Winter was truly going out in style, the city had been succumbed to thick grey clouds on days upon end; with rain and cold weather to accompany it. Yet, there was light at the end of the tunnel, or so she hoped; the winter months had a way to make everything miserable, especially once the joyous events of Christmas and New Year had passed but Spring did seem to be round the corner. Clarissa often found herself laying in on mornings like this, she needed the sun to give her the energy to leave the comforting bliss of her duvet; yet, in the last few weeks, she had not particularly needed the sun - for she had her son, Cerberus the labrador puppy who tumbled into her room at any godforsaken hour. Today was no different, the puppy bounced up onto her bed now that he was big enough to do the movement alone and scrambled on top of her; licking her face all over until she was fully awake.

Clarissa groaned yet couldn’t stop the smile which appeared as she opened her eyes to look at the pup which had sat comfortably upon her stomach. “Hey boy” She scratched behind his ears which he happily nuzzled into her hand. Rissa could not have thanked Cerberus enough, he had been there and still is, when the grieve of her siblings overwhelmed her; he was her cuddle buddy on the sofa when she needed that little more support. Of course, Rissa knew she had other beings out there that would happily be there to support her through their deaths; but she was unsure how she could let herself go emotionally with them being there. Besides, she now had a whole Faction to look after, to see their leader appear weak would not be a wise idea if she wished to remain their leader.

Cerberus soon pressed his paws down upon her, trying to eagerly remove her from bed; Rissa knew this routine all too well - he was demanding breakfast as well as his morning walk. “It’s 8am, Russy.” She moaned and slowly pushed herself up which gave the puppy enough confirmation that what he whining for was about to head his way. The Nephilim placed food in his bowl and whilst he scoffed the food down she took that brief moment of peace to take a shower; the typical place where she would allow her tears to fall. Soon enough, the raven haired Nephilim was dressed and her war paint was on; it was time to face the outside world, a world filled with many people who still gave her a sorry look. Rissa placed Cerberus within his harness and allowed him to lead the way; she knew very well where he would be taking her - to the park which lead off into a large woodland, which in the heart of, had a playing field which had been long abandoned by the local school and sports teams.

“No pulling” She responded to Cerberus’s sharp, excited tugs to his lead as they turned off from the main pathway and into the muddy shrubs which would take them to the dirt track up to the field where she would eventually let him off his lead to run wild and play fetch.

“Woof! Woof! Woof!” The barks of an excited puppy filled the room of Hae-Ri’s hotel room. It was a good thing she had found a pet friendly hotel, and that it was only rare occasions that her puppy Leo made much noise. Leo knew that he had all of Hae-Ri’s attention today, and he was excited to spend the day with her. After she had her breakfast and fed the puppy, she got dressed to take him for a walk around the city. “Calm down now. I’m almost ready” she spoke with a slight laugh as she pulled out her red coat with the white fur collar. Pulling the coat over her flower print dress, she collected her cell phone before putting it into her bag. With her bag draped over her shoulder, she hooked the leash onto Leo’s harness, and headed out of the hotel room.

Leo seemed overly excited today, and was pulling at his lead every chance he got, but Hae-Ri had a good grasp on his lead. Hae-Ri smiled as she exited the hotel, and began walking along the sidewalk with her puppy. “We have to stop by the pet shop today as well, pick up some more treats for you” she spoke to Leo as they walked. She was sure people were looking at her as if she was crazy, talking to her dog like that, but that didn’t bother her one bit. As they walked along the sidewalk, Hae-Ri heard her phone pinging in her bag. When she pulled out her phone, the puppy yanked at his leash and caused her to drop her cell phone. “Leo!” she exclaimed as she looked at her phone on the sidewalk. As she reached down to pick up her phone, Leo yanked at his leash once again, this time he succeeded in pulling the leash out of her grasp.

“LEO!” she exclaimed scared as he ran out into traffic. She quickly ran after him, hoping and praying that he wouldn’t get hurt. “Stop Leo!” she called out after the little white puppy. Hae-Ri was terrified of what might happen to him if she didn’t catch up to him. “Somebody stop that puppy” she called out as they turned off the main road. For such a small puppy, he could surely run fast. The young Nephilim was having debates on whether or not she should use her wings to fly after him and catch him.

