*THUMP*, Clara woke up, she must have fallen asleep while she was reading, she started sitting up and picked up the book on the floor, glancing over at the clock it read that it was 8:27 pm, she got up out of her bed and put the book on the dresser, walking over to her closet to grab a different outfit, she made up her mind this morning she would go to the city this evening for an evening out and she was determined to stick to her plans.

Once she had changed she looked into her standing mirror "maybe I should wear some makeup" she thought to herself Clara almost never wore makeup her mother once told her it made her look older. Looking up and down at the dress she had chosen she decided to keep any makeup off her face and leave her hair down "that's enough, stop looking at yourself." she thought as she walked away from the mirror.

Walking down the stairs barefoot with her shoes in her hand and her purse in the other. Getting to the door and locking it once she was outside, she sat down briefly on her steps to slip on her shoes, while she was putting on her shoes she could hear the crickets in the forest it was like a band, each cricket knew when to sing and it sounded beautiful just like magic.

Clara was on her way into town now driving down the road listening to the music on the radio, she never really went out at night but something her friend had said a couple days ago about her playing it too safe, and realizing in that moment she really did play everything to safe, she had made these plans to prove her friend wrong, and to prove to herself she could do this but mainly the first one.

Walking up and down the streets for a half an hour now she was thinking of going home, she hadn't really done anything this evening except walk and her feet were beginning to hurt, but Clara stopped where she stood and started listening,  across the street she heard music, it sounded like a live band and it was coming from an Irish Pub, she had never been in a pub before and thought it might be a good idea.

She walked across the street and walked into the pub looking around the place she could tell it was pretty packed in here but it wasn't overcrowded, Clara stood in the background for a bit just listening to the music but thought maybe she should get a drink, she walked over to the bar, and sat down in the only free seat in the corner, the bartender came over he was older, red hair with white streaks in his beard and from when he spoke he was Irish "What would you like Missy?" he asked her " A Bellini, Thank you." he looked at her with a strange face like my drink was way too fancy for a place like this but he walked over to his counter and started making it. A few minutes later he had her drink in hand and passed it on over to her, "Thank you." she said.

After downing the second shot, he put a hand through his hair and tied it back with the thin headband he'd been using to keep it out of his face. With a grin, he answered her simply. "It's Dominic. Though I find it weird when anyone outside of the family calls me that." He could clearly hear his mother's voice calling for him to come inside of the house when dinner was ready so many years ago. All of those memories felt like he was watching someone else's life in his own head.

He took a sip of his beer and leaned forward on his legs to keep close to her. "Back to this wanting to learn guitar," Dominic began as Hugh filled the shot glass again. It was a definite perk to be friends with the staff in a busy bar. One never had to wait long for another drink. "Why haven't you learned to play yet? I think you're old enough to make decisions on what instruments you choose to learn," he teased as he grabbed the next shot. "It might help dismantle that whole little old lady image."

As the band started playing another song, she listened to what Dom said about playing the guitar. Clara picked up her water and took another big sip, it felt good to drink she hadn't realized she was thirsty so she took another sip and placed the glass back down to answer his question. "I know I'm old enough, it's just I never found the time, to come to think about it, I haven't thought of playing the guitar since long ago, I would say It's almost a forgotten dream," she said looking at him.

Clara looked up at the clock in the bar to see what time it was, she had already been talking to Dom for a half-hour. Looking across the room she saw the band was now playing a sort of rock music with a bit of folk, she thought it was quite lovely but it was getting loud in the bar again so she went in closer, "Maybe I don't want to dismantle my little old lady image too much," she said with a grin. "Do you have any siblings?" Clara asked hoping to get to know Dom a little better.

Siblings. Even though the conversation was bound to surface any time he met someone new, talking about family always made him uneasy. He instinctively grabbed his beer in the other hand as he took the shot and immediately drank from the bottle, sighing with a smile before speaking. "Yep. I do have siblings. Older brother and a younger sister."

He absentmindedly began twirling the shot glass around in his hands, staring down as he continued. "I haven't spoken to them in a while, though. We haven't exactly seen eye to eye on things after my parents died." Dominic set the shot glass down on the bar before giving himself the chance to crush it for a burst of relief from his feelings. He nodded up at Hugh who guessed exactly what he needed. A double shot.

