As she stared out over the counter of her store, she was hit with a sense of disbelief. This was her store, she had done this, she had worked for months to make enough stock to fill the place, she had gone and gotten the loan she needed for the retail, she had designed the layout and placed each item carefully to give it the attention it deserved and here at the end of her first week running her new store she was feeling good. Much to her luck, because of the area and the time of year she had tracked a lot of foot traffic into her little place over the past few days and she had made a few big sales too. It was a great encouragement to finish the rest of the garments she had started over the past day or so, she thought as she turned out the lights for today and locked up the front door.

It was a decent trek between the shop and the Celestial castle but she didn’t mind, the star was used to spending her time alone so she never really cared much for the 30-minute walk. It was chilly tonight though and she was glad she had her coat so that she wouldn’t end up with a cold, you’d think after everything a Celestial is weak to they’d at least be given resistance to illness but that was sadly not the case. She had been walking about 10 minutes when she felt the urge to look over her shoulder, she turned to face behind her but nothing was there. If there was anything she had learned from her years spent on the run it was how to know when someone was following her though so she quickened her pace trying to head back towards the more well-lit roads.

She had been right however, someone had been tailing her. She wasn’t exactly sure what they wanted with her and she didn’t intend on asking, the moment the male stepped out from the shadows and grabbed her shoulder was the moment she went into action. The Wayfinder might seem rational and sweet most of the time but this male would quickly learn that her survival instincts were sharp and would fight any blow he decided to throw at her. “What do you want from me?” she yelled at him while blocking a blow he tried to make to her stomach, the guy gave a slimy grin “What everyone wants from a fallen star” he responded smugly which made her blood boil, she was caught off for a moment when he pulled out a blade and slashed across her hand causing it to bleed immediately and her to cry out in pain. She knew at this point her emotions were getting high, meaning that her natural Celestial glow was brightening but she wasn’t going to lose to some street thug with a knife.

She looked around for a moment making sure that no one was actually around before she drew her Celestial energy to her and in one flash of light so fast that most would never even see it, she sent him flying across the way and he crash-landed against a dumpster. Her attention turned to her hand which was still bleeding pretty badly was she watched him make a run for it, it wasn’t like there was anywhere here to catch him and she didn’t have any way to apprehend him so instead she focused on trying to remember his features while she fell to a crouch, checking the wound to make sure it was clean and looking around for somewhere she could go to get it cleaned up. Her breathing started to quicken as she looked down at the cut, she knew it wasn’t a big deal but it had been so long since she was targeted and attacked that she really thought she was past it and this had been a very sudden reminder that a Celestial was never truly safe in the city. The more she tried to get control of her breathing the more panicky and shaky it got and the moment she heard footsteps coming towards her she stood up, getting on her guard and ready to blast the guy who had no doubt come back for more.

"Well, if you need anyone to speak to for fluency or proficiency matters, I'm here. I think I've learnt plenty of those that I've come across over the years" Linguisitics was another thing Celia found herself falling in love with, especially when she's been traveling a lot throughout her entire life. She's always trailed after Gideon, there wasn't a place he's been at that she hadn't. "Do you know Italian?" she asked curiously, she was wondering if Ophelia does, and would be more than enthusiastic to give a few lessons simply because she likes hearing people talking in her native tongue, and maybe because it's Ophelia. There was something about her that Ce has yet to pinpoint. "Point taken, they'd soon find no more use of their mouths if they dare to utter it out. But I guess I can be someone's… Cece. Only if there's a Fifi." She was willing to compromise too.

"Nature does have a weird way to telling things to us, that's for sure." They were meant to be so far from each other considering their differences, yet nature prompted them to make a bond that will allow them to coexist together. The protected and the protector. It was incredibly poetic from her viewpoint. There was slight resentment towards her own since she was the first, but aside from that, she was fine. "I wanted to live a worthwhile life. Nor a good one specifically because I don't think that's in store for me, but… something I could look back at and relish in, knowing I had a life that I wouldn't trade for anything else. I don't have a lot of important things in my life so this… this is something for me." Something she chose to hung onto.

At first, she thought her question was too insensitive and was ready to withdraw but then Phe answered, leaving the Italian to nod knowingly, "It sounds like its very important to you. I hope you'll never lose it." To have something that was a part of you taken away? How hurtful that must've been. She's never had anyone ask her that, if she had a dream. It actually rendered the Valkyr speechless for a brief while. "I'd lie if I said I didn't have a dream to fulfill. But that dream's long gone. I can't even recall what it was, which meant it must've been so long ago. But I do know that I wanted to do good to someone, anyone." One person would've sufficed. "I want the fighting to stop. It's exhausting, you know. Fighting. It's just… very energy consuming, I'm not even sure if I'm strong enough to withstand it again. And again. Maybe I wanted to take a back seat and enjoy my life. Find someone, not that I'm in need of a desperate time like that, but that'll be nice."

