It'd already been a long day, and Svet knew her shift was really only just beginning as the club began to crowd. Sighing she brushed through a crowd of drunk females, whipping her head around as one of them shoved her and told her to watch where she was going. As the purple tinge in her eyes glowed a more vibrant purple than normal, Svet smirked before wrapping her dainty hand around the girls throat, cutting off her airway. "This is my club, I'll walk where I want to. Next time i'll walk through you"

Sometimes Lana was the last person on earth to think before she acted or spoke, but when she was pushed; she didn't quite care. To relax a little, Lana pushed the door of her office open and sat down at the desk, burying her face in the palm of her hands as her elbows rested on the desk. Inhaling, she glanced over to the framed picture sitting on her desk, smiling. Some days she was able to cope better than others, feeling as though her father was still with her in a lot of ways, but she'd never forget the torture she endured for years in her teenage life.

From blades slicing into her, to water boarding, to them being able to manipulatire fire in imaginative ways to make Svet feel like she was swallowing it, the Nephilim's mentality truly had fallen through the cracks long ago, and her mental health was that of a person who belonged in a straight jacket.Snapping out of thought, Svet's ears began ringing, the shot was so loud it pierced through her ears as if it had happened right beside of her.  Svet heard screams coming from within the club, her heart beat became rapid as she opened the office door, peering around the corner, clearly seeing the male who'd shot another.

With her eyes glowing purple, Lana used her abilities to inflict pain on the shooter which caused him to drop the gun, continuing to inflict pain until she was able to rush over to him, she grabbed the gun from the floor, aiming at him. "Don't fucking move" she said loudly with a sinister gaze in her ice blue optics. "Would there happen to be a medic in here? nurse? doctor??!?" she yelled out, after realizing the male who'd gotten shot was actually one of her bartenders.  Lying on the floor, he began fading quickly. Falling to her knees, she tore part of her shirt off and placed it on the bullet hole applying pressure, but oblivious as to whether she was making it worse by doing what she was doing or not.

Svetlana's breathing became heavy as the Jared  below her's breathing became faint. "Damn it, stay with me Jared you're not dying; not tonight" she in a panicked tone, As Jared laid  on the ground  he reach up and placed his palm against her face smiling. "It's okay.." he spoke softly and weakly. "Someone call 911 or everyone get the fuck out!!" Lana then gazed around, screaming at everyone; most people had scurried out of the club but those remaining stood there in shock, doing absolutely nothing but staring. With tears rolling down her cheeks,  her vision clouded but she'd seen a male approaching the scene, she could only hope that he would be able to help. Looking back to Jared who'd been shot in the stomach, Svetlana returned the smile he'd given her just a moment ago. "I know it hurts, but stay awake; don't you dare close your eyes"

Svetlana had became quite close to JAred, and he'd been the only exception after her fathers brutal death. "Please don't leave me..." she choked out due to crying so hard.

The shift was beginning to draw to a close for Davis, his co-EMT and the driver. The night shift was very without it’s struggles and interesting calls but tonight had been rather calm as they headed back to the hospital. As one final call came in the driver talking to dispatch before informing the EMTs of the situation they were about to head into. There was a shooting at a club and they didn’t know how many had been shot just that shots were fired. The other EMT wasn’t thrilled with the positional of going into the line or fired but Davis was well aware it was part of his job. “I’ll get any victims stabilized and then get on the com for you.” He offered the other EMT quickly accepting the offer not being very sympathetic to the idea of putting him into the line of fire.

Davis had a way of defusing or intensify a situation but he was careful with which one he picked depending on what was happening. After being a medic in times of war he understood that no everyone who did bad things was a bad person but you had to find away to help those you were there for no matter what. The ambulance silently pulled up to the club as people were still continuing to spill out. The police weren’t on the scene yet and even though Davis knew they were supposed to wait to be cleared for entrance he knew that depending on gunshot wounds they may not have the time. “My radio is on,” He said motioning to the radio handset that was attached to his waist. “When it’s clear and if I need assistance I’ll let you know. Watch your backs.” He spoke to both the other EMT and the driver both nodding as he grabbed his medical go bag and opened the back doors of the ambulance.

Closing the back hatch behind him he headed into the building as those who had once been inside cowered and tried to find cover afraid of what might be to come. Davis was calm and precise in his movements checking around each corner as he slowly made his way into the building since he wasn’t about to get ambushed. Reaching the main club he glanced inside to see a woman trying to apply pressure to a bleeding male and another male double over in pain holding his head. Moving briskly inside he checked the downed male first who showed no signs of physical wounds before moving to the male who was bleeding.

“The pressure isn’t helping, I know you’re trying to help and I promise I’m here for the same thing.” He said trying to gain the woman’s trust as he checked the pulse of the male who was quickly fading which was no surprise after the amount of blood he had lost. “I promise I’m going to help him but you have to let me, alright?” He asked as he pressed his hands against the bleeding wound. It was clear that he needed a surgeon or he was going to bleed out and despite Davis’ training he couldn’t do the kind of practice that was currently needed in the field.

The man was bleeding internally and if Davis did nothing he would die, if he used the medical knowledge he had the man would likely still die which left only one other option. Internally cursing he hoped the woman who had been applying pressure wasn’t watching too closely since he wasn’t supposed to do this, one it could drain him and two it gave proof to what he was. Despite the risks he focused on the man bleeding out before him and focused only on healing him instead of anything else.

Svet eyed the man who'd came in with a bag full of supplies, the bag had been the only thing to confirm she could trust his intentions. As he finally reach them, and spoke out, Svet immediately dropped her blood stained hands from the wound, tearing her eyes from the wounded and glanced to the shooter. Taking her sleeve, Svet wiped tears from her cheeks nodding as he said he was there to help, but she had to let him do so. With that statement alone, he'd gained Svetlana's trust.

Svetlana watched as the medic pressed against the wound, Still holding Jared's head in her lap, a faint squeeze was given from his hand to hers, letting her know he was still there, but barely, if she hadn't been looking down when he squeezed her hand, she probably wouldn't have known he did so. With that, the lump in her throat only grew more painful to swallow. But, having someone trained for situations like this at the scene now, put her in some-what a comfort zone.

What she truly couldn't muster is why Jared was mingling on the clock, before this had happened Svetlana had made a joke with him, that women would be the death of him, had he found one attractive enough, Jared would steal a dance or two with them even on the clock, and she was sure that's exactly what had happened, unless he was trying to be heroic and defuse a situation that had obviously esculated to him nearly losing his life. Svet still bared in mind that even with a medic there the possiblity of him dying was bigger than the one of him living.

Svetlana had been lost deep in thought, a million and one thoughts racing through her head as she had suddenly seen the medic's eye color change, with that it caused a chain reaction and her senses felt a blaze, causing her normal icy blue hues to shift to their bright purple ones. Jared had never known nothing of Svet's supernatural status which is why she hadn't tried healing him herself, plus the small fact that she'd been to distraught and in shock to even think to do so. This very moment had only confirmed, Svetlana's abilities slipped her grasp when she needed them most, and it made her feel useless to her own kind. Shrugging that thought away and gazing from the medic to Jared before gazing around them, to make sure mundane eyes weren't watching, Svet had a pretty good idea of what was going on.

"Jared stay with me.." she spoke softly, the grip of his hand became stronger than the last one, and to avoid the medic slipping out of whatever comfort zone he may have been in, Svet would make sure not to comment on what he was doing, plus, she didn't want to interrupt his focus. "Is it working...?" she then finally decided to ask, as Jared's grip became a little stronger each time he'd squeeze her hand. Lana kept her tone only audiable to Davis's ears, only now realizing what his name was from the key card hanging from the necklace he wore. After the cops ushered the shooter into a car, Svet left the medic to deal with Jared, this was the one part she hated was having to file a report things had been sailing to smoothly lately for Sinister Sounds that she didn't think she'd be doing this anytime soon. She knew the medic didn't need the distraction of the cops around him, and managed to keep them away from he and JAred until they left.