Even before Cerberus entered her life, Clarissa always found joy and a sense of peace when she offered to walk other people’s dogs. She was able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and walk into the forests on the outskirts of town; where there was nothing but the sounds of wildlife, the sounds of twigs snapping under her foot and the trickling sounds of a nearby river and stream. But now, now she had someone else to enjoy it with; Cerberus - his face would always light up on this walk, he would turn back to look up at her with his eyes gleaming and his tongue hanging out. Rissa was never one to think she could feel the sort of love she had for Cerberus, but here she was; everytime they looked at each other, she swore her heart was going to explode. Even on rainy days like this. She kept him within his harness for a little while longer until they were deep enough into the dirt track that he would not have to worry about cars.

The moment Rissa released the hound, he bounded off to find the stream; which didn’t surprise her in the slightest, even though she knew he would be overdue a bath when he got home. Being a perfectionist when it came to her home was not a good thing when she had a boisterous puppy. Rissa stuffed the lead into her coat pocket, and followed after him; although she had every faith that he would not go far without her - they were essentially joined at the hip the moment that Siobhan brought him home to her. Her eyes closed and she inhaled deeply at the damp but fresh air, it was a place where she could be herself and not have to put a front up for anyone; simply because not many dared to travel this far into the belly of the forest. The ghost stories of the abandoned building which was slowly coming into view helped with that matter.

Clarissa whistled. ‘Cerberus!” She exclaimed over her shoulder and threw the tennis ball across the length of the field; with her supernatural strength, the ball went far which made her son happy but also sleepy after a good while. Just as Cerberus was returning to her with the ball, she noted that he froze and his ears perked up; she slowly followed his very alert gaze to find a small white cloud hurdling it’s way over to him. “Play nice” She called out to him before glancing round to see if there was an owner around; her eyes narrowed as she could not see anyone, and because of that, she wandered over to the over excited puppies. Rissa crouched down as the white cloud sniffed at her hands; a smile creeping onto her lips. “And who are you?” She cooed, already sensing the jealousy in Cerberus’s gaze. “Where is your owner, hm?”

Hae-Ri just couldn’t figure out what had gotten Leo so excited. He had been excited plenty of times before, but not once has he ever pulled the leash clear from her grasp, so something had him acting up. As the small puppy cleared the busy streets of Evermore, saving him from a deadly fate of being squashed by a passing vehicle, Hae-Ri couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. She still had to catch the puppy of course, but a terrible weight lifted as he entered the park area, where there wasn’t as much danger. “Leo! Stop!” she exclaimed as she continued to run after the little white snowball that continued forward, only turning to adjust for the obstacles in his path. The young Nephilim had to stop for a moment and take a breather, she just couldn’t catch him on foot and that was quite the surprise to her. “How are you so fast today?” she questioned aloud as she panted to catch her breath. Realizing that there were no people around, Hae-Ri took the risk and let her wings spread freely, before heading upward to figure out where little Leo had gotten to. When she spotted him hurtling towards the woods near the park, a small smile formed on her lips. “Let’s see you outrun me now” she spoke to herself before she sped after him.

Maneuvering through the woods was a little more difficult than Hae-Ri had been anticipating, and she nearly clipped her wings about five times trying to catch up to Leo. When they finally came to a clearing, Hae-Ri knew this would be her chance to really speed up and catch him. However, her heart nearly jumped up her throat when she realized that there was someone else in the clearing, and her flying came to an abrupt halt. She landed on the ground, and hoped that the other person had been too busy to realize that she had been flying, though she had her doubts. As she came to a landing, she realized that the woman in the clearing was now with her Leo, and he seemed to have calmed down immensely from his earlier mood. Confused by his swift change in behavior, Hae-Ri headed towards the female and the two dogs that were beside her. She did her best to keep a cool level-headed look upon her face, but the truth was that she was super nervous. Her mother had told her many times to keep her abilities a secret from the outside world, and since the mysterious arrival of her wings; she was also told to never let anyone see her flying.

