Before her sapphire blue eyes, laid a Burmese ruby pendant on the desk, not far off from where she sat. It was a beautiful and enigmatic trinket, yet it laid there taunting the owner. The simple thing has antagonized the light haired Aspect since centuries ago, but she has yet to dispose of it. As well as the charismatic gem held its charms, it was probably what secured its lifeline, in the first place. Malva has not taken her eyes off the red ruby pendant that has been showing off its fleeting features. Long story short, the small thing held a certain form of significance towards the purple dragon, but it wasn't something others knew of. Not even her siblings, much less anyone else. It wasn't as if Malva Ailward was the most sociable person to hang out with.

Pursing her lips lightly, she lets out a heaved sigh, feeling the small edge of the burden lifted off her. "This isn't working..why can't I remember." Oh yes, the Aspect of Magic has had difficulty on placing things between her subconscious. It didn't seem as if it was going to leave anytime soon, though. Yet another problem on her platter. It was never-ending, unfortunately for the Aspect. Standing up from her sitting position, she grabbed the pendant by its chain and made her way towards her wardrobe, pulling out a box and closed it with a huff. She had just tossed the pendant in it and began to leave it as she closed the doors. As she faced against the wall, she wondered if it was a wise decision for her to leave it lying around. Of course, it wasn't as if someone would come finding it and she didn't exactly left it out in the open for any spectator to look at. That pendant has been with her since the late 15th century, and served her many bad memories as it harnessed mainly the dark energy of every time she had to fend off for her aspect.

Can you blame her for being paranoid? It's a powerful trinket.

But she knew fully well why she couldn't have it in her presence, much less wear it around her neck like how she wore her amethyst necklace that she enchanted from her staff. It tempts her and those voices in her head did not help her do a better job at concealing the fact that something is wrong with her either. To Malva, her problem was only a mild one and it was one she could handle herself without involving other parties. She intends to keep it that way. Hopefully.

Taking a hold of her bag, she then wrapped a jacket around her. Her wardrobe of choice has gone for a change lately. She opted for a more casual look instead of wearing dresses everywhere, but that didn't mean she has lost it completely. Losing her identity would be the last thing she wanted. It has been weeks long ever since she tried to find out if anything was wrong with her, and her memory wasn't really helping at all. She thought she would take a day off from stressing and pressuring herself to squeeze the truth out of her. It wasn't healthy, as Cora would say. Malva had a feeling that she might need her energy soon, wasn't sure why but if there was anything she has learned from her many years of living, it's that she could always trust her instincts. Despite it getting her into trouble most of the time. She walked down the stairs and out of the manor, deciding to let wherever her legs take her. But when it took her to a certain territory, well, the moment she realized where she was at, it was a bit too late to turn back now.

She wasn't sure why she had traveled to Celestial territory but now that she was here, she did find some truth to her instincts taking her there. There was one person she has longed to meet ever since they found out the Wayfinder was alive and well. What she wasn't sure of, is whether it would be civil or hostile meeting. Surely it wouldn't impact the professionalism boundaries as they represent both their respective factions, but the same couldn't be said about their personal ones. Like the rest of the Ailward Aspects, Malva too, had a pre-existing relationship notion with the Wayfinder. "Might as well.." She mumbled to herself as she literally just let herself walk in the compounds of their residency, requesting for an audience with Ophelia, as she waited by the spacious lobby. "You know, the quicker you get me Ophelia, the quicker I'll leave. It's a win win situation." She rolled her eyes at the female Celestial who was unwavering but went to get her the Wayfinder nonetheless. She got a lot of dirty looks but it wasn't something new for her, considering their inbound history. It wasn't as if Malva was fazed by it too.

Ophelia had been jumping through many hoops trying to get the celestials onto the peace treaty but it wasn’t as simple as most made it out to be, the first amendment was one thing, everyone back then was willing to sign for the sake of peace, they were all long standing members of the city and they managed to settle their differences for the greater good. But now she was a stranger in this city, coming in and searching for a part of what they had and she couldn’t blame them for being wary and not wanting to change things how they were “Believe me you do not wanna get involved in ambassador politics” she admitted pressing her hand against her temple, my head hurts just thinking about it.