Leaning agains one of the floor to ceiling windows , Svetlana waited on Davis to come get her, he'd either come with bad news or a miracle and given what she assumed was going on before she had walked away with the cops, it'd be a miracle. Every so often she'd gaze to the scene with a faint smile adorning her features, it was only the last time she gazed that she sensed a sudden shift with the medic, that whatever he was doing was causing him to grow weak.

Davis had a lot of medical tricks up his sleeve since in the army you had to often use what you had not always having access to everything that you needed. That and often times you were being shot at or things were exploding so he was used to seemingly hopeless situations, the woman who was trying to help her friend didn’t seem the same. Not that Davis could blame her since most people didn’t have to deal with or ever see the things he had so far in life. Even though he had faith in his abilities, he knew that you couldn’t save everyone but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try. Every life had value no matter the species and it seemed this guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“I’m Davis by the way, the only one crazy enough to come in before the shooter was known to disarmed.” Not that he could necessarily blame his partner, the other man was human and had a family so going into the line of fire was not what the other EMT wanted to do on purpose. The blood was still seeping through his gloved fingers as he forced on trying to at least heal a portion of the organs which had been hit. The Bullet was still in the wound which made it difficult as well but his eyes turned silver as he carefully focused on removing the bullet on the same path it had followed in as not to nick or harm anything else. The bullet was in his hand and he dropped the blood coated metal to the floor before pressing his hand back against the wound.

Davis could feel himself beginning to slip, how own powers beginning to wane since it was a serious injury and one Initia only had so much power. There was no way to heal the whole thing and even if he wanted to he wouldn’t since that would reveal himself. “You’re name’s Jared right? I don’t know if you were trying to be a hero or not but I don’t normally suggest jumping in the path of bullets.” His tone was light and joking as he did his best to keep the man with him since if he past out they could very well loss him. He had no idea who the woman who had been applying pressure was but it was clear she care about the bleeding man he was trying to help.

Pressing a bloody hand to his radio he called for the other EMT to come in because they needed a stretcher and to get fluids into Jared since he had already lost a lot of blood. “Jared, hey Jared, I need you to keep your eyes open. Listen to your friend’s voice and hold onto that.” As the woman asked if it was working he knew she was aware of what he was doing and he could see the shift in her eye color, the amethyst hue belonging to Nephilims. “It’ll stabilize him but he needs to get to a hospital.” He needed blood and surgery. Thankfully now applying pressure actually would help. One of the cops pulled the woman away for a statement as his partner made it on the scene and helped him to get Jared stabilized as they moved the stretched to get Jared into the ambulance and get the IV hooked up.

Being the first responder on the scene the cops told his partner and driver to head to the hospital but Davis had to stay behind for questioning. Heading back into building one of the officers tried to start asking his questions. “Let me notify his friends on status and then I’ll answer whatever questions you have.” The officer allowed him to head towards the brunette. “You’re friend should be alright. As long as he gets to the hospital soon he has a pretty good chance of making it.” He pulled the bloody gloves off and wiped the sweat from his forehead from the sheer effort of trying to keep the man alive. Davis was weaker than he would like to admit and in need of one hell of a good night sleep. “Even though the pressure you were applying couldn’t stop the internally bleeding, you’re quick acting may have saved his life.”

Svet's nerves were simply shattered right now, and he only hope she had to cling to was the very same hope Davis had on saving her friends life. If Jared vanished from her life like her father and the rest of her family, Svet would be back to having no one, and recalling that lifestyle; She knew how lonely and miserable she'd been without friends after the Vampire/Therian/Phoenix organzation captured and held her in captivity for years before burning her father to a crisp, leaving her with no one and that's when Jared and Evan had came into the picture.

Svet snapped out of those horrific thoughts as he spoke, his voice was the only thing soothing in the atmosphere right now. Somehow, in the midst of everything going on; Svetlana was able to smile at his comment "I saw it more as a heroic thing, but I guess it was a bit crazy to dive into the unknown, given the situation" she responded, her voice raspy where she'd screamed so loud when she seen who was actually lying on the ground. "It's nice to meet you though, Davis and I appreciate you coming in. No one else would have without seeing police cars here first, which is understandable. I'm Svetlana" she added, formally introducing herself, but decided on not extending her hand for a handshake since she had Jared's blood on her still.

As Svet looked back down to Jared who only seemed to be hanging on by a thread, her eyes widened. Either she was losing her mind, or Davis had just used some kind of gravity ability to remove the bullet, and had done so flawlessly. His eyes matched the shade of metal, and she had then began putting the peices together, it wasn't hard to understand what he was after what she'd just seen, and he had risked exposing himself in attempt to saving Svet's friend. Svet's eyes welled up in tears again, noticing that now Davis too was slipping; there was no way to completely heal Jared without one of them exposing themselves which is why she hadn't tried healing Jared herself, the most she could do was kneel beside of the two men, let Davis do his job and Svet do hers and with that her eyes lit up to a vivid purple; using the gift of Clairsentience to mentally relieve him of the pain he was probably feeling.

Deciding she'd avoid eye contact with Davis now, Svet only focused on Jared. Both now exposed to what they truly were and it had made Lana feel vulnerable somehow. Especially since Jared had known her this long, but never knew what she was, the only thing she had  going in her favor was the fact that he did know of supernaturals in the city. Jared managed to keep his eyes open with the sound of Davis's voice, and the joking tone he attempted at having to lighten the atmosphere and to also keep Jared with them. Svet swallowed harshly again as Jared began to fade again, and Davis's voice rang out, being the only thing that kept Jared alive, or so she felt. "I'm right here Jared, don't you dare close your eyes again" she said in a firm tone, but clearly she was weak and heartbroken right now. She didn't even try to hide that fact.

As Davis then spoke to Svet and told her it would stabalize him but he'd still need to go to the hospital for surgery and blood transfusion. Svet couldn't focus on the officers questions let alone answer them  as she could only watch Jared be wheeled away on the stretcher and loaded up into the ambulance, she knew he had no family and she knew he was probably afraid; if it hadn't been for her co-owning this club and having to stay behind she would have went with him, after she finished answering questions, she was able to run out and had luckily caught Jared just before they loaded him up. "Jared, ill be there when I can. You're going to be fine, I love you" she stated and walked away, wiping tears from her cheeks once more. As Svet stood at the bar fixing herself a much needed drink, before fixing a second one in case Davis wanted/needed one himself; she waited patiently on his return with whatever news he had for her.

As Davis walked towards the bar, Svet noticed what kind of toll using his abilities caused him. "Here im sure you could use this" she stated as she handed him the drink she'd made for him before leading him to the back where her office was, where she normally sat while being in the club instead of mingling with the drunk people or engaging in dancing. As he then told Svet that Jared would be alright as long as he got to the hospital soon, she couldn't help but set her drink on the wooden desk before wrapping her arms around the medic's neck, hugging him tightly, and letting it all sink in for a moment or two before giving his personal space back to him. Standing in front of him, Lana smiled "I dont know how I can ever repay you for what you just did for him, but I am very grateful Davis. I can see what a toll that took on your psychical being though, sit down for a few if you need to" she then said, taking a seat on the leather sofa herself.