“There you are Leo” she spoke out with a tone of relief as she approached the female. She did her best to fight off the feelings of nervousness that was rising inside her, because there was no guarantee that the woman saw her anyways. “Thank you so much for catching him. He pulled the leash from my hand and started running. I just couldn’t catch him” she stated as she squatted beside her little fluffy marshmallow of a puppy. “Don’t ever do that again Leo. You nearly scared me to death today” she spoke out as she smoothed down his fluffy white fur. On one hand she wanted to discipline the dog for pulling the leash, running, and not stopping; but on the other hand she was just relieved to have him safe and sound once again. Shaking her head free from thought for a moment, she extended her hand out to the other female, “My name is Hae-Ri Hwang. It’s a pleasure to meet you” she spoke a little calmer than earlier, and had a smile on her face.

“Oh Cerberus” Clarissa exhaled in slight laughter as the young labrador began to whine as he sensed his owners attention and loving being projected elsewhere; she glanced up at him whilst continuing to scratch behind the cloud’s ears. “You know you’re my favourite.” She winked at the pup before glancing down at the other pup who was quite clearly enjoying the affection he got from her. “You’re too small to be wandering around on your own, someone like my pup or even bigger could have gobbled you all up” Rissa teased and lowered her head so it rested against the pups; before bringing the collar closer to her to see if the little thing had a name, or a number she could call. “Leo huh?” She glanced at the pup. “Nice name, like the lion I assume, to make up for what you don’t have in height?” The Nephilim laughed and felt Cerberus nuzzle beneath her arm.

Ever since the murder of her siblings, she had found great comfort in spending time with her furry little friends; and having a strange dog choose her to come up to, warmed her a little. Clarissa let herself fall and sit properly on the ground as she embraced the moment of having two puppies cuddling up to her; until of course, Cerberus found a bit of energy and decided to run circles around the two of them. Yet, her gaze soon lifted from her puppy doing zoomies to the angel wings which blocked the direct sunlight; she narrowed her eyes in thought for a moment - she hoped that there were no one else in the woods who would have seen her - after all, there are still many humans out there without an inkling of the Supernatural. Clarissa gently helped the little cloud from her lap and stood up, she dusted down her jeans from any mud or grass stains to meet the fellow Nephilim she had yet to encounter.

A slight smile toyed on Clarissa’s lips as she sensed the panic which washed over the other owner as she hooked Leo back up to his leash; Rissa whistling to bring Cerberus back to her heel. For a few month old puppy, he was learning well, and quickly. “No worries, if you hadn't shown up, I would have called the number on his collar. He’s a sweet little thing isn’t he” She complimented before following suit and extending her arm out. “You too, I’m Clarissa” she introduced herself before going on - first time ever meeting a new member, how do you do this? “I see you're a fellow Nephilim, I’m the Ambassador here in Evermore” She cleared her throat, feeling somewhat uneasy addressing it like that. “Very brave of you to let your wings out, especially so close to the residential streets” She commented, but not in a disapproving manner, she would have done the same thing.

With Leo safely back with her, Hae-Ri could feel herself already coming down from an adrenaline high filled with worry. Her body was no longer as tense as it was, and she could feel herself breathing a little easier. That relief felt wonderful, but at the same time she also had to worry about her little stunt with her wings, but it definitely wasn’t as bad as the worry she had for Leo when he escaped her grasp. “It’s a good thing he still had his collar on when he got away. Otherwise there wouldn’t have been a number” she replied with a slight laugh. Hae-Ri’s nervousness could probably be seen by any person that was in the area, mostly because she tends to feel slightly uncomfortable in confrontations when nervous. “He really is sweet, and this is probably the most energetic this little guy has ever been since I got him. I’m not really sure what had gotten into him today. I’m just glad that he’s safe now” she said with a bright smile as she looked down at her puppy, who was now sniffing at the bigger dog.