“Evermore wasn’t my first choice of place to come” she responded honestly with a shrug, it was a massive risk and she was still yet to know if it had been worth it, the smarter part of her had wanted to stay on the run and keep her people as far from the Ailwards as possible but Ophelia liked to believe they didn’t actually seek harm to her people and so she had taken the bold approach, knowing it would be hard for the Ailward to corner her in a place they were supposed to be setting an example “But it hasn’t turned out to be the worst decision I ever made” she commented with a shrug, she felt like her people were slowly learning what being free was again, something that had be stripped from them for 100 years and some for almost their entire lives.

Ophelia shrugged in response to the aspect’s comments about trust, the thing about trust was that it had to be earned and rightfully so, nowadays she didn’t trust the aspects and they didn’t trust her. Ophelia wasn’t sure that could ever really be repaired, once something happened to shatter your faith in someone it was always there in the back of your mind, making you doubt their words and their actions. “Too true, I can count the people I trust on one hand nowadays” which was a sad thing to say considering she was immortal. Ophelia was at the point in her life where she doubted most people, it was easier than letting them in only to be let down. “I’m hoping to make my case to the ambassadors with time, through action and sticking to the thinks I say” she nodded softly, your word was only as good as your intent to follow through with it after all.

“You’d think after a lifetime of being a slave to time I’d have some control over my fate” she echoed the other woman’s sentiment with a half shrug, the world didn’t seem to give a damn people, gifted or not, mortal or not, the world moved on whether you wanted it to or not and things like magic unravelled in the strangest of ways. Malva was right though, there was someone out there who sought to harm the Ailwards and didn’t care who they used or hurt in the process, Ophelia was sure they wouldn’t bat an eyelid if her people fell in the process and that was something to truly be afraid of “As much as I wish I could do or help more, that’s the only scrap of information I have and so far my own leads have lead to dead ends” she shrugged letting out a long breath “Maybe you can figure it out, you’ve always been ahead of your time when it comes to things like this” Ophelia had always been pretty amazed with the way that Malva understood magic, like it was a weave of threads which she could reach out and untangle, no doubts this was one that was far more knotted and twisted than most but if anyone could pull the thread and unravel it, it was the aspect of magic.

“Maybe you should start with those memories, sounds like they were important” Ophelia was hesitant as she offered her hand out to the other female, the celestials had the ability to see glimpses of the future and maybe if Ophelia could see something important, she could point Malva in the right direction.

Malva can't say Ophelia wasn't wrong at the distressing matters of ambassadors. She felt sorry for Venetus but it was a position he had to take up and unfortunately for the older one of the Ailward siblings, Malva can't find herself helping because she's very bad at them. She's the unpredictable sibling that doesn't stay by only one spot. One day, you'd find her basking in the light and warmth, the other you might find her keeping herself so withdrawn from everyone, so much that everyone would think twice before knocking to her room. For someone who was burn a pure ball of Fae, who had trouble resenting her parents because of the deceit and darkness  they brought over, wielding dark magic should be difficult for the Aspect of Magic, and not because she could not maneuver it properly, it was more to the mental state problem where she hated the very idea of where that came from.

It tempts her, every time she uses it. Hence, the creation of the ruby pendant she made sure to hold to, everywhere she goes. But sometimes having something filled with so much darkness within wasn't really the most ideal jewelry nor accessory so she often kept it away, as well as hidden from other's eyes. "You know, I hated Evermore before.. I really did. I hate that it was the place where so many trouble were spurred within and mostly the fact that it stole us from the Isle of Skye. I dreaded every day having to maintain a secret identity..only wanting to do nothing more than just return home. It didn't really help when we decided to make a permanent hold on the city afterwards.. It's an idealistic city where everyone is finally able to co-exist in equally peaceful terms, so it's refreshing to see something we could not achieve centuries earlier before. But can't say I'm all too on board with the circumstances around it, though that's probably just me being bitter. It'll pass... soon." Truthfully to be honest, even the Aspect had a difficulty in determining her stand at those points. She wasn't sure what she should think, with the amount of problems that kept bombarding her head, and their very huge problem that seems to be the nuclear warhead that might destroy everything they've worked towards.

"We can never truly get used to what we are supposed to specialize in." The flaxen haired Aspect shrugged casually. "I guess it's more to the whole 'you thought you had it' dilemma. You thought you finally got a control over it but it's actually far from it. I'm thankful and immensely grateful for the piece of information you have given me, Phe. It's not much, true. But it can be something..if we try hard enough to see it through. There's always a loophole." Malva had deduced that the form of magic being used on the Isle was either new or so ancient she probably even forgot what it was, herself. "I'm not surprised if this takes a while.. witches and warlocks- really tend to be 'creative' with their magic. Almost somewhat placing a threshold or trademark to everything. But the good thing about that, is that when you've been around it a lot, you get to pinpoint it quickly. Unfortunately, it's not like there's only a dozen forms of magic and only a few hundred of witches to go around in the world so I need to start somewhere."

