Ayla was born to a pure nephilim family who cared very deeply for their roots, from a young age she was trained how to fight and she was only 12 years old when she first selected her weapon of choice, a serrated dagger. Though the young Nephilim never managed to develop her skills far because not long after her twelfth birthday she had her world stripped away from her.

 As a child she grew up alongside her sister Sirsha who she cared for deeply, the two were rarely able to be separated and would often be found sharing stories and one another's company. One night the two sisters were up in their room when a vampire coven found their way into their home, their parents unaware of the mayhem slept through the incident but Sirsha and Ayla were awoken by the noise and headed downstairs. The vampires had been raiding the house for loot and upon spotting the two girls they had decided they would kidnap the young Nephilim for a ransom. When one of them had grabbed Sirsha, Ayla had pulled her blade from her pocket and cut the vampire and screamed at the top of her lungs alerting her parents to what was happening.

 In the short moments between Ayla's scream and their parent's arriving the Vampire had clamped his hand over the young girl's mouth and Ayla was growing short on breath, Sirsha tried her hardest to get the vampire to let go but he wouldn't and when the girl's parents burst into the room the vampire was gone. Ayla struggling for breath watched as the world slowly faded away and then everything went black.  

 Several years passed and Ayla's condition remained the same, though her body grew older and she changed in all the same ways a teenager should, she couldn't wake up and she was held in a coma for over seven years of her childhood until she reached the age of 19.

 On the night of the comet, Sirsha had snuck away from the meeting the Nephilim were holding just so that she could sit with Ayla, she thought about the comet and about how it was supposed to grant wishes and as she caught a glimpse of  it outside her window she closed her eyes wishing that she could spend the night talking to her sister like they used to do when they were children. And then the comet hit, crashing to the earth with a shattering sound and Sirsha was knocked out. That was the moment that with a gasping breath Ayla found her way back to reality, jolting up in her bed and looking around in a panic. She could see her sister across the room and there were two beautiful white wings protruding from her back and to her shock, she also had a pair too.
