Today was surprisingly not the day she would spent the entire second inside the laboratory for once in her week. Like most people, Taealha too, got her own cheat day. Though, it usually doesn't consist of eating too many in one day without dieting because the human simply knows no boundaries when it comes to food, delivering one clear message most of the time; she wasn't going to do any dieting session at all. No, her cheat day consists of tossing her lab coat on the rack and checking out for the day early so she could spend the day doing whatever she wanted to do, may it be shopping or just lounging back at home eating a full tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream while binge watching her favorite Netflix show. It was also the day where she didn't have to work on her research paper which is also another win. Don't get her wrong, she loves studying what she does but everyone needs a break sometimes and for someone who checks in the lab 6 days out of 7? She needs one off day.

It was no wonder Taealha had a stupid grin masking her features as soon as the clock struck 2 pm. The raven-haired female tossed her white lab coat and rolled her lanyard inside her bag before bidding a quick farewell to the others who just checked in for their shifts. She knew it would've been a waste of time if she had to return back to her apartment just to get a change of clothes so she made sure to bring them with her before going out for work earlier this morning. Rushing over to the spare room where she was given to do most of her work, she closed the curtains and locked the door before unzipping the bag to reveal the outfit she chose for the day. It was a slightly white ruffled mesh blouse paired up with her black skater skirt. She changed her comfortable sneakers to a pair of high heel boots that traveled all the way up to her knees. Her outfit as a whole accentuated her figure and left a small imagination to mind as the preppy mode sets in.

Taealha clasped a few jewelry and accessories on her, from her multiple ear piercings to her necklace and bracelets. Before making sure she was done, the human pulled the scrunchie holding her hair up in a bun, subsequently unravelling her dark locks as she beamed with pride that the curls cascaded perfectly. One look at the mirror to double check her reflection was all she needed before making her way off. She also wore a beret she recently got a few months ago, never getting the chance to wear them due to her busy schedule. Regardless of her current state, Taealha is a warm and friendly person so it was no surprise that she would be greeted by a few local residents in the area, most of them complimenting her outfit and asking how she was faring. A few hours walking around after stopping by the orphanage to teach them sign language for an hour, she returned to the streets. Her hand was busy scrolling her screen while her eyes remained fixated on the phone, counting the steps she took unconsciously with a sound mind, until her eyes fell on the beautiful sunset.

Her eyes widened considerably as she gaped at the beautiful scenery, the phone in her hand no longer occupied her attention but had served her as a tool to capture this moment instead. So she did, she took a few photos of it but wished there was one of hers too. It's been a while since she updated her social media too, much less take a few selfies. Her eyes searched for a passerby who could help her and saw a female standing by not far from where she was at, Taealha rushed over to her direction and tapped softly on her shoulder while wearing a bright smile but not before she texted the message she wanted to say, "Hi, do you mind if you take a photo?" Her eyes were glistening with plea, really wanting a picture or two of herself with the sunset. Who knows when she'd get to go out at this time of the day again? The stranger was the same height as her, though she assumed that since she was wearing heels, she towered about a few centimeters above the other female. But then she quickly typed another message underneath the notepad, "If you can't, it's okay, I'm sorry to have bothered you."

It was refreshing, being around someone like Taealha, Ivy spent a lot of her time surrounded by people who complained about very little, people who became so high on their own ego that they didn’t think about how good their lives were. And she wasn’t saying she wasn’t guilty of that either because at times she was. But despite the difficulties she was sure Taealha had faced in her life she seemed incredibly positive, Ivy just wasn’t sure if that was a front she put on to be brave for the world. “Well I think that’s the problem, most people are living for living, not for any other purpose” most people didn’t try to make the most of their life and seize every opportunity they saw, her included.

Ivy slyly lifted her gaze to look at Taealha over the table when she read her message about ‘accidentally’ showing up here on a Friday night “That’s exactly what I’m saying, I may definitely be looking at the door and hoping a pretty girl walks in” she typed back with a blushing emoji at the end. Ivy never really had much experience with flirting but there was something about being able to think about it, type it out and then send it which put her at ease, she didn’t feel like she’d say the wrong thing because he brain muddled it up or misunderstand a tone and end up embarrassing herself. So maybe she was enjoying herself a little, Taealha was an interesting person who had little quirks about her and she was crazy enough to have hot cocoa with someone she didn’t know which was a level of bold she found pretty attractive. Okay, maybe she was enjoying herself a lot.

Ivy furrowed her brow a little when Taealha suddenly came out with a question about being a cinnamon roll which actually made the Initia laugh softly “I don’t think anyone who has ever met me would describe me as that no” she responded and shook her head slightly “Maybe the ‘Looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you trope’ is more fitting” typically Ivy was a confident person but she was also quite reserved and could be pretty cynical “I don’t need to ask if you’re one, it might as well be tattooed on your forehead” she grinned over at her as she hit the send button. Reading her message about being jealous she got to see the cherry blossoms brought another question to her mind “You haven’t been able to travel much?” she typed it out before following it up “Where would you go if you could?” Ivy had gotten to do a lot of travel thanks to her work and also thanks to the money she made which meant she could afford nice vacations.

It didn’t escape the Intia’s notice how flustered Taealha seemed by her compliments and insisting there was no way she hadn’t gotten romantic attention in the past. She read her message about her dating experience and pressed her lips together “Well you’ve managed to make me laugh several times tonight, not to mention blush which is no easy feat, remember that swooning moment” she laughed softly as she glanced up towards her and then back down to the phone “It’s their loss if they couldn’t make the effort to know you” Ivy definitely wanted to know more, she had so many questions for her but she was making sure not to bombard her too much, she just found her really interesting and real, something she didn’t see in many people. It didn’t surprise her that those people she had been on were met. She typed out a message before backspacing it before typing it again because she was a little nervous to ask “And women?” she kept her eyes on her phone as she waited for an answer because she was blushing so hard, especially after she read the message where Taealha said she would ask her out. She pressed her lips together as she thought about what to say next “If I happened to be available next week, what date would you take me on?” a date with another girl, it was almost too much for her to comprehend but she was feeling a little brave today.

