Siobhan had been in the city for a few months now and had been learning a lot from her mentor Isaac but she had learned to rely on him to much. So she decided to venture out on her own to do laundry at a laundromat away from Isaac prying eyes. She arrived at the Laundromat no problem in fact she was pretty proud of herself. She walked in her clothes in a bag as she walked over to one of the machines and she raised and eyebrow at it. Sighing she placed her clothes inside of washing machine and then pressed the start button. When nothing happened she sighed. For several minutes she looked over the machine even took out her laundry and walked to a new one. People just gave her strange looks as she sighed in frustration and then kicked the machine.

She gave it another good kick denting it slightly as she stook a step back and sat down in the plastic chair and looked her head to the side at a blonde who was staring at her. Her eyes flashed purple and then she looked away as she stood back up trying to figure out why the machine won’t work “What happened to the damn days we could just was our damn clothes in a river. Fuck.” she muttered under her breath as she shook her head and pulled the clothes out tossing them back into her bag, getting ready to leave the laundromat going to Isaac admitting defeat.

Clara listened to the girl's sad story, and in some ways, she could relate to her, they had both had serious tragedy in their families, families that would never be whole again because of them. Her heart sank a little at what she was going to tell her but it was only fair, Sio had opened up to her and she wanted to tell her. "I learned all about it when I was around 17 or 18 when a strange man appeared in my life, but my powers were officially more present after finding the bodies of my mother and step-father," the thought of her step-father's throat cut deeply, and messy filled her mind, the image of her mother shot in the head and heart, flushed back to her as well.  "It was... well, unpleasant," she added. "How did you get through it?"

"Were you close with your father, it sounds like you were?" Clara asked, it had been too long since she had been with her father, his death setting back ever seeing him again, but the one thing she remembered fondly was him teaching her things. "Mice and Men, hmm, I've never heard about that one, is it happy or sad tears?" she asked. "Favourite book, well, as a child it was The paper bag princess, and I think now it would have to be Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, it's my favourite, I like the idea of escaping into another world sometimes." she replied.

"I'm thinking we'll start easy, just some regular paper, or a notepad, and some pens or pencils, I prefer pencils myself but you might like pens." she said, already making a list in her head of the basic things they could begin to draw, "That's okay, technology isn't one of my strong suits either, but that's probably because of lack of interest in learning them," she said.

Siobhan frowned softly as Clara told her story to her. She looked to her hand as they shook slightly and paused for a moment before clearing her throat “I am not sure if I will ever be over it, something like that stays with you forever.” she said with a shrug “I have just surrounded myself with good people who make life worth living now, even if tragedy seems to follow me.” she chuckled slightly as a joke but it wasn’t fully. “I think as long as you got someone willing to be there for you, and you for them you will make it through.” she nodded to her slightly as she tried to push the image from her head of her dead father and brother.

“My father was my saving grace growing up, even though I know now he wasn’t my father by blood. I was left on their doorstep as a baby.” she said as she let out a soft hum “He treated me like a kid where as my mother wanted me to be perfect.” she said softly tapping her cheek softly “Of Mice and Men, sad tears, such sad tears.” she let out a sad chuckle “I am told its a classic though.” She rubbed her hands together “books have such a way of bring you to different parts of the universe without having to leave your home, I enjoy them.” she replied back.

“Start easy and if I am super bad I can hang up my hat.” she let out a soft chuckle as she bumped her shoulder to hers softly “Oh good so we both can just connect and not be in these stupid phones I see everyone in. I legit watched someone walk into a pole because they refuse to watch where they are going. Like what is so interesting.” she gave a big roll of her eyes.

Clara gave Sio a nod, her words held much wisdom. Clara knew it was almost impossible to get over such a tragedy and by the look in her eyes, the healing journey was far from complete, but she doubted anybody fully healed from the loss of a loved one.

"Family isn't made up by blood, not all families at least, I've had many friends that were there for me through a hard time, more so then my blood, it's about the people who love us, and the people we love, not about DNA, you talk about your father as though he was every sense of the word, so he was your father, blood or no blood," Clara said, giving her a small smile at the end, Clara had known wonderful people but she had also known horrible people, including her stepfather, but she knew there was good in the world, so Clara choose to see that instead of the bad.