The Darker of Two.

Hearing that compliment coming from the raven haired Celestial, she only offer her a tight lipped grin in return. "I was ahead of my time once upon a time ago, Phe. That's like 1200 years ago where most covens focused more on traditional and ancestral magic instead of others. It was stretched wider throughout the centuries. Maybe I could figure it out, but it would really help if I have all my memories intact. I reckon I would need to consult Reus about this- despite our.. shaken relationship at the moment. What I fear is not if we'll ever be able to unravel the knots. It's more to the time given. With enough resources, I might be able to work my way through but what of the time? It's not like they gave us a specific hourglass to work on." That fear has embedded itself in her roots, fearing that she would be too late. Nodding in response to what Ophelia had suggested, she agreed they should start with the memories. "They are.. I went through my memory lane a while ago to search for something but I couldn't find it. I hid some memories and I was being a sly one and unpredictable, so much my current self has no idea where I could've hidden it. My spell journals held every form of magic that has ever existed.. at least that hasn't escape my notice and the ones I created. But I don't exactly have a spell journal to go with my memories. Maybe I should probably start doing one." A chuckle erupted from the Russian woman. Which was highly ironic since she always had bad premonitions in the nightmares most of the time. Astral plane wasn't something one should mess with, after all.

When the wayfinder offered her hand out, she looked at it skeptically at first because she was confused by the sudden gesture. That was until she understood what she was on about. "Fair warning, Phe. I am always plagued with the darkness that crept from every corner. It's not really giving me a break ever since I rejected and evaded it before. But your precognitive abilities are one others did not have a hand in, so I'd trust you to thread it through.." With that, she clasped on the celestial's hand in her grasp gently, taking a hold of it.  Let's just say if the Aspect of Magic ended up being unstable in her own element at times such as this, it's not really a bright eyed approach because no one else will be able to sort her through it. Since there's no other Aspect of Magic to manually guide her again.

Ophelia nodded softly, for her, Evermore perhaps didn’t feel like home because she’d never really had one before, the wayfinder had spent most of her life running from place to place, never feeling like she really fitted in anywhere. Evermore had been her last resort, a risk she was willing to take for the chance it would give her people to live normal lives and while it was paying off and she had so many reasons to stay, there was still a part of her that just longed to run once more “Living the life I have, I’m not sure Evermore will ever truly feel like home” same as the isle of Skye had never really been her home, she had simple been a guest there and eventually she had come to no longer to be welcome  “I imagine it’s similar to you, though you had a home you lost instead” it was irrational, the way people associated a place with a certain feeling.

“Well I suppose if we did then we would no longer be needed” she quipped in response, the elements of the world weren’t theirs to own in any shape or form, you’d really have to own a god complex to believe you could. But she could understand the other woman’s frustrated, when you spent so long surrounded by one thing you truly believed that you understood and the realization that you understood nothing at all must be crippling, especially when you were several centuries old as was the aspect of magic. Ophelia had always know the concept of magic itself was complicated and everyone had their own spin on it, like they were writing the same language but the way they wrote it was in different handwriting and used different media, some were rough and hard to read, others were clean and simple, all of them were powerful.

That was the hardest part about all of this, they knew so very little about what they were up against that the clock could be running out and they wouldn’t even know. Ophelia broke her gaze as the other female mentioned Aureus, she didn’t know why hearing his name even annoyed her so much, it just kinda did. She blew out a soft breath remembering the topic at hand and the letting it go “Well whoever they are, it seems they are biding their time at the very least” though that was a worrying statement in itself. Ophelia couldn’t help but chuckle at the idea of Malva hiding her own memories and then not giving herself any way to get them back, seemed like she didn’t want them to be found “Are you sure past you wanted you to go down this path? If she didn’t leave you a single clue on how to get them back then surely there’s a reason?” perhaps figuring out the reason would be enough and if it wasn’t then it would likely lead to the memories anyway.