When she looked back at her actions, it was amusing because she remembered she made plenty of names back in the day, "Mhmm, something like that. They spill when I ask, they probably had no idea they've divulged. One time, I think people been called me a succubus back in the day. Those stories of fishmonger wives telling their husbands not to venture to taverns and stay late for she'll feast on them after fulfilling their desires." It didn't take her long to realize most people couldn't deny carnal pleasure. "I've always been a healer. It may not be me 24/7 anymore but that part of me will never leave, I think. I did die because I was busy trying to heal people… maybe something enhanced that." And she's never regretted it. "No, liking chocolate is nothing bad. Don't be shy about it. Though I now know that one of your weaknesses would be chocolate" she cooed teasingly, "Is it possible to bribe you with a chocolate then?"

It was then that their drinks arrived first, Ce had requested some red wine because she needed to get through the day without going full craving mode and alcohol always makes up for curbing it in, "Would you like some?"

She grinned slightly when she offered to help her practice language proficiency, Ophelia had always enjoyed learning new things and so she had done some diving into many subjects and she very much enjoyed the opportunity to practice what she learned “Only a few words and phrases” she responded with a serene smile, she had picked up bits and pieces of many different languages but rarely learned one to complete fluency because of the lack of practice, as an immortal a lot of things came and went in your mind and before long you forgot about them. It didn’t take long for Ce to come around to the idea of a new nickname, especially after she pointed out that people were probably a little afraid of her “So we’re a crazy pair of embarrassing nicknames” she responded and laughed softly “Such a duo we make” she teased and shook her head slightly, Fifi, that was actually kinda cute.

“I’ve learned that sometimes it’s better not to question it so much and to simply give in to what it wants” she chuckled softly, she didn’t know if it was nature or the stars above which gave her this natural intuition but she always had a feeling about what she should do in a situation and usually when she followed it things worked out for the best. Of course, there were times when it was wrong but she still felt completely foreign whenever she went against it. She pulled a conflicted face when she heard Celia say that a good life wasn’t necessarily in store for her “You don’t think you deserve a good life?” she asked it in a soft voice because it was interesting to her, she had always wanted some kind of happy life but she always felt this burden or warning inside her saying the moment she allowed herself to be happy everything was going to crumble around her.

Phe wasn’t the type to ever get offended by another person asking questions, curiosity was a good thing in her eyes, it meant someone was interested enough in the topic to actually ask about it and she enjoyed that “It is important” she responded and her hand naturally reached over to cover it for a moment, just holding onto it and feeling the strength that it brought her “It’s hard to describe how much but you could imagine it like holding my heart in my hand” if she ever entrusted someone to care for it, it would be such a deep level of trust which went beyond what words could say. She noted the way that Ce seemed so shocked by the question she asked her which made Phe tilt her head to the side curiously as she took in her answer “Your dream sounds kinda vague” she commented honestly and then smiled “But I guess that makes it work because you won’t need one specific situation to be happy” she nodded thoughtfully, you could probably phrase it another way “Your dream is to be happy” she added and nodded her head.

The Valkyr’s confidence in what she did was definitely intriguing to the Wayfinder, she had never been the type to use her beauty to get her anything, though she did know she was relatively pretty “Are people really that hooked after one night?” she asked it curiously because that was some serious talent if she could get people to spill secrets which could fell entire kingdoms in one night. Then again, it was Cecilia so she wouldn’t actually be surprised. She smiled softly when she said being a healer had always been a part of her “You are an interesting collection of talents” she commented with a soft laugh “But it seems to me like you can’t resist helping someone in need” she observed as she nodded slightly “That or I’m really special” she laughed scrunching her nose as she leaned back in her chair.

When their drinks arrived she thanked the waiter, wrapping her hand around the sweet iced tea she had been brought and then taking a long slip of it “Oh no that’s okay, alcohol and me end up with some crazy things happening and I’m still not over the last hangover I had” of course she didn’t still have the headache but just the idea of drinking made her feel a little nauseous “Note to self, don’t drink with the guardian, he will bury you” and she thought her tolerance was decent before.

"Well, those few words and phrases are about to be sentences and who knows, next thing comes and you're already fluent" Now she's determined to teach the Wayfinder some Italian, because why not? It was a subject they found interest in; learning new things. Perhaps, Ophelia could also teach her something. "In return, do you have something you can teach me? Making a dress, perhaps?" She had that wry smirk plastered all over her lips, it was clear that the Valkyr could be extremely playful when given. It's also a good distraction from her previous encounter with her own hunger. Thank god for self control. The nicknames were unexpected but surprisingly, both of them were fine with it and Ce found herself growing fond at the thought of being called so endearingly such as that.

"I think we're a cute duo, an interesting mix of two, don't you?" Especially when the two are so different when it comes down to personality wise. Ophelia and Cecilia were two very different people yet they found a way to strike an interest in one another. "Simply give in, if you try giving people advice by using that, some fairy godmother would surely chastise you on your choice of words, Phe" she jested teasingly, it sounded like it could go both ways, "But I do think that you're not wrong at that. Sometimes there is no use of fighting when you know the possibility is not even near. Why fight a losing one?" Philosophy can be quite intriguing as a whole, something Celia never thought of bringing around but the mere moments she's spent with the Celestial, had made her question plenty of things already.