To the last thing Svet heard Davis say, that her quick acting may have been what saved his life, she smiled, tears of happiness adorning her features. "I just can't afford to lose anyone else that I love, after I lost my father, Jared was there for me and for a long time he's the only person I had lowered my guard too, afraid of everyone that I meet, but he was the exception back then... Ive finally realized that I don't need to fear literally every one who I come across though. And you said my quick acting saved his life, maybe so... but I think together, we saved his life... I wouldn't have been able to do what you had done ... and no one else would have came through those doors the way you did" she stated in a thankful tone before tipping her glass up to her lips knocking back the entire contents before pulling a bottle from the mini fridge that sat on a table beside of the sofa. "I guess this is kind of like my own little sanctuary in here, this office sees me more than the people who work here do" she chuckled before smirking at him and shaking her head. "What a night huh?"

A lot of EMTs just did their job and didn’t talk concentrating on the patient and job at hand. Davis liked to give those he was working on something to hold on to, he knew that there were times when all anyone could hold to was hope and being silent didn’t give them much to cling to. Even if it did happen to be their final moments at least they had something to think on and he thought that was kind of a nice thought. “Well we were playing rock, paper, scissors in the ambulance to see who had to go in and obviously I need to brush up on those skills.” He joked trying to keep it light as Jared clung to what little life he had left, it was slowly beginning to return but it was still questionable if he was going to live, Davis hoped so but after he exhausted himself modern medicine was the only thing left to turn to. “The job of an EMT is to be a first responder, to go into the situations no one else in their right mind would. Beside it wouldn’t have been the first time I’ve been shot at or shot, this had been a far less dangerous situation than many in my past.” After he said that he realized exactly how it sounded, “I was a field medic in the Army, not like a drug dealer or anything.” There wasn’t a lot of time for proper introductions given his focus on saving Jared’s life.

There was an odd expression on Svetlana’s face as she watched him closely and he knew she observed the bullet coming out when it should have taken a different sort of skill to dig out the bullet but he didn’t have that sort of time. She thankfully didn’t question him or what he was doing even though in retrospect that might not be a good idea. Trusting supernaturals wasn’t necessarily the best thing to do especially when you didn’t know them but Davis was wearing a pretty convincing uniform and he lived by the words, do no harm. It seemed that she was doing something to help him as well but Davis wasn’t necessarily sure what that was.

Placing Jared in the ambulance he knew that was the best thing for the man. It seemed that Svetlana was able to slid away from the officers who were trying to get a statement from her. It seemed that she was distracted which was normal given the situation and circumstances, Jared was hanging on to the sound of his voice and what little life he and Svetlana had afforded Jared. The Initia listened as the Nephilim told her friend he would be fine and that she loved him, so maybe he was more than a friend. Not that it really mattered since the man’s chances were the same either way. He finished filling out the clipboard of important medical information that was needed and finished answering a ton of questions from the officers but he didn’t have a whole lot of answers to give since he had entered when pretty much everything was over.

Meeting Svetlana at the bar he questioned taking the offered drink, at least while the police were around since he was technically still on the clock. In his line of work drinking on the job could get you not only fired but get your medical license revoked and make it so you could never work in the medical field again. “Could I use it? Yes but I’d rather it not be my last night on the job so if you could just hold on to that for me.” He said not willing to take the drink where he could be seen since his job was his life. The two moved through the club and he wasn’t exactly sure where she was leading but he was willing to follow her. There was a moment of surprise as she wrapped her arms around him neck and held him close hugging him tightly and for a moment he wasn’t sure how to react as he rested his hands on the small of her back. “Seems like you’ve had a pretty stressful night, for me it’s just another night.” He released her as she back away as he finally took the drink she had tried to give him before. “I just did my job and for the most part, that’s making sure that people don’t die on my watch.” His jaw tightened slightly not liking when people took notice to the toll his powers or job took on him.

Sitting down on the couch he rested trying to push past the mental and physical exhaustion which was weighing heavily on his shoulders. He knew he had likely saved a life tonight and also changed one and that was all he could ask in a night’s work. As he brought the glass to his lips he watched the emotions playing across her face, the tears rolling down her cheeks in happiness and assumed gratitude. “We all loss people we love at some point in our life but none of us want to. If I can help to save a life I will, no matter how taxing it might be to me.” And it had taken a lot out of him but it seemed that Jared meant a lot to her and Davis did hope the man made it, “I’m one of a kind, what can I say? I do hope that our combined efforts were what he needed but it might be too early to tell. The surgery will probably take an hour or so but I expect that you want to be there when he gets out and placed in a room.” Taking another drink he tipped the glass back before downing the contents of the glass. “We all do what we have to for work and sometimes other people are overrated.” It was strange to be at a club while on the clock along with not being with his EMS team which he would have to get back to soon.

Unlike a lot of EMT's and medics, Davis done thing differently, in a way that would help the one who's been harmed, and the loved ones around the harmed one to have something positive to cling onto. Svet had gained a new light on people who'd worked the same job as Davis and appreciated them much more from the point of view she currently had, if only they could all work their jobs this way; she'd thought silently to herself. The gloomy thought that loomed around Svet had faded if only for a moment when Davis said his reason for being the first one to respond was due to a game of rock, paper, scissors he apparently sucked at, causing her to chuckle.

Svet then heard him out. It was true she'd underestimated people like EMT's chalking their jobs to be as simple as pie until Davis got a bit real with her, after his explanation, Svet seen his career in a different light, it didn't seem like a cakewalk afterall. In fact, these guys risked everything each time they were called onto a different emergency. "It sounds pretty risky, even for people like ourselves" she stated referring to the supernatural; even supernaturals had loved ones that they preferred to return home to after every dangerous evening they spent in the outside world.

Upon him stating he'd been shot at, and even shot, her mouth gaped open as if she were shocked, of course that all came with the line of work Davis done and she knew by now he was probabl used to it."Ever thought about giving it up Davis? For something less life threatning?" she questioned, knowing many people with these types of careers simply chose theor paths due to lack of having someone or something to live for. Svet couldn't help but laugh which sounded more like a snort at his comment about not being a drug dealer. "I don't know mr Costa I may have to look into it" she joked, knowing right now wasn't even time to joke but Svet had began doing anything she could to distract her from the matter at hand which clarified, she'd never get to pursue her dream job, working as a pediatric; you couldn't simply just distract yourself from a child when a tragedy fell into your lap, something she would have never learned if tonight hadn't happened, but Svet would have given anything to learn that lesson under any other circumstance.

Svet knew it'd also been risky to trust Davis and not get into some kind of fighting stance the moment she realized he wasn't human at all, but the fact that Davis was the only hope her friend Jared had, left her no room for sarcasm, brashness or fighting. It had only given her room to be thankful to Davis no matter what his kind was, this would have played out much differently had Davis been a Therian, Phoenix or Vampire, the three species who'd ended her life and made sure she'd live as nothing but a shell of a person. Svet had stopped living as a teenager and began to understand what it was to survive .. not live but survive, two terms both so different if one had the unfortunate luck of enduring both.

After helping Davis ... and using claristance to reduce JAred's pain, it was confirmed before both of their eyes that they were both supernatural beings but as a team, they'd done something together and saved his life by a slim chance. . Svet still wouldn't know  a damn thing until her phone rang either with news that he didn't make it or the news that he had by a miracle made it, either way, she now felt vulnerable. Caught in the heat of the moment, and a different kind of heat than what she preferred, Svet sat, sipping a drink as Davis met up with her at the bar, not even having in mind how foolis it'd been to offer an EMT a drink while on the clock, it was just the life she was used to and it came with being a club owner. Alcohol cures all, at least it did in her world, but it wasn't only her world that mattered right now, and with that a faint smile crept onto her features as Davis asked her to hold onto it for him.

