Siobhan looked down to her bow with a slight frown as she ran her fingers along the crack that had finally split the wood saving her for a finally blow. Cornelia had told Siobhan she need to get a proper Nephilim weapon after noticing her bow. Siobhan didn’t want to part with the bio it was the last thing to remember her father well adoptive father. She had come to learn that both of her parents had kept the fact she was dropped on their door step as a baby to themselves.
It wasn’t until the night of her adoptive father and brothers murder when Siobhan activated her Nephilim side killing the monster that killed them with this very bow, had she learned the truth. That night she ran away from the home starting her new life in Evermore and as it had its downs, it had its ups as well. Siobhan hoped one day she would find her birth family and learn what it was like to be a Nephilim. That day had yet to come, but Siobhan had made a lot of connections in the Nephilim community, her closes tie being Clarissa Bradford. All of that was going to change though.
Siobhan looked down to the address that Cornelia had given her of the weapons master of the Evermore Nephilim Community. She looked up to the building it looked like any other building in the city to her. As she walked inside, she looked around learning that was not the case. She took in the weapons that hung around and let out a soft whistle as she carried her broken bow in one hand. She walked to the counter that sat there reaching her finger over to ring the bell that sat there.
As a man walked out to the counter she sat the bow there “Ah hi.” She said as she looked down form him to the bow “Cornelia gave me the name of a weapons master Joaquin telling me to come and get a new weapon a proper Nephilim weapon but…” she frowned softly looking to the Bow “I don’t wish to part with this one, I was wondering if there was any way it could get fixed?” the Nephilim looked up to him in that moment. “Please?”
The young Nephilim let out a soft sigh as she reached up tucking her hair behind her ear. Her eyes caught him staring at her and she raised her brow “Do I have something on my face?” she said as she raised her hand to whip at her face pulling her hair back again to reveal the faint birthmark behind her ear, one that matched Ezekiel in the same location. “Do I have a bug on me?” she swatted at her hair, bumping into a rack and watching it fall over. "Oh no! I'm so sorry!" she said as she turned around quickly swinging the arrows in her hand knocking over more things which caused the young Nephilim to turn read in embarrassment as she got to work trying to clean it up the mess she had made.

Siobhan felt like somehow she manage to make this encounter with the Nephilim ambassadors friend much more awkward then it needed to be. She felt like lately she couldn’t function around other Nephilims, its like they would catch on to how bad of a Nephilim she was. She was untrained, unfocused, and just finding her footing in the community. Truth be told she would rather be working on wood then fighting but Jon had said it was necessary that she trained with her weapon though she was sure he didn’t mean to the point of breaking it. Yet here she was with the cracked bow that she couldn’t part with. “It means a lot to me, its from the man who raised me.” she slightly winced at the statement. It was strange accepting the people who raised you weren’t your birth parents especially after so much time had passed.
“Well the bow was placed in my hands from a very young age.” she laughed slightly at the memory. “I can remember my dad being like ‘Here Siobhan you need to know how to protect yourself when myself and your brother are not around’” she gave a soft frown at the statement letting her thumb run along the cracked old hunting Leslie bow. “How right he was even before his passing.” she muttered under her breath before clearing her throat reaching down to help clean up the mess she was making finally setting the bow on the counter and the empty fletch that held the Arrows that where now all on the floor.
“Its the only weapon I was ever taught to use so that may be the reason I favor it so.” she said as she manage to collect her Arrows without cutting up herself or him. “I always wondered if I had known my Nephiliam family if they would have made me try out a bunch of weapons instead of being left with the Leslie’s.” Now she was just thinking out loud before her blue eyes focused back on the male Nephilim in front of him and gave him a soft smile and chuckled, “I seem familiar? How so?” she moved placing her Arrows back in the fletch and turned to give him her full attention as she tilted her to the side. “Well this is the first time I have been in your wonderful business, Trust me I would remember if I had been here before. I mean look at this place.” she waved her hand at all the weapons on the wall and gave a soft laugh. “Its like weapon master heaven in here.” She chuckled and then moved to tie her hair up in a ponytail as she did often. “I can see why I was sent here to see…”
That was when Siobhan let her eyes linger over the man for the first time really. Her eyes landed on the birthmark and she stared at it for a long moment before her fingers went to her own birthmark behind her ear. “Funny, we are have the same mark.” she looked him over age was tricky in the Nephilim world he didn’t look to be old enough to be her father, a sibling, maybe, or was it just a crazy coincidence they shared the odd shape feather like marking. “Are...are we related?” she managed to stutter out.
Siobhan gave the male across from her a soft smile as he talked about training from a young age. “My mother hated it, she would tell my father. ‘That isn’t proper for a girl to do.’” she laughed slightly at the sad memory as she thought on it before focusing her gaze to him. “Being raised by humans didn’t leave much room for nephilim training. I actually thought I was human most of my life until about a year ago when I awoken.” She said honestly as she looked to the bow for a long moment. She looked around the place for a moment and looked back to him and gave a slight chuckle. “To be honest I am not even sure I could wield another weapon without hurting myself or someone else.” She gave a slight shrug. “I am actually still going through a lot of training.”
