BIOGRAPHY
Much of Augusts heritage is unknown to him, apart from the fact he was born in Palma de Mallorca on a hot summers night to a Spanish mother, Lillie Ortega and a Swedish father Jessie Fenn. As a toddler it seemed like he was abandoned, forced to grow up in a hostile gladiatorial environment, militant in its rules but vicious in every other way. It was a training camp known on the streets as “Muerte Dividida” which took unclaimed children from poverty and the unruly orphanages, brutalising them under a strict regime without care for their innocence to become highly intelligent individuals, skilled in every aspect of Warfare.
From the inside August was taught about the world in its entirety, but never were he or any of his brothers and sisters allowed to experience it for themselves. As the young boy grew he knew something was different about him. He’d not turned 7 years of age more than a few days before a strange mark, burned into his swarthy skin unrecognisable to him. Yet even with the naivety of youthfulness he had the wisdom to conceal it. Afterall to be different in his world was to meet certain death.
As the months passed more peculiar things began to happen, when August would lose focus or become overly emotional, peculiar things would happen to anything with an electrical component, the lights around him would flicker, security cameras would cease to move, it was in this way he learned though accidents and risky experiments that he could easily manipulate anything Electric in form. At first he took pleasure in the playful side of it, playing pranks on the people around him or using his power to make his days and nights easier, like turning off his dorm light with only a click of his fingers. It was clear no one else could do this and that alone was enough to put a chilling fear into him. So he told no one and buried his abilities deep within himself, but always on his mind was the question, why was he different?
For the Father of the Organisation it was paramount his soldiers could be dropped into any country, any culture, any natural environment and not just survive but thrive among the locals going unnoticed. It was normal to pit brother against sister, friend against friend, to have a better life within the compound, one worth living it was learned quickly that the more rebellious and weak lives ended, the more valuable you were to his regime. This amongst other horrific tests, proved loyalty to Muerte Dividida.
As August grew so did his power, the years passed and another mark appeared expanding his control of his element. He became a lanky but strong teenager, feisty and protective with a love for his comrades. But only one especially kept his focus, a strong willed girl from the younger ranks, given a name by the season she was delivered into Merete - Autumn. She, much like him seemed to have kept a larger scale of emotion. It had not yet been completely destroyed and that was rare to behold.
August had reluctantly disposed of many of his comrades, each one damaging his psyche to the extent he wished he was more like the the others. But he had a in-depth understanding of manipulation and deception which he used perfectly to disguise how he truly felt. The only person seeing the genuine side of him was Autumn who felt the same. Chancing their safety, the two would secretly meet and spend their nights together dreaming of a happier world, going beyond the limits to keep their endeavours a secret.
It was only by using his immeasurable skills he managed to survive into adulthood, and as the others around him became immune to the hostility and gained an unwavering obedience to their superiors, Augusts dwindled and eventually by the age of 18 it had died out completely. The only thing resembling his once strong bond to the people around him were the scars which decorated his built form.
August took his time to plan and prepare for his eventual escape, with the help of his most trusted ally, he collected and packed up a bag of anything he knew he would need on the outside. But when the time came he couldn’t leave without her adding extra risk of being caught. As the night sky cloaked over the compound, August made his move. The compound was on full lock down and the young male used the opportunity of his guard duty to disable the electricity in one section of the barricades, plunging the area in darkness and the security reduced to manpower. It was a high risk, but a small group of opportunistic others managed to escape as well, separating and trekking their way across Europe, only August and his love stayed together.
In a year his life had changed dramatically, not only did he look different, but he had made a life long vow to Autumn to provide for her the dreams they shared together as teenagers. It was around time he found out his birth name and who his parents were, but chose to adapt the nickname she had given him years ago, using it as their official last name - Orsino.
With a little more research into his parents background he discovered where they had hailed from and dispite his hatred of their actions he felt deep down they mustn’t have had a choice but to abandon their son.
Led by his curiosity, August and his wife set off to find the city printed in bold black ink on a scrunched piece of paper called Evermore. Unknown to him, this revelation would open a world he couldn’t have dreamed of. Months later they had found the the people who were just like them, all supernatural with different callings. He found his people and settled with his wife among them, choosing the Diverse path, training with Masters of his chosen elements so he could perfect them and become stronger. Finally he had answers to his life long questions he thought he’d never receive, a secure prosperous job at a local university as a Criminal Psychology lecturer, and place he could safely call home.
