To say he was proud of what he had achieved here in Greece was an understatement, he had done what he honestly thought was impossible when he first came here. He felt responsible for this place, tied to it in a way no one could explain. This place had given him immortality and in exchange he had sucked the whole place dry of magic. That had been close to 800 years ago and yet now you wouldn't believe it ever happened. Bash had learned a lot about magic in the time he had life, enough to understand it's lifeforce, how it lived and breathed and while it was unpredictable at times, he had learned to accept the whimsical ways. It was what made him special and he embraced that.

It had been a long night training with the apprentices, the more word travelled that the citadel was repaired the more kept showing up on his door. He was a harsh teacher but he'd gained a reputation as one of the best and that meant every diviner without a coven eventually ended up here. He was okay with it, albeit selective about those he chose to teach. After sending everyone back to their rooms to rest he headed down the spiral staircase which led to the basement. He was the only one allowed down here, he had discovered the power source of the citadel many years ago and taken care of it since then, in ways, it helped to clear his mind and understand magic on a deeper level, how it never disappeared or was really destroyed, just became other things.

But he had to admit that seeing a person passed out on the floor beside the pond. That wasn't what he was expecting. "Do you think you could give me some damn notice before delivering me your 'gifts'?" he questioned generally to the room as he edged closer to study the frame of the passed out girl on the floor. He didn't recognize her and she also didn't look local. He frowned before nudging her slightly with his toe to see if she would respond to some light encouragement. "Now where did you come from?" he commented tilting his head as he knelt down. His eyes naturally falling on the pendant which was fixed around her neck and pressing his lips together "Well I'll be damned" it had been a long time since he thought about that necklace.

Darkness. Cold, unyielding darkness. She was trapped. No matter how hard she screamed, her voice got lost in the never-ending silence. She didn't float into nothingness. She was stuck, like she had been trapped in a glass cube and thrown into space. With time she had stopped protesting and soon her memories faded. She tried to hold onto them, as a token of sanity, but they slipped through her fingers. Soon enough she had no name, no face. She had turned into nothing - the very void she had been trapped into. There was no sense of time where she was, it could have been minutes or decades and she could feel her existence fading, slowly, bit by bit getting lost in the darkness.

Like an arrow shot into the sky, a voice found her amidst the darkness. Simple words that she clung onto for dear life. "Don't go..." The words echoed around her and with every ounce of strength in her body, she latched onto them. "I need you...." No, she wasn't going to let go, she had to hold on...for her. Whose voice was it? She didn't know. But after eons in darkness she knew she had to wake up, she had to break free. The words led her out of her prison and slowly she could hear the chirping of insects pricking through the silence, the sound of water lapping at the shore. She fumbled in the darkness, trying to reach where the voice was leading her until she came upon a burning sun. And the moment she touched the light, it sucked her in.

Full brown eyes jolted wide open, the breath caught in her throat sucked out as she sat up straight, heart racing. She was alive.

it took her a moment to register the man beside her, an unfamiliar face, though everything around her seemed unknown too. She tried to form words but she had forgotten how to speak and for a minute she sat there panting, trying to remember something - anything, but her memory was like a fresh chalkboard, waiting to be filled. "I-" She finally regained her voice, turning her head to the man. Did she know him? "Who are you?" She asked desperately looking for answers, "Who am I?"

Tapping her with his foot didn’t seem to do much when it came to waking her and so he had stayed there a while making himself comfortable at the edge of the room as he listened to the sound of the running water to the stream. She was breathing, albeit faintly but there was something about her aura that was...different to what he expected. There was a darkness tainting her which he couldn’t describe easily...it was cold...almost chilling.

And then after while she finally opened her eyes, suddenly sitting up from her laying position and looking around in a panic. Well that answered his question about whether she had actually passed out down here after sneaking in, it was evident she had no idea where she was. He pressed his lips together in thought, she was wearing the necklace had made all that time ago and now she was here...which meant whoever this girl was, she had died.

“I am Sebastian...head…” technically priest but that seemed like a stupid title to take on “Of the citadel” he spoke it bluntly, still keeping her under a cautious gaze. Though her next question made him from “That, I would like to know too” he commented as he pointed to her and then the pond “That pond right there is a source of natural world’s magic...and it seems it decided to save you” he commented matter of factly “The question is why” he commented thoughtfully “Knew any dark diviners?” he questioned with an arch of his brow.