"Of Course not," Clara said on a lighter note, letting out a small chuckle along with Sio. "Art, is pretty easy, just feel with your heart, and an image, will come to you, it's about simplicity, especially with beginners work, see something change it up a bit, experiment, remember some famous paintings and just simple shapes, it's all about the basics," Clara said.  Clara listened to Sio, "I don't see the big interest in them, it's nice for looking up information, or finding out which book I'd like to read next, but I'm not sure, if I'd use it while walking, too many things to hit into, as you have pointed out. And it's nice, just talking face to face anyways, it's easier for me to weigh emotions this way," she replied.

Siobhan smiled to the initia as they had shared much between the two of them in their short time getting to know one another. It was nice to have someone to talk too even if it was in a vague manner as it made the weight in her chest feel lighter. Losing a loved one was hard for anyone and being on a roller coaster of emotions didn’t help her.

“I am learning that the people that raised me are my family and always will be even with the bad and good. Yet I am also learning that the new people I am meeting like yourself can in fact be family also.” she smiled towards the blonde. “So I would agree DNA doesn’t mean everything and yet it doesn’t stop me from wondering about my birth parents. Why they didn’t keep me and stuff you know?” she gave a light shrug as she tucked her blonde locks behind her ear.

“I have always looked at art with such admiration and fear because I could never see my life doing it. In fear I would do something wrong.” she let out a soft breath and smiles “Yet I feel like if you are my teacher I can’t go wrong. You seem to have a calmness about you.” she wondered if it was do to her element that she wielded or if that was just her. She smiled towards her wider “Thank you finally someone who sees my way of thinking. Since having this thing I have had calls about some prince needing my money or something.” she laughed “Thankfully I was told that was a scam.” She chuckled to her.

Clara listened, she understood what Sio meant, it was hard not knowing, she often wondered what her father would be like, even though she had known him for a short while, over the past few weeks she knew they; especially her father had been keeping many secrets from her. " Did you ever learn anything about them?" she asked, it was an oddly personal question but maybe it would help Sio herself to talk about it. Sometimes talking really did help.

"Don;t let fear ever stop you, trust me, I fear many things, but the brush between your fingers is no foe, but a dear friend, to let the emotions out another way," Art had been escape, just like books, everything seemed to be an escape from the pain that the real world had inflicted on her and everyone she knew. "Why thank you, I would love to teach you, and I think the calmness might be an illusion, I'm so stressed all I can be is a steady calm," Clara said, grinning at the very thought, she might as well have been a button for all the pressure that was constantly being pushed on her.

Clara let out a small laugh at that thought, "If it's not the prince, it's a company begging for your money to make you a millionaire,"  she replied.

“No, I don’t even know their names as I was dropped on the Leslie doorstep no note, nothing.” she said softly as she shrugged lightly shoving her hands into her pocket. “I guess I could always go to someone and see if I could get help magically but..” she paused for a moment “I figured may not be best to just show up on someone’s doorstep like ‘Hi i am the daughter you gave up, why didn’t you love me’” she chuckled and shrugged slightly.

Siobhan eyes flicked to the girl beside her for a moment and hummed softly “Guess I never thought of it as a way to let one’s emotion out, I tend to bang nails in with a hammer when I need to let emotions out, or cry.” she chuckled light heartedly as she shook her head at the thought. She tilted her head to the side and then reached in her pocket and pulled out a penny. “Penny for your thoughts if you tell me what has you so stressed?”

Clara listened to the story Sio had to say, she had never been abandoned, not as she had. It was worse when they left, not when they died, in most circumstances when people died it was unexpected and they usually didn't want to leave. But Sio's parents had abandoned her, whether their reasons were noble or entirely selfish was unknown. And she could picture the pain of not being wanted especially by the people that brought you into this world, who were meant to love you more than themselves. And Clara wasn't sure how to reply to the pain that seeped into her nonchalant attitude that caused her much distress, she so reached over and squeezed her hand lightly, as in reassurance to let Sio know that she was here for her, if she needed it.