Turning back to her, he kept his tone light, so she wouldn't feel badly about asking. "And how bout you, Miss? Any chance you have a crazy family like me?"

"I apologize, for bringing it up." She said as she placed her hand on his to show comfort and understanding.

"And to answer your question, I was an only child and my father died when I was 12..." she said with a sympathetic smile "My mother then remarried when I was 16, he was absolutely awful my mother was blinded, I guessed she missed being adored because he was very rude, anyway I was either 18 or 19 when my mother and stepfather were murdered," she said picking up the shot and swinging it back.

It still burned going down but it wasn't as bad as the first time, for a second it felt quiet, too quiet. so she gave an almost fake smile and looked at him"So besides playing guitar and drinking in bars what other things are you interested in?" she said trying to change the subject.

Dominic listened to her story and realized she had had it rough just as he did so many years ago. Tragedy seemed to follow a lot of supernaturals, so it almost wasn't surprising to hear. It just seemed like it came with the territory of the life. By her scent, he couldn't tell exactly what she was, but there was an air of magic around her.

"Hey, no apology needed," he said, placing his large hand on the back of her head, playfully. "Life is a bitch, that's for sure. Just gotta find the things that makes you happy to balance it all out." Dominic picked up the bottle of whiskey himself and poured a new shot for her. She certainly deserved it after hearing that bit of her history.

He toasted her and downed the double shot as she inquired about his other interests. "Well, I also drink at home," Dominic joked. "I actually don't really do much. I'm that keeps-to-himself mountain man that many people try to avoid. If I don't have a beer or guitar in my hands, I'm most likely working on cars or bikes." He looked down at his still dirty jeans to show her what he meant. "I work at a garage near the Therian Woods off the main highway. Even when I'm not doing it there, I work on the machines at home. Keeps my mind from overthinking which is a pastime I'd like to end." It was true he had a lot of demons and the more distractions he had the better. Any time a pretty woman got caught up in the mix was an added bonus. Beer, guitars, machines, and women were all he really needed in life. If the Ailwards gave him a mission, he welcomed the direction to keep him focused on something else.

"And what about you?" he asked, as his eyes undoubtedly must've started to become glassy from all the alcohol. "I can kinda sense the magic within you." Dominic didn't think to lower his voice as the bar was still as loud as ever and no one would be able to hear their conversation except them. "If I'm not being too personal, what are you? Besides a lovely woman in a bar to talk to, of course," he smirked, flirtatiously.

Clara looked at Dominic, she worried in the beginning of telling him about her sad story but what she had learned from her years of life is, it's just best to spit it out in the beginning. Clara pulled herself a little more upright and listened as Dom replied, "I have to agree with you and I do have my passions." she said smiling at him. As Dom had finished pouring her shot, she picked it up, did the cheers and swigged it back, each one of these she drunk back it got easier, probably not a good thing she thought to herself.

She grabbed her water and drank another half of her glass listening to his hobbies "You work on cars," she said almost sounding surprised "Are you any good?" she asked as he finished gesturing to his jeans she took a quick peek to see that they were in fact filthy. "I know what you mean, thinking too much is exactly what I do, it's hard to just tell your self hey could you like please stop it it's very difficult sometimes," she said.

Clara listened to what he had said, smiling at his compliment she had never been the lovely girl in a bar and she had to say she quite enjoyed the attention, but about the what are you question she thought she might have some fun with the response. "Magically, is that so, you just sense it on me," she said in a playful voice. "Boy, what's a girl gotta do not to "magical," she said in the same tone, with a grin on her mouth. "I'm an Initia," she said with a gentle smile, "And what are you, kind gentle sir, if I may ask?" she said as she picked up her glass of water taking a sip.

He had met a few Initia before and always found it interesting to hear the different abilities they controlled. It seemed having the ability to manipulate a certain element could definitely come in handy at times. Being Therian felt much more physical in the way their abilities worked. Supernaturals like Initias were working purely with a sense of magic; something he wished he had at times.