Ophelia listened to Malva and nodded her head softly, she didn’t really know what she was hoping to see, but the aspects had always been tied to important events around the world and if anyone had a future worth seeing for clues it was someone like her “I can handle it” she assured with a nod, lucky for her, Ophelia’s kind were born of light magic and it always seemed to protect them, like a small film barrier which warded off dark magic. Clasping her hand around around Mal’s she closed her eyes, allowing whatever the skies wanted to tell her to come over her, surround her and speak to her.

The vision started with a dark sky, not a single star visible in it, in the room she was standing there was a candle and Malva was sitting and whispering to it, outside she heard the voices of Venetus and Aureus talking, she couldn’t make out exactly what they were saying because the vision was focused on Malva and the candle, on the table were two mystical objects she had never seen before, a stone which glowed with an ethereal light which gave her all kinds of bad feelings and a feather, perfectly pristine and bright, what she would describe the perfect embodiment of light to be, it was clear whatever Malva was doing had to do with those objects.

Ophelia did her best to listen closely to the conversation outside the halls hoping to hear something telling but just as she focused in on the conversation the vision started to fade, all she managed to catch were a few words “Betrayed” and “Guard”. The wayfinder furrowed her brow feeling it fade away before she opened her eyes. She released the aspect of magic’s hand placing her own in her lap as she tried to make any sense of what she just saw, all her mind kept coming back to however was the number 2, always the number 2.

Ophelia pressed her lips together as she considered how to explain what she saw before climbing to her feet and grabbing a pen and paper from her desk, she wasn’t the most talented artist but she did her best to draw out what she saw on that table in the vision, the stone and the feather, 2 items again one of light magic and one of dark.

Malva knew the feeling of being an outcast, of not having any sense of belonging anywhere. Despite living her life for quite some time, she still felt out of place most of the time. The Isle of Skye held a bigger level of significance to her due to it. She never had a home. When they settled in there, on an uninhabited island to start fresh and anew, she felt as if she was given a second chance to make good use of her life and to prevent others from ever feeling the same path her siblings walked through. It was the home she had desperately clung on to. The very idea and existence of it caused her heart to swell in joy and happiness because she could finally find herself there, without having to pretend to be someone else.

"I've never felt I belonged anywhere, really. The Isle is the only place I could feel at peace and come to terms with myself. I didn't have to pretend and I was free to be whoever I wanted to be. And for someone who grew up being prepped for her future for the likes of others, it was refreshing. It gave me a second chance at life that I never thought I had. It held a special place in my heart and since I can't figure out how it fell, it made me feel useless. I'm supposed to have the knowledge of every possible forms of magic that roamed the earth." The distress that it caused the Aspect of Magic was very evident. Any more tipping off the edge, and she'd probably go full blown crazy. Malva felt the tides of pressure and expectations resting on her shoulder, but the burden is not easy to be eased.

"Magic is so complex.. you can never truly get your way around it, no matter how many centuries you try. Most witches only lived twice the span of a human life, some tricked the afterlife using magic.. and the latter used the immortality card. It's hard to find any witches who lived more than 200 years. Even the ones I've met before lived no more than 300 despite having the help of an immortality charm. No doubt it doesn't work fully like the ones we gave the guards. No one should have that kind of power to bestow such gift so recklessly. It would not be balanced. The point is.. Even if I wanted to reach out to other diviners, I can't exactly do that. Not physically, since they're dead. Unless I channel the ancestral plane to contact them, but-" Pushing herself up from the sofa, she crossed her arms before huffing. "We have a few problems. A) It requires deep level of concentration. B) A lot of magic. C) You have to have a connection with them. And of course D) Did I mention my coven is not particularly fond of me? So I can't go on asking their help because I'm sure they'd love to push me off." Despite all that, the flaxen haired Aspect knew with her given abilities, she could make something work. She just had to know how to maneuver it carefully.

"The kind of magic they used is either new or ancient. I'll safely go with the second option because I highly doubt it would escape my radar so easily if anyone did that. Meaning, they have an access to old and almost forgotten spells. Maybe, even a grimoire too. Who knows. But I'm keeping my eyes out during lunar events.. especially eclipses. They would be able to channel so much energy from it and even though we might have to wait for them to strike us first, at least I'll be able to retrace it. Hopefully." Now, she did not like the mention of pushing a sacrificial lamb in front just to get back at them but if it had to be done, she'd do it again and again. When Ophelia said something regarding her memories being hidden by past her because it was better off that way, she couldn't help but to ponder at what the other woman said. She wasn't wrong about that. Obviously, Malva probably hid it for the better. She wouldn't go through such difficulty if it wasn't because of that.

