Home. Over the centuries he had lived; the Former Viking had quite a few places where he had lived. But only a few, he would ever consider a true home. First, being Kattegat. The place, where he was born and lived the first 35 years of his entire existence. The place, where the Viking blood and spirit was embedded into him from childhood. Eirik missed his home. And often thought about it, and how it had changed over the centuries, he had not been there. But no one was waiting for him there; both of his parents had died. His mother sadly, a few weeks after his birth. His father killed before his eyes, during his teenage years. And never having any siblings-there was no one to grieve him when he had died and was reborn as a Valkyr. And Evermore, Probably one of the other places, he had been settled the longest along side Gideon and the rest of their faction. Eirik had known Gideon, for most of his Immortal life. And the Original Valkyr, was the one and only person that helped him accept his new identity and life; when he had been in denial for the first 5-6 decades, give or take a few years.
From a young age, he had been a believer of Odin, The Norse Deities and Valhalla. To him, there were was no other God or Deities. Just those of Norse Mythology and Odin; was The Father of All. As other men and women of his kind believed in too. There were many Vikings sayings that Eirik had been taught from childhood. Most he still remembered and often recited. Some he often used to teach lessons to the younger Valkyrs, when it came to combat. Finding some teachings helped his students embrace that nature more. But one saying in particular, in regards to life teachings had always stuck with him; Strength is life, for the strong have the right to rule. Honor is life, for with no honor, one may as well be dead. Loyalty is life, for without one’s clan one has no purpose. Death is life, one should die as they have lived.
When he got slain in a battle, on the seas during a storm. He was waiting to descend to Valhalla. But instead, he got saved by a few Nomads. Whom, gave him Immortality. A second chance at life...a longer life, as something he did not forsee becoming. Something, for a time..which he didn’t even want. And that, along with need to consume blood was hard to fathom. It was one thing to use weapons and slay one’s enemies. But to feed on people, revel in it and get so consumed; he needed rehabilitation...well that was another thing all together.
Even though, he had recovered from it all. Deep down, he feared about getting hooked again. But as always knew; fear was for the weak. And he was not weak. Eirik didn’t intend on being anyways lamb. And he always found ways to fight through, whatever challenges life sprung on him. And during his long existence, there had been many. But he had stayed Loyal to Gideon, and their kind; when he had found more like him. Even if Eirik had sometimes, wandered off on his own for a little while. He always came back. They were his new family of sorts. Even though, quite a few were usually intimidated by him. Not that he could blame most people; he stood at a towering 6’3” and was still very in touch with his Vikings way. Especially when it came to Combat and weapons. They warmed up to him eventually, and he to them. Once a Viking-always a Viking. At least, at heart he remained one. But his brute force, strength and skills were a remainder of the olden days.
When it came to letting go, of certain things. It was a mixed bag for Eirik really. After a few centuries, he even lost his real name. And most people not knew him as Oliver Trobeck. Only those truly close to him, and that were aware of his past; knew his real name and were allowed to call him, as such if preferred. But to others; he was simply Oliver or Mr Trobeck. Even if his name was quite famous in history and the Valkyrs. He always brushed off the attention. The words off his deeds and past actions, had spread through time and legends. Like about any true warrior.
Over the centuries, he made living by making and selling weapons. As a child, he was always quite resourceful. And managed to make something, out of nothing. And when weapons were short and or broken, he got inventive and used things that were around him. That was one of the reasons, why he had opened up a weaponry store in Evermore. From beautiful daggers and knives, to swords and dual blades. To archery equipment and even guns. He had a variety of weapons to sell. Most of them, were hand made and crafted by him. The rest, had been supplied. If people, didn’t find what they were looking for. Eirik was more often than not, to create something new and unique for them.
He took joy and pride in his work. Every weapon was unique, as were people. No one weapon looked or felt the same. Not unless, he done replicas of course. And there were a few; especially for the dual daggers. A few of the weapons had something engraved on the handles. Usually the words ‘Warrior’, ‘Lion’, ‘Courage’ or ‘Strength’ in Viking Symbols. A few rare one’s were decorated with other Viking Runes. They always looked beautiful and unique. If the handles were empty. People still admired the beauty of the woods and materials used to make them. Most of the bases were always made out of wood and different metals combined. It gave it an interesting pattern and sterdy base. He had spent many years, decades making all sorts of weapons before he finally opened up the shop. It took a lot of time and effort into perfecting his craft. Patience wasn’t his strongest virtue-when things went wrong. It got him frustrated, until he learned the right ways to go about it. Now it came easier, due to having centuries of experience.
