle. Cecilia kept busy too, she was always tracking down one rogue or another “It just feels so strange for me to imagine you working a normal job” he admitted with a shrug, that wasn’t an insult, she just didn’t seem like the type that would fit to someone else’s schedule, she was very independent and didn’t like being told what to do “Maybe you should open your own clinic” he commented with a nod, that seemed more her speed, plus if she needed to be away she could hire staff to keep the place running like he did at his 2 studios.

He pulled a face when she mentioned her role of chasing and taking down rogues, it certainly wasn’t something he wanted to do and he respected her ability to shut herself off and do that, someone had to because once a valkyr gave into their blood drinking addiction it tended to be the end of the road for them. “I’d be worried if you felt good about it” he commented with a knowing nod, being a trained killer was hardly on the top of anyone’s career list. He nodded a little when she agreed with him about what the person who turned him did but then he shrugged a little “They don’t owe me anything though, it’s not like I can spit in their face after they quite literally saved my life” he sucked in a breath and shrugged “I’d want to ask them why too, why me” which was far too existential to get into right now but sometimes he was curious.

On the topic of the happenings in Evermore the blond was of mixed thoughts, part of him wanted no involvement in it at all, valkyr didn’t need to get involved unless the supernatural secret was at risk and it wasn’t like Evermore was a place he truly considered home, hell he was thinking about leaving it behind for good. But then the other part felt this sense of responsibility, the only people he actually gave half a damn about were here and he was due to meet someone who may become his volakiri here, in that sense he owed it to himself and them to protect the city. “I don’t think it matters what we think, regardless of which side we take or how much we distance ourselves, I think we’ll get dragged into it” there was his truth.

Poking her tongue in her left inner cheek, she hummed in agreement. “True, life is crap lately,” she mused, trying to recall if there were really anything interesting as of late, nope. She got nothing. Usually she finds the simplest things interesting, but lately, not so much. Perhaps she was just sleep deprived or tired from all the chasing she's doing across the globe once every two weeks. At this point, every time she receives a report, she will get down on the field to finish it as soon as she could simply because she couldn't be bothered to wait anymore. Celia is usually a patient woman, if it's related to a few aspects but when it comes to this matter, she's nowhere near.

“Oh, wouldn't we wish for our own hype person though. Glad you would have your own self to go to whenever you feel bad.  But then again, there's not a lot of trustworthy people roaming around the earth lately, so the only person you can actually trust is yourself.. Which means a big no in trying to get your own hype guy or gal,” she pursed her lips lightly and parted it only to get a yawn from her. She really is tired, isn't she. Physically, she's fine. But mentally, the last few weeks had been a total knockout for her. Cecilia didn't even stay back for any interrogation, and went straight with the swiftest option before packing her bags and go back.

“I need a vacation.. Desperately,” a groan escapes her lips as she covered her face with the existing pillow in her hands, her grumbling complaints muffled against the soft material. Which is why the idea of going to Disneyland sounded so tempting, hey leave it to her to twirl around in childish banter. Contrary to other people's beliefs, she's an outgoing person when she's not associated with her occupation or her faction’s matters. Overall, she's a pretty normal woman, as normal as a valkyr could be anyways. “Disneyland sounds a lot more tempting in my mind now. I was this close to go into hibernation for the next few months which is quite literally impossible, but I will settle with Disneyland anyday,” she affirmed, sighing in delight at the idea of having her own getaway. Two grown people enjoying themselves in Disneyland sounds exactly like what Celia and Yeon would do, no kidding. “But just so you know, you are definitely wearing Mickey ears. That's like mandatory.”

Feigning as she pretended to take a moment to ponder at the thought of him not getting what he wants, she shrugged. “I can't recall. You just gotta do things your own way and yourself sometimes. Waiting feels like an agony. And it is.” Take it from her, she's not usually offering solace, that's rare, but rare doesn't mean non-existent. No wonder she hit on well with the korean valkyr, they were similar in terms of personality and their views on the world. What's important is that at least, she knew she had someone who's gonna back her up if she decided to go down spiraling. Her bloodlust still proved to be a problem that could be reawakened anytime, hence her occasional rehabilitation sessions every once a year. Which was ironic, the blood of the person she treasured became the reason for her untimely downfall that changed her perspective on her food in general.

The Laterza female basked in whatever affection they threw around, her fingers intertwined perfectly molding itself into Yeon's own. Honestly, they were basically platonic relationship goals. She would be willing to thread the worst tracks for him and in return, he would always be there to calm the disastrous waves that would sometimes make her go overboard. They were balanced. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for him, let's be real. Which is precisely the reason why she hasn't told him anything regarding his maker, because it would change everything; everything they've built for the past 8 years. “Just focus on what you can do in the near future, don't bother thinking about where you'd be in 10 years or something. It places a pressure you'd try to live up to and whilst living up to your expectations are like a huge boost to one's self esteem, it's a weight too. Live your life comfortably and be content, Yeon,” she mumbled audibly, hoping that they'd be able to put the past behind them, because she can't keep this secret forever and she wanted to know for sure that it wouldn't change anything between them.

This bond that they have, it doesn't come off easy. She'll be damned if she would be losing that because she wanted to get rid of the weight on her chest that's been haunting her for years. “Believe me, I surprise myself too. But working as a doctor has its perks. I get more confidential information on people, as creepily as that sounds. And I can save people, honestly it's the only thing I can't forget from my past. Besides, my mother once told me when I was a kid that she wanted to heal people. This feels like completing her words.” Sentimentalist she is not, but there were times where she missed being able to let the emotions take over. Just let loose. But Yeon had a point there because she doesn't adhere to instructions given by anyone else, she's hard-headed like that. Her hubris only made it a lot more enhanced if anything. “That sounds like a work.. Maybe I will. At least I won't have to worry if I didn't have time to get into my shift.” And more freedom in practicing medicine.

“Perhaps you deserved a better life. A second chance. Maybe they saw that. Sometimes you can see other people a lot better than yourself. Or they're just a pretty good judge of character,” she mused, careful not to slip anything that she might know about the night of that incident. The day she found him laid on the operation room, because they had a faint pulse a few minutes after his seemingly ‘death' and worked hard to save him. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything that they could do. And Celia just happened to be in the country because she was touring on a conference, working as a supervisor that night. She couldn't leave it at that. Ironically, she takes lives but she also saves them. It was a tip off the scale for Cecilia Laterza, who doesn't take joy in executing anyone, no matter how rotten they were. It was quite possibly the only job that could her mind steered off the clouds, leaving her to wallow in her guilt pit.

Yeon is a smart guy, it wouldn't take long for him to grasp on the situation they have at hand. “Which is probably why I need to be here more than ever. Gideon doesn't show he's stressed though sometimes even he needs to understand there are people with him. Someone has to knock on that door.” She truly cares for the two valkyrs, even more than anyone she's ever cared for.