"So sorry Davis, my judgement among other things are a bit hazy for me right now. He's not going to make it is he?" she questioned, figuring Davis knew the answer before she had even asked. As they now stood off to a more secluded area in the club, one that no one would enter with common sense, she found Davis struggling how to react with her arms wrapped around him but words still didn't fail him which she'd been thankful for because it would have called for a very awkward moment. Hearing what he had said though made Svet frown, it sucked to know that a person could get used to seeing people die, "Is there ever a breaking point for you? Im sure there are times you get a little fed up with the same gloomy surroundings when it comes to those who die on the scene and so on" she added on further. Rambling and talking jibberish was her way of dealing with being nervous.

After she had backed away from him as to not invade his personal space, she noticed the more tense expression his features now held. And it was true, it was dangerous for any supernatural to be found weak in any given moment. "Davis i'm not one to judge and I certainly mean no harm even if you are vulnerable right now, but some things just don't escape my eyes or my attention" she stated frowning, the frown due to there being only one reason and one reason only that she noticed literally everything; that being because she currently had to live her every waking second looking over her shoulder and paying close attention to those she had encountered as she was currently being hunted by those she didn't get the chance to kill the night she gained her Nephilim powers.

Only gaining your powers due to seeing your father being burnt to a crisp, and beheaded in his final moments wasn't the way one would have hoped to gain their powers, with the exception of slaughtering dozens. Her train of mind was only derailed as Davis spoke again, and his words only seemed to be true. Davis seemed like an honest, dedictaed man, and thats what supernaturals missed out on, was humanity but Davis by far had all that he needed in lines along of humanity, something Svet only admired. Svt could notice how much he needed the drink before him as it finally rose to his lips, she could almost hear the happy sigh after he took a much needed sip. "I know we all lose those that we love, sometime or another, but it definitely wasn't his time. A supernatural owning a club, but the human pays the ultimayte price of a shooting... go figure" she ranted a little, feeling utterly guilty for the fact that she'd not been the one wounded, since she would have survived. But Jared, a human, if not paralyzed or dead by morning ... had paid a price no one should have because of working for a supernatural being.

To his next comment Svet scratched the back of her neck inhaling slightly. "I hear you mr Costa, but is it always worth the risk? Saving lives must have it's glorious moments, but i imagine those you've not been able to save has made you question why you're still doing this job.... don't get me wrong or misread what im saying, I think you're amazing, someone worth looking up to ... but I would have hated myself had you died trying for Jared tonight." she admitted and continued to ramble on. Svet stopped ranting as to not make this perfect stranger feel to uncomfortable, as she was sure he already some what felt that way with everything she had already said. A sigh then echoed from her already tense features as he said it was probably to early to tell, and in the back of someones mind who was used to losing people she was already mentally sayin her goodbyes to Jared, and it hurt more than she wanted it to.

she then heard his last set of words, seeing him even more heroic than she'd seen him the moment he had stepped into her clubg not knowing if he'd make it back out alive. "I admire you Davis, the fact that it is so taxing on you and you take this risk every day gives a different meaning to humanity" she stated, rising her glass in a 'cheers' gesture. She then smirked at his next comment. "One of a kind you are, though that is only an understatement for you dear" she admitted bluntly and forwardly. To him saying she'd want to be there when he came out of surgery, Svet was shit out of luck, "Im only a friend, not a wife or family member, so im afraid that when and if he does wake, I wont be called in until visitors does" sighing again Svet began guzzling a bottle of whiskey, she needed the buzz right now more than ever.

"We don't have to stay here. My house is pretty empty" she then stated more suggesting. She knew that this was probably a first for Davis to sit in a club having a drink while being on the clock and while she didn't want to risk his job she'd came up with another way for them to continue on without the vibe from a club scene. "It's not far from here, and for what you did for my friend tonight, I'll drive you to my house and over to work when you're called back in" she finished off before waiting for him to speak up.

Was his job risky? Of course it was no matter if you were human or supernatural since taking a bullet and healing from it was a pretty good sign that you weren’t human and though a lot in the city knew of the supernatural he didn’t need a neon sign above his head. “I’ve been taking these kind of risks long before I had the upside of faster healing and comic book like abilities most would kill for. I didn’t become a field medic in the army because it was safe I did it because it was what I wanted to do, I can kill people just as easily as I can heal them but death’s not really my thing.” He admitted since even though he could fight it wasn’t something he wanted to be forced into unless he had do which was why he did his best to avoid the other branch of the Initia species. The Privus Initia and the Phoenix weren’t all that different in the fact that they were both variants and if the treatment of the Phoenix was any indication, the Privus would not be welcomed by the Radix and Davis had no intention of bowing to another Magistrate, he’d rather leave the city. “Have I ever thought of giving it up? No, this kind of things has been my career path since I was eighteen, it not a position easily filled and it takes more than many are willing to give. If all of us EMTs decided to go for safer jobs there would be no one out in the field and that’s far more dangerous than what I face on a regular occurrence.”

Davis’ bedside manner was questionable at best and well out of the norm but if you didn’t try to put people at ease they were only going to be panicked and worried. He never promised to save anyone’s life he only ever agreed to do the very best that he could knowing that no everyone could be saved no matter his personal preference to saving all of those he treated. The medical profession wasn’t for everyone due to that very thing, you were going to loss patients, that was just a fact of it. If people were in good health and doing well they wouldn’t be coming in to see you and so to a point you had to have a steel cage around your heart so it didn’t completely shatter you. Though that was also why many in the medical field were closeted alcoholics or drug users because it was hard to deal. Davis had learned to compartmentalize because if he dwelled on it then it would affect his job and his own mental health.

At her comment about the judgement of offering him a drink he waved it off and he wasn’t sure how to answer her as far as if Jared would make it. “The honest answer is that he might or he might not, the bleeding slowed but there was extensive internal damage, the bullet made a mess of things but Evermore General is equipped to handle worse. He left stable and as long as they can maintain that he’ll likely make it through but it’ll be a recovery process.” He didn’t like to give people bad news but he didn’t like to give them false hope either but for Jared right now it wasn’t false hope, there was very much a silver lining to focus on. “I can do everything in my power to save a person but I have no control over life and death. Does it hurt to watch the very life drain from someone and all you can do is hold their hand? Yeah it does. But I know that I’ve done everything that I possibly could have and for a lot of the victims and scenes we get called to, those people would have died alone. I don’t dwell on the bad and I don’t count up the people I couldn’t save that’s no way to live because if you’re counting your losses you start to forget you’ve ever won and that’s when you reach your breaking point.” He was often the person declared time of death and had to tell the victims families, if they were there, that their loved one had passed. He’d be yelled at, cussed at and hit more times than he could count but everyone needed to release their grief in one way or another.

Vulnerable, it was a terrible state for any person to be in but Davis was completely drained, if he had kept going and trying to heal Jared, he would have over used his own power and either blacked out or died. Rosalyn was always warning him against pushing himself but he had never been on to listen when others were in danger or pain. He nodded slightly at her assessment but he still didn’t like being around a stranger in such a state even if he had just attempted to save her friend’s life. Maybe he had the tendency to speak too bluntly or truthfully but that was just the way he was, “It’s never anyone’s time but it’s not our choice to make. The fact of it is you could have been a human running this club and Jared still would have been shot. He wasn’t attacked because he worked for a supernatural, he was caught in the cross fire of the violence which plagues every city around the world. It’s not your fault and you did everything that you could do to help so I wouldn’t go beating yourself up over it.” He knew she was feeling guilty but her friend hadn’t been caught in a supernatural quarrel but a human one.

