Some people found it easy to just throw in the towel. To give up and never give things a second glance. As Svetlana sat on the edge of her bed crippled by heartbreak, she stared down to the red piece of jewelry that Zephyr had granted her; it was a way for him to always know she was safe. What was the point? She thought silently, unable to move from where she sat, only shedding one tear after the next. After living her entire life on the run, Zephyr became the closest thing to normal she'd ever gotten; he kept her sane, and balanced. But now? She just didn't have it in her to acknowledge that he'd left her, yet again.  This time the heartbreak had turned into utter rage though, pure hatred. Fool her once, shame on you.. but twice? She'd been in this shame spiral all evening, and she knew she was coming undone. There had to be somewhere she could go.. some place she could find some solace. After forming a pill habit, she didn't assume things could get much worse than that.

Thinking of what she would even do with herself now that there was no him completely terrified her. He had been the very one to make her push forward all this time, helping her understand that she was worth more than just giving up what she had built for herself, to be the very one who had given up on her himself though, was just something she never saw coming. Life had a way of knocking Svetlana ten feet backwards every time she got a little comfortable with living. Maybe she was better off dead. The rogues hadn't succeeded in that yet, but she didn't have any fight left in her. This time he had broken her down .. what was left of her anyways. She'd been broken when he met her, and took no time in mending the pieces back together.. only to shatter her completely it seemed.

Swallowing harshly, the Nephilim stood shakily. After washing away the tears and stained makeup in a steaming how shower, Svetlana got dressed and put the red crystal that linked her to Zephyr in her safe. She didn't need him to know she was safe anymore. He didn't seem to care anyhow. She wasn't sure how she'd let go this time, she didn't want to.. she shouldn't have to. Shaking her head, still crying, the Nephilim departed her and Zeph's apartment, she didn't wanna be there.. to many memories. Walking into a bar about twenty minutes after speeding away on her Ducati, Svet glanced around; her eyes swollen from all the tears she had spilled, and her features as broken as her heart. Taking a seat at the bar, the Nephilim looked around, spotting no one familiar, or no one that seemed dangerous she ordered her first round.

Shot after shot, she was finally numb. Numb enough to smile for the first time tonight. A masculine male sat down next to her, sliding her a drink along with his number written on a napkin "You shouldn't cry. You're way too beautiful". Svetlana didn't mean to, but she broke out into laugter, to the point of not being able to breathe. "Sorry sorry.. you just have no idea" she stated, shaking her head before breathing out harshly and gulping down the drink he passed her. After standing, she staggered into his lap, he happily opened his arms like the hungry peasant he was. Svetlana still had enough sense about her to know she needed to leave. Staggering her way out of the bar, she hit her knees, placing her palms against her knee caps, letting her head droop as she sobbed a little more.

"Ive survived so much worse, why does it hurt so much..." she asked herself, in the form of a whisper. After a few passerby's offered her some help though, she once more stood, and began staggering her way down the street. It'd been quite some time since she got herself drunk as it took more due to her supernatural status; but she'd never been this drunk in her life. As she made her way down an alley-way, Svet's senses were out the window; trashed. But, she certainly wasn't tripping when she felt someone yank her out of the alley and into the road. "What the hell?!" she shouted, coming face to face with someone she'd never seen before. Shoving against his chest, the Nephilim's eyes raged their bright purple before she readied herself to do what she needed to, she figured he was another rogue who had found her.

"As much as i'd like to just end my misery, It won't be like this!" she shouted at him angrily, oblivious that he had only just saved her from someone lurking behind her in that alley.

Svetlana grimaced as he spoke again, this time a little more arrogantly, not that he didn't have the right to. "Oh i'm sorry, I guess I was supposed to thank you for scaring the life out of me. Why did you do that?!" she yelled at him again, giving him another shove against his chest before backing up and inhaling. After closing her eyes, Svet shook her head trying to control herself.

Through gritted teeth, the Nephilim stared daggers through him while being tempted to reach into her boot and grab the daggers she had never left home without. It's the one thing Zephyr had given her, that she'd never part with. She of course hadn't parted with the red crystal he had given her either that linked her to him, it's just that now she didn't have the heart to wear it. The daggers were a form of defense and protection, so she didn't mind having them on her.

