Age: 24
Species: Kitsune-Half-blood
Face Claim: Son Naeun
Family:
At the beginning of Chrystal's life, things were not that easy, but it had to do with her parents and when they meet in San Francisco 1992. It started when her father Joshua, company owner to a business in America and South Korea, was running to get clocked into his workplace. As he ran he bumped into a women that worked in his company who he had never seen before. All the papers went towards the floor as they were trying to pick up everything before the wind caught it. People who were walking by helped as the two hit accidentally knocked heads and looked up at each other their brown eyes meeting for the first time.
From that moment, it was love at first sight and the two got married the next year in the middle of June. A year after, in the midst of October, a baby girl was announced in the mother's stomach. The Kim family’s happiness grew, smiles on their faces. They were going to have a real family. Sarah the baby's mother, always watched what she ate and went on a healthy diet for the child to eat healthier later in life. For Sarah's side of the family, everyone was on a strict diet to live a better life with no side problems. However, on Joshua's side of the household, meats, and protein was everything in the family, but too much will cause problems. Both parents agreed to give her as much health as they can before she was born.
After the new year of January 1994, on the 18th; a healthy baby girl name, Chrystal Kim was born. Everyone in the Kim family and their pack was triumphal to have another member of the household. Baby Chrystal being in the arms of loving parents was only going to last for a short time. Growing up, her father was hardly around due to his company wanted him only there. Sarah, her mother, didn't want to leave her home state but was given no choice in doing so. Chrystal never got to see her hometown since before her life in Myeongdong, South Korea began. Chrystal was raised speaking pure Korean in her father’s presence but kept her English like her mother wanted her to when he was away. The move from America to Korea was something forced with her mother and in due time something for the worst would come to the family.
Living in South Korea, Chrystal gained her second name which was Kim Soo-Jung, her Korean name, which meant the same name she was born with in America. Growing up she became a bright girl as she met new friends and gained lots of memories and stories she could share with others and create friendships with never leaving anyone out. Chrystal was a very friendly but blunt person who always got in trouble for saying too much. For a girl who can't keep her mouth shut, Chrystal was very helpful to have around and was the best friend to anyone if they needed one. That’s what everyone saw at school and from her on the streets, but her whole personality was different at home due to her mother.
Chrystal tried not to let it show that her life was controlled by her mother, whatever she says or does is everything her mother wanted. The young girl was not a mother's girl at all, but the only way she could have freedom was to rebel. Only he closest friend knew her home life and did not blame her friend for wanting to stay over or have sleepovers away from the Kim home. Chrystal's childhood was not that good, even in Korea she only saw her father three times a month. It did not stop her from having dreams about what she wanted from life, which was to be an actress but that wouldn't come easy for her since her mother never let her do school plays or let anyone see what Chrystal's talents were or where they might lead her.
School life for her was her haven, but there were those who thought she was crazy for considering it so. Chrystal always looked forward to being at school and being with people who treat her right. That was until one night when she and her mother had a huge fight which caused her mother Sarah to raise her hand at her daughter and slapped her. The slap left a red mark for her to go to school with and she got many looks and some started to call her names. Chrystal cried in an empty classroom and held her legs close to her chest, as her nightmare came is life, her haven now ruined. Chrystal was broken inside and she always asked why her mother put that punishment on her, why her daughter, her blood.
In 2011, Chrystal finally got to see her father, but it was for the last time, Joshua knew what her life had become and he told Chrystal about where she was born, and she could run away to live in America for the remained of her life. Chrystal's last gift from her father brought her to tears and they shared the longest hug. She only has three more years before turning eighteen and she didn’t want to be alone, she wanted her dad to come with her but all she got was a smile. That very smile was one she would regret and never want to remember but in at the moment seeing that smile made her feel alive again knowing her father loved her. Chrystal looked up what California looked like, amazed it was her birthplace and began to make plans to return.
Three weeks later she was walking with her friends in Hongdae, South Korea. She didn't think a part of Korea would look beautiful at night with all the light. Chrystal's friends knew how to celebrates their friendship with Korean BBQ and Soju which put them all into high spirits and a joyful nature. The night had other plans in store and ended with a shocking car accident. The group ran to where the crowd was trying to see what happened. The light in her eyes left her as she saw her father's lifeless body and his blood everywhere on the road that people normally walked on. Her best friend Soo-Hae took her away from the view, shielding her with his body. Her only family she ever loved was no longer with her as she heard everyone gasp, hope surged through her as she runs through the crowd and saw the injuries. The cuts were not from the car accident, nor the bite he had on his leg. The first animal attack in the city was now see by the eyes of Hongdae and the police. Behind Chrystal was the person who tried to save her father from the fight he has with another of his species but that was something she didn’t know at the time. With her father out of the way Chrystal would be the next target.
In 2013, she graduated from her Korean High School, she had already received accepted from many colleges in America. One of those school was Evermore Collage. Chrystal didn't know Evermore existed in America or what it really was, but that didn't stop her from looking up the city. There was nothing about the school or the City which was weird for her. " Ah, I see this was a joke. Fake advertisement. People need to get a life." she said as she brought the paper into a ball and threw into the trash can. At the age of 20, she said goodbye to her mother forever as she went to live her life with her own control and freedom. Freedom was a taste she never knew until then. Opening her wallet she looked at the last photo with her and her father and she knew she would be happy and live her gift from her old man, her life. "Thank you Father, for giving me this chance. I will make sure your life will still be in my heart in America," she said in Korean bring her lips to the photo to kiss it.