It was almost a while until Ophelia released her hold on her hand. Biting her bottom lip, the Aspect of Magic followed the wayfinder's gesture as she then sketched what seemed to be two items. A feather and a stone. It was a weird image that probably would come off as something random but Malva knew it couldn't possibly be a coincidence. Nothing is ever a coincidence these days. "A feather and a stone? What could that mean?" Then an idea struck her, where Malva leaned in to see the drawing. "Phe, was the stone red in color? Wait for a moment, I'll go get it." Being able to create portals proved to be an advantage for the purple dragon as she conjured a simple one and went in, no doubt to retrieve one particular pendant from the box she kept in earlier. Soon, she came back with a red ruby pendant within her grasp. The intimidating blood colored stone was emitting a very strong aura, an almost ominous and malevolent one. One look is all that it takes for it to manipulate your head into accepting it.

It was probably why Malva kept it locked because even she had a difficult time fighting the urge to wear it. "This one?" The Russian born woman placed the pendant on the table in her peripheral vision. "This thing is probably the darkest object I've ever known. Well, originally it was just a Burmese ruby pendant I got almost four centuries back, while I was in Lisbon. I remember not liking the temptation that followed when I tapped into the darker side of magic so I transferred the energy into this piece of jewelry, to contain it. So that in the future, I don't have to tap in the dark energy directly. I could just channel it from here. I don't remember much about its creation and when I used it, it's all fuzzy in here." She pointed to her head, where it was clear to both woman that it wasn't just a minor case of amnesiac properties. More like she had no recollection of it. As if it never existed in the first place. "The feather could symbolize the light whilst the stone is the dark? It would probably make sense since I'm always finding myself in the middle of it. What else did you see? Or heard? Did you see anyone else?"

Ophelia could understand how much Skye had meant to Malva, for a time Phe truly believed she might stay on the Isle for the rest of her years, for the first time in a long time she thought she had found somewhere she belonged, with people who only sought to protect her and her people and not hunt them to the ends of the earth like every greedy person she had met. She had been sorely wrong, she knew that now and looking back her visit to Skye was always treated like a temporary thing and that was why Venetus probably kept her at a distance. “It’s scary isn’t it, knowing there are things in the world you can’t control” she knew that feeling well, she lived with it near every day of her life and every time she thought she regained some control she was reminded she would never truly have it.

Ophelia remained quiet as Malva talked, it had always been kinda fascinating to her, listen to each of the aspects talk about their elements and the way things worked, it seemed like every element was it’s own complex puzzle and it was their role to figure out how to read and understand it. For the average person, magic was something Diviners had, it was powerful and as far as she knew, likely what had originally sparked the world of the supernatural “Sounds pretty complicated” she commented with a furrowed brow, diviners tended to keep to themselves so Phe wasn’t all that familiar with their customs, the general consensus however was that their magic could be interpreted in so many ways that it boredlined on being able to do anything. “So your only option is to hope it’s documented somewhere in an old spellbook” she commented her deductions from what the other female was trying to say.

As if to confirm what Ophelia said, Malva continued to talk, the wayfinder leaned her head against her palm as she listened, taking in all the information that came from the other woman. “I don’t know if it counts for much because it was all street word and hear say but…” she shrugged softly “Everything I ever heard about the contact I was reaching at the other end of the chain was that they were a very experienced diviner, I’d say you’re right in assuming this is very old magic” it felt weird to be trying to analyze something she really knew very little about. At least very little in the sense she didn’t have access to magic herself “One thing is for sure, they know how to harness celestial energy as a power source” she muttered angrily knowing how greatly her inner power had been misused.

Ophelia’s visions were never that simple, she swore the universe just threw her the most out of context things just to challenge her. Ophelia had to hope that the aspect of magic knew more about what Ophelia had seen than she did, the thing with having visions about other people’s lives was that they were in their perspective, which made it somewhat difficult to take in the details of what was happening aside from the main focus of what she was seeing. Ophelia barely had time to speak before Malva had upped from her seat and disappeared in quite literally in a puff of smoke. Ophelia blinked a couple of times almost in shock before she turned her eyes back on her drawing, furrowing her brow as she thought of the two feelings she got from the both of them.