As he spoke again, Svet began to pace, paranoia wrapping around her like an overly tight sweater.. suffocating her almost. She had the feeling that this guys intentions were to harm her. She didn't see anyone when he said he'd saved her life. So to her, the only logical explanation was that he was in on the plot to end her life. "Trust me, I never said that I wanted to END MY LIFE" she expressed in a loud, over dramtic tone. "I just don't know what you mean when you say you saved my life just now, what am I missing here?" she questioned, trying to soften her tone as well as her features.

Swallowing harshly as she realized what he'd said, the Nephilim clamed up. She was broken.. she had been mistreated. It appeared that her hero could see right through her. "What would you know about it? being broken and mistreated" she then said, droppin her head and grimacing as she stared at the ground below her.

Svetlana knew she'd struck a nerve with the male. And up until he finally explained why he'd snatched her away like he had, she had been pretty convinced that he was trying to harm her. But, after taking a couple deep breaths and calming herself, the Nephilim was able to listen to reason and hear him out. "Someone was following me?" she questioned, swallowing harshly at that realization. "I didn't even realize.. but " she trailed off, stopping mid sentence as "why did you help me?" she questioned curiously, frowning at him, her whole persona changing in the blink of an eye.

"I'm sorry then.." she said, embarrassed by how enraged she'd acted towards this male who had just literally saved her life. "I wish I could explain, but it would take us all night" she added, shaking her head. His next set of words, made the hairs on Svetlana's neck, stand at attention; she practically shuddered .."It has to be one of the rogues.." she said out loud, absent mindedly, but shrugging away the fact that she had just blurted that out. Grimacing as she looked to the ground, the Nephilim sighed. "I'm just so sick and tired of running. I'm not going to call you a liar, okay?" she expressed, trying to pull herself together and dry the tears before looking at him again.

"Thank you for saving my life. But now it may not even be safe for you to be out here around me.. I wish you'd just let me be" she  said once more , still full of doom, and sounding as ungrateful as she had acted the moment she started shoving him, but it's not that she wanted to die, or that she was ungrateful, she just hated dragging people into her war. This would be the story of her life, until she drew her last breath, and she'd be drawing that last breath soon if the rogues had anything to do with it. They had complete control over her now, anywhere she went, they knew ahead of time. Svet would have given anything for her freedom. She still couldn't believe that the only way they'd let her see peace, and leave the people alone that she looved, was for her to wear a device, spelled to track her. Now, not much mattered to the broken Nephilim.. she didn't have much left .. nor did she have it in her to keep running and living in the shadow.

Svet shook like a leaf, but she listened to him talk intently. She could tell he was just as broken as her, and she hated it. She hated to know anyone suffered the way she had, though everyone suffered differently, not many knew what it was like to suffer how she did, but maybe this guy knew all about it. "I'm sorry..sounds like you've had a real shitty go of things. But, if we are to continue this conversation,, can we do it some place a little safer? The person you saw trying to harm me, was likely a rogue.. I'll explain later, but since he saw you, it may have just put a target on your back" she said dreadfully.

The last thing the male had said, made her breathe heavily, but she chuckled, finding it amusing that he'd quite literally nailed her exact situation "If you only knew" she said in response, giving him a look before scanning their surroundings. "We can go to my place, or yours.. not sure which would be best, but what I do know is that we need to leave .. like yesterday" she hoped by saying yesterday, that she was driving her point home.

As her features softened to him; Svetlana listened to what the male had to say intently. She could tell he had came from the typpe of past that typically left emotional scars and damage on a person, which only made her frown. Her eyes no longer glowed a bright purple, as she no longer felt threatened by him. Her chocolate gaze settled on his own dark optics "You used to kill people?" she asked bluntly, wide eyed at how blunt she could be sometimes "Sorry.. that came out much faster than my brain could process" she stated, shaking her head, almost amused by her very own actions.

"I understand what that's like.. not wanting people to die in your presence.. I guess we share that in common; ive seen my fair share of death" she expressed, grimacing slightly as she looked to the ground. Svet looked back up at him, nodding "Something like that.. It's definitely too long of a story to say it all right here.. I don't think we're safe out here right now" she admitted, before following up on his second question, which made her chuckle "I was never in a gang. Sadly this all started because of my father, and the work he was doing. They used me as bait back in the past, to lure my father in and kill him.." she admitted, and there it was.. that smell of his burning flesh causing the Nephilim to get a little choked up, and distraught.