It was a miserably and rainy day. And business, had been slow that entire day. Which left Eirik to organise some for the newer weapons putting them up on display. The Valkyr, had some music playing in the background as usual. He didn’t like silence much. He had always been around a lively atmosphere, which made him rather a rowdy person now-a-days. Lively and spirited. Not everyone liked it though. But it didn’t bother him; as he was always used to a loud sort of life, growing up around the Vikings and being one himself. Just as he was in the middle of putting up the new swords on the top shelf. The sound of the door bell, signalling a customer caught his attention.
Glancing down towards the young female, that had wondered in. Eirik greeted her, from his spot on the ladder. “Welcome to Trobeck’s Weaponry store. Feel free to look around...if you need any help, or advice...just give me a shout.” Despite his very mixed nationality, from his parents. Eirik had a mainly Scandinavian accent, a husky sexy voice. But most of his Immortal life...he was starting to sport more of an English accent, which was getting more and more, stronger the older he got. The store was quiet spacious. Behind the counter...there as a small hall-way which lead into another room; which was his working space; if he was creating more things in the shop. He always usually let his customers look around. If they needed help and guidance, about which weapons were best suited for them. He was the one to come to and ask questions.

"Don't be so sure of yourself macho man" she stated, and had she not called him macho man, she would have sounded a little more serious, because everyones demons seemed to come back for them at some point in this city. She had came to this city with only one purpose; avenging her mother, and because she hadn't done so yet, Zeus found herself dealing with her mothers ghost, broad day light, in the middle of the night, it didn't matter what time it was for Zeus. And beyond that, she'd felt this ever growing dark presence enter the city.. it was a vengeful spirit she knew for sure, and it frightened the blonde headed tom boy who didn't scare easily.
"Fair enough" Zeus nodded, giving him a faint smile. He had definitely seemed like the type that made himself press on regardless of how hard things got. She admired him for that, because not many people were capable or so strong willed like him. Zeus grinned at the nickname he'd given her, and how it seemed to roll off his tongue perfectly. He wouldn't have been wrong in accusing her of a crush. She definitely had fallen for that viking charm. He had some old fashioned ways, that for a girl like Zeus, was a complete turn on. She couldn't help but gaze into his eyes, and held her gaze longer than intended. "I'm happy to know that though.. men doing things half assed usually makes them seem less manly" she teased, but for her that was true. She wanted a man who done everything the right way, and if it couldn't be done, then don't do it at all, because that was better than doing something half-assed in her opinion.
"How about giving me your number, and next time i'll just call you" she smirked in response, but she couldn't help but show a certain happiness to have heard him say there'd be a next time. Zeus had to pull herself together, considering he'd only been meant to be a teacher of some sorts to her, and build her weapons, she wasn't supposed to be feelihng like this, yet here she was, smiling, giggling and blushing, and absolutely captivated by that smile of his, and those eyes. She wanted to let it consume her, because it felt good, but sometimes something that felt that good, could only be bad for your health.
"Consider me excited. I'm ready when you are" she expressed with a faint smile. She knew it was time to behave for now, and push aside the flirting, she'd always have time for that during their sparring and hand to hand combat sessions. It made her heart pound though, to even consider the fact that he'd be getting psychical with her in some way or another here in the next few minutes. Whether it was hand to hand combat or not, that was enough to light a fire within her, that she definitely needed to extinguish. "I'll show you what i'm working with. I know plenty of advanced stuff, but it's been ages since ive even used the skills I posses.Sadly ive let things hinder me so badly that ive forgotten some of my abilities in hand to hand combat" she frowned, and gazed up at him through her long dark lashes.
Zeus rose a brow at him curiously, she couldn't help but to find herself wondering how wild he was back when he was younger "maybe after all is said and done with the training, we can go out for some fun" she offered, and it was safe to say that her offer had a double meaning. She chuckled, shrugging some when he said he didn't peg her for the loner type. "Not many people do, you're actually not the first person to say that.. Is it because of how bold and playful I come off?" she asked, wondering what made her seem like she wasn't a loner. She definitely was. "Don't get me wrong, there have been plenty of nights where i haven't went to bed alone, but a one night stand, is just as lonely as not having anyone at all. You always have to keep in mind that a one night stand, is just that.. they're meant to last for a night, and you never see most of them again.. so yeah, it's still a lonely life to live" she explained, before sniffling a little, and giving him a playful eye roll when he nudged her saying he wasn't that mean, she was thankful that he had made a light hearted joke during that moment.