When she read Taelha’s messages about her work she nodded a few times “I guess we both haven’t met anyone willing to put in the effort huh?” it was hard to do that when you were expected to date someone in showbiz, one crazy schedule was one thing but two made things almost impossible, you’d be lucky to see the person from one month to the next and that wasn’t the picture she had for herself honestly. When she slid the phone over the table Ivy instinctively leaned forward to look at the pictures and making a face which showed how adorable she thought they were “Oh my gosh these are so cute” she spoke out loud, it wasn’t like her to gush but the cat was so adorable and the cute poses Taealha was pulling with it were hard to resist. She pushed the phone back towards her after she was done admiring because she wanted to continue talking “I don’t know what it is about otters, there’s just something about them that makes me all” she added an emoji of a face with a puppy dog eyes “I have a plushie one I keep in my room too” which is not something she’d be caught dead saying to anyone else but maybe she didn’t mind being seen as cute in Taealha’s eyes.

“If you are a fan of gifts then definitely, besides I always end up buying way too many and having to palm them off on my neighbors, I’m lucky I don’t have any nieces or nephews or something like that because they’d be so spoiled” she clicked her tongue thinking of another now related question “Do you have any siblings?” Ivy always kinda wished she had one growing up, she technically had a step-brother now but she barely even spoke to him and he moved out on his own much like her after he turned 18. Reading Taealha’s response about what her type was, the Initia was trying to think if each thing on the list applied to her without even realizing she was doing it but when she read that last line she felt her heart clench in her chest a little because she was sure Taealha was made to feel like that often, which was sad “That kinda makes me wanna fight whoever made you feel like that” she responded honestly and then twiddled her thumbs before typing more “If it makes you feel any better, I’m really glad I met you tonight” she nodded slightly before hitting send and then following it up “I needed a little sparkle in my life” and she was much like that, a light which shone in many different directions.

There were times when Taealha herself had to question if she was just putting on a show to hide her pain inside because she knows that she's in pain, oh she does. Bullying doesn't get easy even if she demonstrated herself pretty well in class. It doesn't matter, even if she's the top student in the class, or her course or even her faculty, that wouldn't change. People wouldn't stop bullying her just because she doesn't deserve it. No, that's not how the world works and the sad thing was that she was aware of how it was. But deep down, Taealha doesn't want to believe in the good in people. She was positive everyone was born good and it only depends on who managed to see it through them. Of course, she wasn't about to say a serial killer is good. But they weren't born evil either. Something happened. And instead of losing herself to the cruelty she suffering at the hands of others who seemingly liked to pick on 'weaker' people, Taealha decided to be the better person. So when people could see that on her, she was grateful. Especially for someone who only knew her no more than an hour like Ivy. "People should change that kidnapped of mindset because it will never last forever" she nodded, she wished people were more open to it but alas, Taealha could only hope for that.

Her heart may have stopped beating because the moment Ivy said she was hoping for a pretty girl to come, her cheeks flushed terribly and the human had to stop herself from choking on her beverage. "Maybe she'll show up" Oh, scratch that, she will definitely show up. But Ivy doesn't need to know that, right? No need to expose herself. Who knew that someone she met over asking her to take a photo of herself would be someone she found so many interesting things about over hot cocoa. Winter miracles, indeed. When she said the trope that fits her more would be the one where the cinnamon roll could kill you, Taealha gaped and covered her mouth, "Oh wow… I never would've expected that. Which is probably the point, right? Since you look like a cinnamon roll?" She paused briefly to think about what hers would be, "I think mine is looks like a cinnamon roll...is a cinnamon roll so you're right" That's probably accurate. From the way she looks, Ivy had lush lips and her eyes could probably dig a hole in anyone if she stared at them intensely, beautifully intense, of course. It was making the human very hard not to stare because it kept luring her in, every time.

When asked if she's ever traveled before, she shook her head and pouted, "No, I can't say that I have. I grew up in an orphanage, so when I finally got legal, I was too busy with school. Still do, actually. But I have work now while studying. I would love to go and explore those places one day, though. Take pictures, save it in my memory and tell myself I've accomplished my bucket list" Korea was also one of the places she wanted to go despite knowing it's a country that her family kicked her out of. "I do want to visit Japan for the cherry blossoms. And maybe to Paris, the famed city of love. I wonder how the sight from the Eiffel Tower would be like… there's the Louvre too." Taealha was a girl with big dreams, and she's never felt discouraged not to pursue it. It'll take time, but what doesn't? Her smile widened slightly as she stared at the phone with a bright expression after reading the part where Ivy said it was people's loss for not taking the effort, yes, it was.

She glanced up to meet Ivy's gaze when she was asked about women, "I still have hopes on them. There's a famous saying that girls do it better. Still have yet to be sure if that's real or not, but I'm open to detours" Oh, Taealha's accepted her sexuality long ago when she realized she's drooled over models on runways to girls she saw daily. Yes, she may have had a major crush on her French supervisor that one time too. What date would she take her on? She had to admit the question took her off guard for a while, but she was quick to reply, "First dates shouldn't be so grand so I would take you to my favorite garden and have a small picnic together. Too early to invite you to my place for a Netflix and chill part so, I think hat would do it. Do you have any favorite flowers? If so, then I'd do something extra special with it" She's got quite the imagination and fantasies stored in her head, so it wasn't surprising to see the ideas she may come up with. But at the end of the day, she is still a simple girl. It wasn't that she didn't want to put in the effort but like Ivy implied, it's hard to commit when you weren't sure if it'll work out. She does hope she'd find someone who would be willing to commit with her because she would do the same to them.

Her smile grew as her eyes formed a crescent-like shape when Ivy fangirled over the cuteness of her cat, Ivy looked so genuinely thrilled that it made the human's breath hitch. The emoji with the puppy dog eyes would've sold her any day and it did, Taealha had to place her hand over her chest to keep the squeal inside, "I need to see you and otters now" It needs to come true. The mention of plushie had her reeling because Taealha herself has a huge collection of plushies back home that she arranged pretty much everywhere. Even on the couch. "I have so many plagued back home." Siblings, she's never thought much about it but when Ivy asked her if she had any, it felt like a void was created back again, she longed to someone and sometimes she would be envious to see people with siblings they could spend their time with and relate to. "No, I'm an only child. That's what I was told. Though it does strike the irony in it because if I was an only child, why would I be given away right? Hahaha... " The smile on her face was no longer happy, it felt forced and stiff, probably the first appearance of that today, at all.

