Name: Gael Valkyrie
Age: 26
Species: Pure Kitsune
Family: Orion, Seraphina, Fallon and Arwyn Valkyrie
Face Claim: Daniel Sharman
Gael had always found his family name to be incredible ironic, considering that the very first vampire in existence was rumoured to have been named Valkyries and he had been born into a vampire hunting family with the surname. How much difference a single letter could make to a person.
Gael was born the youngest of two brothers to a pure Kitsune family in Nevada, he was raised alongside his elder brother Fallon, though the family overall were very close and lots of his childhood was spent either his other members of family such as his uncles, aunts and many cousins. One thing was for sure whilst Gael was growing up, he was never short on people surrounding him, in fact it was even hard to get peace sometimes around his family.
From a young age, the young boy knew everything he would need to know to take his rightful place in the family, he learned of Kitsunes, their strengths and weaknesses. Most of it was taught to him by his brother, Fallon took on the parental role that his parents often seemed too busy to fulfil, not that he blamed them for it, Gael understood quite quickly the dangers his family were accustomed to and growing up he wanted to learn as much as he could to enable him to join their ranks instead of watching from the sidelines.
As Gael grew older he watched as his family battled away with the vampires who roamed Nevada, he never understood where such hatred had sparked but by now it was very real, the battles were constant and it became norm to fear for someone’s life once they left home for the day. At first Gael wasn’t sure he wanted to be a part of that life, the young boy was well built and strong but his mind was also often in other places, he enjoyed being surrounded by nature and to be at one with the small peaceful moments, things his parents had no interest in him spending his time on. Gael however didn’t have much say in whether he would become a vampire hunter, there was no question, in the world he had been brought into, his choices were as literal as hunt or be hunted.
At age 12 Gael had mastered his fighting technique, he was strong and fierce and somewhat emotionless, the process of becoming a fighter took a toll on the young dreamer and he became what could be considered a fighting machine, Gael was easily one of the strongest members of the Valkyrie family, even while he was a mere teen but he lacked emotion when he was fighting, his dual blades swinging and slicing through the air in a calculated method, it would be this emotionless state which would cruelly change him for the worse.
Gael had been assigned on a mission with his brother, mother and father, the mission should have been routine. Easy. But as they reached the dark warehouse where they had received intelligence that vampires were seeking refuge they were ambushed, what should have been an easy capture became a bloodbath and despite killing as many vampires as he could, Gael felt the sting of a blade in his lower back and cried out in pain. However the pain stopped as quick as it started when his father threw himself into the path of the vampire who was about to take Gael’s life and paid the ultimate price for his heroics.
Horrified by what had happened Gael had panicked turning back towards the ever crowding vampires but Fallon in a fit of rage had started to slaughter them all, his brother had never looked to crippled with grief and yet his fighting was the best it had ever been, sparking of his brother’s energy Gael joined the fight once more killing every vampire in their path, they would pay for killing his father and he would be the one to make them pay for their arrogance.
By the time the brothers were done there was no one else left breathing on the battlefield and Gael fell to his knees at his father’s side letting the emotion that had been bottled up out, he was furious, he was sad to think that he would never see his father again but mostly he was riddled with guilt, his father had died saving him and now he would have to give that sacrifice merit, he had to carry on what his father had started.
Later the brothers would discover that their mother had also been killed in the battle leaving them both without parents, it was a hard time for both of the brothers but they relied on one another to keep going, to keep fighting, but with time it became clear that both of their abilities to fight had been hindered by the level of pain they had been forced to endure thanks to the vampires, they made stupid mistakes.
Gael was placed under the care of his uncle Orion after this, Gael had always gotten along well with his uncle and had no issues with living under his roof and following his rules, he also got along well with his cousins Arwyn and Seraphina. With time the group of them became close, whilst they weren’t his mother and father, Orion and Destiny tried their best to support him with everything he needed and in return he fought with them, he did his best to channel all the pain he had been through into strength, as hard as it was.
However once Gael finally felt like things were finally settling and he could breathe once more his aunt was captured and taken by the vampires and the nightmare began to run it’s course once more. There were many negotiations over the week and the family were inevitably lead into a trap, Orion was offered the chance to take his wife’s place and to save Destiny, he had of course agreed, Orion would have done anything for Destiny, but it was all a cruel ploy and the vampires had taken the weakness as a chance to strike.
In that night, Destiny was killed and the pack was left with no further options than to flee, they ran for miles and months and then one day Orion made the decision on where to take his pack, after their surrender there was no way they could return home so Orion led them to Evermore city where a friend of his had recently come into power over the Therianthrope factions, here they would be safe and they could figure out where their next step would be. Though Gael knew of peace in the city, he had no intention of holding it, vampires were vampires whether they were in Nevada or Colorado and the vampires would pay for what they had done to his family.