"I don't think I deserve to ask for much" she corrected and chewed her bottom lip lightly, "Before all of this, I like to think I actually led a good one. I thought I had a shot at happiness, everything was fine. Too good to be true. Until it wasn't. So I learned not to put my hopes too high on something that can change so easily, I can't handle another broken heart." She wasn't denying them, of course. But she wasn't hoping either. Her gaze followed her hand that was very near Phe's own and stiffened slightly, not because she was not used to such skinship but more to the fact that Ce felt warm; that was weird. "Poetic" she pointed out wryly, she could understand how important some things could be. Your dream is to be happy, those words rang in her head and that made the Valkyr chuckled, "Mhmm, something like that. I want to be happy. I want to be content with what I do." And she thinks she is. Happy, just a bit but it's there.

The innocence and naivety that shrouded the Celestial Wayfinder always amused her greatly, she's always had an eye out for certain type of innocence to an individual, Ophelia seemed to accentuate every part of it. "Sometimes you never know what you craved until you've had it. I simply give in what they thought was nothing and turn it into something. It's easy to get addicted to something you can't have. Or someone, in that particular sense" Her gentle laugh carried over the room like melodic wisps, "I can show you if you'd let me" she teased, you can never really take the flirt out of the Italian Valkyr, truly. Celia pretended to ponder on what Phe said and winked playfully, "Mhmmm, very special indeed. I wonder why. I'm not saying I'll abandon people who are in need but… I don't necessarily try to cover up things for them either. Or stay with them to make sure they're totally fine."

Once their drinks arrived, Celia thanked the waiter and poured herself one before playing around with the handle of the glass, "So you're a lightweight? Cute. How many drinks do I need to get you drunk?" It was obviously a harmless question, what better way to get to know someone casually? "The Guardian? You mean Atticus? Yeah… he's quite the drinker." She would know. "I'm curious though, for someone who seemed so… romantic, are you pining over anyone? It's hard to believe someone so pretty like you would stay single."

She smiled brightly when she talked about being able to learn a new language in time “Well in that case I’ll look forward to learning a few things” she never really had much chance to learn many new languages because she was always moving and there wasn’t time to get attached to the local language. English sufficed her in most of her life, mixed with a few phrases she learned here and there from different languages “Oh I’m not sure I can give my trade secrets away” she spoke it softly and grinned “But I can show you a little about archery or blacksmithing if you’d like” Ophelia made a lot of her own headdresses and jewelry through what she learned over the years and it was a skill which never really left her. She did wonder if Celia would be surprised by the things she said she was good at though.

“Not a pairing I’d expect to see together that is sure, you could probably call us opposites” Celia was a Valkyr, an embodiment of darkness, Ophelia was a Celestial, one of light. Celia was confident and open about herself and her wants, Ophelia was much more reserved and formal. Still, they seemed to understand one another and what they had been through, that came from both being immortal and experiencing the strain of an immortal life, you tended to have much in common with others which had seen the world spinning around them while they remained the same. “Well then maybe my intuition is off, my life could hardly be described as a fairytale so I’m not sure how much I believe in fairy godmothers” she gave an amused look in Ce’s direction and smiled softly. “I guess sometimes all there is, is fighting, if we’re not fighting we may as well lay down and die” she did her best to fight because that’s all there was for her and her people, if she wasn’t fighting for their rights and their lives, what was she even doing?

Phe’s gaze softened a little when she head Ce say she didn’t think she deserved to ask for much “Just because life dealt you a rough hand til now doesn’t mean you’re short of being owed happiness” she spoke softly, shaking her head because she didn’t believe for a moment that anyone was in the place where they couldn’t be happy. She pressed her lips together when she said she couldn’t handle a broken heart again. She felt that. “That I understand” she spoke softly as she glanced down to the floor and sighed “Sometimes I feel like every time happiness is in my grasp, some kind of curse comes along to ruin it” she had lost a lot of people she felt attached to in her life and two people she had told she loved ended up either betraying her or walking out of her life without another word. ”At least there are many manifestations of happiness, so you never even know what you might find” she had found a lot of happiness in the process of being able to allow her colony to live safely in Evermore and slowly teach them all to embrace themselves.

She went quiet, clearly surprised by the way Celia was talking to her, in hindsight she probably shouldn’t have been all that shocked considering that the Valkyr had openly admitted that she was a natural flirt but still “That’s okay, I don’t think I’d be your type” she responded feeling a little flustered, truthfully she had never had a girl hit on her before and she felt completely out of her element and it was only made worse by the fact she couldn’t even be sure if this was just Ce messing with her. She lifted her gaze finally as Ce talked about helping people but implying that she went the extra mile to help Ophelia today, which made the Wayfinder thankful because she really thought she would have completely freaked out if it wasn’t for her company “There shouldn’t be a need to cover things up” she complained with a shake of her head because it saddened her that she had to face this reality yet again “What I wouldn’t give for this to be the end of it” she sighed gently, it wouldn’t be though, she knew that.

“Not a lightweight” she responded with a laugh as she took the jug and also poured herself a glass of water “But everyone has their tipping point” she laughed shaking her head slightly “Yeah he drinks a lot and often, I’d be worried if not for the fact he gets up in the morning as though nothing happened at all” she shrugged slightly, they had had a few drinks in the evenings a few times while they got to know one another, it was still new to her. She raised a brow when she said she seemed like a romantic “Well when I first fell, you know, society encouraged a young girl to dream of finding her perfect man” she responded and laughed “But then over the years life has convinced me there is no such thing and people eventually let you down so…” she shrugged gently feeling a little embarrassed to admit all that because it sounded so stereotypical “I guess maybe I don’t believe love is worth the pain it brings when the person inevitably leaves” she wondered if the Valkyr perhaps knew the feeling.