Svet glared at him then, as he demanded an answer, as to who they were. "It's a bunch of rogues.. deadly rogues who will have a person dead in the blink of an eye if they want.. like i said, it all started with my father, and his dedication to the Nephilim's. He wanted to keep them safe and that mattered so much to him, that he ended up getting burnt alive for it.. right in front of me, after a group of species consisting of Phoenix's, Shape Shifters, Therians, and Valkyr captured and tortured me from age 15, to age 18.. so three years .. that's how long it took them to find my father. and that's how long I endured torture of several different forms. When I watched them throw his burnt corpse at my feet, where I was chained to a stone slab, my powers activated, and I killed an entire organization of rogue species single handedly.. they reformed, and now they're here to finish what they started with me."  she explained, gritting her teeth through every spoken word.

"Does that answer your question?" she asked, and peeled her gaze off of him. Svet hated when people demanded answers, but.. he had saved her life, she was so suck of people having to save her however, perhaps that's why it seemed she didn't have much gratitude for those who saved her. Dominic.. her best friend, he'd been through the ringers keeping her alive.. she didn't wanna see anyone else go through that.. ever again. She'd never be okay after all her and Dom had faced together. Cocking a brow, Svetlana chuckled; hearing himm say 'look here lady'. "That's pretty obvious handsome" she said in a playful manner, as he expressed in exact words 'i am a man you know'. Something about him made Svetlana feel a little light hearted, like she could laugh about some of the things he said and not be rude about it. He also had ways about him, that made her feel as though he'd be the type of person shed always have around as a friend.. someone to have her back, and someone she could be there for as well.

The Russian Nephilim could only frown as he suggested a place in the mountain's that no one kenw about, she could tell right away he was to weary of her to take her any where near his own home, out of fear that the rogues may end up targeting him for saving her. She couldn't blame him, but it did suck that no matter who she met or where she went, Svetlana lived in the shadows. The club that she owned with Dom, was the only place she had ever knew any normality .. and for that, she could only give her gratitude to the Therian. "Fine, we'll go there.. and then ill explain more" she stated, and began walking alongside the male, as he led them into the mountains. Glancing over at him during the walk, Svet smirked "So hero, what brought you out tonight? if you hadn't came out, i'd likely be dead" she stated, wondering why she'd gotten lucky enough for this male to be where he was, when he was.

Svetlana cocked a brow at him, arms folded, and her tongue poking the inside of her cheek; one of few pet peeves she had to display annoyance. "Well, it matters because if you're some kind of derranged psycho killer, then it would be nice to know first hand" she expressed, but laughed immediately after realizing how that sounded coming out of her mouth. "Sorry. I tend to not think shit through before I say it" the Russian Nephilim said in defense. Andrew didn't seem like someone who'd harm her though, so Svet would allow herself to go with the flow as far as he was concerned.

"Trust me, I understand what it's like to live a life where you're never safe" she then said. Tears had began to pool up in her eyes once more, when the male asked if she and her father were close. "The sad part of that is.. it was the first time I had even seen my father .. the day I met him, was the day he was burnt alive in front of me.. and I" she struggled to continue over the lump of pain that had formed in her throat., "And I just wished I could have gone back in time, just to tell him he didn't do anything wrong.. he dedicated his life to the Russian military, a branch specifically to protect Nephilim's, and died a hero.. but I never even got to hug my father before he died in front of me." she explained, shedding endless tears, but unphased by the fac.

Typically Svet didn't allow herself to cry in front of people, but when it came to her father, she simply couldn't restrain herself from the waterworks. Svet saw the look of confusion on his face after she had tried explaining that she'd killed them all. "The compound they kept me captive in, consisted of tons of them.. all different species, from shape shifters, to Therian's, to Phoenix's.. I managed to kill all but a few of them. The ones who managed to get away ended up rebuilding a new organization of rogues. This time, much faster, much smarter and much more violent." she stated, eyeing the male in front of her, her own eyes full of fear. She'd never spent a moment of her freedom without fearing for her life, and what may be around the corner waiting for her. "It sucks to live every second of every day thinking it might be your last. I just wanna do something crazy.. something fun, ya know?" she asked, hoping he'd understand.

