Alessia Bennett-Wells comes from a small bloodline of Nephilim in her family history. She was born on August 12th, 1994 to Cecilia Bennett and Nathaniel Wells in a small seaside village in England. Nathaniel was a human. In his whole existence as a mortal, he was unaware of any supernatural beings besides from what he heard from stories like urban legends that locals liked to tell or books he read. Cecilia, on the other hand, was quite aware of the pure light the world can hold. And what pure darkness it holds too. Cecilia was aware of her family story and how their bloodline and the Bennett family name would be cursed, generation after generation. The bloodline was pure and strong from the start until one of Cecilia’s ancestors had made an enemy. The enemy practiced magic so a curse was put on the family. The story of how that happened got mixed up over the years so the only thing that the Bennett family knows is that they’re cursed. They were cursed to die and the bloodline would weaken after each death. So, that’s what happened. The curse followed through with the family dying mostly from blades to the heart and even got turned into vampires.
Cecilia had moved from city to city, never staying one place for too long until she found a quaint village in England when she was the age of 25. With no more family connections besides the few that lived their immortality as vampires, she decided she was wanted nothing to do with the supernatural. She found that the small village didn’t have any trace of such beings so stayed there. Enjoying her calm life, pushing her uneasy fate to the back of her mind. That’s where she met a kind man named Nathaniel Wells. The two would soon fall in love and get married, ready to start a family with each other. He made the future look bright for the Nephilim and when she found out that she pregnant with a baby girl, she was thrilled. But also, terrified. She realized what fate she put her baby girl in and since she was a pure blood and Nathaniel was human, her child would be just like her. When Alessia came into the world, that’s where Cecilia could feel the timer start on her life.
Alessia remembers her mother’s love being a strong force along with her father’s when she thinks back on her childhood years. It was around the age of 7 that Alessia was just beginning to learn some fighting. They were simple moves, of course, because her strength was not formed just yet. Her mother was teaching her because she felt the time she had was borrowed. So, continued to teach Alessia how to protect herself and to fight. By the time Alessia was 16, she was quite handy when any kind of blade. Her reflexes were quick and keen, ready for any danger that she might come across. During her training, she knew of her Nephilim background, especially when her strength was stronger than most people her age. She found out how to use and control her powers during this time too all the while, her mother telling her to never expose herself especially the secret training is being kept from her father. There were times that Alessia did use them to help people that she could sense pain. Whether it be give them some relief from it mentally or heal them which she knew she shouldn’t have especially with the chance of exposing herself.
Things seemed to be going good for this family especially since Cecilia couldn’t feel any darkness the whole time she and Nathaniel raised Alessia. But when Alessia was seventeen, both Cecilia and her could feel something dark lurking. The people of the small village looked no different but the feeling was thick on their senses, tugging at them. It was one September night that the feeling was strong on Alessia. She headed home in a rush that night and when she walked through the already open door, she knew something wasn’t right. The first thing she could see was blood. A trail of it that smeared across the floor until it stopped where her father laid on the ground. She stood still, frozen in shock and fear. Tears well in her eyes and she rushed over to him, shaking him but his body was limp. It was then that she could hear another scream echoing through her house. Taking one last look at her father, swallowing the pain and fear that threatened to take over. She ran up the stairs to her parents’ room and it was there that she found the door cracked open. Her mother was there, flat on the bed while someone hovered over her. The being that stood over her had darkness surround over them. Alessia could see that darkness in them and she could see the glint of a blade in their hand as they raised it. Alessia was ready to fight, take all her training against them before catching her mother’s eyes. She shook her head a little as if to tell her to stay. Tears of anger and fear fell down her cheeks as she shook her head furiously. How could she just stand there and not do anything? She rushed through the door and tackled the being. She tried to grab the blade from their hand but this being was far too fast for a human. Her impulses would cost her something as heard a slice and a sharp pain in her abdomen. The being stabbed her, aiming for her heart. When she fell on her side, gripping the handle of the knife as she tried not to cry out in pain, she watched as the man pulled out another blade and this time in one quick swift, he stabbed her mother. Through her mother’s cries of pain, she could hear the man’s voice. Uttering words that would echo in Alessia’s mind even to this day. “You can’t escape it. It followed you and it will now follow her,” the malice in his rough voice is something Alessia remember as she dipped in and out of consciousness before everything went black.
She woke in her parents’ room, hoping that the thoughts that rushed through her mind was all something she created, a nightmare that didn’t happened but the pain around her ribs proved her wrong. She removed the blade that had just missed her heart by mere inches. She quickly stood up and saw the blade still in her mother’s chest. She went to remove the blade but she could tell that it would be no use. The vampire did not miss his target when it came to her mother and tears stung her eyes as the pain she would feel for years settled in her. Everything after that was a blur.
She went to move from city to city until moving to the States when she was 18. She could feel vengeance and anger in her heart along with the aching pain that she lost her family. She moved from state to state until she was about 20 years old. She heard about a place that was a haven for supernatural beings. It was called Evermore City in Colorado and she found a comforting aspect to the city. It was the first where she thought she would be safe from whatever thing might be following her. She didn’t know what it was but she could feel a darkness coming for her. She still wasn’t aware of the curse that was in her blood but she could feel something. She hoped that this haven would protect her. It was after the comet in 2015 that the thick black scars on her shoulder blades were starting to grow a shade lighter each day. They stayed that way for year until when she matured, they appeared. Her skin there felt like it was ripping apart but she knew what was happening. When the relief from pain came, she saw the feathers of pure white surround her and could feel the wings brushed along her back. Now there are thick white scars along her shoulder blades.
Now that 2 years have passed, she feels that Evermore might be the place where she is safe can find people that are like her.
