Carter woke up one morning in an orphanage, with no memory of his life up until that point. No one listened to him when he told them he didn’t belong there. They locked him in solitary confinement for weeks. The longer he stayed, the more scared he became. The other kids told him they had no idea of how they got in the orphanage either. They just woke up one day and were there. They decided it was time to leave. They made a plan to leave on the one year anniversary of when Carter arrived.

A week before they were supposed to leave, his arm started to hurt. The pain got worse every day and he started having nightmares. He was told he was just imagining the pain and was given medicine for night terrors. Finally, he decided it was time to leave. He got the other kids ready, and just as they were about to sneak out, guards burst in and subdued them all except Carter. He then felt a final shock of pain and looked down at his glowing arm and he watch as a black sun symbol burned into his skin. The guards froze, using this to his advantage he burst out the door and into the night.

He ran... and ran and ran. He ran all night, passing through cities and towns, not stopping until he was too tired to run anymore. He then passed out on the ground, exhausted. When he came to, he then looked up and saw a "You Are Now Entering" sign. He walked past the sign and walked into a town called Evermore.