"Im alright. Just sort of lost the one and only person I got close to in this city. Left without a word to me though, so I don't guess I ever had him to begin with" she shrugged, and slid her hands down into her back pockets, gazing up to the Valkyr, biting her lower lip. Zeus nodded, and gave a genuine smile when he thanked her for the offer she had made to help him "Truthfully it was just a way to be around you more, because i really don't know much about building weapons, but I could mahybe learn a thing or two from watching you" she stated, and smirked as he went silent to her sexual gesture about his hands. Her mind had went there the moment she'd seen this man, and she was sure she wouldn't be able to recover at this rate. He was gorgeous, hard working, smart and knew how to put a smile on her face. All of those things, plus the whole Viking thing, summed up Zeus's dream man. He was without a doubt, her type.
"Well, you should. I see that with the way you're smiling right now. I'm sure it's nothing but rewarding to see smiles on your customers faces. You really do a great job though.. you've been doing this for a long time huh?" she asked, but given the detail, time, effort, and heart that he put into it, she knew the answer already.
Zeus felt her heart drop into her feet when he basically asked her to come at him. "Oh you want me to attack you?" she asked, her eyes widened slightly, as she pondered what her first move should even be. Because while she knew what to do, she'd never been asked to attack someone like this, so it made her feel slightly awkward, but at the same time, her adrenaline had began to take over along with the music that played in the background.
After scanning Eirik over from head to toe a few times, the Nephilim looked down, realizing she had one advatnage she could use right away, which was her long legs, so she began with basic knee strikes. She'd never used these ebfore in an actual fight, so she wasn't even sure she did them effectively, but either way, she waltzed to him quickly, and placed her hands on the back of his neck; she of course wouldn't actually make contact with his body, because she wasn't setting out to hurt him, only to show him what she knew. With that, she proceeded by pulling down, as if to bring his head lower, so that when her knee flew up, it would make direct contact with his face, though she only lifted her knee enough to barely grace his face, and it probably felt more like her knee only brushing against him before she let go, and finishing with a side elbow strike, which she knew she'd execute a little poorly, because it'd been to long, and she had let herself fall into a bottomless pit of depression that had prevented her from keeping on top of her fighting techniques.
Zeus and her father had been called out specifically to the Nephilim faction for their fighting techniques, it's actually what they had offered to the ambassador in return for refugee, and for their help with the Initia being a threat to them. So, it was safe to say, there wouldn't be many moves that blonde Nephilim didn't know, it was just a matter of how she executed them, and needed some help in doing so. A man like Eirik would surely push her to her limits and bend her to her will, and that's what she wanted. She didn't need 'easy'. Zeus looked up to him, breathing slightly heavily, only because she was tense right now, wondering what he'd do to either block her attacks against him, or show her a better way to execute those moves. "Sorry, it's been a while. But, I'd typically start off that way if my attacker is facing me" she stated, knowing there would be different techniques, according to what position the other person was in, because had he been standing any other way, or just slightly different, that wouldn't have worked.
"Do you think we'll make any progress within the next few weeks?" she asked curiously, because while she wanted to clutch onto every little second she could get around this Viking, she was preparing for a war with the Initia, even if she went into it head first, alone. "So as a Valkyr, life must be hard sometimes. Do you not need to .. i don't know, feed or something before doing psychical activities like this one?" she asked curiously, with an arched brow. Zeus grinned at him, and tapped her chin, "I mean, i'm definitely not saying you're out of shape though." she breathed out, and took her shirt off, remaining in a sports bra, playfully tossing her shirt at him before sending a right hook towards him and grinning. She could sense that this Valkyr had a lot more to him than just being a Viking. It was like he had an entire world beneath those captivating eyes. And, Zeus wanted to be part of that world, the danger and all.
The Valkyr rose a slight eyebrow at her comment. “My demons were all mortal….and I am way too ancient, for them to haunt me now.” he replied teasingly. As long as none of his demons actually became Immortal/Supernatural...he didn’t think they’d be coming for him any time soon. He didn’t really think he needed/wanted to relive his past by his demons coming for him.
Her comment about men doing things half assed; wasn’t entirely expected. Mhh her perspective on the other gender was quite something. She was bold, she was fun; certainly seemed to keep him on his toes with her witt and comments. The Viking, could feel her gaze on him lingering. Eirik was aware; that he made head turns on a daily basis. He was something to look at for women in general.