As she asked if it was always worth the risk he couldn’t help but laugh even though it was a serious question. “Living in itself is a risk. Flying on a plane is a risk but my job is a risk I get to willingly make and I had no question when it comes to that. Every life has meaning so I may as well do something meaningful with mine.” Especially since gaining his Privus elements had pretty much gifted him a second life. “It’s all in the way you seeing things and how you measure your life, I don’t measure mind above that of anyone else and maybe I didn’t save Jared tonight, maybe I did but no matter what that’s not going to keep me from trying to save the person on the next call I get. It can’t, because the moment it does I don’t need to be in this field anymore.” He was incredibly passionate about his job and why he did it, it wasn’t just to have time away from his clan or money in his pocket, he had the skills and it was his duty to help where he could.

Tipping his glass back he took two gulps finishing off what she had poured him. Despite his usual lack of modesty he didn’t tend to think he did anything special, sure he’d joke to Ros that he was busy saving lives and being a hero but he didn’t necessarily feel that way. “I was human for longer than I’ve been an Initia so I consider humanity a compliment.” He said with smirk and wink though he was surprised at her more than one of a kind comment since he was used to people knocking the wind out of his sails instead of putting it into them. “I have a little wiggle room at the hospital, I’m sure I could make sure they let you in, if that’s what you want.” The radio on his EMT uniform went off.

“Dodger, we got to the hospital fine, Jared was rushed into emergency surgery and they seem to have a positive out look on his chances. Our shift is up so I’ll sign you out, have a good night.” He looked over at Lana knowing she had heard everything that was just said.

“Thanks for the update, I’ll see you tomorrow night.” He said before turning off the radio since he was officially off the clock even if he hadn’t done it himself. “I don’t have to go back in until midnight and my bike is at the hospital so I could use a ride, to where is your call.” He said as a yawn escaped his lips even though he was trying to hold it back.

Svet knew that there probably was that very unwelcomed neon sign above both of their heads right now, given how they'd teamed up to save Jared, and the only thing comforting that came with that was that her club was normally only filled with supernaturals; Most of them already even knew that Svet was a Nephilim, the regulars did at least and it seemed to have drawn them in even more. Opening Sinister Sounds with Dominic hadn't only been for the love of music, but she'd opened it as a place for the supernaturals and humans to come and co-exist like they were meant to outside of the club, but the young Nephilim had a wry feeling that the silence between all the factions was just the calm before the storm.

However, her club seemed to have done quite well with the co-existing deal. You had your typical drunken fights, and the occasional shootings, or stabbings, it came with the lifestyle of running and promoting clubs. She'd only hated the fact that Jared had been caught in the cross fire of one of those unfortunate events. But, she was grateful to Davis however, for risking himself and exposing what he was to save her friend. As Davis began speaking, Svet's icy blue hues darted back over to him, giving a warming smile to the words he'd said just then "I admire that Davis. Doing something you're doing because you wanted to do it is a better reason than doing it because you're trying to make a point to others, i'd say a job like yours would only be miserable if you weren't doing it by choice" she stated, swallowing harshly as he spoke of how he could kill as easily as he could heal, she'd always been interested in his kind and their abilities but she never wanted to witness them first hand.

"So what happened with being a medic in the army?" she then asked out of curiosity, smiling however the more he spoke. The more Davvis spoke of his job, the more Svet felt that he was growing on her, a perfect stranger maybe, but the man had a heart and he was straight to the point about things but she had a feeling that beyond that, Davis probably had a fun side to him that he probably didn't show to many people. "I think that's the realest thing ive heard in a long time Davis. if everyone in your field of work were to cower and run every time they faced a life threatning scenario like you did tonight, there'd be none of you left, and you're right, that's far more dangerous than running into open fire" she stated in agreement, sipping her drink slowly. As absurd as the statement sounded, it was true. Having no EMT's or medics to rush to these kinds of scenes would have been a major downfall for the city, even a city full of supernaturals because even those with healing abilities needed help sometimes.

Sighing to herself, Svet ran a hand over her face completely drained for the night, it had been one hell of a night and she was ready to turn in for the night, at least as far as being at the club went. She was sure Davis didn't want to end his night here either. As he then gave her an honest answer on Jared's well being, her head hung low for a moment, but she still had hope, and having hope was more than one could ask for in a situation like that. "Well, again thank you so much Davis. I know being thanked is probably something you don't like hearing while you're doing your job as it's something you didn't necessarily do for me, but i'm still grateful" she then said before sitting what was now, an empty glass on the desk. before scooting closer to him. Davis seemed so different, as she'd stated earlier, but the differences in Davis were difference she cherished about this man. It took someone like him to be a great EMT.

Someone with Davis's mindset was hard to come across, and she only smiled as he mentioned that a lot of people would end up dying alone, for those he couldn't save, but instead he at least sat there with them, so that they weren't alone. Counting her loss's was something Svet had been good at and perhaps it was the very reason she'd reach a breaking point herself, hearing Davis speak on it gave her a different point of view on it, even though her loss's weren't the same as his, losing was losing when it came to life and death. "Did you reach some kind of breaking point to make you realize all of this? OR did you just have the right mentality on it before stepping into this field of work?" she questioned, curious as to whether something tragic had happened for Davis to be the man he is right now. But, as Svet knew best, not everyone had to go through tragedy to be a good well carried person, some people were just naturally, great.

When Davis's expression shifted to one of exhaustion, Svet chuckled, "I would be zombie-like right now if I were in your shoes, plus I know the way you took that bullet out called for another definition of exhaustion. It does the same for my kind, I guess we all have our limitations and none of us are invincible, I wouldn't want to be though, I cling onto whatever I can that keeps my human side at the surface" Svet admitted before smiling brightly as he gave a few words of kindness and encouragement. "Well thank you Davis. I want so much to be a pediatrtion, but with what I just experienced, I don't know if i'm built for it. I'm sure a pediatrition's job isn't half as intense as this is for you, but i'd be the very type to count my losses every time i'm not successful. I just want to help children though, that is the one thing I am sure of" she admitted as her smile faded slightly.

Before Davis had said even if it'd been a human running this club, Jared still would have been shot, Svet had been sitting there self loathing, but his words caused her to snap out of it and to a more realistic train of thought, "That's true though, I guess no matter what, Jared was just in the wrong place at the wrong time tonight... I have a tendency of blaming everything on myself, a terrible quality I know" she admitted with a soft chuckle echoing from her lips. His laughter had thrown her off for a moment, but then she'd noticed the gorgeous smile that adorned it before words followed it. True ones of course, Davis had a knack for that, being blunt and honest, which made it so easy for her to just sit here and talk to him."Fair enough, me walking outside into the night is a risk so I get what you're saying" she added with her own laughter.

It was clear that Davis was passionate about his work, his job obviously meant a great deal to him, figuring he meant as much to the job and those around him all the same. Smirking back over to him in response, Svetlana flashed him a wink "No need to thank me, your humanity shines bright, hard for one to not see it; or maybe i'm just lucky enough to see it" she stated before finishing off one more glass before hearing him say he had a little bit of  wiggle room at the hospital, grinning, Svet nodded. "I definitely want" she added before the sound of his radio caused her flirty; girly smile to fade in an instant. With the words spoken by another however, confirming that Jared was stable, tears of happiness ran down her cheeks. She probably assumed by now that Davis would have thought Jared was Svet's boyfriend or something, with how she'd reacted to him being shot. "And by the way, even though I know it wasn't even an interest of yours, Jared and I are only friends; I'm sure his boyfriend is just as grateful for you saving his life as I am" Svet then said, chuckling, blushing slightly.