Svet nodded at Andrew in appreciation. It seemed like he truly did know what to do in situations like these, which only made her feel kind of sad or him. No one should be an expert on knowing how to flee danger, because that only meant a person had been in enough danger to become used to it. "Thank you for having my back.. the favor will be returned, if ever you need it" she said appreciatively. "Well, let's get there then, perhaps when we're some place safer, you can share your story with me. I can be a good listener. I always have tons to say, but sometimes it's nice to listen to others and take a break from my own traumatic life" she chuckled, but really, she needed to hear someone else's story, to feel a little less alone in a world so cold.

As they neared the destination Andrrew had in mind, Svetlana gave a side glance, listening intently as he spoke of his siblings being more adaptable than he. "That's understandable, sometimes it takes some of us longer to get used to big changes. Did you find anything worth your time before you ran into me?" she asked, feeling slightly guilty that she had interrupted his night out in the city, while he searched for a purpose. "Sorry I ruined it for you.. maybe I can make it up to you, when things have calmed down, and when it's day light out here, and much more safer, we can walk around and finish your tour of seeing what the city has to offer. Ive not gotten to do that myself yet.. Ive only ever had one man in my life to protect me. But, he has his own life to live, so I can't depend on him to be here for everything.. even if I wish he could" she frowned, thinking about a certain Therian.

Dominic had been the best thing in her life, and she'd never let all the things he'd done for her, go unnoticed, and truth be told, she wished she could be around him every second of every day. "But, maybe since hes not here, and you are, you could keep me company" she stated, bitting her lower lip. "So, what is this place?" Svetlana asked, as her dark optics locked on the building in front of them. "It's nice" she added, hoping like hell he had alcohol inside.

The way he chuckled, made Svetlana's glare turn a little more icier and narrowed in on him. But, as she listened intently, the Nephilim frowned. "I can't imagine what it must have felt like to be assigned to kill your very own flesh and blood" she expressed sincerely, and while she had been through so much herself, she couldn't relate on that, and knew it had to be hard to put behind him. "Indeed. It's not like you'll allow your past to define you after all. So saying 'use to' sounds a lot better" she gave a nod, and a sincere smile. "I can sense that about you, not blaming people for anything, but you know.. that can be a downfall in life. You have to hold accountable those who have wronged you" she expressed, knowing to well what it was like to have a soft heart, and it be the very reason you get left behind, in your own past.

Frowning, with eyes full of tears, she sighed softly, shaking her head. When Andrew briefly explained his mothr, the Nephilim grabbed his hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. "I'm sorry she did tha to you Drew. Sounds like she missed out on an amazing son, because you seemingly turned out pretty great, even in spite of your past trauma" she gave a genuine smile, and bit her lower lip. Andrew's compliments did lift her spirit even if it was only a little, he had managed to relieve some of the hurt she was feeling by sauying her father had died a hero. "Thank you for saying that. I try my best to keep his memory alive, but it's been so hard. I barely got to see him, and I was captured at age 14, and held in that compound until I was 18, which as when they finally found him and drug him into the room I was chained up in, burning him alive right before my very eyes" she swallowed harshly, unable to keep eye contact.

"The smell of his flesh.. I" her voice cracked, and she'd tried her best to swallow the lump that had formed in her throat "It enabled my powers, and when tht happened, I broke free of chains that had held me prisoner for four years, killing every person in my wake, leaving countless bodies trailed behind me, all except for a few, and those few are back to finish what they started" she had a wicked glimmer in her eyes, a dark expression, one that screamed she was dangerous and unstable. The same expression she had held all those years ago, when the only craving she had, was shedding their blood.