"Do you?" I needed a little sparkle in my life, that line had hit the human so bad she parted her lips in awe and grinned bashfully as Ivy before mumbling a small thank you to her. It was those few words she was able to say properly. "With that being said, shouldn't we try to meet each other again? If you told me you were glad to have met me? Who knows, maybe that date can actually come true" she teased.

Ivy nodded as she read the message about how people were essentially closed-minded, she did find that to be true about most, they just lived in this bubble where everything in their life was about them and they didn’t realize how their actions and words affected others so negatively “We can hope for the future right?” she typed out, she did see improvements in the way younger people saw the world but it was slowly progress. Ivy smiled to herself when she read the message about showing up here on a Friday night, honestly, she had never felt a connection with someone upfront like this before, it wasn’t a question of if, she knew Taealha had made a small imprint on her life tonight and that was significant considering Ivy didn’t let many people even get the chance to talk to her like this. Ivy gave a slightly wry smile when she saw Taealha’s surprise at her saying she fitted the ‘could kill’ trope “Let’s just say that people would be stupid to hurt those I care about” and she wouldn’t hesitate to hurl rocks at them. Ivy twitched her lips into a smile when Taealha confirmed she thought she was a cinnamon roll “Too precious, too good for this world, they usually add to the end of that” which could be pretty accurate she had to say.

It made her a little sad to know the other girl hadn’t got the chance to travel because it was one of Ivy’s favorite things to do. She’d gotten to do a few shootings on-location over the years which had been really fun but also she got the chance to just take a break and fly out to explore a few times too, the trip to Japan and one to Italy had been highlights for her. “Bucket list huh? Do you have anything on it that would surprise me?” travel was an obvious thing to add to the list but she must have some more unique things too. It struck Ivy that Taealha was very much a hopeless romantic from the cities she chose and how they had artistic connotations within them “I think you’d like Venice, I have fond memories of taking a canal ride throughout the city, it’s so peaceful and so many things to see” she nodded slightly “Chase those dreams, you never know what might come true” her dreams had come true tenfold after all.

Ivy had a hopeful spark in her gaze as she read Taelha’s message about still having hope in women after pretty much being pushed to the side by men, she’d never really tried the men part because she’d never really experienced attraction to them but girls, oh man did girls manage to get her attention, especially sweet looking ones with gorgeous lips which she was sure would feel soft under her own “Glad to see all hope is not lost then” she responded, looking up at the dark-haired beauty and shooting a wink in her direction. She had to think back at her mind but she didn’t remember a single time in her past where things had gone this smoothly with someone whilst she was flirting, perhaps she had the phone to thank for giving her time to properly think through her words. She had to laugh at how Taealha rationalized her plan for a date by saying it was too early for Netflix and chill “My favorite flowers are petunias” she answered and nodded “Since your love gardens so much, what’s your favorite flower?” she looked down to her hands and smiled because she had this really unique connection with flowers and she was glad someone else shared her love for the earth “A picnic date in a pretty garden sounds almost too good to be true” she added a thinking emoji to the end as though she was implying she read her mind.

She looked up for a moment realizing they were both animal lovers too, well so far that was flowers, ice cream, Netflix, travel and animals in common, it seemed almost like they were destined to get along “I need to see me and otters too” she responded and chuckled to herself because she was determined to make it happen one day, even though there were very few places that offered the opportunity and she would probably have to plan an entire trip around it. She grinned slightly when the other girl said she had plushies at home “I only have a few, but they all have a very special place in my heart” she admitted she shrugged slightly, what wasn’t there to love about cute cuddly things “That’s our secret though, I have a reputation to keep” she teased it and tapped against her nose. She could tell she had hit a nerve by going towards the family topic which made her grimace slightly, clearly that was a topic Taealha avoided, though maybe a part of Ivy was hoping she had one sibling she could rely on or something along those lines “They don’t deserve you” she responded it without even thinking about it but she meant it so she left it be as she tapped slightly against the table wondering if that was too much.

When she returned the question Ivy twiddled her thumbs, did she really? “My mom remarried after I moved here, so technically I have a stepbrother but I don’t really know him” and from the experiences she’d had so far with him, they were perfectly content not being a family together. In fact, sometimes Ivy wondered if her mom even cared much for spending time with her daughter anymore. When she spoke out loud again Ivy lifted her green optics to meet Taelha’s eyes, speaking out loud this time “You have a really beautiful voice” she wasn’t going to ask her to say anything else of course, just wanted her to know she liked the effort that she made when she was sure it was hard for her to do. Her eyes dropped to the phone again, smiling to herself as she read the message bringing back the topic of the date, she bit her tongue for a moment wondering if it was supposed to be a joke before she decided to test the waters “When are you free?” she responded and grinned as she pressed send.

Taealha only nodded when Ivy said they can only hope for the best, that's the only thing they can truly do, honestly. And she hopes that they wouldn't feel disappointed by the result later. At first, she was wondering if she was too forward and had that fear that she may have made Ivy uncomfortable with how open she was, especially when the human was rather on the board when they talked about meeting again. Hell, they even went to talk about possible dates and this was a girl she's barely known for an hour? But, in addition to that, the two of them did know quite a few about one another already, so does that give them a pass at this? She did know what she wanted to do next though, showing up on Fridays just because that means she may get to see the beauty in front of her again. Taealha blushed significantly when Ivy added the part where she was too precious for the world, oh she's good at this flirtation game. It wasn't even much of a game, but god does the human love being complimented and being the subject of Ivy's focus. That smile on her was infectious, it made her want to see more of them.

