The Valkyr had left the compound after a hard day of training with some of the younger ones. It was tiring; especially when they were testing his every patience. Thinking they knew better? That always got on his nerves; when he was trying to teach them, how to be the best. Eirik wanted to make sure, that they would be safe, well trained, ready for anything. That’s why Gideon had given him the position of lead trainer, as it was. He wouldn’t be doing his job well, if he didn’t train them. But it didn’t exactly come easy, when they were trying to defy his orders and tips. Stubborn people. He thought to himself. Sometimes, he wasn’t sure how he dealt with it, as they could push his temper through the roof. But Eirik always held his tongue, unless it was needed for him to speak his mind.
Needing some fresh air and a cool down. Eirik headed into the woods, nearby. Lately, it seemed to be one of his places head to, if he needed a cool off. Rather than heading to a bar. Otherwise, he’d try and drink a few bother-some thoughts away.
Taking a deep breath, of the fresh air. Eirik felt the cool breeze, tickling against his skin. Cooling him down, soon enough. Enjoying the autumn air. It wasn’t long, before something caught his attention. It sounded like someone was yelling...or struggling. Was someone getting attacked? “Now, what?” The Valkyr murmured to himself. With a speedy motion,he followed where the sounds were coming from. When he got to the scene, he saw a few men surrounding a young woman, letting out a slight warning growl. “What is going on here, fellas?” Eirik questioned, in a rather intimidating tone of voice. His tall stature, towering over the mysterious assailants. With him standing at 6’3”, Eirik was taller than anyone else around at present moment.
“Stay out of this!” One of the men hissed, not paying him attention.
Eirik furrowed his brows. “Now, that didn’t answer my question!” seeing one of them was moving in for an attack. The older Valkyr acted fast...grabbing the man’s wrist; and with one swift movement, tossed the supernatural attacker away from the young female with ease. “And it’s not nice to attack young females! What do you want with the girl?!” he questioned. His tone spoke volumes. No room for discussions and running, when dealing with Eirik.
One of the attackers hit the tree; before landing on the ground with a loud grunt. Looking up, he hissed at the Valkyr. “Does little missy here have a body-guard?” he sneered. Whilst the other one tried to sneak up on Eirik, but the Valkyr was much quicker and grabbed the man by his throat, lifting him from the ground with ease...the male’s legs dangling, kicking air...as he tried to free himself from the Viking’s grip.
“We can do this, the easy way...or the hard way! Your choice!” Eirik spoke, looking between both males.

Autumn is quite proud to say that she’s finally settled into a life here in the city. With the tribe working to help support her and the benefit of gaining a few friends along the way, she’s started carving out a place for herself. It’s something she never thought she’d be able to do, but as she begins the walk back to the mountain with her bundle of leftover baked goods from the day she’s truly happy about things. Her chosen path for the day takes her steps through the Therian territory, the walk through the woods a peaceful way to end her day since there’s generally no one around and as such no one to see her navigating the colder days with no coat.
She nearly giggles when she sees her breath puff out in front of her in a bit of frost, holding her bundle of bread closer to her chest as her feet crunch through the freshly fallen leaves. Perhaps her distraction is why she doesn’t hear them. Or perhaps she’s simply gotten too comfortable and didn’t realize they would be a threat. When the first man comes out of the woods she doesn’t think too much of it, just smiles and goes to walk past him. But he doesn’t let her through, instead closing in on her with a frown. “Well now, you’re not where you’re supposed to be, are you fire chicken?”
The slur immediately brings her to a halt and she looks at him with a touch of confusion, her apology for nearly bumping into him dying on her lips. “I… pardon?” About now is when the others start to make their way out from the trees and begin to surround her and it’s then that she realizes what’s going on. These guys aren’t Therians at all, they’re Initia. “You know exactly what we mean. Your kind isn’t welcome here.” She’s never experienced this herself, only ever heard the stories of the way Initia and Phoenix would treat each other and she’s not a fighter. Her tribe wants nothing more than to try and garner a healthy relationship with the others in the city, to prove that they can coexist peacefully with the Initia. “I’m not a Phoenix!” Anymore. That had all changed the night she drowned, ice water seizing her lungs. “You may not use fire anymore, but you’re still just a monster.”
The men don’t seem to care and she has nowhere to go as they start to close in on her, several brandishing golden bladed weapons as though they truly thought she was still a fire master. The sudden new voice distracts all of them and Autumn turns towards the newcomer, eyes wide and breath coming a little shallow. She doesn’t recognize him, though at first she thought it might have been someone she knew. Things move fast from there, the man intervening on her behalf and quickly tossing two of the angry Initia away from her. “They’re Initia!” Her warning comes a bit too late though, as one of the others is already using his elements to launch a blast of fire at the Valkyr. Thankfully Autumn is able to intercept, ice springing into existence as the markings around her wrist glow blue and while it melts the ice the fire never reaches him. She’s suddenly very thankful for the training she’s gotten.
“Stay out of this! That girl is a freak! A monster!” For all that she tries to hide it, that actually does hurt. She’s lived her entire life in fear of her abilities, always scared that she’d hurt someone even if accidentally. Some just don’t seem to want to give her the chance to prove she’s not some murderer.