That was one way to go straight into making sure this friendship is strung on, it gave Ce something to look forward too, especially given that Phe also offered to teach her something in return. What she didn't expect was the part on archery and blacksmithing. With her lips parted slightly to show her awe, Cecilia blinked a few times and chuckled, "Archery and blacksmithing. My my my, I did not expect that from you, you continue to surprise me, Ophelia" Such an interesting gal indeed. "I'm amazed so to say, I've never met a female who dabbled in blacksmithing before… surprisingly." This was definitely something new in her discovery. "I haven't done archery in a long time, maybe you can see if my skills are as rusty as I feel it is… some other time" Which was a promise on her part that they'll meet again later. "Well, you know what they say, opposites attract" And how ironic that was.

The more she learned about the Celestial, the more the Valkyr found herself enticed. There was no doubt in her mind that Ophelia is quite the enigma. "Don't let those fairy godmothers hear you. Faeries can be real" she teased, and tried to keep her lips pursed casually when she heard how Phe said that, "Not everyone will have a happy ending. But you know what makes it so much more worth it even if it doesn't? Make your own." Whilst she knew that a happy life may not be what was stored for her, it didn't mean Celia wanted to stop fighting to get to it. Her progress decreased visibly, it was slower than usual, but it hasn't dimmed out just yet. It was still there, kindling very softly. "You're extremely poetic, do you know that?" she tried to brush the sadness off with a jest, that always works in her favor. The last thing Ce wanted to do was to lament on her unhappiness.

After her first love, the Valkyr didn't think she'd be able to recover again, she found something similar in Atticus but as expected, things weren't supposed to last forever. And her forever lasted so little. "I feel like it's around this time you should tell life to go find another victim. You should search for your own happiness…" Pursing her lips slightly, the Italian grinned bashfully, "Tell you what, if you try to search for your own, I'll do the same. Sounds fair that way, don't you think? Don't we owe it to ourselves to try?" Perhaps, there was a small flicker in her that still hasn't given up. This is not the end, right? There must be something more for her. "In whatever form we may find. It doesn't have to be love. It can be anything." Why not make someone's day better if she could? Celia felt like Phe deserved that. The Valkyr could see the misery she's felt whenever she stared in her dark hues. She was greeted by warmth but it wasn't enough to shroud what the Wayfinder has felt.

She didn't know why, but she felt the pull to make this day better for her, cheer her up, Ce, she told herself. "You don't think you'd be my type? Is that the truth you think it is or is that your way of trying to put me down slowly but saying I'm not your type?" she quirked her eyebrows in questioning, "I'm offended that you think you wouldn't be anywhere near my type, Phe. What do you think my type is, then?" She wasn't necessarily playing with her, a part of her was curious to know what the Celestial thought of her. She's right, there shouldn't be any need of covering things up, "It's hard, huh? One day, you won't need to." When Phe said she wasn't a lightweight, a smirk curved itself on her lips, "Not a lightweight she says, I feel like I'll need a proof of that one day" she winked playfully, seeing her cheering up a bit said her mission was successful.

"I've drank with him plenty of times. He's… a surprising case." Is that any way of describing your past flame? Apparently so for Cecilia. It was clear that she was still a bit bitter by the lack of communication the Guardian displayed. She was trying her best not to make it awkward but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. "Everyone leaves at some point though, don't they? Isn't it better to know that you had a wonderful time contributing to their happiness and yours?" It was a curious question, she wondered how different they were when it comes to that.

Ophelia gave a sheepish smile and shrug in response to her surprise about her skills “It was something I got into to make money back then, it was a quieter and lower profile job than working bars or restaurants” though she had done her share of waitressing too, she enjoyed just being able to sit in the back room over a forge and work at the metal, it was pretty therapeutic “After I while I started making my own headpieces with the leftover scrap metal too” it was rare to find a forge nowadays but she was confident she could still make some pretty amazing things. “Archery was my….protect myself skill” she responded and shrugged slightly “I felt like I had to do something to make myself feel stronger, you know” she nodded a few times to affirm it.

She allowed a wry smile to cross her lips when Celia spoke about fairy godmothers “Well if there are magical wish granters out there, I wouldn’t mind a stress-free vacation” she spoke it loudly as though she was hinting at someone overhearing and then laughed. She found that when you wanted something you had to earn it for yourself and there wasn’t really anything out there which resembled wishes or miracles. “I think it would help if I had any idea what my definition of a happy ending was” she admitted it and shrugged her shoulders slightly, she didn’t really think about long term goals a lot because she was usually occupied with the next person who needed her help. She chuckled softly when she said she sounded poetic “Maybe I like the world sounding poetic” she responded and smiled shyly.