The holidays were near, and Winter had made its harsh approach. Svetlana's eyes twinked to the sight of Christmas lights, knowing she'd never be able to celebrate because of how crippled she still was for the loss of her father. But, meeting the new people that she had, and having Dom, maybe she had finally gained enough reason to start looking forward to the holidays at least. "Thank you. Be careful though.. you're starting to sound like you care about me" the angel-child flashed a playful wink in his direction, before going into the cabin with him, appreciating the warmth that radiated from the fire place. "I will call on you next time. You seem to be a good vhoce anyways, considerin the kind of work you used to do." she added, before walking over to a cupboard full of alcohol, pulling a bottle of Rum out and pouring two glasses, before wandering back over to sit on a couch and pulling the cover on it, around her athletic frame.

"So, what do you do for work now that you've stopped contract kills?" she asked curiously before taking a sip of her drink. Svet looked to the floor and sighed. This had been one long night, and now she was stuck in this cabin with someone she may end up losing due to the fact he had protected her, and she knew if she'd lost one more soul because of her past, she'd literally break in half.

The male before her was damaged, that much Svetlana could see. She felt like in more ways than a few, that she knew him him and could relate to him. Something about  Andrew lifted her spirits. He spoke calmly, but bluntly, and she supposed that's what kind of conversation she needed. "I'm sorry Drew, I can't imagine how it must still effect you knowing you could have been the very person to end your very own sisters life. But, she's with you now, and that's all that matters.. that you're all three safe"  Svet smiled faintly. She couldn't relate where it came to the love of a sibling, because she didn't have any family, and the only one she ever knew, which was her father, had died a very gruesome death in front of her.

It was hard for Svetlana to place any attachments on people, but Andrew was growing on her, and she damn sure couldn't stop thinking about Thaddeus even if she tried. "It's always easier to blame a tragic lifestyle on others, but I agree. If we don't blame ourselves, we will never grow from the mistakes we make and we'll never learn to do better" while Svetlana hadn't made the decisions to bring the life she lived upon herself, she had taken full responsibility of the choices she made here and now.

A shiver coursed Svetlana's spine when she grabbed Andrew's wrist, her eyes widening at how cold his skin actually was. She couldn't help but look at him in confusion "Is the cold part of what you are?" she asked, not knowing much about his species. Svetlana smiled as he thanked her, "No need, I say it like I see it. It's hard being the perfect child i'd imagine" she shrugged, she had been the only child ever, so she didn't need what it meant to have siblings, where one was singled out among the rest of them. But, in so many other ways, she connected to Andrew, and understood him while the rest of the world probably didn't.

Svet frowned when Andrew mentioned her father, she appreciated his condolonces and respect towards her father though. "I just wish he hadn't given his last breath to be a protector of sorts. I wish I could have saved him. Watching him die, activated my Nephilim side.. why didn't it activate during the four years that those bastards tortured me and held me hostage to lure him in?" she asked, knowing Andrew wouldn't have the answer, but it felt better to ask it out loud than to keep it bottled up until she snapped.

She could see a little bit of doubt and fear in Andrew's eyes when he said he feared that this wasn't the last of the rogues who hunted Svetlana. "I know you're right. I am always waiting for them to pop around the corner and end my life ... I just don't want anything to happen to anyone else because of me" she stated, giving a subtle hint hat she wouldn't want not even Andrew to be crossed up in this mess with her and the rogues. Svet grinned when he said his sister reminded him of Svetlana. "I hope that's a good thing" she quipped, and took a large swig out of the glass she filled to the rim with alcohol. Svet never could turn down a good bottle of whiskey. It always dulled the pain of her reality, and with the way she felt tonight, as if somehting bad was out there waiting for her and Andrew, she figured a little alcohol to help calm her nerves, wouldn't hurt.

"Try me" she smirked, when he said that she wouldn't have believed him if he had told her how long. Svet smiled ffaintly when he spoke of not having  a job, "I'm sure you'll have one in no time. I mean, we could always use more security at Sinister Sounds. The club I co-own with my best friend, Dominic" she expressed, smiling as the Therian's face ran through her mind. She missed Dom to no ends, and it was beginning to drive the Nephilim a little crazy wondering when they would get back on track. She had hurt him the last time they'd been together, and not even by her own choice. But now she couldn't help but wonder if he was maybe just taking a break from Svet's crazy and hectic world.

