Dating is not his strong suit. It has never been and it never will be. That's what Henri decided after the nth time of getting himself in trouble because he managed to get the people he probably shouldn't want trailing after him. And by that, he meant stalkers. Hot but crazy stalkers. Life as an Ailward guard is never going to be easy, it's hectic and you have a packed schedule every single day, even when you're resting. Which is also not something he understood much about, not when he keeps running errands for his Aspect, who finally kept a distance away from the bottle thankfully. If the therian wasn't in the lab working on something, then he was at the library, all cooped up alone at the furthest corner of the biology and criminology aisle with a few books stacked up to his left. It's the section where not a lot of people ventured to and gave him exactly what he needed; some peace and quiet.

Not today though. Oddly enough, he wasn't sure how drunk he had been to have installed Tinder on his phone two days ago but he did, and apparently he filled out plenty of things that are strangely accurate. He was half impressed and half awed at the thought of being able to function semi properly while he was on the verge of having a bad hangover the next morning. When he scrolled to read the details he wrote down, he had closed his phone almost instantly. It wasn't until Tavia saw the profile when he gave her his phone to look at the pictures he captured from the debris they found last time. That's where the journey actually started, a little teasing a push from the Nephilim herself. He realized that he wanted to have more than just flings and one night stands when he felt like it. He's an immortal who has lived for over half a millennium, he knew he was bound to get bored sooner rather than later.

Keeping himself busy with all the missions and studies wouldn't work this time. He was all too used to it so the thrill wasn't really there fully. Henri wanted to talk to someone, to have a casual relationship without having a full on commitment because he knew he simply couldn't do that in a long term plan. That day he swiped right on this girl who by the way is a beauty and realized some of their interests matched. He likes swimming and games. The girl wasn't that far off, she also seemed to like skiing and had a natural relationship with snow and water. Of course, Henri didn't think about the specifics on what she might be, because a) he doesn't need to worry since it would hardly be the first time he has met or dated or even slept with a supernatural. B) She is a beauty, it felt like a waste not to give it a try.

They agreed to meet today at the arcade center. He knew his way around that part of the city because he actually ventured there a few times over the weekend, attempting to beat the high score if someone had beaten him. That's where he is today, currently leaning against the basketball machine, tossing a few balls in effortlessly while scrolling his phone, waiting for his date. It was a casual one and he was glad the first date wasn't going to be at a restaurant or something. He's picky about his meat.

She wasn’t exactly sporty per se but she did enjoy activities that involved the cold and the ice, part of her nature she supposed, she felt at home most when she was up in the mountains skiing or making her way through a deep lake, manipulating the currents around her “I’m more of a long distance swimmer, morning swims in the lake and all” she nodded and smiled slightly, there was nothing more refreshing than that. She laughed and wrinkled her nose a little when he said clinginess was a turn off “Life is too busy to constantly be bending to the will of someone who has this picture of a relationship in their head” she was glad she didn’t have anyone in her life putting pressure on her to settle down because honestly, Freyja felt like she’d barely gotten to live.

She furrowed her brow a little when he said he saw it as a challenge to try and impress her, she tilted her head and smile “Well just because you’re handsome doesn’t mean I’m going to go easy on you” she grinned slightly, she liked it when someone was determined and she could respect the fire in Henri’s voice when he spoke like that. She licked her lips and arched a brow when Henri said he planned to manage to keep no off of her lips “You’d be the first” she teased as she watched him. He was very confident in himself which she definitely found attractive though she wondered if he could live up to the words he was saying “You’d be surprised how incompatible those two traits can be...guys can be handsome but completely bland when it comes to personality” she playfully rolled her eyes and grinned.

She looked back at him with a soft gaze and nodded her head slightly when he said he wanted to find somewhere he felt like he belonged “I can relate to that...I spent so much time trying to figure out where my place was...I’m still not sure I found it” but she liked it here in Evermore and she got the feeling she was drawn here for a reason. All she knew was that she wanted to reconnect with her people if they were out there. Initially Freyja was dubious about what he was looking for considering the perfect balance he named but when he lifted her hand to whisper she couldn’t help but smile “Damn that’s quite the hit ratio, though I’m very curious what happens with the other 4%” she raised her brows playfully.

She laughed it off when he apologized for the flying puck “I can respect a competitive man...he knows what he wants and he takes it” she grinned softly before getting back to the game, as she hoped, his attention seemed to dwindle when he noticed the position she had placed herself in but she kept her focus until she was able to score a goal. She grinned, bouncing a little to celebrate her success before tilting her head “Seems like someone likes what he sees” she teased playfully as she placed it back on the table. A bit more back and forth and she was trying to guard but the puck managed to slip past her and went straight into the goal. “So what’s your favorite video game?” she questioned with an arch of her brow between back and forth.