She laughed and pulled a face as she crossed her arms “Do you think it would listen if I looked at it disapprovingly like this and told it that I’m very disappointed in it?” she raised her brows curiously and then grinned slightly “Or would it just sass me right back the way most people would” she shrugged and smiled, she had accepted by now that a lot of things in life just weren’t going to go her way and that she needed to push forward regardless. She took a deep breath when the other girl said they owed it to themselves to try and find happiness and she nodded slightly “It’s not as simple as it sounds though” but she was right in the sense that if you didn’t keep looking for happiness then you lost the point to it all entirely. “It does make you stop and think for a while doesn’t it?” she pursed her lips for a moment “About what’s important, about what would actually make you happy” honestly she hadn’t brought her own happiness to the forefront of her mind in a long time.

Ophelia fiddled with her sleeve a little when Celia asked if she was just saying she wouldn’t be her type just to put her down gently, honestly as someone who had always had men chase her before she eventually started a relationship this was just a very surprising and unorthodox “It’s just...very sudden and you seem to know a lot more about...what you want than I do” she responded and gave a small smile as she kept her eyes fixed to the table. Truthfully she wasn’t even sure if she was attracted to women, she had, of course, noticed people’s beauty in the past but it never even occurred to her to think about more than that. “Confident people and probably those who don’t expect much from you” she felt embarrassed to admit her own view of it but Ce was the one who started this conversation and it felt rude to play it off.

She laughed when she said she was going to need proof she wasn’t a lightweight “I mean when compared with a Valkyr I don’t even stand half a chance so” she grinned sheepishly, hearing the way Celia described Atticus definitely had her curious considering she knew the two of them had a flame before “Surprising like showing up back from the dead on your doorstep surprising” she noted because that was exactly what had happened with her and she really had no idea how she was supposed to respond to it. They had figured things out though. “You’re right, everyone leaves eventually but at least I have the memories” but god did it hurt to lose someone “Don’t you find it hard though, to find a way to get past the hurt you feel when they leave?” that was what was hard in her experience.

"It is a low-profiled occupation, you're right. I mean if you enjoyed it, it was probably a good thing." She couldn't exactly judge her on what she likes and what she doesn't, can she? But the thought of the delicate Wayfinder in such a field piqued her interest, "Do you think I can find you in such a field or place like that someday? I would love to watch." This is so new to her, she was quite literally enthusiastic about it. "I've been into archery a few times back then, mostly just to try out new things but I think I'm a lot better with… melee if anything." Her accuracy wasn't close to bad, she's an experienced Valkyr who knows how to calculate her defenses to take down her opponents but she wasn't that into weapons at all. There was a reason why Celia remained working behind the curtains most of the time. She was a lot better at that department. "I guess you can say I'm better suited for… diplomacy." That's one way to phrase it.

Hearing her wish on having a stress-free vacation made her chuckled, "So the first wish you would have them grant when you come across a fairy godmother is a stress-free vacation? Where do you wanna go? Any specific place you have in mind?" It does feel ironic because she is a fallen star and people do a lot on those 'wishing on a star' thing, especially when there's a shooting star, which she guessed it to be another fallen Celestial. "The world can be poetic, even if it's cruel" she nodded knowingly, it's beautiful, still. All cruel things seemed to be beautiful. Among all things she's learned about the Celestial today, her humor was interesting to the Italian. She likes it. "Hmm, I don't know. I mean I've tried to bribe it a few times. It doesn't seem to budge. But who knows, a pretty girl scolding it, it may give in for a brief while, no?" she teased, "If it sasses you back, just sass it back."

She didn't know why but it felt like she wanted so badly to encourage the raven-haired female into believing that there was still hope out there, even if the Valkyr herself didn't believe in it, maybe it's the innocence she radiated. She couldn't help but want Phe to achieve that. "Everything is always easier said than done. But that's never stopped anyone before." Ce pursed her lips lightly and grinned softly in return, it does make them question. "I don't know Phe" she cleared her throat before leaning in against the table with a coy smile, "I always seemed to prefer the thrill of chasing people. People I don't know yet. I know what I want because I've been over the road so many times" Those who don't expect a lot from you, that actually made her smile to herself because it reminded her of someone very significant.

"Yeah, I really have a thing for people who don't expect anything from me." In fact, among all her numerous lovers over the centuries, there's only been one who fitted the criteria perfectly. "Would you expect anything from your partner?" she asked curiously, it was plain curiosity because Phe seemed to know what she's talking about and judging from the way she talked, she had experience. "You do realize this means I am gonna hold you to it for a night of drinking together, right?" she had a mischievous grin as she took a sip of her drink, oh that was definitely going into her memos. "Yeah, I spent 900 years thinking he was dead so when he came back… let's just say things didn't go as well." Was she bitter he didn't fully explain to her why? Very. Oh, Ce can hold a grudge if she wants to. She had the right to do so.

"I'm always the one who left people. But, I had one person who left me. That's probably the only person I've ever had leaving me, it was pretty unexpected. So I do understand how it feels like especially when it hits you when you least expected it. I think the saddest thing is when you couldn't remember what those memories were because it's been so long... " She stared up from her plate and tilted her head to the side, "So you ever wish they never left? If they were back again, would you go to them?"

