The sun sneakily worked its way through the curtains of a sleepy room, it brightened up the space to make it look less dreary; however, as it did so, it also woke the Diviner up from his rather enjoyable slumber. It was an automatic response for him to grumble as he woke, to say he was not a morning person was certainly an understatement; and more often than not, he considered changing the opening hours of his shop so it could coincide with his body clock which was very much a night owl. Yet, Abraham also worried that if he did that, he would not have as many customers as many preferred to be in the safety and the warmth of their home late and night; and in a city like this, he couldn't say he blamed them - the darkness always enticed the most troubled creatures, much like himself. Thus, despite not enjoying the working hours, each morning, Abraham managed to function somehow to get his shop opened in time; after all, he needed the income and although his parents loved him dearly, he couldn't keep relying on them to provide for him. He was nearing the age of 40 years old and relying on his parents in such a way would be highly embarrassing for him if others were to find out; yet he knew his Mother would love to have her baby boy ask for her help, whereas his Father would only retaliate with an iron fist.

Although, today, Abraham certainly had a reason to wake up as for later that evening he had been invited to attend a ball of some sorts at The Ailward Manor; since he arrived in the city, he had heard many things about this family - some good, and some bad but of course, he was more concerned and interested in the bad things they had done. Thus, when the invite got pushed through the letterbox of his shop, he was very much surprised - surely he wasn't known to them for it to be a personalised invite; nevertheless, he was not going to question the invite, sadly he could not remember the last time he got invited to a party. That itself was depressing but he understood - he wasn't exactly a person people felt comfortable to approach or choose to hang out with; it had always been that way since High School when the children found out what his family did for a living. To speak with the dead and to communicate with other non earthly creatures frightened some whilst others found then incredibly strange, simply because they did not understand something that science could not prove; saying that though, his family still hadn't yet figured out away to speak with the dead, currently it was all a scam but Abraham hoped that he would soon crack the code.

The day consisted of Abraham watching the clock, there were two Ailwards he was fascinated by - Darkness and Death. He had heard many things but he was occupied by the many dark artefacts that the Aspect of Darkness has collected throughout time; and the possibility of being able to steal a couple of things. The very thought excited him so time went considerably slow despite the buzz of customers and readings he had to do for the people of the city and those coming into town just to speak with their dead loved ones. Thus, for the first time in a very long time, Abraham closed up shop on time with a spring in his step as he rushed home to begin his preparation for the ball. He stared at the mirror for a good long while, he wanted to make sure that everything was in place and that he looked dapper enough for security to let him through; Abraham even went as far as practicing his smile and a few speeches he would conduct this evening - and particularly how he would introduce himself to The Aspect of Darkness. "Mads, you got this" Abraham slapped himself on the cheek to snap him out of anxiety ridden brain to try and appear normal to other people before he grabbed his keys to jump in a taxi to the Manor. He bet he was the only one to attend this evening by appearing in a city taxi.

Travelling was something that she used to do often on more occasions than it is normal for one person. Ailwards always liked to leave the manor from time to time. To escape the growing feeling of being trapped. More reasons than one yet they always returned to each other in no time. With the loophole of being in pain or eventual death if not. Something she didn’t want to happen so Cora always made sure to come home. Always with different adventures too from her travels. One of the reasons why she travelled quite often was to get her hands on rare and valuable items. All that she could get and make use of. To create cursed objects was her own personal power. With each Aspect having their own set powers with Darkness being hers. Back to the time when she used to go on meetings with other Aspects her powers used to come in handy. To be one step ahead and take out any apoment that seems fit. Nowadays instead of travelling Cora tried to help other Instar Diviners to control their powers so they never have to put or find themselves in the same sort of situations that she once found herself in. Gabriel was one of the people who both her and Malva had helped. More so now taking him under their wing with Vladimir’s passing some took it harder than others. Cora wanted to make sure he wasn’t swallowed up in it all.