Swimming does give him some sort of comfort that he couldn't find elsewhere. Because of that, the therian often finds himself lurking around the best beaches just so he could swim at the sea for a while. "You're not worried some water monster is going to tighten its grip on you?" he teased, there were a few times when he wondered what was under the deep blue sea but never bothered to check it out because the depth was too much, even for him. But sharks, he would willingly admit he was spooked by them. "Have you ever swimmed that long in the sea?" He couldn't find the kind of rope to tie him down to this singular concept of relationship most people have which was why it makes it hard for him to find anyone who was on the same wavelength as he is.

"That's refreshing to know, you have no idea how many had the same picture and expectations in their mind before they even moved to the next stage." Clearly, he wasn't impressed when they did that. "Oh so you do admit I'm handsome? That's a compliment right there, Freyja. Careful, who knows? By the end of the day, maybe you'll find that I'm more likable than I look" he winked playfully and chuckled, she is outgoing and that makes it easy for them to have a conversation about most things. "And maybe the last" he quipped wryly, there was no reason he couldn't be  the first and the last. "Thankfully I'm not them, am I? You just admitted I'm handsome and I will not tolerate if one would ever classify my personality as bland, that's an insult to my pride." And he has quite the pride. "Admit it, my personality is already more different than the others you've met."

Another one who didn't feel like she belonged and was still searching, what a curious case. One would've looked at her and thought she had everything touched down. "Well you still have time to figure out your wants. If this place isn't for you then there's always others. Though I'll be truthfully honest, I'll be sad and disappointed if you leave because I'm still here, maybe that's one thing good no?" Delving into a serious topic was never his intention so Henri tried to make sure he ended the note with a more humorous tone. The therian cleared his throat awkwardly and shrugged upon hearing her enquiring about the 4%, "I guess they thought themselves immune and as much as I like chasing challenges, sometimes they're not worth it. But I intend to make sure you fall under the 96% if you know what I mean." It is still early to base assumptions on whether he would be able to score her attention or not but a little dose of motivation always makes it.

"You respect them but do you like them?" That's the real question he's been meaning to ask. It was hard to focus when she was leaning down like that and while he was distracted, he realized he allowed her to get a score because of the opening he left, that wasn't going to happen again. "Well I did have a pretty sight so what's not to like" he had a wolfish grin and had already positioned himself to get an even better shot and successfully scored himself in. "Call of Duty… and Final Fantasy. You?"

She laughed under her breath when he pointed out some monster in the water could come to get her “What if I was the water monster?” she responded and shrugged slightly, she had avoided large bodies of water when she was a phoenix but now that she was a niveis it made sense for her to enjoy being surrounded by the element she was closest to. “Several hours I’d say...honestly people have to drag me out and even then I might not be all that willing” she allowed a wry smile to cross her lips, when she decided to go out swimming there was no point waiting for her. She chuckled when he pointed out how other people always seemed to have a picture and expectations in their mind “I’m a busy girl, getting time for one date is hard enough” she teased with a laugh.

“You know another thing that’s really attractive though?” she questioned and when his attention came to her she chuckled “Humility” she teased and raised her brows, he definitely had a nice face but she wasn’t sure she knew him well enough to know if he was likable yet “That’s assuming you make it to the end of the day” she teased slightly. There was a certain attractiveness behind his confidence though and it made her titled her head and laugh softly “You definitely have a memorable personality” she agreed with a wry smile, she was curious about him because he was playful and fun, yet a little obnoxious in a way that told her there was definitely more to him “I’m getting bad-boy vibes though…the ones that tell you to run and hide” she teased slightly.

She chewed on her bottom lip as she thought about the feeling she had about Evermore, it was like a sense of purpose that she couldn’t explain, she didn’t know why but she knew it was here she was supposed to be “Well lucky for you I don’t intend on going anywhere just yet, I feel like me and Evermore aren’t anywhere near through yet” she grinned slightly, so he did want her to stay, that was a nice thing to hear she would admit “It almost sounds like you’re already lining up another date” she teased playfully. She gave him a look when he pointed out that he wanted her to fall into the 96% bracket and rolled her eyes slightly “Subtle” she scoffed but there was a devilish smile on her lips that said she was curious.

