Charles was always a quiet person even as a child. He always kept to himself and left other people alone. Eventually at the age of 21 he met a shy lady who looked to be his age. Unbeknownst to him she was the Deer shifter of the spirit clan. They fell in love and eventually married and had a set of twins 1 year later. But 2 years later he came home from his job to find his wife and children brutally murdered. He was never the same after that he became a recluse not going out of his home at all.

 One day he woke up to find a strange sun shaped tattoo that he never had before on his arm. He went to a doctor and tried to get it lasered off but it did not seem to faze the tattoo a bit. Soon after he got that tattoo he started having strange visions of a white doe running through a forest then she shifted into his mate and motioned for him to come to her but he ran away. 15 different animals tried to make him turn back but he fled from them and then he woke up with his whole entire body aching with a pain he had never felt before.

Those dreams kept happening until he eventually woke in the middle of thieforest with 15 different people standing around him and he felt horrid like all of his bones had broken and reknitted. Next thing he knew he fell back into darkness with the sounds of a low powerful chant being spoken around him. He dreamt of a powerful elk with a huge set of antlers looking down at him. He looked at the elk and the elk looked at him and then it ran full tilt at him and rammed into his body but instead of goring him it went into him and he woke up.

Once he awoke it was explained to him that he was now the Deer Shifter and he was taught how to shift and learned to fully shift into his deer form. He learned that vampires killed his wife and children and he became very indisposed towards them and is usually the first to get into a fight with one. Otherwise he keeps to his clan and deals with missions to listen in on important information that might help the clan. He is also good with interrogations as he can hear the change of their heart beats. He gained an excellent sense of hearing from his new form. He also is a woodcarver and he sells his carvings all over and provides income for his clan.