Before she knew it Malva was back, an item in hand which she set down next to the sketch. The wayfinder could barely look at the stone longer than a few seconds, it made her cringe away from the feeling she got which crept over her whole body and caused a shudder to roll down her spine “I think that’s it” she admitted keeping her eyes averted, the very presence of it gave her such a dreading feeling in her stomach. Hearing Malva’s words about the stone’s origin only confirmed her suspicion that this very stone was supposed to represent darkness, darkness in a level she had never ever seen before.

“The two of them felt like they balanced one another out, I would look at one and feel an overwhelming sense of one side of the scale but when I looked at both, it was like there was a perfectly equal equation between them” she guessed that was the representation of all magic right, light balanced by equal amounts of darkness. “It was very fuzzy” she admitted “Almost like you were so completely entranced by these 2 things that everything else was being shut out” she kept talking, trying to describe as much of what she saw “There wasn’t anything telling on the location sadly but I could faintly hear Aureus and Venetus’ voices” she pursed her lips “Whatever they were talking about it wasn’t good but the only words I managed to catch were betrayed and guard which doesn’t give us much to go on” the wayfinder sighed a little confused by what it could all mean.

Snorting slightly at Ophelia's response, she shrugged casually and huffed out. It was a very whirlwind habit of hers. "I always knew I could never actually control the magic that flows around in the world. Either I just push it towards the road of denial, or I tried my best to overcome it. I was too naive to think it could ever be controlled the first time. When you're trying to keep something that is so unpredictable and wild like that, in one place, it's bound to lash out in retaliation. Unfortunately, they never seem to be quite civil on that manner." Despite never experiencing any backfired spell, Malva knew one day, she might be a victim of it. Although she does wish it doesn't come around any time soon. Not now. She has way too much to handle on her plate than to figure out the details of a backfired mishap.

Nodding in response to what the wayfinder concluded, the flaxen haired Aspect fiddled with her amethyst necklace that hung lowly around her neckline. The staff she enchanted into a form of jewelry to make it easier to use and visible to other eyes to be nothing more but a trinket. "Seems like it. I could reach out to them but I can't exactly promise it'll be pleasant, neither would I actually gain answers from them. But there's always a loophole. I just have to exert some force." That wouldn't be the firsthand move Malva would go for but if needed, why not. "It would definitely be documented and I'm sure I could get my hands on them soon. Given one of them is not already placed somewhere in my room. One of the times my brother would actually thank me for collecting malevolent items all around the world throughout the centuries. I just need to find the proper and actual way to fend the temptation off if it ever comes down to me trying it out. You know- for research purposes." That line almost never worked with her siblings around, but what they don't know won't hurt them.

"Any diviner who's experienced and risky enough could do about anything with the right spell. The way this is going, it's probably more than one person involved. At least, in my count, it could be one very powerful diviner who channeled into others. You have the binding agent, check. Power source, check. Spell, check. And you got yourself a big caster." She whistled, knowing very well how messy things could get but also knowing how well they tend to get too. There was a reason why everyone is susceptible to magic, them included. However, the dragon was very interested when she heard they knew how to harness and make use of celestial energy. "Now that is one very valuable information, Phe. Celestial energy isn't that easy to maneuver but it's very powerful.. all is pointing towards the path where this diviner- whoever the hell he or she is, is one very experienced one who knows their stuff." All the more reason for them to be worried on this not so settling matter. They had other problems to take care of but this seemed to be the one they should be prioritizing.

She saw the way Ophelia cringe at the sight of the pendant and she, out of everyone, knew the very reason to why. It's a god given bless that she hasn't gotten so deep into it despite holding onto it for almost four centuries of worth already. Hearing everything being spilled out from the raven haired woman, she nodded in contempt, ears trying to make its very best use of catching every detail needed. And now she needed to translate it into something both of them could understand. "As the Aspect of Magic, I'm thrown into the middle point of both light and dark energy. The candle is always used by witches and warlocks, light and dark alike, as a binding agent. It's because the element in it was neutral. I can't explain how it goes because this is witchy 101 and it could get very confusing so I'll try to get to the point. I always had a hard time controlling myself whenever I had to draw the energy directly from its source, without being swayed by the other. I would almost forget what I was going to do when I'm in it. It's somewhat a limbo." However, when she heard Ophelia talking about Aureus and Venetus, she knew she had to dig into it.