When asked if she had anything to surprise her with, Taealha pressed her lips together and frowned briefly because she was concentrating hard on trying to rake her mind, what would be surprising, she wonders. "I want to grow my own garden, a real one, one day" She did have her own mini garden back home but it was nothing compared to the greenhouses or gardens she dreamt about, "One day, I'll have a place where I can grow my flowers and plants. Then my pets can even play there… I get to pluck the flowers every morning and bring them with me to work so I can decorate my space. Maybe even a picnic with my lover… I love nature" It was ironic seeing as she's a scientist but she does study biology more than anything, so she thought it resonated well. "I want it to be very spacious... " She had big dreams, she knew that, but there was nothing wrong with dreaming big. Especially if you are ambitious. Her eyes did lit up at the mention of Venice though, "I think I'll add that to my list then."

The wink almost caught her off guard and Taealha was so sure she heard her heart beating even faster than before, "But I've never met a woman who wanted to date me, though" Was she trying her luck while teasing? Maybe. "So I think I'll need more than just hope to keep that thought going." She didn't expect petunias but now that she's mentioned it, Taealha couldn't help but picture petunias all around the other female, okay, it suits her. But then again, she was sure plenty suits Ivy. "Baby breath, I know it's cliche. But it symbolizes eternal love so… I guess you can peg me the hopeless romantic type" It was no secret that Taealha has, indeed, fantasized about plenty of things. She daydreams. "Nothing is truly too good to be true" she replied back with a smile. So far, they haven't disagreed on anything yet which makes her wonder if Ivy was even real to begin with. They had plenty of interests together and she had been so outgoing and kind this entire time, was Taealha imagining things? Is Ivy even there? "Plushies are too cute for their own good, I agree."

When Ivy tapped on her nose, Taealha blinked a few times innocently followed by a wide grin, which she also scrunched up her nose cutely in response to it. "Maybe they don't. Maybe they do. I don't know what to think about that… but I'm happy with the way I am now. Perhaps, they weren't wrong when they said that some things are better off left unsaid." Like her past. She is happy now, so why would she bother looking back? Hearing Ivy's story did make her frown slightly, I guess we both have family issues then" Only for her to return it with a reassuring smile as she placed her hand over Ivy's, "But that's okay. If you're happier now, I think it's better off making a life of your own. You need to love yourself first." Taealha bit her bottom lip and giggled softly, "Yours are too. That Aussie accent is a killer. Pretty sure you can melt people with them... " Because she knew she was one of those feeling very attacked by it right now. When was she free? Taealha found herself glancing back up at Ivy and shrugged cutely, "Today or any other days of the week except Monday, really. I have one cheat day every week to check out of work early. Why?" she leaned close and propped her elbows underneath to support her chin as she stared into the Initia's green optics, "Are you asking me out on a date? Or am I thinking too much on it? "

Hearing about how Taealha wanted to have her own garden made the Initia smile softly, she intended to have one of her own too someday considering how much energy being around the earth and plants gave her, plus it was a stunning thing to be able to look out your window and see every morning “And then you have to plant a fruit tree right in the middle so you can watch it grow bigger and stronger throughout the years and get excited when you get to try what you’ve grown” she nodded slightly with a smile “Personally I’d pick a cherry tree just for the blossom in the spring” trees always made stunning centerpieces for gardens “Not to mention a porch swing somewhere so you can sit and look over it” okay perhaps she was going too detailed but she did really love the idea of putting your soul into something like that, a place that would feel ‘yours’. “I honestly wish I had more time to spend with nature because there is nothing that makes me feel more relaxed” she commented in a soft voice, sometimes she was so busy she didn’t feel like she had time to stop and enjoy the little things.

Ivy was surprised but also not surprised by the admission that a woman had never wanted to date her, one the one side, the Initia was almost certain she must have caught a girl’s eye before, there was no way that had never happened but then also she knew how difficult it was to be upfront with your sexuality, Ivy struggled with that greatly “Oh I don’t know about that” she teased with a slight smile “You seem like the type who would always hold onto hope” she glanced up at her as she pressed sent on that message. The talk about flowers was fun, Ivy loved flowers and knew a lot about them and it was nice to be around someone who seemed to enjoy them just as much as she did “Who cares if it’s cliche if it’s what you like” she responded with a smile “They always remind me of the snow, just from the way the scatter of buds kinda looks like a blizzard to me” she wasn’t surprised that Taealha said she was a hopeless romantic type though, Ivy definitely got that impression from here “Well, it might be too good to be true this time of year” she added with a wry grin “But before we know it I’m sure spring will be here” and she was definitely looking forward to spring.

She grinned slightly when she said plushies were too cute “Do you have a favorite or would that be like trying to choose a favorite child?” she laughed to herself as she sent the message and looked up at her curious to see her reaction. Ivy had basically already confirmed her otter was one of her favorites “I also have a bear my mom gave me when I was young, he’s a little tattered now but still very much loved” one of the only gifts her mother gave her that actually felt like it meant something if she was honest. She nodded slightly “Well I think it’s very bold of you to be able to move on like that” most people would hold a grudge or doubt themselves and wonder what they did wrong, it took true strength to be able to move on and make the best of your life in spite of the past. She nodded as she read Taealha’s message about loving herself first, she supposed that was exactly what she had done, chose to put her choices and her career above everything “I used to worry about what sort of life I’d have on my own and when I first came to America I definitely struggled for a while but I think going through that helped me to find the things important to me” which meant everything.

She looked down at the hand that Taealha had placed on top of hers and smiled, lifting her thumb to rub gently against the back of her hand as a thanks for her empathy before she pulled her hand away because she needed it to type and continue their conversation. She giggled slightly when she complimented her accent “Well this one is my real accent but I’m actually pretty good at doing others too” she grinned slightly “any you wanna hear? I can do a pretty good British accent and you’d struggle to know I’m Australian if you heard my American” she always enjoyed accents and because she usually played American characters, she could switch into that accent almost as easily as breathing. She saw the way Taealha cutely shrugged when she asked about when she was free and laughed to herself, looking down at her phone and waiting for a message in response “Well, I’m not sure a garden is possible but they have this really beautiful indoor greenhouse and butterfly sanctuary on the outskirts of the city” she pressed her lips together for a moment “So yes, I guess I am” she opened up the page for the gardens on her phone, showing their evening opening times and slid it across the table for the other girl to inspect.