Even though Svet was intrigued and wanted to see the action at the  hospital, she couldn't help but to sympathize and offer something more cozy, and outside of his work habitat. "Well Mr Costa, if you're not to uncomfortable with it, we can just go hang at my place for a while, and even rest there if you need,  and when you get called back in i'll drive you, and get a sneak peak of what happens on the inner walls of the hospital" she stated grinning ear to ear, happy to know he did have a little wiggle room there, she'd always been curious due to it being a place she hadn't ever seen in action, and with what she seen from Davis tonight she could imagine that the hospital was a very fast paced place.

Davis had been born into a war of two species and one of which he didn’t even fit in. So he had seen people hurt and wounded in his young life and there had been little he or anyone else could do since they refuse to go for medical attention and often times died from their burns. That was just what he grew up knowing to their clan there had been no other way. So if Davis could help ease the suffering of others and potentially save their lives than he would. “Anyone I’d need to make a point to is dead and those who aren’t know the kind of person that I am. It’s always better to do something because you want to and for your own reasons than to do it for others. It’s nearly impossible to be and EMT or a doctor if you feel like you have to. It also makes it harder to move on when things go wrong and you tend to blame yourself and hold a lot of guilt.” Not that Davis ever really had to worry about that because he knew that his job meant that he would do what he could and often times that meant not everyone could be saved.

“What happened with it? I was part of black ops type team for about four years and towards the end of my enlistment I had some family matters that brought me back to the States and I was either given the chance to re-enlist or take care of some matters from the past. I went with the latter.” That and after the Sterling sister’s found him he didn’t have much choice since their interference in his life caused him to lose everything he had built and created. That was a little too heavy to tell a completely stranger though. “Everyone has a fight or flight instinct the only different in between fight and flight I have an extra instinct of help and heal.” Besides he didn’t have any great fear of losing his life and pain was something he could handle so why not get paid to help people and make a living out of it?

Not everyone appreciated honesty in such situations but you had to walk a thin line of telling people the truth and giving them a bit of hope without over doing it on either side with being too optimistic or too pessimistic. “Being thanked for doing your job has always seemed a bit silly to me but it does wonders for my ego.” He teased sending a wink in her direction, it was nice for someone to say thank you from time to time but it wasn’t necessary. It was far nicer than being yelled at or cussed at though that was for sure.

Davis had learned a long time ago you couldn’t save everyone, you couldn’t even save all those that you care about and all you could do was your best. That was all Davis had ever done from the Army forward and what he continued to do as far as Rosalyn and his clan was concerned. His view and perspective had changed a lot from when he was boy but there were still things he held on to even from then. “I’ve never allowed myself to reach a breaking point, not when on the job anyway. In my personal life I’ve reached a few but when it’s come to the job I’ve always had a way of finding a degree of separation.” It was never anything he had to struggle with and the last time mortal had caused him to reach a breaking point had been with his ex-fiancée when she had died. That one event had broken a part of him that he was no longer willing to give to anyone else, his heart.

A nap would be nice and he knew it would take awhile to recharge his elemental batteries so to speak but he was alright with that since it may have saved a life. “Nothing a good night’s sleep can’t fix and it was less of the bullet retrieval than the healing. Bullets are easy to remove or change the path of, trying to heal internal damage is the taxing part.” As she spoke of limitations he knew he had them and he knew his own limitations but he tended to push past them and put himself in the danger zone so to speak. “A pediatrician can be a very rewarding but very heart wrenching job. It’s tougher to work with kids than it is adults that’s for sure. Their lives still in the beginning stages and watching them sick or struggling is hard and it’s not the sort of job I could take on.” He knew his own limitations and not being able to help or save a child, that did stick with you no matter how strong you might be.

It seemed that Svetlana was catching onto the point that this wasn’t her fault, it was just the world they lived in in general, not the supernatural world. Humans found themselves in tight spots all the time without the help of the supernatural, that was just the way it seemed to work. “Well most tend to think I’m human so all they see is my humanity. Though most of us supernatural species aren’t much different than humans, just abilities and longer lives at times.” Given how many people Davis helped to bring into the hospital he knew a lot of the doctors and nurses, having a friendship with the head nurse also helped out a lot. “I’m sure I can pull a few strings as long as you don’t tell anyone.” Listening to the radio he was glad for some good news tonight. Once the radio of off he did have a great sense of freedom since he was done for the moment with work. “Is that your subtle way of telling me I need to break the rules for two people instead of one?” He joked even though it was clear why she was bringing it up.

Standing slowly Davis stretched his arms above his head and felt the tension of his body lessen and it felt great. “Rest sounds good, especially somewhere other than the nurses break room.” He muttered since the chairs there weren’t the most comfortable to try to sleep on. “Oh just using me for my job and hook ups with the hospital. I see how it is, way to make a guy feel need.” He teased catching her grin, “I don’t spend a lot of time at the hospital to be honest, it’s lonely the ambulance and wheeling people into the emergency room. But it’s easy to learn the important people that way and who not to piss off.” Which was probably why he still had his job since he didn’t always play but the rules.

Svet had never been one to place herself in the middle of a war she didn;t fitt in either, so it was fair to say she knew how that went. Although, if push came to shove she'd definitely be on the Initia side of everything after seeing her father burtn to a crisp by the Phoenix. It had fuelled her hatrid for them and she had spared none of them when it came to hating them. Maybe not everyone of them were the same, but it had only taken one of them to make her hate every last one. To this day, the young Nephilim felt her blood boil when the matter came to mind, the only thing currently snapping her out of her anger was Davis's voice.

"Well Davis you make a point. I doubt a person would get very far in your field of work if it was being done by force, I would assume more than anything that it takes heart, and passion to carry on with a job like yours. I definitely admire you for what you do for people.. risking your life when calls like tonight come through.. kind of makes you seem heroic" she stated in response, flashing a pearly white grin at him adorned by perfect dimples engraved in her cheeks. Listening intently then as Davis explained briefly about what had happened for him to no longer be a medic for the army, the young Nephilim bit down on her lower lip, keeping eye contact understanding he hadn't explained things in detail, but also understanding it was a bit much to do so when you were telling it to a complete stranger.

As she continued listening, she couldn’t help but to think of her father, and his time spent in the military, if only he had put it aside like Davis had and chose his family, well.. Svet, then maybe hed still be alive, but he literally died due to his committment to the Nephilim’s. Sighing, she glanced up from the floor, gazing back to Davis. “I understand; apologies if i’m coming off to strong with the questions, I guess im a little to curious for my own good” she admitted with a chuckle, shaking her head slightly. She then nodded as he explained the fight or flight instinct, immediately knowing what he meant “Be thankful for that though, the help and heal instinct I bet it’s saved a lot of lives already and will do so in the future.. It’s to bad everyone don’t have those instincts and qualities”

Svet actually appreciated his optimistic side along with a bit of pessimism, simply because it would have only hurt more had he been only optimistic and Jared hadn’t pulled through, but on the other hand, being to pessimistic and straight up telling someone “your loved one is going to die, would have made for a bad situation to, so the way Davis handled it was appreciated. Chuckling then as he stated it was silly to be thanked for doing your job well, but it had done wonders on his ego, Svet smirked. “Nothing wrong with a little boost of ego . you deserve it, and from some of the medic’s ive seen with how they do things, im sure you’ve gotten a thank you from more than just me” she expressed, and it was sad but true that a lot of medic’s, and EMt’s only did their job as much as they had to to get their paycheck, and the good ones, even though they came rarely, went above and beyond to make sure they did their job in a way that brought comfort and a little bit of peace to each situation they encountered.