It was bad enough her magic is currently unstable now, so she can't leave out any possibilities lying around. "Betrayed..and guard. That surely doesn't give me a good feeling at all. Unfortunately, I wouldn't know exactly what they would mean. Contrary to others' belief, we don't confide in each other about everything. Just as I'm doing right now goes unnoticed by my siblings." Malva lets out a heaved sigh, burdened and stricken by the fact that their sibling bond has grown distant as time goes by.

Ophelia nodded softly, she didn’t imagine any part of trying to find someone who didn’t want to be found would be easy, even more so because they wielded magic and therefore were able to cover their tracks in a way other species couldn’t. Tack onto that the fact that the person who orchestrated this did so without being physically present and that they could have gotten someone else to actually do the heavy lifting and you had yourself a big mess of a puzzle to solve. “Something tells me no part of this is going to be pleasant” she admitted with a shrug, if it was she supposed they would have done it already right.

Thinking about the two items Ophelia had to wonder what the symbolism was, were they simply things that Malva was using to draw power from or were their involvements to what happened more literal than that? She couldn’t know for sure but she did get the feeling they were deeply connected. “And that would explain the chain of connections to get to the top, the person I talked to on the other end might not even be the person who did this” which put them either further away from the truth, much like she was sure whoever this was planned, it was clear that had gone to great and drastic lengths to cover their tracks which only had her more worried that there was far more to come.

Ophelia nodded a little noting that any diviner capable of handling a power source as volatile as celestial energy was probably capable of a lot. Through her life she had only met a select number of diviners able to handle it without causing something completely unintended to happen. She guessed celestial energy represented the wild spirit of magic, they were after all from the very thing most diviners drew their power from, the night sky. Albeit most Diviners drew from the sun and the moon because they were the nearest but any kind of celestial event held significance “Well they say that any magic can be broken but coming up against an aspect’s power, that had to take some serious power.”

The stone, was everything she had seen in the vision but somehow looking at it with her own eyes in real life felt so much worse, it was clear to her that the stone was the full embodiment of dark magic and being from a species of light nature, it had a great affect on her. Hearing her words about the candle and the suggested relevance of the two items Ophelia shook her head “It’s possible but it doesn’t feel like that’s it” she answered honestly, in the vision she had gotten the impressed the items were of personal relevance to whatever it was Malva was trying to track down, she had to hope it was the same diviner they were looking for because they already had half of the equation “Do you know the history of...that?” she still refused to look at it but she pointed her finger in it’s direction as she spoke.

Ophelia shifted her position a little lifting one leg to cross over her other “Well one thing is for sure, I don’t think we’re gonna solve this today” she admitted with a shrug “We should probably start by trying to track down the feather, since that’s the missing major part of the vision” she paused pressing her lips together “If it’s an object of light nature maybe Argent would know something about it” she suggested. Honestly she was a little exhausted, with her emotions running high and having been through a vision Ophelia felt pretty drained.

After everything they've talked about, Malva did came to one final conclusion on the diviner's identity that might help with her search. "At least we know one thing for sure. The diviner that did the spell is a dark one. I can't see a light diviner doing any of it as the aura is more than enough to give a clear picture it wasn't associated with that element, in the first place." Despite not helping much, it gave her the reassurance she needed, and the will of a person is quite the powerful tool. "The good thing about the chain is that, they're clearly using hierarchy system. That should be easier to figure out who's the higher up, but it's also vague and ambiguous to retrace it back one by one. Given that they leave themselves unchecked, at all." Malva had never actually tracked down diviners before. Not the people she didn't have clear correlation on, at least. She had nothing to guide her to find them, unfortunately.

She nodded in response to what Ophelia said about magic being able to be broken as the nature rectified for balance, which meant everything has to have a loophole. "If I can find the particular spell they used, I can create a counter spell for it. It'll take time, who knows how long, days, weeks, months? Maybe even years. I have no actual estimation. But at least it could be undone." For a pessimist, she understood how these might not go well with her but she's been thriving for positiveness for a while. Surely, she might find it in her favor to come across one. "What honestly worries me is that it's almost impossible to escape my knowledge when they did the spell. They could've cloaked it to avert my attention elsewhere to make sure I got occupied with the distraction that served their purpose, but that would've been a lot of work. I wonder just how many diviners they had in the coven." Usually, the Aspect of Magic would be thrilled to find potential witches and warlocks alike. She would like if she didn't favor the fact at all.