“There were many things I enjoyed honestly, I could never make my mind up about what I actually dreamed of doing” perhaps a career just wasn’t the top of her priority list and that was why it never seemed to be much of a second thought for her, she did what she needed to do to be able to keep herself afloat “The shop here in Evermore, that feels like the first real step I’ve made towards something I really wanted to do” and she was proud of it, even if it was small and nowhere near finished. She nodded slightly at the way Ce explained that she had dabbled in using different weapons “Honestly with the invention of guns, all other weapons feel a little outdated and underpowered now” not that they couldn’t do damage of course, but a gun could take someone’s life from a distance in seconds.

Phe looked up at her through her lashes slightly and shrugged when she said if she only had one wish from some fairy godmother she would wish for a stress-free vacation “I mean I’d definitely have to weigh my options, world peace seems like a close contender don’t you think?” she chuckled under her breath as she thought about where she would go if she had the chance to choose anywhere to explore “England” she responded and nodded “I’d want to go back to the place I fell and see the way it’s all changed since then” no doubt a lot considering how rapidly everything was moving nowadays, she wasn’t even sure she’d recognize the place anymore. “True, that’s what makes it real I suppose” seeing the way beauty always seemed to be balanced with something else, it was bittersweet. “I guess it really is as stubborn as everyone makes it out to be” she chuckled softly “Sometimes it bends just a little though, those are the best moments” there were a few important moments she could recall in her mind at least.

“Well actually it stops a lot of people every day” she laughed slightly, she knew so many people who had regrets because they didn’t try something or they didn’t say something when they could, the world was filled with regrets but that didn’t mean she had to be the same, she still had time to change her ways and truly enjoy the world. Well if things remained peaceful and safe for the Celestials at least. “I think the one thing which would make me the happiest is to have one day where I feel 100% sure that things are going to be okay” she always had this fear that things were going to fall apart and the feeling never left her, it always plagued her mind so to have even one day off from it, that would be a feeling of utter bliss for her.

It seemed like she was right when she said that Celia’s type seemed to be who didn’t expect anything from her, the kinds who only needed one night to feel like they had gotten everything they wanted, it felt like somewhat of an empty proposition to her, perhaps that was her traditional mindset which was used to courting and traditional romance. “I used to” she responded with a shrug of her shoulders “But then look how things turned out for me” she chuckled under her breath “Right now I’m just...going where the world seems to lead me I guess” she wasn’t looking for a relationship, but she also wasn’t completely averse to the idea of one either. You could say she was keeping an open but cautious mind. Ophelia gave a look of protest when she said she was going to insist on a night of drinking “That sounds like quite possibly the worst idea I could agree to” who knows what someone as wild and confident as Ce could convince her to do while drunk.

“Life is complicated huh?” It was messy and people were most of the reasons for being so, they were disappointing, they told lies, they felt things really deeply, they could lose interest, they could pay way too much attention, it was so unpredictable. The dark-haired Wayfinder watched Celia as she talked about leaving people and the one time she had been left “There are...many different ways a person can leave and some hurt more than others” she bit her lip softly “So, of course, there’s some people I wish more than anything they never left” as the leader of the Celestials she had seen so much death in her life and yet it still crushed her every time she experienced the loss of someone “But if someone chose to leave” she shrugged “Then I feel like they never would have left if they cared enough” and for that reason, no, she wouldn’t go to them “What about you? Could you ever forgive the person who left you?” she pursed her lips slightly.

"I hope that you would find it a lot easier to do what you want now. We're in the age where it's possible to do whatever you wish if you are determined enough. Put your heart to it and it should go fine. Most of the time, at least" she reassured, Celia's never done this in a good manner and she wasn't saying she's never done this in a good light, it's just the targeted people were rarely… good. Most of them were scum of the earth but Ophelia was far from that. A first time for her to reassure someone who was probably a lot more innocent than anyone she's ever encountered before. She was glad to hear that the Wayfinder knew what she wanted to do and was going for it, there was nothing more that she liked than seeing someone who knows what they want.

"I would say guns are overrated but I do agree they make a quick work of things" It was then when she realized she had let it slipped, "I mean… not that I would know anything about it. I heard about it…" Suddenly Celia feels like she didn't want Phe to look at her in a light knowing she's facing a woman who wasn't afraid of taking out her opponents, much less held a gun. "Come on, world peace? That does sound like a pretty dream... But I doubt even the fairy godmother could make that happen. It didn't exist, we created it." For it to stay peaceful forever would mean to eradicate every single one of them. "Mankind will screw up one way or another."

She guessed it as much from her accent, that she was from England, "No wonder you have a pretty accent." Cecilia's Italian accent was pretty much gone after a while. What's left is the American one. "We'll have to be grateful to see the times it bends." When Ophelia told her what would make her happy, the Italian found herself smiling, that's pure. It's also sad, the life the Celestials had to carry on. Ce knows how hard it would be to be a Celestial, whether it was a thousand years ago or now; it's the same. There will always be constant threat looming over them. It sounded like Phe didn't have luck in that department either. "Well, soulmates… were said to exist, right? So there's really no need to worry, right?"

The turning point was that Ce sounded unsure, which was completely warranted. Her life has never shown much about soulmates. The one time she thought it was there right in front of her, it ended up proving her wrong because here she was, a millennium after, still wondering what would be of her if she was alive. "I hope you find what you're looking for, though, you deserve it." The Wayfinder has, no doubt, been through quite the tragic life so far. It only fits right if she was to be compensated. "It's because it sounds like the worst idea is why I'm exactly demanding. Come on, one night of letting loose won't hurt nobody, right? You know you secretly want to give it a try, Phe" she cooed teasingly, biting her bottom lip as she leaned forward with a couple smirk, "I won't bite. I promise." Celia hummed in affirmation upon hearing Phe's response, "Indeed. It's never been an easy road, even now."