After a moment she pulled the phone back over the table so they could resume their conversation, truthfully Ivy hadn’t felt so uplifted by a conversation in a long time, there was something about Taealha and her presence which just drew the Initia in and every time that little warning in her head said she should probably be getting home it was cut off because she was just so content with talking “So you said you’re a scientist” she typed out with a soft smile “Did you always see yourself as one or was there something which made you lean down that road?” she always got the feeling with scientists that they were trying to save the world in one way or another which she really respected but she was curious to know more about Taealha’s motivations.

It was clear that Ivy also had the same dreams to have her own garden from the way she talked about it, throughout the entire time, the human was busy laying her chin on top of her hand that was perched on the table, gazing effortlessly at the female sitting before her. What an attractive girl. And she likes gardening too, obviously. Which was a big bonus pointer in Taealha's list. "Fruit tree, huh? I wonder what kind… what's your favorite fruit? Or if there are any fruit trees you would like to plant in the future? Aside from cherries" Maybe, they can even make a joint establishment on those goals, from what she can see, it wasn't that different. What Ivy wanted, Taealha also found herself wanting. "You're too busy to spend your time with nature… isn't that the reality of the world we live in?" she chuckled and wondered if she was able to score another time with Ivy, to bring her over to also enjoy the nature she also wanted to bask herself in. "You're right, I am the type to hold onto hope. I fantasize a lot of things, unregrettably and shamelessly so. I know what I want and I strive to have it. So far, so good. Except the thing about the relationship department, I don't think crushing on my French lab supervisor is going to get me anywhere."

Taealha wasn't stupid to put her hopes on people she knew wouldn't spare a glance at her. "I know when to back down from a fight that is bound to make me lose more than what I could gain." She noticed how the Initia's eyes lit up upon mentioning flowers, and from the way she described the dandelions alone gave Taealha the impression that she wasn't just walking the talk. "Can't wait for spring to come." The raven-haired female shook her head and looked as if Ivy just told her to pick which of her children are the best, "I don't think I can choose without feeling immensely guilty afterwards… but, if I was forced to bring only one with me, I'd choose my raccoon plushie. Raccoons are cute." Personally, she always thought raccoons wore too much eyeliner as a kid. Her eyes softened visibly when she heard that Ivy still kept the bear she received from her mother, "At least you have something. I don't think I have anything left of my family… well, except the bookmark I brought with my favorite book back then." All Taealha seemed to have before her name change, was her name. But now there was no Yara, just Taealha, and she intends to stay that way.

"I think when we started venturing into something we have no idea would turn out to be like for the first time, our endorphins get overrode. But that's just my nerdy self jumping out which I'll stop before you have to hear some incorrigible stuff about how our hormones are handled." She swore her breath hitched when Ivy brushed against her hand soothingly, she had to say this was probably the first. A stranger wouldn't be so touchy but they're no longer strangers, are they? And in her defense, they were consoling one another. "I would love to hear, but I have to say Aussie accent is probably going to stick with being my favorite because… I like Aussies in general" Who doesn't? Taealha practically dragged the phone near and widened her eyes tenfold when she saw the pictures, they were beautiful and definitely aesthetically pleasing. It doesn't take much to impress Taealha who really loves nature, but a sanctuary like that was bound to keep her tied inside forever until someone drags her out.

"That is so pretty… how come I have no idea such a place existed? I've lived here for years? I grew up here... " she gaped and refused to digest the information she received, though it doesn't mean she wasn't going to believe it. "Are you saying there's a chance we can… go there?" By the time she glanced back at the Initia, Taealha was already staring at her with genuine curiosity, so that's how a puppy personified looks like. Taealha was ecstatic to talk about her profession since nobody really cared about it, but Ivy did ask, which meant she wants to know, right? "When I was a little girl, my grandmother always told me about how humans have this thing called endorphins… it manipulates how you feel towards a person or yourself. As a kid, I really thought it was a faerie messing with our heads. So I tried to investigate more about the faerie, when I finally resumed my interest in my early teens, I realized that no one should ever feel hopeless because they don't know how to help themselves" A person's will is still the strongest weapon any individual can ever hope to have.

"I think the world is unfair, but I also think we needed challenges to be better. Or else, we'll never evolve. I wanted to show everyone that intelligence and knowledge will never die. That we can do so many good things with it. Hey, if cell regeneration becomes possible, the medical world would be so much better. I don't want to focus on what humans would do with such power, I want to focus on the goodness it can bring." She wouldn't stop smiling and totally realized that it was long-ish later, "Sorry… I kinda spaced out. That one was probably boring hahaha… Though I am curious... Why the entertainment industry for you?"

Ivy grinned to herself slightly when Taealha asked what her favorite fruit was “Well actually my very favorite doesn’t grow on trees, strawberries” she pursed her lips for a moment as she thought about what tree she might plant “Well apples are always a good bet and you can get all different kinds” she shrugged slightly as she hit send, picturing this imaginary garden in her head because all of their ideas seemed to come together into a beautiful scene she could almost see even though it didn’t exist. “What about you? Do you have a favorite?” Ivy often found it hard to pick just one when she was asked her favorite of anything because she tended to love them all. Her message about being too busy to stop and enjoy the little things made her nod before she typed her reply “Preach” she responded and chuckled.

She laughed as she read the message about having a crush of her French lab supervisor “Well I hope they’re cute enough to stare at, at least?” she giggled softly because she was always one to notice someone attractive and given the industry she worked in, she pretty much saw gorgeous women daily. “Me too” she echoed on the topic of looking forward to the spring, or just any kind of temperature rise would be nice at this point honestly. It did make her pull an amused expression “Your favorite animal cannot be a trash panda” she responded with a shocked emoji though it was clear that she was joking around with her “Clearly you’ve never met one going through your bins in the middle of the night before” she giggled because she had a clear memory of that happening to her, stupid thing had almost managed to bite her too. “Honestly, it sounds like you’re better without them” which was a harsh thing to say but she had heard literally nothing good about Taealha’s parents in the time they had been talking.