“Depends if he knows when to quit” she retorted as she stared back at him, she liked how he could keep up with her pretty well and definitely wasn’t going easy on her with the game they were playing, there was nothing more frustrating than being around someone who treated you like you were any less. She would sooner prove those people wrong than respect them. When he scored she pressed her lips together into a pout but quickly grabbed the puck and placed it back on the table before sending it back his way “Those two games are nothing like each other” she teased with a laugh “I’m game with a little dark souls or the last of us but then you can also find me playing animal crossing” she grinned “Versatile” she commented before stumbling over the puck and letting him score a second goal “You’re pretty good at this” she teased slightly.

When she said she was the water monster, Henri looked at her as if she just grew another head in front of him before chuckling, "Then wow that's one sexy water monster" he said it and he meant every word of it. It didn't take a genius to know how attractive Freyja is, and even though they've only talked for a while, she was so much better compared to the others he had the pleasure to meet. Besides, a little flattery here and there wouldn't do any harm, not if he means it. "Several hours soaked in water? Now I'm starting to think you might be a water monster after all" he wondered what she was, as he tried to take his head on a species well-versed with water, niveis or initia? Those were the closest. She could be a human who just likes to soak in the water but something tells him there was more than that. "Then I must be honored that you took the time of your day to have a date with me, no?"

When she teased him and said humility makes a person more attractive, the therian scoffed playfully, "Oh I have humility. Somewhere… I just don't use it as much. Honesty is more apparent than my humility if anything." It was as if another challenge just quite literally popped up in front of him. He knew he couldn't resist taking on it. "Are you willing to hedge a bet whether I'll be able to make it through the day? Because I am." He had his green hues fixated on the female before him, accompanied by a playful smirk across his lips. "Memorable… I'll take that as a compliment." She wouldn't exactly be wrong when she said she sensed certain bad boy vibes from him, Henri tends to forget about everything else and make his own rules while making sure it doesn't really go against it. If you're going to do something, you should at least be smart about it, he would say. "Don't girls like themselves a bit of a bad boy though?" He teased coyly, he wasn't going to pretend that he's someone he's not. That never ends well.

Upon hearing that she wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon, Henri grinned wryly and bit his lip, "Good… Because I think you and I are far from being through too." He was going to see the end of this, he's sure of it. Henri decided that he liked the spunk she had. "Would I be too smug if I said I am?" Another date didn't seem too far, unless she ends up not finding him all that. "I haven't annoyed you yet, have I? Because if so, that's an achievement." Clearly, Freyja was so much different than others. But rather than focusing on scoring himself someone, he was actually enjoying the day. "I don't know how to quit, sorry to disappoint, liebling (darling)" he quipped humorously, he was quite persistent when he wanted to be and he had to admit, he wanted to impress her today.

The puck was going back and forth as the both of them kicked the competition notch up as the time passed by, while still being able to keep a decent conversation. He had scored another goal by then, "What can I say, I play a lot of games. But Animal Crossing? I've heard of that but guiltily enough, I still have yet to try it." He could barely get his Switch in his grasp before he was called for another duty. "Of course, I told you I am good at it. Do you have any other arcade games you're actually confident in? Maybe one I won't be able to beat you at?" he teased.

She laughed softly when he called her a sexy water monster “Thanks...I think” she responded to his offhanded compliment but smiled softly, she liked someone who could make light of things and not get all serious about everything. She didn’t need more serious in her life, there was plenty of that when it came to her faction and finding her place in the city. “I swear there are few other places I feel more at home” she commented and smiled gently, she had taken to the water with open arms instead of trying to fight against it. She lost her fiery nature a long time ago after all. “Exactly, gotta make the most of it” she commented and pretended to tap her non existent watch to remind him the clock was ticking.

“I’m pretty sure yours ran off to join the circus, you should really go look for it when you have a spare moment” she teased slightly in reference to his humility “Though I can respect the honesty, god knows we all need more of it” being upfront was important because nothing good ever really came from skirting around the edges and never saying what you really meant. She raised her brows in response to his confidence about making it to the end of the day and she narrowed her eyes slightly “Well that entirely depends on what you’re offering as a wager” she grinned slightly, wondering what he might want from her. “A smart girl would never admit she’s looking for a bad boy” she responded with a coy raise of her brow, but that didn’t make them any less attractive “Who knows what...bad things he might want to do with her” she teased slightly.

“Well you’ve managed to keep me occupied for this long which means you’re made a good first step” she teased, biting her lip because there was definitely some suggestiveness to his tone which had her wondering how tonight might pan out. She wasn’t usually that girl who threw herself at a guy she just met but she was definitely curious about him. She chuckled slightly “It’s certainly one of the bolder moves I’ve seen, though I’m not sure you’ve seen enough to know for sure you want more yet” she grinned slightly, it might turn out horribly after they got to know one another a little, you never knew.