“Are you always this bold, when it comes to getting someone’s number?” Eirik asked, with a slight chuckle. But her wide smile and excitement didn’t go unnoticed. The girl had to be careful, he thought to himself. Or she’d be falling for him; head over heels. And Eirik wasn’t entirely sure, he could give Zeus what she wanted; not long term commitment anyways. The Valkyr wasn’t one for long term commitments; that ended in marriage at least. He was more of a fling, short term relationships guy. Mainly, because no one caught his interest enough to change his ways.
“Eager students are always good...just save the energy for the actual training.” Eirik didn’t want Zeus wasting away all that energy she had on her excitement. As the Valkyr listened to her admit to forgetting some advanced combat stuff; he pursed his lips. “Mhh, I am sure it’ll come back to you sooner rather than later.” But knowing she was advanced; was good. There was still room for improvement and growth, in combat. But it was better than her starting from scratch and knowing zero.
“Be careful, little warrior...or people might get a different idea...when you use the word ‘fun.’ Eirik teased her, as her words seemed to have a double meaning. Yep, all the flirty comments. The girls gotta have a crush on him; he concluded. But the Valkyr slightly nodded. “It’s partially all the bold and flirty comments yes. But you’re also fun to be around...so definitely, like the girl that’d have plenty of friends...not a loner.” So her being a loner, was a bit of a surprise. There were times where the Valkyr prefered solitude himself; mainly if he had to focus. Otherwise, he was pretty lively with crowds. Listening to the Nephilim go on about one night stands; he rose a slight eyebrow. “Mhh, ever consider something longer? Like a fling?” That was the way the Viking rolled at least. “At least, they stick around longer than a night.”
His brows furrowed when she confined in him, losing someone she was close to in the city. “Well, it’s his loss for leaving the city and leaving you behind.” He didn’t really think, Zeus had that much too lose, if the guy was a jerk to leave like that. When she admitted to wanting to be around him more; it was confirmed even more. Eirik lightly chuckled. “Keep your head in the game and out of the gutter; I know you have a crush on me.” he teased, but gave her a more serious look. This was no time for gutter minded comments; not when she was training with him anyways. Eirik...neither she could afford such a distraction, if she wanted to improve on her skills.
Her question made him lightly chuckle. Oh, she was still young, compared to him after all. “I’ve been around weapons all my life. So yes, a long time indeed.” But the Valkyr never cared to share his true age; only a few people knew how old he really was. Others just tried to take a guess or two, based on the era he grew up around.
She seemed shocked, when he gestured for her to make the first move. Eirik just nodded in confirmation. “Yes, I do.” He waited and wondered, what Zeus would do. He was a male, tall like a mountain and strong; she was a female, petite yet a warrior. Odd combination; when it came to him asking her to attack first. But it was the process with every student; to see where they were lacking and how precise; their existing skills were.
The way Zeus waltzed towards him; he almost saw the move coming. Although her knee strike, with the elbow move was shaky. The Valkyr simple caught her tense, shaky arm; before it could make contact with him. Pulling her arm down and behind her; constricting her. As a counter attack. “You’re tense….and that was more so predictable.” The let her arm drop, so she could compose herself. As she explained, why she was so off. It was understandable. “First rule; avoid the predictable, as much as possible. It usually means, you think you’re safe from counter attacks...it makes you more vulnerable. If you’re predictable...they are usually unpredictable and catch you off guard easily. Rule two; use your most dominant arm...makes for better elbow attacks.” The Valkyr spoke, giving her a few pointers; that would help her achieve better. “As for the knees..having a strong, balance in your leg is key to executing that move, like so.” Eirik had a few punching bags in the room to demonstrate moves. Copying the moves Zeus used on the punching bag; with the correct precision and way. His knee making a loud jab against the punching bag; just as they connected...his dominant elbow flew up to finish off that attack. “Give it a try, few times.” Eirik gestured for her to try out the moves on the punching bag first; it was good practise before a person.
“I think so...some students make progress as little as few lessons; but it depends on their mind set and how fast they pick stuff up.” He explained. He rose a slight eyebrow as she questioned his feeding habits; looking slightly amused. “That is...a story for another time. Focus.” Eirik told her. As she tossed her t-shirt at him. The Valkyr was quick to react; by dodging her jab. And using his right leg, to hook behind hers; tripping her over as he brought her down to the soft mat on the floor. His weight towering over her...as he pinned her down to the mattress. “Not a bad right hook, just remember not to have it too loose...or you’d injure your hand.”