She laughed softly as she glanced up at Taealha, she wasn’t kidding when she was into her science but Ivy didn’t mind “Oh, by all means, talk nerdy to me, I’d much rather hear you talk about science than any of the small talk most people come out with” that was why she never had much patience for others, there was only so many times she could tolerate being asked how her mother was or other senseless questions of the same sort. “Oh please, you’re just being biased because you know that is my natural accent” she teased it with a chuckle before switched to speaking, reeling through from the standard American accent to one from the south to a distinctly New Yorker and then she did a few European countries, English, Scottish, and German by the time she was done she was laughing softly because it was a little embarrassing performing to someone she just met who wasn’t a judge for an audition.

Seeing the way Taealha lit up as she looked at the pictures of the butterfly garden made the Initia smile and when she took back her phone she grinned as she typed a response “Stick with me, I know so many hidden spots in Evermore” she laughed softly, she was the kind of person who enjoyed a little bit of research when it came to spending her time and while she spent most of it back home in front of the TV, she had a few little secret hideaways, much like this little coffee shop with a back entrance. She looked up at Taealha when she received her message asking if they could go there “How about Saturday afternoon?” she wasn’t sure they opened in the evenings very late plus she was sure it looked better in the day when you could see better.

It was kinda awe-inspiring, reading the little paragraph that Taealha sent about the work that she did and what she believed in, most people, when you asked them why they did what they did, would answer something like it was what they did best in at school or their parents did it so to see such a deep and thought out explanation really made the Initia feel like she was breathing fresh air. “That’s so beautiful” she responded immediately before thinking and typing more “I always kinda had this belief that everyone who went into science wanted to save the world in one way or another and hearing that from you only makes me believe it even more” she grinned slightly sheepishly “Don’t downplay your interests, people are most attractive when they talk about something they’re passionate about” she nodded slightly as she lifted her gaze to meet hers.

“Well most people would call the entertainment industry superficial but for me, it’s always been about stories, stories are the thing you can latch onto when you need some kind of escape in the world” she nodded a few times “And I’m useless at writing so I went for something I felt like I could contribute and help to bring stories to everyone who needs them” she smiled to herself “Sometimes you just need something heartwarming to get through a bad day or you need something sad to let out your emotions” those were the kinds of projects she liked to take on, ones with deep and complex characters that touched people’s hearts in one way or another.

The moment Ivy told the human what her favorite fruit was, Taealha bit her bottom lip in an attempt to refrain the giddy squeal from running out because the human could eat a fridge full of strawberries without being tired out. "You know… it's funny how you always seemed to exceed my expectations… not that I was already putting a shroud over you to judge or something, it's just that I didn't think you would answer this or that because it would've been too much of a coincidence" No wonder Taealha felt comfortable to converse with the Initia that only ever seemed to exude a strong energy of humility and the fresh calming air you can feel the breeze of after the morning dew. That's how she felt the entire time. "You can probably stock my fridge with strawberries and I would find a way to finish it before the weekend." The talk about strawberries suddenly made her stomach grumble hungrily, no doubt because the human hasn't eaten since lunch which had been a little over a few hours ago.

Her dark optics caught sight of the strawberry cupcake Ivy had ordered earlier that she still has yet to have a taste and pulled the plate towards her timidly and proceeded to take the first bite. Her eyes lit up almost instantly as she followed by a few more bites, "This is actually really good... " When Ivy asked her what her favorite fruit was, Taealha had to take a few seconds to think since she would pretty much eat every fruit there is, "Well, I have a fond spot for strawberries but that's applied to pretty much other fruits too, yes I also eat cherry tomatoes as a midnight snack, but I do like mangoes a lot. The sweet ones. No offense to the soury ones but I like my sweetness" She purposely stared at Ivy with a wry grin as if she was implying that the other female is as sweet. The talk about her French lab supervisor made her blush deeply and she actually attempted to cover her cheeks with her hands because she could feel herself growing beet red, "She is… very easy on the eyes. Pretty. Smart. Confident. Bossy. Maybe I have a type" she giggled and added a blushing emoji to her response.

Taealha literally gasped out loud and dropped her fork against the plate where the cupcake was already half eaten the moment Ivy calling raccoons trash pandas. "Excuse you, trash pandas or not, they're pretty cute… yes I've encountered a few that ended up being hissy but still… cute. Trash pandas needed some love the same way people gush over pandas too, you know" She went to her gallery and attached a cute raccoon gif. There was a small smile settled on her lips when Ivy entwined she was better off without her family, ain't that the truth, she murmured silently. "Careful, Ivy, when you allow me to talk about science you may never hear the end of it" Which was the truth considering Taealha had a section of pent up questions to her studies, which she was immensely grateful that she was given a platform to do something about it in the Organization. Throughout the entire time Ivy impressed her with a wide selection of accents, Taealha continued to finish her cupcake while laughing in between as she gawked at how effortlessly the other female seemed to display her talentry. "I may be biased but I still like Aussie accent the most. Facts."

The thought of finding more spots in Evermore that was hidden from other people fueled her need for discovery even more. "Saturday afternoon. You better show up" she narrowed her hues playfully at the brunette across her as her heart leaped enthusiastically for Saturday. Hearing it from Ivy only cemented her ambitions to make something good for the world, one day, people will be able to use what she created too and she will finally see the good it brings them. Genetic engineering was one thing she is working on to find which part of them were able to mold with a few healing properties from supernaturals. "Nobody's understood what I'm raving about most of the time but you always seemed to surprise me" Suffice to say, Taealha feels appreciated. Hearing Ivy pour her heart out regarding her choice to opt for the entertainment industry made her smile grew as she pressed a reassuring squeeze against her hand, "That's inspirational. You should continue doing what you love, it's likely to find yourself making miracles there."

