Emilee Eliza Whitmore was born on December 29th 1994 into what seemed like a normal everyday usual family, though really, it wasn't what everyone thought it would be like. They were the carefree and laid back family that everyone wanted to be part off. They had their strict moments along with the loving ones just like every other family did. Emilee's mother was an Initia and she told no one of this, not even any of Emilee's older siblings or her father. It was kept a secret from everyone.

Growing up, Emilee was favourited more by her mother and was closer to her than her father or any of her siblings. She spent the most time with her mother, whether it be learning or just having fun. Emilee was always told stories about creatures; species living amongst each other in peace and learning to get on together. At the young age she was, she believed everything she was told and went around saying she was all sorts of different species and that she could be anything she wanted if she believed it to be true.

At the age of seven, Emilee was involved in a car crash that included her mother and two of her siblings. By the time paramedics had made it to the scene, both her older and younger siblings were dead from the impact and Emilee’s mother was also on the way out, though it was slower than her sibling’s deaths. They were both emitted to the hospital, Emilee with minor wounds, being just a few broken bones whilst her mother bled out and died.

It was hard for Emilee to take the news once it happened, taking and feeling the loss close to heart, feeling like a piece of her was missing and a piece of her was missing. The piece that her mother filled with love and happiness was gone, all that was left being an empty shell. Once Emilee was allowed to leave the hospital, she returned to her home in Kansas City with her father and her only sibling left of the original four.

Over the next year or two, Emilee was never the same, always feeling the empty spot left behind from the loss of her mother and two siblings, and her father along with everyone else she knew, could tell that their deaths had a huge impact on her, especially at a young age and seeing them die in front of her eyes. It’s nothing a seven year old should witness. She mostly spent her time in the garden or in a meadow she had found. She felt herself there, being close to the earth. It made her feel better.

Depression soon followed Emilee, not being able to move on from what happened, having nightmares and dreams that haunted her day and night. She was prescribed pills and she took them, wanting to generally get better for the good of herself and the family she had left. Within time, it slowly took its toll on her, feeling generally happier and better than before and she knew she had to move on from the deaths that had caused her all this pain. Everyone had their time to go, even if it’s not what they wanted.

Over the next few years, Emilee spent her time with her remaining family and her friends, making herself busy to distract herself so she didn’t go back to thinking about what happened all those years ago. It was the age of fifteen years old when it happened; she was out in the meadow she had found when a searing pain ran across Emilee’s back and side, not being able to do anything about the pain that ran across her body but to just let it take its course until it stopped. Occasional screams left her mouth as the pain got worse and she could have sworn she felt the earth shaking below her. The pain continued on for at least an hour or two before it slowly went away and Emilee was able to move without having to scream in pain and for help, though she knew no one would hear her if she did.

As soon as Emilee got home that evening, she rushed to her room and checked her back in the mirror, seeing what looked like a tattoo etched onto her skin. She was confused on how it had got onto her skin, but she felt like it was familiar. Like she had seen it before somewhere but couldn’t remember where she had. It took her a few weeks before she remembered where she had seen the tattoo before, remembering how her mother had one exactly like it also etched onto her skin.

Soon enough, the stories of the species also came to her mind, remembering her mother telling her about a species called Initia, that they could control the elements and that when they became of age, a tribal tattoo etched itself onto their skin permanently. Emilee also remembered the other information she had learned from the stories her mother told her.

Though with all the information she had, she didn’t tell her father or brother, taking it that her mother didn’t tell them either. Emilee didn’t want to be seen as a freak through their eyes but she knew she couldn’t stay in her childhood home in Kansas anymore. She had heard about a city in Colorado named Evermore City where the species there all lived in different factions in parts of the city. She took this as her chance, to up and leave her father and brother, knowing it was best for them that she did this.

Soon enough, she was out of Kansas and in Evermore City, leaving to find the Initia Faction, hoping that someone will be able to help her in controlling and learning her element of Earth.