Svet was aware that in his situation, or well a lot of peoples situations, you can’t save everyone.. Not even those that you loved, because if that had been the case, her father certainly wouldn’t have lost his life the way he did. Svet was very different with matters like this, and Davis seemed really strong willed, she sighed as she lacked his skills due to her having a dream to fulfill with working as a pediatrition. She wouldn’t be in no shape to have a jobthat required soimetimes not being able to help the children and since the young Nephilim only wanted to succeed, she'd take it to hard if she failed. Svet nodded as he explained the healing part had been the more taxing part on him, straining his own health as an Initia. It let Svet know though, that even the supernatural had to stop themselves and couldn't be hero's all the time, even though Davis had been exactly that tonight.

"I did enjoy watching, until I seen it weaken you, then I felt like crap" she explained with a sigh, a faint frown tugging at her features. "I can imagine, it's the fact that I would break down on the job if there was a time I couldn't help one of the children.. but I shouldn't l;et it stop me, I'll find a way to swallow the lump of fear in my throat, because i'd only hate myself for never trying" she then added, shaking her head. She enjoyed talking to Davis even though it had only been hours ago that they'd met, but, for once she was able to just have conversation, about real things. She wasn't sitting here drunk off her ass, throwin herself at anyone, or in a fight, and she certainly wasn't feeling the need to look over her shoulder every five seconds. She'd somehow found a comfort zone in Davis's presnece, and it was very much welcomed / needed.

Svet smiled at what he'd said next. It was sometimes rare for Svet to see a supernatural who held onto so much of their humanity like Davis did, due to the fact she'd grown up around nothing but evil and darknes, and the supernaturals she'd encountered on many occasions and for her teenage years spent in captivity around them, caused her to think that all supernaturals were that way, but Davis along with a few others had been the exception. Even Svet herself had clung onto her humanity, maybe by a thin string but she still hung onto it. From the corner of her eyes, the Nephilim grinned, gazing to him as he joked about breaking the rules "Perhaps mr Costa, perhaps. Im sure I could make it worth while" she teased back before finaly getting back to her feet. "And don't worry, my lips are sealed" she added, flashing a wink in his direction as he'd told her as long as she didn't say nothing, he could pull a few strings, causing her to become consumed by excitement, but she did her best to hide it other wise it would have seemed as though Svet had no life at all, and that the simplest of things made her react as a child did when they were excited.

"So you rest in the nurses break room? I can't imagine that being comfortable at all, seems it would be loud as hell there" she stated, gazing to him as he stretched, her own features softening and not as tense now. Svet's eyes widened to his next statement, grinning though, she smacked his arm playfully "Hey, I would never. Although, it sounds a little tempting" she smirked, teasingly. The more she and Davis spoke, the more interesting the Initia became in her eyes. "Ugh, honestly I imagine it is very lonely in that ambulance, spending every day doing the same thing, but to be able to walk away at the end of the night and say you've saved lives, is probably more than rewarding and satisfying" she nodded, with a knowing smile adorning her features.

Now that they were both to their feet, Svet began walking towards the exit, only stopping by the bar to inform those who had stayed behind to clean up and close the club down for the night that she was leaving, making sure they knew to not let anyone else back in for the night due to the shooting.Svet would have been crushed if such a thing had caused her to lose her club. And with that, she was overly cautious when things like this happened. After exiting the club, making sure Davis was with her, she grinned, hitting the button on her key switch to unlock her Volvo. "You look beat" she stated jokingly, chuckling before climbing into the passenger side, revving the engine as she started the car. Thankfully, Svet's house wasn't far from where they were, so it would take only a few minutes to arrive. She knew Davis would most likely crash when he got there, and although they were still new to one another, it felt right to take him back to her place so he could get rested up. And with the hope that she had gained a new friend tonight, she'd make it a point to reach out to him and get to know him even more if he was okay with it.

While in the army working special forces he had seen many in the medical field taken and forced to work for the opposite side. They didn’t like or enjoy it but they did so in order to remain alive and that was all anyone could do in that sort of situation. That was far different than feeling forced into an occupation as a civilian though. A snorting chuckle left him as she called him heroic, “There are enough people who know me who would debate the fact that I’m heroic. Stupid, egotistically, an idiot, cocky, those are the words I’m used to hearing, not heroic.” There was a chuckle to his voice since he knew all of those descriptions were spoken in jest and in no way hurt his feelings since some of them were true. Both of your parents being killed would cause anyone to come home early, not that they had the best of relationships but their lawyer has wanted him there since everything was left to him. Part was left to the Sterlings but that hadn’t been much of a surprise to Davis.

“Curiosity is a part of the nature of all living beings. I’ve just never really been one to shy away from answering the things that people ask.” He had found that could keep someone calm in an emergency situation if you just kept talking to them or answering their questions in some way. “That instinct helped a lot in the army to be honest with you. When you’re in a war torn country, you aren’t supposed to be in locals don’t trust anyone in a uniform for good reason. But if you can offer them something like medical attention for their wounded they tend to be willing to give you information they might not have before.” Now it just helped because he never second guessed or really considered what situation he might be headed into, he just knew that someone needed help and that was what mattered.

Taking a realistic and yet sympathetic approach had always worked best for Davis since the last thing you wanted to do was promise someone to save the life of their loved on and fail. At that point it was then on you since you should have never made a promise you might not be able to keep, there were too many things you couldn’t account for in the field and giving people false hope was worse than giving them the truth. It was a fine line to walk but he had become rather skilled at it since in the army he hadn’t needed to worry about his bedside manner too much while stitching up his team. “Yeah I know a lot of people who would disagree with there being nothing wrong with an ego boost. And most of those people I live with so they would know.” He said with a chuckle knowing Rowan would just roll his eyes and Rosalyn would try to chip away at his ego to bring it down to a manageable level as she liked to call it. “Thanks come from time to time but sometimes you also get those moments of anger and panicked stress so you have to learn to handle both.” Which he thought he usually did pretty well but he was biased on that one.

A dark brow rose as he looked over at Svetlana. “I wouldn’t worry too much about me or feel like crap over a decision I made. You didn’t ask me to do it and neither did Jared, it was my call and feeling bad about it is senseless since you had nothing to do with it.” He stated honestly since there was no reason for her to feel bad. “You find that helping comes in a lot of different ways, you might not always be able to medically help them but what sick kids also want is a friend and someone who understands. I’ve learned a long time ago to help with what you can and don’t blame yourself for what you can’t do. Children are the hardest because of the simple fact that they’re so young and innocent, they aren’t meant to suffer. If that’s what you want to do then try but it take a special sort to be able to work in that field.” He remembered a child at one scene wanting him to help their bunny who had been hurt, even though he didn’t know anything that the anatomy of a rabbit he did his best to help and in the end healed the bunny just to bring a smile to the kid’s face, of course he pretended he used medical knowledge the whole time.

After the death of his parents Davis had vowed to never be like them, not to be the like phoenix who had caused their death either. Despite Rosalyn’s retained hated for the phoenix species Davis wasn’t angry over what had happened to his parents since it was a war they had never even tried to leave. That wouldn’t be his way of life so he continued living how he had before the element of metal had chosen him. If Rosalyn decided to go after the phoenix who had left the city, Davis had already told her it was a path he couldn’t and wouldn’t follow. So he would just continue to help people, “I’m sure we could come to some sort of agreement. I don’t break the rules for just anyone…well mostly I don’t anyway.” Not that he care too much for rules in general. The fact that she would be able to see Jared when he got out of surgery seemed to made Svetlana happy and he would sure if he were in her position it would hit him the same way.

“The chairs are alright and given the rotation there aren’t very many in there at a time. Besides I’m not supposed to be in their in general so I can’t really complain.” He had a way of talking people into seeing things his way, plus the ER nurses saw him all the time and he did his best to make their lives easier unlike some EMTs who handed patients off like they were now the nurses problem which highly ticked him off. “Hey I don’t know you well enough to know better now do I?” He joked able to keep things light now that he wasn’t concentrating on saving someone’s life. “I don’t work with the same crew every night but there are always at least three of us to an ambulance which takes are of some of the loneliness but it’s a very fast paced job and you learn to communicate with saying as little as possible when you have to.” It was a good feeling to be able to say you’ve saved lived but the job itself was physically and mentally taxing so by the end of the night you were pretty much done.