When the female introduced herself as Clarissa, a smile appeared on her face, before an expression of shock took control. Hearing her say that Hae-Ri was a fellow Nephilim caught the young brunette by surprise. She hadn’t really taken a chance to look at the other female too much, but after hearing that she looked a little closer and saw the purple tint of the Nephilim eyes. “You’re the ambassador?” she questioned curiously. “Is that like the leader of Nephilim?” she continued to question. Hae-Ri was familiar with the term ambassador, but she had never heard of it in regards to a supernatural species. If this female really was the leader of the Nephilim, then maybe she could provide the answers Hae-Ri sought about her wings. After all, she had not killed anyone to obtain them, so why did she have them now? Only time, and asking the right person, would get her the answers now.

“Brave or stupid?” she commented with a laugh. “I broke the rule my mother told me about not revealing myself to others in doing so, but I mean, Leo was more important to me so I had to risk it” she said in a soft tone as she looked down at Leo once more, who was now looking up at her. “I’m just relieved that it was another Nephilim that saw me and nobody else. That would have been much more difficult to explain” she continued before running a hand through her hair. Bringing her attention back to the puppies, Hae-Ri looked at the bigger dog. “So who’s this big guy?” she questioned with a smile as she held her hand out for the dog to smell her. She knew better than to just assume that an animal will let you pet them right away. She had gotten bitten once before because of that, and never made that mistake again. After a little bit, she was petting the bigger puppy with a smile on her face. “He’s a gentle giant isn’t he Leo?” she said with a smile as she looked at Leo who was bouncing around again, probably trying to get her attention.

What an endearing sight to see; and it made her feel rather sentimental - Clarissa couldn’t ignore the warm sensation which filled her chest as she watched the relief from both, the woman and the dog once they were reunited. The past few months have truly taken an emotional impact on the Nephilim - something like this shouldn’t make her want to tear up. She shook her head and pushed down any and all of the warm fuzzy feeling which filled her chest right into her stomach; she could deal with her emotional baggage once she was home and sure that Jem was nowhere to be seen. A slight laugh escaped her as she nodded. “I would have found a way to reunite him with his owner” She reassured, and she was sure that many of those living in Evermore would do the same. “He probably smelt Cerberus here, and just needed to say hello” She spoke lightheartedly as she glanced down at her own pup who was panting with his tongue out.

It was surprising to see the shock when Clarissa introduced herself as the Nephilim Ambassador in Evermore; perhaps the girl before her hadn’t lived in the city long at all and wasn’t sure how it was governed? “Pretty much, yeah” Rissa scratched the back of her neck; it was a role she didn’t think she ever wanted or particularly needed. She was a leader at heart, but in reality, she also liked to do things in a way that was not conventional to the running of Evermore. “I stepped into this role a few months ago now, still learning the ropes you could say” She nodded; she had watched over Ambassadors silently in their meetings and took mental notes on how she could behave. Yet the reality was, she wanted to mould The Nephilim faction to be on her own; she wanted it to stand out and thrive. “But it is, kind of  a welcome distraction at times.” Which was the truth, if she had the option to do nothing but wallow in her own self pity, she bloody well would.

Rissa shrugged. “Some rules are there to be broken. I couldn’t tell you how many times I used to release my wings in public or near public spaces” The Nephilim recalled with a heavy heart, there still had been no sighting or inkling of her wings growing back. “Guess you’re also lucky that the sun has barely reached the top of the trees, a lot of this town is probably just going to bed.” She mused, although there were many humans that populated the streets, many of the Supernaturals certainly favoured the nocturnal lifestyle. “This is Cerberus, my little hellhound” Rissa grinned and nodded to her pup who looked unsure of the hand that came to him. “He looks and has a name which sounds menacing but in reality, he’s a goofball.” A gentle smile came to her face as Cerberus accepted the love the other woman gave and almost out of spite, looked over to Clarissa with a smug smile; almost as payback for her showing Leo love earlier. “Don’t suppose you fancy a coffee? My sleep pattern is fucked and well, I have more coffee in my veins than blood these days.”