She grinned to herself when he said he didn’t know how to quit but her focus remained on the game of air hockey they were playing “It’s more fun than the description makes it out to be” she commented and laughed softly, it was one of those concepts that seemed bizarre until you tried it and then suddenly you were hooked and coming back for more. When he called her out for not being good at the current game they were playing she took the opportunity to find a gap in his guard and shoot for his goal before giving him a stern look “You should know better than to count me out so suddenly” she jested with a wry smile on her lips “But I do have a rather amazing score in Pacman” she teased slightly.

Surprisingly, his persona wasn't that different to his working one. Though he didn't look the part, Henri is actually pretty friendly with people and only preferred to keep to himself because he was in the forensics team and that meant he had to have his own space to think about this and that. Because of that, people thought he was a hard person to approach. Today, he had the opportunity to show Freyja the side of him that not many got to see and it was nice being able to just forget about things and laugh. "I'll make sure the time you took today is well spent, don't worry" he reassured, they could be spending the entire day at the arcade and he would still try to find ways to make her enjoy it. It's a win-win situation because he too, was looking to have a good day. "I mean, you gotta be generous sometimes, you know? Maybe someone else was in need of my humility? Who knows? Sharing is caring, after all and with or without my humility, I'm still a likable person."

The thing about her that piqued his interest was the fact that she didn't even try to filter her thoughts and words, he could respect a woman who didn't need to act in front of him. Like she said, they needed more honesty in this world. "Nothing much… I mean nothing that would admittedly burden you anyway, a second date" he shrugged, there was no harm in trying, right? He had to risk it every once in a while and he's doing exactly that. Who knows when he'll get the chance like this again? "A smart girl would know when a bad boy is attracted or interested in her so she plays hard to get" he quipped wryly, "and she knows exactly what said person would want to do with her." The fact that their gaze didn't waver the entire time they said that says a lot. And Henri wasn't about to cower there either. He was enjoying this way too much to just give up on the spot. Besides, Freyja had successfully fueled his motivation drive. "And you're right because this really is just the first step. I know how I want the night to end" Two could play at the game.

"I just need to convince the lady to favor that outcome too. Consent is sexy, after all." If that wasn't already suggestive, then he has no idea what else would beat it. "I guess we'll see if it will remain the same or change before the day ends." He's willing to bet on it that it won't and when Henri has his attention fixated on someone, he never stops pursuing them. They may as well give him something to keep scenting. When she suddenly scored a goal shortly after he jabbed at her on her skills, the therian laughed and held both his hands up in defense, "My bad." He gave another round and chuckled when she said Pacman, "One more round of this and we'll go to Pacman. I have a proposition to make, how about we count the scores as in how many games we won and by the end of the day, the winner gets to grant a wish. As much as I would love to keep playing, having a goal would be so much better. It's not as if you have anything to lose, no?" But his gaze sure was challenging her to say no.

She arched her brow and tilted her head when he said he would make sure the time she spent was worth it “Define well spent” she commented wondering what exactly he was hoping to get out of this. She agreed to come today because she wanted to have a good night where she could just have fun and relax and so far it was meeting her needs “Sounds like you sold it on the black market” she teased playfully when he spoke about giving away his humility to someone who needed it “I hope you at least got a good price for it” she teased as she smirked back at him.

She was pretty direct with her words and always spoke what was on her mind, she was sure that would bother some people but he seemed to respect it. She pressed her lips together when he said he wanted to wager a second date over their game “But that begs the question of who has to win to get the second date and who has to lose” she chuckled slightly “What if we both want it...does one of us need to throw the match” she grinned “How about a counter-proposal, the loser has to buy dessert if we decide to go on a second date” she raised her brows as though to challenge him to agree. She licked her lips when he basically suggested she was playing hard to get and then added that she knew exactly what his intentions were “Classy” she teased sarcastically.

She bit her lip when he said that consent was sexy “That it is” she agreed with a wry smile, she wasn’t going to commit to a yes or no on that until she’d gotten the chance to get a full idea of the person he was. He seemed determined though she was yet to figure out if this was some game he wanted to play with every girl he met or if she was actually different. She didn’t particularly mind either way she supposed but perhaps a small part of her was hoping tonight wouldn’t just be another one night. They had their place but she was beginning to get tired of them. She shot him a mock glare when he teased her “It all comes down to this next goal huh?” she grinned slightly and waited for him to serve “Surely the loser should grant the winner’s wish?” she questioned with a raised brow. “I’m game, tinkerbell” she teased with a grin.