"So Andrew, whats some of your hobbies now?" she asked, figuring he had changed his life around quite drastically, since he didn't do the whole contract killing anymore. It as immediately after that, that she'd heard a loud thud just outside the window, which made her jolt from the spot she sat in. "Something's out there.. do you think they've followed us?" the Nephilim asked, ready to fight if she needed to. She wouldn't allow one more person to get hurt on her behalf.

"Well, it's no wonder. I would be pretty unsure of myself too if I had lived the life you did. I'm sorry you went through so much, but im sure it didn't change the fact that your siblings love you" she said thoughtfully, and sighed as she reflected on how she had grew up never knowing her father, let alone a sibling, only to be held captive for four years and watch her father die the first time meeting him.

Svetlana gave a pointed look "I don't think ill ever be given that chance either way Andrew. Ive been out of that compound where they held me for years, and im still no better" she frowned, knowing the toll it'd taken on her mental state of mind. Svet had gotten herself established here in Evermore, and before Cornelia Bradford was killed, Svet was given a job in the government because of the pull Cornelia had. The woman had so much influence Svet didn't want for anything.

And, like any other normal day working. Svetlana had found a file that was constantly being accessed .. the one thing she never had found to this day, was her presence. That was the one thing that had been wiped off of the video footage for whatever reason, and she felt that it might be some secret organization either protecting her, or plotting her demise and forming a plan with the rogues. What if they were using these rogues as their robots or something? So many light bulbs had began to go off all at once for Svet, she couldn't help but blurt out some of the things she was thinking "Sorry, give me one secnd" Svetlana then texted Dominic, she wanted to tell him her thoughts, but more than that, she just wanted to see her favorite Therian. After she had psychically hurt him, she hadn't slept right ever since.

Svetlana huffed at the male, especially when he asked if she was human, and averted her gaze to him, showing him the purple glow in her eyes for a split second to confirm she wasn't human at all. Svet also knew the risks of blurting out what species you are, so she had gotten used to flashing her glowing eyes at pople as a way of identifying herself as a Nephilim when she needed to. "That's so weird.. I mean, it's a dumb question, but do you freeze ever?' she couldn't help but wonder. Skin as cold as his likely made an entire bedroom cold, she chuckled to think he probably froze the fuck out of his partners in bed.

"Are you okay with who you are? Cause if you are, then I say fuck what everyone else expects of you" she smiled, because that was her truest thought so far. The world was dark enough without the onions of everyone else pulling you down. "It's nice that you understand, but it sucks to hear that you went through that alone.. it's unfair to bring children into a world like this one, and then just shove them aside when it's time to deal with the truth. I don't know where my mother is .. she could be alive for all I know, but, she wasn't there when i needed her most, not when they tortured me for four years, and not when i escaped on my own, and built a life for myself, and she's certainly not here to help me with the rogues who are hunting me now, so if she is alive by some small miracle, then screw her" the Russian mouthed off, using her hands to make small hand gestures as she vented and sighed softly.

"The Nephilim hung her head low to hear Andrew say that protecting her, just added him to her messy life. "Well, if you're going to be part of it, then you should know everything. But, we have nothing but time." she chuckled and shrugged some as she listened t him talk about his sister again. When he said his sister would have said the same thing Svet did, the Russian Nephilim smirked "Sounds like I might be your sister from another mister"" she winked playfully, but truthfully, Svetlana wouldn't mind claiming someone as her brother, someone who would protect her and be loyal to her. Maybe Andrew would end up filling that void in her life after all.

Svetlana frowned, "Im sorry you don't have many memories with them, but you can build new ones. The three of you have now .. and now is all that matters"  Svetlana listened more though, she couldn't imagine how hard it would be to have siblings and have to leave them for the sake of your own parent hating what you were. "I guess after hearing your story, I'm happy that I don't have siblings to be attached too" and that was true. The more people Svet got close to, the more she lost, and it would be even worse should she have siblings out there somewhere that she'd just lose someday to her chaotic life.

The Nephilim couldn't help but chuckle a little when Andrew talked about the weather being harsh, her gaze drifting back to the door, hoping nothing bad happened tonight. Svet felt comfortable enough to lay her head on Andrew's shoulder, and before long she began giving in to the sleep she had missed out on every night until now. She felt safe with him beside of her, and hoped he could get comfortable enough to stay the night.