“Yeah well my family wasn’t everything either if that helps at all.” she gave a soft smile as she messed with the ends of her hair softly. “Was weapons the family business?” she asked looking around for a moment “Cause if it was I am sure he would be very proud of you.” she smiled softly to him. As the pair stared at one another she couldn’t help the turn in her stomach as she looked to him. Siobhan found herself sitting on the floor staring at him with wide blue eyes as she didn’t know what to say as he spoke of how he had a sister and how the mark could mean they were related.
“I am not sure if my mother was human or not.” she said honestly as she ran her fingers through her hair. She stayed quiet for a moment before she looked up to him. “I don’t really have any family, and I can understand if you don’t want another sister in your life, after all I am a stranger but maybe we could figure out if we are related first before freaking out and being wrong?” She asked as she slowly stood back up. “Let us start over again.” She said as she held her hand out to him. “My name is Siobhan Leslie, and I am new to this nephilim life. Do you think maybe we can work on my bow and maybe figuring out we are family? If not I will walk out the door and leave you be.” Her blue eyes searching his for a moment. “I also know how to make some kick ass cookies. If that helps.”
Siobhan gave a slight laugh and sighed. “Don’t let my mother hear you say that it may blow a blood vessel in her brain.” she said even though she left her own mother behind some time ago after her awakening. “Wow you must be so skilled.” She said softly learning he had fought most of his life. “I am good with the bow but hand to hand let's just say I get owned often.” She sighed and shook her head. “No not many, I have met a few nephilims but everyone kinda seems too busy and I don’t want to be a bother.” she said. “I train sometimes with my boss. Jon.” She answer honestly. “You would be willing to teach me?” Her eyes light up at the thought of being taught even if she was older compared to the younger nephilims that where taught.
Siobhan had so many questions about their father, about Joaquin himself. After all they were siblings but knew almost nothing about each other. Though the question about how she conceived and why she didn’t grow up with her siblings made her wonder if the reason for her birth broke up another family. Though her answers seem to come as he spoke of when he was younger. She frowned softly at the thought her birth mom was a homewrecker. “I’m so sorry my mother tore your family apart. I wish I could say something more helpful but I don’t think I can.” She said softly as she looked down. “Your mother doesn’t approve of being with none nephilims?” She asked as she kept her gaze down for a moment. “I don’t want to cause issues with your mother and you.” She said not knowing she was no longer alive.
As she moved taking a step back feeling maybe she was only bring up bad memories for him. She paused when he asked her not to go. She let her blue green eyes look back to him. “I would like the chance to sit down and get to know each other. If we could but I don’t want to mess up your family for you either.” She expressed her concerns as her hand moved to rest on the broken bow in her hands. “It is a real pleasure to meet you Joaquin.” She said and then smiled and then chuckled. “You have things I can make cookies around here? Or do you know a place I could get the stuff to make them.” She said as she moved closer handing over the bow to him. Waiting to get to know her new found brother more than anything.
Siobhan had training here and there and while she loved any lessons she could get. After all the more training she had the less likely she was to be a burden on those who have accepted into their lives. Though she had a slight discomfort at the thought of dragging this man, her brother, into her crazy life. Yet he seemed to be use to training after all he was the head trainer. He could be one of the best people to learn from. She honestly was excited to have someone so skilled wanting to train her. She smiled as he stated she was part of the family and reached up tucking her hair back with a smile. “We are family.” She looked down in thought for a moment wondering if this was making Stephan upset wherever he was since he was no longer alive.
Yet it seemed that any family that had something to do with her or was related to her. Seemed to have their issues. Was it her? Was she the reason for so many broken families? Even though Joaquin told her not to worry about it. Her over thinking brain did even if she didn’t say anything outright about it. Asking about their mother she wanted to understand if she should walk away and let him return to the life he knew yet as he spoke of how it was just him and his sister she reached her hand out and patted his softly. “I’m sorry your family fell apart over things that we had no control over.” She knew she couldn’t blame herself for her own birth if she did then she wouldn’t stay sane. He seemed to be on the same page as he came around and took hold of her arm to stop her from leaving.
A talk couldn’t hurt if she was being honest. They did have the right to get and know one another. “I’m not sure if I can put it all back together after all I myself am rather broken but maybe we can all learn to cope with the past our parents handed us without our consent.” She said gently as she chuckled looking down for a moment as he called her the missing piece. It was nice to feel wanted by a family member. It had been so long since she had felt that way. “Alright then let us go talk over some baking things so we can break some bread so they say.” She moved outside of his shop with him waiting for him to lock up before walking with him around the block down to the small family owned shop on the corner.
As she entered the store with a soft ding of a bell she looked to her brother for a moment. “What is your favorite kind of baked goods?” She asked picking up a basket on her arm and started to move where the baking items were. “I make a mean peanut butter chocolate cookie.” She said with a chuckle as she picked out the basic things. “Also what about our sister? What does she like so maybe you can give her some later.”
