Tick...Tock….Tick...Tock….Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock.

For the last 3 hours; Artemitra found herself lying in her bed. Staring up at the ceiling and just listening to the sound of the clock ticking. As if it would soothe her back to sleep.  The Celestial could see the shadow of the clock against her wall; one would think that watching the little clock hands shifting; would hypnotize her into a sleeping state. But no such luck. Any time, she tried closing her eyes; The Celestial had found herself back in the abandoned hut; helpless, terrified ...the poison vile spilled on the floor.

With the weeks colliding into the next one; she couldn’t recall the last time she had a decent night’s sleep; without being haunted by nightmares and flashbacks. Finding that her usual herbal remedies and tricks that used to help her; were fading in their affect. Almost like, her nightmares were being induced by something sinister; the same sinister thing, that was the cause of her ending up in such a bad shape.

But she couldn’t bring herself to bother anyone at the castle; Phe had too much on her plate. Their Guardian Atticus, was dealing with things off his own. And Han...well he didn’t live at the castle, and Artemis knew he had sleep issues, that he was battling too. He didn’t need her own problems on top of that.

Shifting around. She was clearly unsettled. Before sitting up. Artemis had decided to go for a late night walk. Maybe, that could ease her mind and tire her out. As she slid out of bed; the Celestial quickly got herself dressed into warm clothes and her boots. It probably wasn’t wise heading out of the castle, late at night. But; the Celestial was that sleep deprived; that she didn’t even see the time. If a late night walk; would exhaust her enough to fall asleep. Then she’d take it. Maybe fresh air; could clear her mind and thoughts; just once.

Being as quiet as she possibly could be; Artemis left the Celestial castle; careful not to wake anyone up. With her keys in her hands; she carefully and silently let herself out; locking the door behind her. Before she began to walk away from the castle. Where was she going? Artemis had no idea. Her boots crunching against the snow. Hugging her coat around her. She wandered aimlessly around the neighbourhood. Before her feet took her in another direction. The walk was long. And whilst a lot of people would have considered, walking around the streets at this hour; dangerous. It slipped her mind. A lot of things did in that moment. Everything felt heavy; maybe it was the cold...or her sleep deprivation. It was just closing on 3.30am when she found herself at very familiar doorsteps. The Celestial, had ended up outside of Ridley’s Apartment. Reaching up. Her fingers pressed at the doorbell.

Despite it being a dream; it felt just as real; as it did the first time that Artemis endured the set of bizarre happenings. To her, it was just as bad as having to endure it in person. The reminders in front of her.

As Ridley cast her light spell; it offered them guidance for a short amount of time; before it seemed to get snuffed out. With the darkness of her memories and in her dreams; it snuffed the light out, like the wind. Everything is going dark, around them once more. But she was very aware of Ridley there, trying to coax her into breathing calmly. As if to ease her panic...but Artemis knew what darkness was lurking waiting for her. She couldn’t be calm. Even though she never caught a glimpse of the Dark Diviner; that was playing mind tricks on her. He was there...somewhere….hidden. Even in her dream world….he was hiding.

“We shouldn’t be here..” Artemis panicked. Why did Ridley make her do this? The event that haunted her mind, made her feel weak. Even though she was stronger; than she gave herself credit for. She just didn’t feel like it, at the moment.

Everything around them was suddenly moving quick. The memories of that entire night, flashing before her very own eyes, as usual. It was practically making her head spin. Feeling, like she was falling into an oblivion of darkness and memories. “Not alone...not alone.” Artemitra tried to repeat to herself, but it was no use. As the Celestial soon found herself in that fateful room; in that abandoned hut; where she almost lost her life, thanks to the poison.

“No...no...no!” the Celestial panicked. Trying to run to the door. But she was trapped. There was no door, in her dream. Banging at the wall, in effort to try and get out.

The Celestial was sweating in her sleep, tossing uncomfortably in her sleep. Her breathing more quicker and panicked; even in her sleep. Artemis wanted to wake up, to get away from the abandoned hut and the memories/flashbacks in her nightmares...but the spell kept her under.

Ridley’s heart felt sick as she watched someone, she loved so dearly going through something that she herself wasn’t able to stop her from spiraling. Ridley laced her fingers with Artemitra’s and squeezed tight, trying her best to keep her friend ground. “We are in your mind, your dream world, think of someone who makes you feel safe.” She suggested, as things began to spin Ridley did her best to fight off the sick feeling of dizziness and suddenly, they were in a cabin.

Ridley let go of Mitra’s hand casting a stronger spell to light the room to look around and examine everything within the room. The more Magic Ridley used the weaker she would feel, but she was about to let this thing keep doing this to her best friend and that is what kept Ridley going even in the face of all this darkness.

Mitrie, it’s okay I'm here, it’s me Ridley.” She moved over to her friend and wrapped her in a hug. “It will be okay you are safe it’s a memory, a nightmare.” She whispered. Ridley felt the bottomless sickening feeling in her stomach as she hugged her friend, Ridley could feel the hairs on her body standing on end; Something or someone was watching them.

“You won’t have her, she is stronger than you give her credit she will get through this, she will come out on top and stronger than before,” Ridley yelled out to the unknown entity. Whispering to Mitra “Phoenix, think of him.” Ridley knew how much the pair cared for each other and maybe thinking of him being here would help her calm down some.

It seemed like all they needed to do was get out of this room, maybe if they could figure that out maybe it would break the loop.

The more she tossed about on her bed, the more their interlocked hands started to loosen. Without meaning to, Artemitra was kicking Ridley out of her dream-world.

No matter how much Ridley tried to make the room brighter, to make them both feel secure. Artemis could feel the impending darkness; that still lingered. Fighting the good. Fighting them...the darkness that was scaring her.  The hug brought her a little reassurance, that her close friend was still there, to help her get through this...whatever would happen next, she had no idea. Feeling slightly grounded, for a few seconds. But it wasn’t enough.

“It’s real….real..” Panic was setting in again. Artemitra had lived through the reality of this once. And the nightmares always felt so real. Bringing the tragic moments back to her.

Suddenly, something went wrong. The connection in the real world was broken. And Artemitra found herself very much alone in her own nightmare. Trying to hold onto Ridley’s words. “Ridley?” she called out. But not seeing her friend near her, any longer. “Ridley?!” she called out again, panicked, when there was no answer.

Feeling the darkness trying to wrap around her again. Still trapped in the small room; where she first drunk the poison, that almost claimed her life. She could hear the voice in her head, telling her to drink it again.

“Nooo!” she yelled out...even if no one could hear her. ‘You won’t make me.’ She thought to himself. Trying to think about Phoenix, and all the people she loved, including her close friends. The star started to shine, her Celestial light fighting off whomever was taunting and tormenting her. “I am stronger….I can get through this.” she muttered to herself, anything to keep herself grounded. Trying to break through her panic attack.

A shadow figure leaped out at her for disobeying and not drinking the poison, through her light; making her scream out. Her light wrapping around the figure….seeing the figure dissipate in front of her.

Somehow stirring herself awake. Letting out a scream..sweat was running down her forehead and the back of her neck. Without meaning to...a ball of her light, shot out of her hand and past the other people in the room. Trying to catch her breath...Artemis didn’t realise that she was back to reality somehow. Shaking.