The Valkyr saw a flash of red, aimed right at him. Before he even had a chance to react and move himself out of the way, the young female intercepted and the fire was extinguished before his very own eyes. Feeling the icy chill, from her powers. Glancing at the young child-like woman, he gave her a nod of thanks for saving his life, from that fire blast. His eyebrows creased, hearing what one of the Initia had said. Calling the young female a freak, a monster. Now that was unkind.
Still keeping a tight grip on the male, Eirik was refusing to let go of the squirming and kicking Initia. At least, he knew one of them wouldn’t go anywhere. “I am not going to let you, hurt an innocent girl!” Eirik hissed at the Initia. If they wanted a monster, then they hadn’t seen him in action and entirely pissed off. The Valkyr was capable of being a monster on the battle-field. Welcome his many years of Viking training.
“She’s not innocent! She’s a killer!” The one in his grip was struggling, trying to claw at Eirik’s strong arms, prying to get away from his deadly grip. But to no avail.
Eirik of course didn’t listen to them. “And what would that make you, if you hurt her huh?” The Valkyr questioned, hissing down at the Initia. “Sure as hell, wouldn’t make any of you saints, but murderers yourself for killing her. Now you either let her be and be on with your pathetic little lives...that’s if you have any sense in you. Or I can kick all of your asses and make you regret running into me.” Yep, that was their choice. Like he had said earlier. It was the easy way, or the hard way. So far, it seemed like they were opting for the much harder way. Which would most likely end up with someone being dead, if they kept testing his temper. Or severely hurt enough, that they;d need medical attention or die on the spot, if they didn’t get help. And frankly, Eirik was much more okay with that. He dealt with plenty of hunters and foes, that tried to hurt innocent people. But if they were smart, and valued their lives...then he’d spare them...maybe, just maybe.
Seeing a chance, one used the element of air to knock Eirik back, with a gust of wind. Dropping the Intia rather roughly. Eirik managed to flip mid air...landing on his two feet, with a growl. “Looks like, you all pick the hard way.” Pulling out his weapons from his belt. Almost daring them to come at him, with any weapons that they had on them. The Valkyr’s eyes looked a bit darker, the blackness of his shadow magic making his eyes look entirely black and almost demonic like. As one Initia sprung at him. A shadow grabbed at the Initia from behind, the shadow tendrils that Eirik was controlling, tossed the Initia away from the young blonde and himself. Knocking the wind out of them, dodging attacks as the other came to attack him again. Blocking with his blades, whilst the other drew blood with a harsh slice across the Initia’s shoulder blade. Thanks to the Shadows of the forest around them. The Valkyr moved quicker, his senses on alert and could manipulate the shadows to his advantage.
Despite the discomfort on her face, Autumn holds herself steady. This is probably her second worst nightmare, right behind drowning again which is a very irrational fear at this point since she can’t drown anymore. Either way, she’s facing down people who hate her simply for existing and there’s no doubt in her mind that had this Valkyr not shown up these men probably would’ve left her for dead out here. She wants nothing more than to freeze up but she knows neither of them can afford for her to and she’s not about to let this man do everything for her when he has no obligation to her at all.
Still she can’t help but feel that those Initia picked a fight with the wrong man today, at least judging from his words and the look on his face. “I am not a killer! I’ve never hurt anyone!” She can’t quite help the small cry of protest that leaves her at the Initia’s words despite knowing that it would mean nothing to any of them. It’s true though, she’s never hurt even so much as a mouse! Let alone a whole person. Still, seeing the tight grip the Valkyr has on the Initia is comforting to say the least, knowing that at least someone here will stick up for her.
This man reminds her quite strongly of Dominic now that she’s letting herself listen to them, though she’s astutely keeping herself behind his far larger form. Though something tells her Dominic probably wouldn’t be threatening to kill the attackers, it’s still a very familiar demeanor to the blonde. Seems like all her life she’s been surrounded by people like this Valkyr, who would happily stick up for someone else. It’s something she should be more grateful for. As the men stare each other down, Autumn peeks out from behind the large man hoping to get a handle on the situation. If she can manage to get these guys to back off without hurting any of them it’ll be a personal win but with the way things are going it doesn’t look like that’s going to be an option. Tensions are just too high on the Initia’s side and they’re pissed off that they got interrupted.
She gasps a little at the sudden attack, though she can’t say it was unexpected. She is at least grateful to see that it didn’t take the man off guard too much and he lands perfectly fine, immediately jumping in to fight the men. Autumn immediately backs off as the fighting starts up, watching as the men leap at each other but it’s apparent from the start that the Valkyr has more experience and power at his call. These Initia must be young, not that she can talk. Catching sight of one of the Initia approaching her while the Valkyr is distracted she throws her hands out, markings glowing blue once again as ice streaks across the ground and immediately freezes the Initia in place up to his knees. She allows the ice to continue, snaring another one in the same trap. This won’t stop them from throwing around elemental attacks but it will give the Valkyr a major advantage in the fight. “Be careful!” Perhaps it’s redundant, no one is ever not careful in a fight right? But still, she’s no fighter so support is about the best she can provide right now.