Knowing too well what it was like to hold in all their feelings and emotions up. Until it all came bubbling up to the surface all at once. They always did say Necromancers were unhinged that bad thing was to happen they’d be set all. Hell would break loose. That what it was like for her in her past life. A broken person who nearly killed her own people because she wasn’t stable. Cora didn’t want that to happen to Gabriel and others. Tonight for some reason there was a ball event being held in the manor. Something her siblings liked to do that from time to time. Showing off almost keeping their name as the superior family. Cora was never sure why they do it but always found herself being forced to go to their events. Not being able to get out of it as it was literally in her own home. Socialling was never one of her favorite things to do. Never has and never will. Cora was one of those people who enjoyed her own company rather than to have the company of others. Only letting a few people in. Part of it was in fear almost. Fearing herself and the darkness that comes with it. Yet her experiences and thoughts still troubles her even now. Preferring to keep hurled up in her rooms saying it would be best for her not to mingle and socialise yet each time she found she was dragged out.

Cora decided not to go all out for the ball. She wasn't one of those people who liked to wear massive flowing ball gowns. Prefering to go the more modern route of wearing a long red dress that hugged her curves with a slit at the side. Paired with high heels, her makeup kept more toned down and straightened her hair. Nothing too special since she wasn't planning to be there for too long. Just enough to show her face and not get moaned at for not attending. When she was ready the Aspect of Darkness made her way down the grand staircase, making her grand entrance. Taking her position at the side of the room, swiping a glass of champagne from one of the waiters walking around. Sipping her glass of champagne whilst her eyes darted around the room seeing if anyone caught her eye. People watching, to see if anyone was plotting against you.

Throughout the taxi ride to the Manor, Abraham had to continue to reassure himself that attending this party would be a great thing and could open up many different possibilities for him; not only would he get the chance to witness some truly magical dark artefacts, but he could also make important business relationships. These relationships could help me solve the mystery of what stopped the living world connecting with the dead; yet he couldn’t help but wonder - if it was possible to speak with the dead, how come the Ailwards had not yet cracked it? Maybe because they didn’t want to? He highly doubted that considering how one was associated with the death of people. Abe shook his head, there was no need in overthinking this - as he assumed it would probably be a good thing that the Aspects could not, because when the code was cracked, he would get all the recognition for it. He would rise in the ranks of the Diviner species and be a well known face of his own, rather than constantly being known by what his family had achieved previously.

Eventually, the taxi pulled up at the front gates of the Manor where other, more expensive cars were dropping off their guests; he couldn’t help but think that the cab driver was laughing at him - or at least thinking that he didn’t belong. Abe bit his tongue and pulled out a few dollars from his blazer pocket, thanked him and stepped out in the cool night; the sound of laughter and music had already filled his ears as he revealed his ticket to the Guards and Security who manned the gates. In fact, he even got patted down to make sure that he was not carrying any sharp objects; with such royalty they couldn’t take any chances. “Cheers” He muttered under his breath as he finally walked up and through the main door only to be escorted to the grand hall where many people were already socialising. Just the essence of faking happy with these people made him shudder; even if he enjoyed being amongst people, these certainly would not be the people he would choose.

Without having to go to the bar, a waiter came round with many glasses of champagne which Abraham took eagerly; he wasn’t much of a drinker normally, but he felt this would help ease him into the situation - after all, he was planning on stealing from them, if he found the correct room. His gaze moved around the room; his first plan was to make himself known to The Aspect of Darkness, pick her brains a little and see if she stood up to the title which was bestowed to her. Abe had a rough idea of what she looked like after googling her before leaving his apartment; and from what he had learnt, she would probably only show her face for the briefest amount of time so he had to make it quick. A low hum vibrated from his lips until his eyes soon full upon a somewhat familiar face; it had to be her, he could just tell by the way she held herself. He downed the rest of his champagne, popped the glass down upon the table closest to him and forced himself to do something that he absolutely hated; approaching people. “You must be Cora?” Abraham commented as he leaned his back against the bar, it was strange pretending to be someone with confidence. “For someone who is one of the hosts of the party, you don’t look like you’re having a good time” He mused, already feeling eyes upon him as he spoke to her.