Ivy grinned a little as Taealha pointed out that she kept surprising her with the answers she gave to her questions “No coincidences, I just like what I like” she responded it with an angel emoji and smiled, glancing up at the dark-haired female just to watch her while she typed out her next message, she made this cute little focused expression when she was thinking about what she wanted to say which the Initia found endearing. Reading her message about being able to eat a full fridge of strawberries made Ivy chuckle before responding “It does depend on the strawberries, it has to be the right ones, the really juicy sweet ones are the best, especially with cream” she nodded a few times “I might even be able to race you on finishing that entire fridge honestly” she could admittedly be somewhat of an addict when it came to food, it was hard to just eat one of something.

She had to smile when she saw Taealha finally go to try the cupcake she had bought for her earlier, her drink was more lukewarm than hot now because she had been so focused on talking with the other girl she forgot to drink it but she lifted it to her lips and finished off the last of it before setting it back down on the table “They make them fresh every day” she responded with a smile when she commented on how good it was, she liked supporting local businesses and this was definitely one of her favorite. “I’m not sure what’s cuter, the fact that you called it soury or the fact you have an evident sweet tooth” she laughed softly, not missing the implication behind the tone but also not missing a beat with her response, maybe she was better at this flirting thing than she thought. Seeing her point out things she liked in a person did make the Initia wonder how well they applied to herself for a moment, she grinned “Ah! So you must be a big Katie McGrath fan then” she teased knowing that she often played roles that fit that exact type.

She widened her eyes for a moment because she was surprised by Taealha’s shocked reaction when she made a joke about raccoons, it seemed like these particular animals definitely had a soft spot in her heard “Ah! I had no idea that you were a trash panda rights activist” she responded and laughed softly as she looked back at her, she still didn’t get the appeal but she then looked down to see the picture of the raccoon she had sent, it was kinda cute, the way it pawed at the grapes “You couldn’t have picked red pandas? Those are pretty cute” she responded sending back a picture of a red panda to counter the discussion, at this point, it would become a cute animal gif war and honestly? She was okay with that. “Maybe that’s my play” she responded to the comment about how when she started talking about science she would never stop. Ivy liked reading the things she had to say, even though she couldn’t talk, she had no problem connecting with her or getting to know her this way and frankly, it took a lot of pressure off. After finishing her accents she gave a little bow and grinned at her comment about liking Aussie the most “Aussie it is then” she responded adding a crown emoji to the end.

She swore her heart leapt in her chest a little when she read those words confirming she’d be there on Saturday afternoon “Who would ever stand you up?” she responded and pulled a shocked expression because someone would really have to be insane to pass up a chance to get to know such a deep and passionate seeming person. They’d only been here for about 2 hours now and she felt like she’d barely even scratched the surface “I mean don’t get me wrong if you start talking about equations and scientific laws I will definitely go full question mark on you but” she pursed her lips as she thought about how she wanted to describe what she saw “You make whatever it is you’re talking about seem so important that it’s hard not to get sucked in by you” she hoped that made at least a little sense. She glanced down at her hand when she squeezed it and smiled “I hope I can, the thought of being able to deliver a little of that to quite literally anyone is why I do what I do” she nodded slightly “Do you have somewhere to be or do you want to get another drink?” cause honestly at this point Ivy was planning to stay until closing or Taealha left, whichever came first. Maybe she’d even be brave and get whiskey in her next drink.

As soon as those words came out of her, Taealha heard a distinct voice inside her own head saying 'and I like you' which would've been quite the line had she wrote it down on her phone but she didn't. She would've embarrassed herself if she had gone with it Taealha fluttered her eyes closed briefly while imagining the strawberries invading her mind before opening them back to stare at the brunette across her, "That would be such a heaven... " There was no doubt that Ivy could even beat her in such a battle but the human knows nothing that indicated giving up in her dictionary, it simply does not exist. The strawberry cupcake was filling, it was freshly baked, exactly like what Ivy told her earlier, and now she couldn't stop herself from finishing it until she realized with her eyes wide that Ivy may have wanted a bite but now she's finished it. The human scrambled to get her phone on the table that actually fell down, resulting in her going down the table to retrieve it, only to find herself meeting the table when she raised herself up because she forgot there was one above her.

Taealha let out a whimper and got back on her seat while rubbing the sore spot on her head, "Sorry, did you want to have a bite? I'm sorry I finished it… I forgot that you may have wanted it too" Her cheeks were practically flamed up with embarrassment. But it didn't render from replying when Ivy called her cute, she never shies away from a compliment, after all, "Why do we always have to opt or choose only one? Can't I be both? I'd be cute either way regardless of which it is, right?" Hearing Ivy throw the name Katie McGrath had the human hitting her knees against the table because of her reflex, "Uh, sorry, I got too excited but yes, I'm a big fan of her. Dare I say, I'm sure I salivate while watching her portray all those characters." She likes what she likes. Apparently, Taealha had taken the name to be trash panda either way so she didn't retaliate on behalf of the name given, "They're still cute."

The mention of red pandas made her eyes lit up because they were, in fact, quite cute, "They're cute, yes, but trash pandas need some love too and they can be very… fluffy, when… the time allows it." Yeah she's never witnessed one who didn't hiss at her, but there were cute ones online so she figured they exist somehow. When the Initia said it any her be intention to have her keep raving about science, Taealha bit her lip and giggled, "Look at you go. Trying to distract me, bad Ivy." She's never been on any date and whilst the human had some expectations, she doubted anyone would spare their time for someone like her so when Ivy expressed her surprise, she could feel her heart thump, "Maybe because I don't have much to offer." She couldn't even hold a decent conversation verbally. "So I'm not surprised if anyone would even stand me up. Completely understandable, you know?"

Ivy has shown her what others still have yet to display and she is loving every moment of it, she didn't even want to think about anything else, her eyes wouldn't stop smiling towards the lovely Initia. "You're so passionate. It's beautiful." When asked if she had anywhere else to be, Taealha glanced over to the clock in the room, oh, she didn't want to leave. Besides, she can spare a few more hours. "No. I don't have anywhere else to be at and I would love to have another drink with you" she typed and grinned admiringly, "So surprise me."