As they headed towards the exit he nodded at those cleaning up around the bar and they gave him a look of gratitude. Hopefully this incident didn’t cause the club’s reputation too much damage since something like this could be the end of a club. It was good Svetlana had people willing to help with the clean up though since he knew from experience blood wasn’t easy to get out of anything. Following the Nephilim towards the Volvo before sliding his large frame into the passenger seat and leaning his head against the head rest. “Four twelve hour shifts a week, sometimes five will wear even a supernatural being out.” He stated honestly since those hours were killer not including what you were doing all those hours and you took all kinds of calls, some not as serious as others. “Some days I think I should have gone for my doctorate and have normal office hours and then I remember how much I despised classes.” He muttered more than happy with his current position not needing a PhD attached to his name.

With the slight roll of her shoulders, the Russian Nephilim shrugged. To her there was no debate in weather or not he was a hero, because while the rest of the paramedics always waited on back up in situations like tonight, Davis didnt even hesitate to run in on what could have ultimately ended his life, just to try and save the life of someone else. Svetlana found a little bit of irony in that, but it was admiring all the same. Her life had been made up of one vicisous circle and all Svet knew how to do was survive so she would never know what it was like to be on the other side of things, the closest to normal she ever got was co owning Sinister Sounds with Dominic and the few friendships she had gained since moving into the city.

Life in the shadows had never treated her well, always on the run, or at the very least, having to look over her shoulder when she wasnt running had became something that seemed tragically normal to the young Nephilim. The combination of words Davis used to explain what he was used to being called caused Svet to grimace as she looked to the ground "sounds like you've really held onto some of that ... letting people give you a bad self image ..i get that.. not that you seem crippled by all those names you were called" she stated, making sure he knew that she wasnt assuming something she didnt know about. Svet then smiled, David said curiosity was a part of all beings nature and that much was true. It did tend to put those in distress at ease to have their questions answered, it made for a little bit of light in very dark moments so that too was something she liked about Davis.

"I can understand that, at least you had the wits about you to bargain with people who felt uncomfortable with men in uniforms; medical attention for info, kind of curious what information you gained, but thats something probably very classified” she chuckled, shaking her head with a faint grin dancing on her features. Svetlana didn't really know much about having a big ego, or having an already big ego fed by people around you, but Davis seemed to disagree .. the people he lived with had  obviously knocked him a time or to for having  a big ego. "Well I can understand the panic and anger in a traumatic situation; I seem to breathe anger due to my own trauma" she admitted, gritting her teeth at the whole situation. When Davis told her it would be senseless to feel bad about things, Svet eyed him for a moment "So you're absolutely fine with just risking your life for complete strangers?" she questioned, but it came with the job, she did understand that much.

Sighing to herself, she nodded "Fine, I'll try to feel a little less shitty that you could have died in my club..." she stated, chuckling. Death was something she was no stranger to. Danger seemed to follow her with some type of magnetic force or something. To be immune to such things would probably seem tragic in the eyes of others, but for Svetlana it was something she now considered normal. If she walked a day of her life without feeling as though someone was lurking behind her to end her life, the Nephilim would have probably stroked out and head a heart attack, imagining how boring that life style would be after living the way she currently was, overwhelmed her to the point that she almost didn't want things to change.

A gun shot? that was nothing, but it hurt her that it'd happened to someone she cared so deeply for. Svetlana smiled faintly, listening intently to Davis speak about what kind of mindset and such that you would need to work in the field that the Nephilim had only dreamed of working in "You're right. I definitely will try it.. and ill keep in mind what you said, help with what you can and don't be doomed with what you can't... those are good words to go by, so thank you Davis" she said in response. The Nephilim grinned once more, when he stated he didn't break the rules for just anyone, followed by a soft girl like giggle. "That's always nice to know, rule breaking does come in handy sometimes though.. I can't say ive been a saint in that matter, but ive only ever broken the rules for life and death situations... literally" she stated truthfully, but refused to let her mind wander back to her past, where it always seemd to when she talked about things she used to do, even as simple as rule breaking, with her that only meant something in her past, and anything in her past was horrific.

Flashing the Initia a wink, Svetlana chuckled as well. She enjoyed his ability to make light of things in moments like this, it definitely did make him the perfect EMT. "Sounds a bit rough if ya ask me.. the job being so fast paced that you really don't have the time to get to know the people you work with, but im sure their presonality as well as many other things, show their the way they work... so i guess it seems rough, but also interesting." she added, curiosity coursing through her like never before. Svetlana had never been one keen on learning new things, especially if it wasn't information that would benefit her later on, but for some reason, she really enjoyed hearing about Davis's job.. the things he went through and so on.

As they neared the exit, Svet looked to those cleaning up, and some of her staff who stayed behind just because this club was all they knew, giving them a nod, smiling, hoping to reassure them without saying anything, that they wouldn't lose their jobs, nor would this club be shut down. Svet had grown to love the place, and she would have done anything to keep it afloat. It was easy to fight for something that worth it.. it was that worth it to her anyways. Grinning as Davis fit his masculine frame into the passanger side seat, Svet slid into the drivers side, listening, with widened eyes. Starting the engine, Svet turned the nob on the volume down, to a level where it didn't drown out neither her's nor Davis's voice. "Good lord Davis, no rest for the weary huh? you totally need a break" she stated, chuckling and shaking her head. While Davis rested his head on the head rest, Svet continued speeding her way along the highway hoping the drive would seem shorter for him that it always did for her.  Humming to the song in the background, Svet gazed from the road to Davis every so often, wondering what went thrugh his mind in quiet moments like this. Svetlana had always zoomed in on things going on with her life when she was driving and music was playing,

Bringing the Volvo to a screeching stop as they neared her drive way. Her home was rather fancy for just one person, and for one person who was constantly on the run, but it was hers; she'd worked pretty hard and saved up for a long time for all the things she gained since moving into the city. "We're here" she then said, speaking softly in case he had dozed off for the drive over before getting out and stretching her worn out limbs, feeling the tension in her muscles working over time at this point "Christ, I need a massage" she muttered in a low tone of voice, frustrated with how she literally never had time for herself, not to rest, not to do anything normal whatsoever. Looking to Davis, Svet smiled "Well this is my home, hope it doesn't seem like to much, Ive definitely never portrayed the lifestyle of a rich girl" she chuckled jokingly before fiddling with the keys to find the key to her front door.

After opening it, she stood aside, waiting for Davis to join her. A drink was just the thing right now, perhaps for both of them, but even if Davis didn't want one, Svetlana definitely needed one. "I really can't thank you enough for what you did tonight, saving Jared. Do you think he'll have any life long complications?" she then asked, not even thinking about that before, that he could end up paralyzed or anything else. Inhaling, she decided she wouldn't dwell to much, that for now the two of them could just live for the moment, and she'd wait for a phone call, she was sure if anything major happened, the hospital would call. "After you Costa" she then grinned, gesturing for him to walk on in, biting on her lower lip as she waited for him to do so.Svet chuckled, gazing to him "Sounds like a bit of regret in your tone there Davis" she stated, smirking playfully, but she was sure anyone in his field of work at one point had wished for the very same as him that they had went for the doctorate degree instead. Normal hours for someone who worked as long and as hard as Davis was hard to come by, so she definitely understood the joke, unless he was being serious, which by the way he seemed to love his job, she doubted very much that he was being serious.