Life can really screw you over sometimes. Could she forgive the person who left her? "I didn't want to… but how could I not when I know it wasn't her intention to do so?" She didn't leave voluntarily, she didn't. "Saying it is definitely a lot easier than meaning it. I don't think I can ever hate that person. But it certainly taught me something; nothing lasts forever. Not even love." Maybe she had more reasons to drink tonight, her wine glass was always empty she actually requested for the waitress to leave the bottle there and now it's halfway done. "Sometimes I do wish I could just run away from things though. It's hard when you have responsibilities huh."

“Well I think there is a little luck involved in the game but this is the first time I’ve tried to make something of my own, I intend to see it through” it would either be a success or she would end up needing to pack up shop because there wasn’t enough demand for what she was making but she hoped she would be able to share something beautiful with the world. Ophelia had to shake her head at the way Celia was so quick to respond to her statement on guns only to backtrack it afterward which made the Wayfinder raise her brows in curiosity “Can’t say I’ve ever been near one myself, as stupid as it sounds I’m not sure I’d trust myself with one” the danger of letting your temper get the better of you was so much higher when you had a weapon which could end a life so quickly, the very thought of it scared her.

“I mean when you’ve lived a life like I have, world peace is the only thing you ever truly hope for” she admitted with a soft shrug, Celia was right, it was never going to happen because there would always be someone out there who didn’t care for others and just wanted to see the world burn so to speak “What hope do my people have in the world if peace is ruled impossible” she had to keep hoping for something that would never likely happen because it seemed like the only way to stay sane. Ophelia scrunched her nose up when Ce called her accent cute “One of the benefits of never staying in the same place long is you don’t have long enough to pick up another accent” so her English one had stayed with her for most of her life.

“Supposedly” she responded with Ce mentioned the idea of soulmates, some people swore by them while others said they were a myth and that you decided your own life partner and fate, Phe liked to think there was some sort of fated person out there who was supposed to be the right one for her but she also didn’t think that sounded within the realm of realistic “And yet I still worry” she commented and chuckled under her breath, she was sure Celia could understand how she felt. She nodded her head slowly when Ce expressed her want for Phe to find happiness “Right now my happiness lies in seeing my people safe and well, I’ll worry about myself when there is time to breathe” it seemed like her life was a constant case of moving from one worry to the next.

The Wayfinder shot Ce a stern glance as she attempted to try and tempt her into going for one-night drinking with her, it still seemed like the worst thing she could probably decide to do, she hadn’t known the Italian all that long but she definitely got the sense from her that she was wild and bold, if you multiplied that by alcohol then it sounded outright dangerous “Why does that sound like a literal promise” she commented and then chuckled under her breath “Fine, but we go to a bar that I choose” she protested back, at least then she could make sure it was a place she liked and was familiar with and not some crazy club the Valkyr knew of.

Ophelia’s gaze turned empathetic when she heard the way that Ce phrased her forgiveness for someone who left her, she knew that tone and look too well, when someone left without intention, that was an offhand way of saying she had lost that person to death “I know how you feel, every time it hurts” she lost so many people she cared about like that and it never hurt any less, it was why she was working so hard now to prevent losing anyone else. “Yeah, but then you can either choose to hold onto it when you have it knowing it might be for a short time or you avoid ever having it so it can’t ever hurt you” in practice the first one was what a person should do but in reality, the fear of losing someone often won out in her experience “It is” she agreed as she finished up her food and set it aside with a sad smile “But running away is only ever temporary anyway, the painful way is typically the only way to actually get through it” in her experience anyway “What was her name?” Celia had very specifically said she earlier so Ophelia was curious.

"You can never really depend on luck, can you? It's so easy to screw you up… when you give it the chance." Cecilia tried not to depend on things like that, if you wanted to get something, you go ahead and get it, by any means necessary, in her dictionary. There was no point on waiting for something that could be miles away occupying someone else's life instead of your own. "I'm a cardiothoracic surgeon, if I depend on luck in my line of job, then my patients will rise from the dead and kill me themselves" she chuckled dryly, the talk about guns made her throat dry momentarily, mostly because it was clear the Italian has held one and used them, occasionally. But perhaps, she's a bit embarrassed to show it to Ophelia. The image she wanted to portray for her sake was quite different from the one she's used to. Ce assured herself that she only did this because she wanted to make sure the Wayfinder feels comfortable and safe within her vicinity, that's all.

"Got it. Get guns far from you" she teased. She had an abysmal smile, mostly because she's sorry for the life Phe had to lead, it was inevitable for Celestials but still, it is pitiful. "It's not impossible, let's put it as… difficult. Yeah, I'll go with that. Who knows, one day you may actually achieve it in the form you never expected to. Life is full of mysteries, you can't tell what's going on." Her English accent reminds her of the breezy England she remembered, there was something about her that just lights up despite being in a cold damp setting; probably much like London as a whole. "If you believe they exist, then maybe that's the only thing that you really need to make it work. You don't necessarily have to wait forever for it nor do you have to go out there and seek it desperately, us ladies don't need a man to handle everything, right?" she gave her a playful nudge, marking the return of the Valkyr's signature pearly grin.