Ivy liked how unfiltered Taealha seemed to be, from the things she said to the way she just went straight ahead and devoured the cupcake pretty much the moment she tasted it, she was used to being around people who turned this noses up at food and acted like they were better than most things so it was refreshing to see someone accept something for what it was. “They are heaven, too bad you can only get them at certain times of year” she pouted slightly, strawberries were a very seasonal fruit and the best ones were only available for a few months before the tasteless ones came back to haunt them. She laughed when Taealha polished off the whole thing and then apologized for not offering to share it “No, I can get them whenever I want to and it was much better seeing you enjoy it” such a simple gift and yet she felt the happy seeing the human enjoy it like it was something special.

Though it didn’t escape her notice that she’d hit her head on the table “Are you okay? That sounded like it hurt” she softened her gaze slightly as she watched the other girl from across the table noting how she was trying to play off the pain she no doubt felt from that mishap. She widened her eyes when she heard the crack against the table after she mentioned Katie McGrath and the Initia laughed softly “Oh, that big of a fan huh?” she raised her brow curiously and smirked slightly before typing her own admission “She’s kinda been my celebrity crush since Merlin” she pretended to fan herself at those words but she wasn’t kidding, if there was one celebrity she got to work with and wouldn’t be able to cope around, it would definitely be with her.

All this talk about cute animals was making her smile, she loved animals and earth and nature and everything that came along with it, it did make her wonder why she chose to diversify over becoming a master sometimes but she was sure she would find joy in some other elements too “I’ll believe it when I see a single one in real life that doesn’t go through my bins and then try and attack me” she narrowed her eyes for a moment, living in Australia she had definitely faced her fair share of random critters that would attack you so it wasn’t like she couldn’t cope with it or anything. Ivy gave a mischievous grin when Taealha told her off for distracting “And yet the simple fact you’re still here tells me you might have wanted a little distraction” or a lot of distraction, honestly it was nice to get out of real life for a little while and just enjoy talking with someone new. Ivy shook her head, almost in shock from Taealha’s message as she stared at her from across the table “Not understandable, completely rude and indecent” she responded in a short message which she hoped got across over decided she was on that “I’ve known you for a total of” she looked at her clock on her phone almost shocked by how fast time went “2 hours and 12 minutes and I already know for sure you have a lot to offer” she shook her head slightly.

Ivy did blush a little when Taealha said she was passionate and she nodded a little giving a grateful smile before typing out her reply “Some people tell me my dreams are too big for this world to contain” she confessed with a smile, happy to read that the other girl didn’t have anywhere to be this evening and they could continue to talk she got to her feet and headed over to the counter asking for 2 orders of coffee because she was sure they were going to need the caffeine at some point and then she asked specially if they had any real strawberries which they used to make the cupcakes and thankfully Fabricio handed her a couple on a dish, when she came back to the table she grinned before placing it between them “You have to share this one though” she picked her strawberry up leaving the other one for Taealha and ate it before she got to typing again “So we’ve already established I love movies, but do you? And if so which one is your go-to” everyone had that one movie they had watched more times than anyone should watch a single movie right?

Today was just supposed to be her regular cheat day, she would've been happy getting a few hours to herself where she wasn't constantly surrounded by people who would look over her shoulder every 5 minutes to see how she's doing rather than looking at what she's working on, it was a refreshing period for the human and as much as she would love to spend the last few hours of her day at home snuggling up to her Ragdoll cat, Leo, she definitely didn't mind spending her hours with this female she only just met a while ago. It didn't take her long to peg Ivy as someone very interesting. When was the last time she actually enjoyed talking to someone that is not work related? Her last blind date, for sure. That unsurprisingly, failed the human. Yet again. There was a reason why she called it quits with dates like that. "Strawberries are seasonal fruits, and for that, I find them even more delectable" she grinned, "I believe everything beautiful is a limited edition. Very exclusive. So those who are able to possess the chance to have it, would be extremely lucky." With the way she was staring at Ivy as soon as she hit the send button would have anyone thinking she meant those words for her too.

"It makes them so unique." The injury she sustained from the hit was nothing more than a minor bruise, and knowing Taealha who is prone to a few more injuries such as that inside or outside the lab, it wasn't surprising. "Yes, yes I'm… okay" she rubbed the sore spot on her head as an attempt to soothe it as she settled back in her seat, sparing Ivy a rather sheepish grin to cover the scarlet red hue that was dancing on the apple of her cheeks, no doubt resulting from the embarrassment earlier. "Thank you for the cupcake, it was very delicious." Of course, she didn't forget to thank the Initia for the gift she received. For someone who wasn't used to receiving gifts like this, it means everything to her. Her eyes widened in excitement when Ivy expressed her admiration for the actress, it didn't take her long to type her response giddily, "Please, she can step on me and I'd say thank you... " Was she proclaiming her love for the said actress? Pretty much.

She wasn't wrong though, even the ones she's met had hissed at her and she was sure it would've attacked her if she stayed any longer. Animals like that can feel very territorial and paranoid. "I guess they were right when they said Aussies witness so many happenings in their country. No wonder they're so brave" she perched her elbows on the table and placed her chin on her hands while batting her eyelashes at the brunette cutely, "Now I know who'll be my savior if the trash pandas decided to stage a coup d'etat and overthrow me" Her range of imagination was amazing. A stupid grin matched her eyesmile when Ivy pointed out that she wanted this distraction,  "Yes. I wanted this. What to do, you've exposed me" she feigned her gasp but covering her mouth, only to chuckle afterwards.

The fact that Ivy finds her a good company as she continued to surprise her by reassuring her that she was worth it unlike her previous experiences, Taealha found herself smiling, "And I you. I've only met you for two hours and yet you've shown me more than anyone I've known for years, that it's always worth it. " She saw the irony when Ivy told her people used to tell her that her dreams were too big, "The same thing they said to me. And yet it only became my motivation. I promised myself that I will prove all those voices wrong and it's been one hell of a ride." When the Initia came back with a plate of fresh strawberries, Taealha could feel herself salivating at the sight of it, "Of course" she too, took one from the plate and plopped it into her mouth, the sweetness was melting in her mouth as she moaned out softly against the texture. Her go-to movie? "The Notebook. Call me what you want but that movie makes me sad… and the novel even so" she coughed, yes, she was filled with plenty of good imaginations. "Is it too cliche?"