But, not like this. Not if they can't be controlled by them and had the need to go against the balance scale of nature. That would prove to be more of a problem to her rather than a solution. The wayfinder was having a hard time looking at the pendant and she could, once again understand why. She tried her best to keep it out of the peripheral vision too, so she ended up tucking it in her pocket. "Yes. Surprisingly, I'm still surprised that I kept it with me this long or even though of creating it in the first place. The pendant was a gift by an old friend who owns an apothecary in Marseille. But the magic it contains derives directly from the source. What I received was nothing more than a trinket. I was the one who decided to make use of it because rubies are quite the gemstones that could hold in some energy. However, I'll be sure to note that the fact it could hold a lot more than I expected, surprised me. It could withstand a lot of the dark energy. I had no brief recollection to why I actually created it, so you could see why I'm feeling highly conflicted with myself because my memories are not exactly where it should be. All I knew is that I created it to aid me." The confusion that swells up made the Ailward Aspect utterly clueless.

"It was also created during the times when sacrificial magic roamed wildly in our world. Until we had to put a stop to it because it was too much occurring at the same time. The people who performs sacrificial magic is always smart. In order to take a life, they must also restore a life. Same thing goes for the opposite. There were a lot of unnecessary deaths so it had to stop. That was why such things like the Salem Witch Trials occurred." It still left a void in her knowing she did not stop the gruesome manner of deaths that were being delivered. When Ophelia said she should probably ask someone else for help, she was slightly relieved knowing it would be Argent. "Maybe she would. I haven't spoken to her in a while.. but I'll be sure to get in contact with her soon. It's about time I start prying into my siblings' life." She chuckled softly and decided today was enough for them and packed her stuff before getting up. "Thank you for today, Phe. I will let you know if anything comes by to me." Taking another leap of surprise, the Aspect of Magic actually embraced the raven haired Celestial. "It's relieving to see I could share these things.. It hasn't been easy for the past few months keeping all of this doubt to myself." Smiling briefly, she then took her leave.

“The darker of two” Ophelia echoed her previous words in response to Malva’s conclusion, it made sense for it to be a dark diviner, celestial energy was at it’s core a neutral power source so it could be used to power dark or light spells alike and she was right, it didn’t seem possible that light magic could do something as destructive as send an island down into the ocean. She didn’t have much hope for following the people trail, they rarely lead to much other than dead ends, it wasn’t like they had many leads to follow though and should this vision lead to nothing there had to be something else.

“A counter spell?” she celestial mused as she thought about what that would even mean, despite being hopeful she knew it wouldn’t lead to bringing back the people that were lost and it would never repair the rifts created between all the people involved. Ophelia didn’t really think being able to counter the spell would do anything but remind everyone of the tragedy but if it was what Malva felt like she needed to do, it wasn’t her place to say otherwise.  “All of it worries me” she echoed with a sad smile, especially because she didn’t even understand in the level that Malva did, she felt a bit like a lost child when faced with this particular reality and she didn’t know if she would ever feel differently “Powerful diviners usually have devout followers, who knows how many were out there” now that was scary to think about.

Ophelia leaned her head on her hand as she listened to the aspect talk about the stone, in the vision the thing hadn’t been set in the pendant anymore, it had been removed but she was pretty certain it was the very same stone she had seen. It didn’t help that Malva had very little recollection of the item or how it came to be. Ophelia wondered if perhaps it had previously been owned by someone else and that was why she got such a sense of attachment from it. All of that was overwhelmed by the feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach every time her eyes fell on it however, she didn’t even know how Malva could stand to touch it. “The fact that you made something that does” she kept her head turned away from it “this is pretty terrifying.”

Ophelia knew one thing for sure, she wasn’t going to be the person to solve this mystery, if she was then she would have figured it out already because it certainly hadn’t been for lack of trying. It was frustrating for sure, especially because she knew the best hope of figuring all this out laid with Malva and the other aspects, it made her feel a little useless she had to admit. But she had done her part and she had to hope it was enough. When the aspect pulled her in for a hug she froze for a moment, a little taken aback by the gesture but after a moment she wrapped her arms around the other female returning it. Ophelia hadn’t really been trying to cause it but it seemed like something had been unlocked in the aspect of magic today “Take care of yourself” the wayfinder stated as she pulled back and nodded politely as she watched the brunette exit the way she arrived without a care for anyone’s judgemental stares.