The voice in her head had become faint, as if drifting away now that it had fulfilled its purpose. She looked around hesitantly, almost stupidly hoping that the man was the owner of the voice but as he spoke, that thought quickly evaporated. She listened to him explain to her who he was and while his name sounded familiar, there was nothing in his features that warranted recognition. So she bit her lip and rose to her feet, her legs still shaky as she stumbled a few times before finally standing up. "Save me from what?" The female eventually asked, eyeing the pond behind her.

She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to think, willing her memories to come back but it was fruitless and with a roll of her purple-tinted optics at his question responded, "I can't even remember who I am, let alone if I knew any dark diviners." She retorted, an unusual sass in her tone that she had no doubt inherited from her previous life. If she had a previous life. That was when the voice in her head echoed once again, as if a reminder that she did indeed have a life that had abruptly ended and she needed to get back to.

The female took another look of her surroundings before letting her gaze rest on the man, "If you're head of...." She trailed off, trying to remember the word he had used but instead with a wave of her hand continuing, "This place. And I ended up here. Surely you'd know something?" It didn't seem like a stretch, especially with the cockiness that exuded from the man.

He was watching her with a skeptical expression as she slowly raised to her feet, he could feel magic surrounding her, powerful magic which told him that necklace around her neck had finally served its purpose, to grant an impossible wish. And yet she wasn’t the person he was expecting to have it, which made him wonder what became of the person it once belonged to “What? Do I look like a seer to you?” he responded sarcastically and shrugged, he could guess of course but he didn’t know this girl.

She did seem to be trying to remember but it was evident from the blank look on her fact that she had absolutely no clue what he was talking about “Well you know what a diviner is, that’s a good start I suppose” and she was a nephilim, he could tell from that distinctive purple sheen to her eyes when they caught the light.

“Like I said, not a seer, not particularly interested in helping a charity case either but here we are” he pointed to her necklace on her neck “You remember anything about that, Jane?” well if she didn’t have a name then Jane doe would suffice for now. She seemed confused and he noticed her body seemed weak and frail. He sighed and jerked his chin towards the staircase “We can talk somewhere more comfortable upstairs” he didn’t give her the chance to respond before he was already heading up them.

As she took in her surroundings, the female felt a dull ache at the back of her head. The man's sass matched hers but she was too occupied by things like who she really was to respond to his snide remarks. She rolled her shoulders back and felt the pain slowly drift down her body, as if she was finally coming into awareness of how weak and in pain she felt.

"And I'm a...." She trailed off, eyes scanning her open palms as if trying to recollect the word from the depths of her memories, "Nephilim. I think." She paused to look up at him, hoping he could confirm. Well, that was a start, the brunette thought, she had a species: Nephilim. "Not that I know fully what that means," she decided to add.

Jane...nope, that was definitely not her name, but the object he pointed at - the necklace that sat on her skin - she felt a familiar tug towards it. "I'm not entirely sure." She said, a sigh leaving her lips realising how every question ended with the same answer, it was getting a little frustrating. "Up-" Before she could question him, the man was walking up a flight of stairs. She had no choice but to follow him, dragging her weakened body up into a warmer room. The female immediately found herself a chair, her body slumping over it like she hadn't rested for weeks. "My name's definitely not Jane, by the way." She informed Sebastian, "I don't like it."

He was watching her with a cautious gaze because he wasn’t one to naturally trust things and this wasn’t exactly your orthodox meeting considering she had just appeared out of nowhere into the citadel. Still, he was sure there was some sort of complicated universe related reason why this was happening that would reveal itself at the right moment.

She had either hit her head or whatever magic had brought her here had an impact on her memory because he could see her trying to search the depths of her mind for scraps of information and coming up with nothing. Sebastian was good at spotting liars and from what he could see, she wasn’t one. “You think?” he responded with a low chuckle and nodding as though to confirm she was correct “You won’t be winning awards with that though” he commented bluntly “It means you’re a half-angel chica” he commented with a wry smile.

His gaze moved to the necklace again and he bit his lip wondering what it meant for the previous owner, he suspected nothing good which was honestly quite a sting for him to realize “Of course not” he responded in a slightly frustrated tone, he knew it wasn’t her fault but he was getting more questions than answers at this point. He watched over his shoulder as she followed him up the stairs, ensuring that she didn’t stumble her way down them again “Got it...would you rather I call you girl?” he responded a little sarcastically because it wasn’t like she could give him one.

She seemed exhausted but able to hold her own so he kept his distance as he made himself comfortable in a chair opposite “Ah how rude of me, tea? coffee? Magical energy tonic to replenish your strength?” he offered as he crossed his legs and stared over at her with a curious gaze.