"Good things happen when you least expect it, too. One day, you'll see that happen, and you'll smile to yourself because you knew it wasn't impossible." Sure, Celia's done a few reassuring jobs, to Gideon, Yeon, and now Ophelia? But it does make her wonder, the two people she usually talks to and gives advice to, they were very close to her. The Italian female would literally go to war for them. So how was it that the Celestial Wayfinder suddenly made her way up to those ranks on their first meeting? She made no further effort to say anything about happiness when she noticed the undertone in Phe's voice, she sounded so sad Ce was tempted to wash it away. She wanted to.

The stern glance she got from Phe had her chuckling softly, it made her look intimidating, so much Celia was amused by it, "Careful, Phe, you giving me anymore of those stares and I may think you have something to propose to me" she sent her a playful wink and shrugged, "I am a woman of my word. So yes it's probably a promise." Had it been up to her, she was probably going to cheer when Phe relented, but decided to go with a tiny cheer inside. "So you do go to bars to drink, I never would've expected that. Now I'm curious, which side of the city did you pick?" There was that familiar mischievous glint in her hazel hues as her gaze was fixated on the Celestial. Cassie wasn't someone she could just easily forget, there was nothing about the blonde that makes it easy for her. All the memories they shared, all the laughter, just remembering it doesn't bring an end to her heartache.

But it's been more than a millennium already, if she couldn't move on, the least she could do is make her proud. Right? "I thought I'd make her proud since she's… Gone. But when I remember what I've done all these centuries, I feel ashamed. My hands weren't clean, and I'm not sure if my heart is, too." She feels so conflicted, a part of her wants to uphold this dignity and promise but the other part just wants to shed it away because that's not who she is anymore. "I used to be a very different person, could you have guessed?" she played it off with a wry laugh but the smile didn't quite reach her eyes. "Cassie. Cassidy Violet."

“I definitely wouldn’t recommend it” she responded honestly, shrugging her shoulders slightly, if she had relied on luck entirely then her people would probably still be locked away on the Isle of Skye and she would still have no idea how to save them, her determination had always been unwavering and she had never given up on finding them. “I definitely wouldn’t want my doctor relying on luck to treat me, people have confidence in experience and practice, not in someone trying and seeing how things go” she shook her head because the very idea of that practice scared her.

“I mean I don’t see why a gun would be near me in the first place anyway” she laughed shaking her head slightly, the way Ce smiled when she spoke about her hopes that maybe one-day things would be peaceful made her press her lips together because it pretty much said it all when it came to her thoughts about whether it would actually ever come true “You definitely don’t sound like you believe that at all but” she nodded her head slightly “You don’t need to grimace like that, I’ve...accepted the life I have to lead now” though Ce had seen that acceptance waver earlier that was more the panic speaking than anything. She hadn’t been attacked in a while and it was a reminder that something would always remind her what she was and the place she had to fill. “Well, I never said a soulmate had to be a man” she responded with a shrug “Someone might find their soulmate in a friend who they can’t live without or a pet who comforts them every day, I believe it’s…” she thought about how to explain it “Someone who understands you better than anyone else, your person” she wondered if that made sense.

“I’d love for you to be right about that” she responded honestly, nodding her head thoughtfully “Because I’d really like to be able to stay in this city and really figure things out” which wasn’t something she often felt, when she went to a place it was for necessity, she would find a place to stay, find a job, keep her head down low and then wait for the next eventual moment where she had to give it all up and leave again, Ophelia hadn’t spent so much time in one place for over a century. “You must have seen your fair share of traveling too though” she commented thoughtfully, noting that she had mentioned several places already “Why Evermore?” of course Gideon was here, she knew that much surely she must have more reasons than that too.

Ophelia arched a brow at Celia’s warning about her not giving her space for her mind to wander “I didn’t say anything” she responded with a wry smile on her lips, shaking her head at the playful way Ce was jesting her, they had only met today and yet she felt like they were on the same wavelength somehow, like she could laugh around her and just feel like herself. Ophelia didn’t have many friends like that, mostly because they tended to be Celestials and there were certain things she held back when it came to them because they needed to see her as their strong leader. She laughed “Of course I go to bars, I’m not some crazy homebody you know” she shook her head playfully “I like the little place near the river banks” she responded with a nod “Perfect view out over the city” she didn’t expect to be explaining her tastes in bars tonight though.

“Well it’s not too late to make her proud, there’s not an expiration date on being able to do good things” Ophelia liked to think people were defined by the way they learned from their mistakes and moved forward rather than the mistakes themselves, if she was judged on her mistakes then it was too late for her too, no matter her intentions she had been the cause of people getting killed in the past too. “It’s not so hard to guess that time would change you, a younger me was much easier to kill” she gave a somewhat why smile because she had definitely gotten tougher over the years. She could tell how much this person meant to her because of the way Ce smiled, she knew that smile, the hiding all the pain behind a smile “Such a beautiful name” she noted with a kind smile.
