PERSONALITY:  Adam is an ambivert. While he is reserved in nature, he also enjoys the company of his friends. He tends to be surrounded by a large group of people. Adam deals poorly with stress and is truly stubborn, especially when it comes to depending on other people for the things that he needs, both emotional and physical. While others find him stoic at first, once he warms up to people, he is humorous and loyal.

BIOGRAPHY

It has long been told in night sky legend that wishing on a star will bring their days of glowing to a sharp, sudden end; however, everyone on earth knows nothing of the truth and only of the midas touch that can happen if the magical words of  “Starlight, starbright, first start I see tonight…” crosses the lips. Somewhere in the city of Farmington, New Mexico a little girl stared out a window on October 11th, 2016 and closed her eyes to wish her father healed. Adam Beaumont doesn’t remember the stars. He doesn’t remember flying among the beautiful lights of the night with the other members of the constellation Taurus, or his family, the fellow celestials of the star Pyxis. He never heard the tiny voice that bid him tumble from the sky. 

All that Adam remembers is white fog, red sand, and waking up locked in a restricted space. As he wandered the Mesa Verde park, new sensations of cold and hunger started to hit him. It was only two days later that he was found inside a hut, completely uncovered, and very afraid. The first eyes that he saw were dark brown and very curious. They were kind, but heavy. The young woman who discovered him was named Cornelia Bradford. His rough landing had carried him straight into an archeological dig in the middle of Mesa Verde National Park.

The next few hours provided him with clothing and a warm meal, which were necessities in his new form during the fall months of Colorado. The mountains were cold and Adam soon found that his fingers and toes had been covered in frostbite. His first few days in Evermore were spent in a fugue and it took him a while to get his bearings. Falling from miles above had left him with three broken ribs, a concussion, and complete memory loss. There was a total sense of absence when it came to knowing who he was or why he existed, but luckily, Cornelia was a detective and was able to contact the leader of a group of people known as the celestials.

Her name was Ophelia Dreyvelian and her people called her the wayfinder. Talking with her was the first time that some small semblance of normal began to click for Adam. He spent most of his hours during the first week in a quiet room, with shades on the windows, adjusting to the light. The biggest mystery of all was how the sun faded and at night the stars glowed all around him. He spent many hours in research about the city and began learning more about the history of his people from people like Aremitra, who were much older than he was -- people who remembered being imprisoned by the Ailwards and their guards. He didn’t understand the tension but the pain that they had experienced struck a chord with him. As he realized what had happened, a certain sense of loss and otherness began to settle into his being. He’d never be able to return to the sky and there were people in the city who had a strong dislike for his arrival.

However, as giant and intimidating as the earth seemed to Adam, he slowly began to acclimate to his new surroundings. One of his early favorite things began to be watching different humans cook on the television device. He would spend many hours observing before eventually becoming brave enough to try combining different ingredients himself. He began making friends in Evermore. He stayed in contact with Cornelia and they became fast friends. Whenever he could tell there was something heavy on her mind, Adam would bake her a chocolate mousse and it made him feel happy to see the trouble melt away with the sweet treats. She’d been kind to him and largely responsible for the fact that he hadn’t disappeared into the wilderness after he’d first fallen. Despite that it wasn’t intentional, Adam found himself falling for her smile and impetuous nature.

It was not easy when she disappeared. Her disappearance made him nearly alone in the city again. Despite that the Celestials were his family and nearly all of his time was spent with them, he had a unique bond with her and her death hardened his heart. He left Evermore for nine months in the hopes that perhaps she’d simply regretted their time together, but the news of her death was not surprising.

What was surprising was coming back and finding her alive. Adam did his best to avoid the emotions that this brought up. Especially with Cornelia having memory loss, he knew there was nothing between them anymore. Smiles at the supermarket became what he dealt with in that absence and while trying to cope with the guilt, the celestial distracted himself by beginning plans for a restaurant in the center of town. 

It was to be called Lux. Latin, for light.

He has struggled to find his place in the city, but when he feels the best when he is surrounded by people and making their days brighter through fine cuisine, wine, and a relief from the pains of the world. Adam still continues to study the sky and while the people he has met have made him a content person; he still longs for the stars.