Dominic pushed some of the shorter hairs around his face back as he took a long sip from his beer. "Kind and gentle? That's new," he chuckled, leaning forward in his stool. "I'm Therian," he answered with a smirk. "Lycan, to be exact. Nothing very exciting, but you... Initia. You have to tell me more about that. What elements can you control?"

"What's wrong with being kind and gentle? " she asked looking at him. "A... Wolf, right" she said trying to make sure she got the right one. Clara was about to pick up her glass of water until she realized she had drunk the whole glass, she motioned at the bartender when he came straight over to her and poured some more water, "You must come here a lot and tip well, with such good service." she said smiling towards him.

Clara knew he was probably going to ask a question, so she gave a smile and began "Okay, honestly, I'm still learning I didn't grow up knowing any of this stuff, and there is a lot of stuff to learn. , but to get back to your question my element is water." she said picking up her glass of water and taking a sip. "Water has always been my favorite element and Earth so I was lucky."

Dominic nodded as he listened to her. If ever there was an element that would fit him as a person, Water and Earth would be perfect for him too, he supposed. Both elements were always around him when he was at home or even at work. Not many other things made him feel as calm and connected as when he was home in the woods of Therian territory. Being a completely different kind of supernatural, he didn't exactly have the same kind of training she had.

"That's pretty amazing," he said as Hugh came back around with more shots and a bowl of nachos. "See? This is why I come here a lot," Dominic told her while taking a chip and scooping up more cheese. "And yea," he bent forward to speak in her ear. "I am a wolf." He ate the chip with a smile and finished off his beer. "I guess I sort of fit that stereotype. The big hairy guy that lives in the woods." Chuckling, he grabbed another chip and ate it. "Was sort of meant to be, I suppose. What about you?" He took the shot in his hand. "Would you have it any other way?"

"Yeah, I guess it is amazing," Clara said blushing a little bit, after hearing his answer. Clara watched as the Bartender brought over more shots and nachos, Clara listened as Dom was saying why he comes here a lot smiling.

"I've never had store/restaurant-bought nachos, my mom made for me them once when I 5 so..." she said trailing off watching him consume the nacho chip. Dom leaned in, he was close she could feel his breath on her neck when he said he was a wolf, she kind of wanted to come up with a joke so she said "Stick to the nachos, I don't taste that good." she said almost instantly regretting it.

"You're not that hairy," she said "No I don't think I would have it any other way, I mean I guess it would be kind of cool to be a Nephilim, but no I like being what I am." she said picking up a nacho chip.

Dominic quirked an eyebrow and smiled broadly when she quipped back at him. He was trying to be on his best behavior, but man, was she making it difficult. The pretty ones seemed to always get him in trouble... "I highly doubt that," he responded to her joke and drank the shot, lessening the chances of him controlling his ever raging flirt gene. It was clear to him the alcohol was starting to work its way through her since he had a feeling she probably wasn't the type to be openly flirtatious. He leaned back again to put some distance in between him. However much of a flirt he, was and the large amounts of alcohol he could put away, Dominic wasn't the type to ever take advantage of a woman. His mother taught him well.

He chuckled when she referred to his hair as he stuffed a nacho in his mouth and bent his head down to point at it his long and slighty greasy mop. "More hair than the average Joe, then. I gotta keep up with appearances," he joked, eating another group of nachos. "And as much as I love being a wolf, there are times when I wish I had magic like an Initia. When did you learn you had your abilities? I hear some interesting and funny stories how some people learn about theirs."

Clara blushed slightly and looked down at her shoes, quickly to bring her head up again to look at him she didn't want to be that shy but she was definitely stepping out of her comfort zone. The blonde picked up the glass of water and slowly drank a little more, she didn't feel much different after those shots the only difference was her throat was a little scratchy.

Clara picked up another nacho wanting to grab one before he would gobble them all up and put it in her mouth, listening as he asked her a question, "I was 17, I wasn't feeling like myself,  so I took a shower, with a knock on the door a strange man was at my door who I now assume was another Initia but he told me to turn around and lift up my top, and so began my magical journey. What about you, how did you find out you were a wolf?" Clara asked pushing back a piece of blonde hair behind her hair.