Life in America started in 2014, as she got a job as a waitress at a local pizza restaurant still with the childhood dream of being an actress. Life for Chrystal in California was not going that good as she thought moving to a place with music and rich history would make a better home for her. Rowlett, Texas became her home, a town a few miles away from the much larger city of Dallas. She found her love of song and dance in her new home. Out of a job she found she had just enough saved up to get a guitar and begin to write her songs and stories.
Chrystal read many history pieces about outlaws that brought her to her favorite, Bonnie and Clyde. Chrystal looked up to Bonnie as she felt like she can relate to her life and was very bold to devote her love and life to the man she loved and the crime life. However her life as a human was drawing to a close with every day that passed by; On December 15, 2014, she was locking up the restaurant since it was her turn to close up shop. Pulling her green jacket closer to her skin she was grateful that it closing off the cold. The night was black with only the hint of light from street lamps and light from store and house windows guiding her journey. Chrystal was very close to home when something fell on the hard street behind her. The young women looked up and then walked backward to see a cell phone broke in half.
Snarling came from behind her, though she could not turn around in time to see the animal who bite her. Pain filled her body as she fell to the ground a cry leaving her lips but no one answered. Chrystal didn't know who or what bite her but she knew it hurt so badly. Chrystal fainted and the pain she felt disappeared. Chrystal woke up the next day in a stranger's house, scared to be in someone else’s home, wondering why she was there and then the pain from the bite hit her. Laying in bed with towels and a pitcher of water on the table next to her, pouring herself some water she readied herself to see the bite but there was nothing there. She looked healthy like any human would look like, calling out hello, she saw a man come in with a smile. The man was very tall, nicely built in the body. After hearing the story about how she got here and what happened, she was told the stories of the Kitsune's, which seemed a myth but he spoke as if it were true.
For the next few days, she stayed with the stranger since he didn't let her go anywhere by herself without him for her safety. Chrystal stayed with the man as he got her everything she needed, food, clothing, and other things. It felt weird to her at first, but she felt happy he was there by her side. The next full moon was just as the man told her. It was why she had learned breathing treatments and he told Chrystal what she needed to remember during her first transformation. Everything in Chrystal's mind was not cooperating since she still couldn’t believe she was going to change into a Kitsune or in simple terms a fox. The night before the full moon Chrystal looked at the night sky and she remembered looking up at the full moon and loving how peaceful it was. Looking down at her body as she took a deep breath and closes her eyes saying everything was going to be ok.
The night of the full moon, Chrystal was very scared something was going to go wrong, as every step she took with the man brought her deeper into the forest outside of town. As the two walked through the forest they spoke to one another until she saw a group that upon seeing them stood up. It was then Chyrstal found out the man's name was Keith and he was the alpha of the pack. "You are family to us no matter if you are blooded or turned." Keith told her as she shed a tear knowing she never had family who cared about her. Keith looked up to the sky as the clouds uncovered the full moon. From that moment Chrystal felt pain throughout her body as she put her hand to her forehead and then fell to the ground. "Remember the breathing treatments, breath in and out," Keith told her as the transformation was very painful. If the young women could explain or describe the pain it would be agony and torture, feeling every part of her body going through changes that can cause any human to pass out. Keith was with her for the whole change as she lay there as an arctic fox. Chrystal opened her eyes as she could not feel anything as her eyes wondered seeing a new world and a big cat she took a guess that was the pack leader.
Through the night she could not believe everything she saw as she thought she was really someone and a part of something that is different. Chrystal soon accepted her new life as a Kitsune, meeting new friends throughout the pack. In the year of 2015 months before the Gemini comet came to Evermore, the pack traveled to Colorado. Chrystal and Keith becoming close, she would not be there without him or his guidance. "I thought Evermore was a fictional city." Chrystal told him and the other male chucked. "No, it's real, Evermore holds more than us. Other species lives there." Chrystal listened to him as she nodded regretting calling the city a joke her school in Korea had made on her. Keith also explained to her the chances that would come with moving to this new city, there was a faction system that they had to live by and though in his heart Keith would always be an alpha he knew he had to submit to the alphas of the city in order to be welcomed in. Chrystal understood that but in a way she knew she would always be loyal to her friend and mentor.
Chrystal and the pack made it to Evermore woods, to see what she expected were more packs and leaders. Making her home in Evermore was easy on her since she can still go to college and make a new start which was everything she ever wanted. On the night of the Gemini Comet, Chrystal was making her lunch for tomorrow as she was going to apply for college knowing the lines might be long and so on. She stood up and put her lunch in the fridge of her own place as she stopped, feeling something in her that was not right. Looking at her phone she could see a full moon was not coming until two more weeks. Bringing her hand to her forehead she felt herself falling back to sit on the floor as her body feel backward and her head hit her refrigerator her vision going black. The world around her went into the world of tranquil until morning. Hearing someone running into her place and shacking her to wake up her brown eyes meet Keith's blue-gray eyes as she sighed. " Are you ok?" he asked as Chrystal looked around and nodded. " What happened, why am I on the ground?" she asked as she heard about the comet which hit the city.
After the comet, Chrystal successfully got into the college and began studying drama and theater arts. Her life was now brighter than before but she does go back in her mind to Korea as she does miss her friend back there, but moving on was everything she needed in her life right now. Since Keith submitted to the alphas of the city the pack could stay close together but Chrystal found herself able to learn of kitsune specific abilities from the Therian Ambassador and fellow kitsune, Orion Valkyrie. Chrystal is now living free and hopes to find her best friend and maybe something more with someone and to try to learn new things.