She smiled at the girl, and returned the penny, "You keep it, I'll tell you for free, that's what friends, even new friends do," Clara said calmly with a sweet smile on her face, she had never been offered an actual penny for her thoughts, and the idea that Sio would pay, even such a small amount, held a certain sort of kindness she hadn't seen in a long time. "Maybe it's work, but it has a lot to do with my parents and the secrets they held onto even into death," she said.

As Clara hand came to Sio shoulder in a reassuring squeeze she realized that she had been blurting out her tragic story. “Sorry sometimes I go on far too long.” the young Nephilim returned the touch with a smile. She tucked the penny back in her pocket as Clara refused the offer but still spoke. She was still getting used to the idea of having a friend outside of herself.

“Do you know what kind of secrets now that they have passed?” Siobhan asked as she looked down to the ground. “I know its a weird question, I am sorry that they are no longer with you, and that they kept secrets from you. Maybe it just as something they didn’t think you where ready for at the time.”

Clara shook her head, "Don't worry about, you're just as normal as the rest of us," she gave the Nephilim a teasing smiling. She was beginning to understand being weird, it had taken her a while to finally accept that she was different and she really didn't fit into the human world, but coming to terms was getting easier and she learned to make herself a new world, a world including her favourite things and the people in her life who made her happy.

"I do actually, he helped me find it, I have more family, with an aunt and an uncle, and a beautiful cousin. It's been hard wrapping my head around the idea that I wasn't alone anymore, but it's good, I just wish they hadn't kept them from me, it was lonely." Clara said her head wandering back to March when everything had changed. "What about you? Are you lonely?" she said, because she could relate, she thought everyone could.

Siobhan chuckled at Clara as she called her normal, raising her hand to rub the back of her neck. “I guess in Evermore a lot of us are just normal even in our own weird ways.” She agreed with a soft chuckle. “At least this new life has the added bonus of being able to fly and stuff.” She said as she shrugged softly. “Do you ever feel out of place? Being not so human?” she asked.

“Wow that's amazing finding a family you don’t know about.” She smiled as she was finding the same in those around here even though sometimes it scared her. She didn’t want to lose anyone the way she lost her father and brother. “I am glad you found family so you are not so alone.” She smiled and then gave a soft shrug. “I found a family among a man name Dom, and a sister in a girl name Clarissa. I have patch together a small group and they help me find my way even when I am lost and lonely.”

Clara had to smile at that. "I guess your right," because she was, in a city full of strange behaviour it becomes it's own normal. She hardly thought or saw it any different way. "There are the powers. What's your favourite part about flying?" Clara had to ask, because she had never been except in an airplane, and she could imagine the elation and freedom one would get from being so high up in the sky with all the birds and creatures of flight.
"Out of place, sure, not so human, I guess we've never been human, it was just a strange illusion. But I think in a way feeling out of place is a really human thing to feel, so I hold on to that, it brings me back to reality which is sometimes really hard to find underneath all the insane things around here, What about you?"

Clara listened to Sio talk about her newfound family, and the light that lit up behind her eyes, as she spoke, she seemed at peace and insanely happy with that.  "I'm really happy for you, it's good to have friends and family around,"

Siobhan thought for a moment as she walked beside Clara. “Well besides the free feeling you get. My personal favorite part is to tackle this therian I kinda live with. He has been the one to help me with flying that it kinda feels nice knowing he will always catch me.” She laughed softly feeling the soft blush to her cheeks as she talked about Dominic.

Sio looked to the sky as she talked about how being human was feeling out of place. “I guess you are right it is kinda the thing that ties many of us together.” She said softly as she thought about how she really had no idea what she was doing and what her place was going to be in a new city. “I always feel out of place mainly because my lack of tech knowledge.” She said honestly with a soft laugh.

Sio looked to her as she smiled gently. “What about you? Have you found a family or friends around here?” she asked in return.
