Happy families don’t always get the life they wanted. Twenty three years ago, at Florida’s General Hospital, Hank and Millie Whitlock gave birth to Jasper Elizabeth Whitlock. What a name for a beautiful little girl right? It suited her though. Jasper’s parents were over the moon in love with her. They spoiled her every second they could until Jasper was about 5 years old. The entire family was in the car - her parents, and herself, on the way to their family cottage, for a little vacation. Everyone was excited, singing and enjoying the drive there. That was until a driver on the opposite side of the road, lost control of their car, and hit head on into their car. Jasper’s father died on impact, and as Millie and Jasper were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Millie died in surgery, and well Jasper, she was stuck in a coma for a few weeks.

You see, Jasper’s parents didn’t have any other family - not that they kept in contact with them, so when social services tried to contact the family of both sides, no one wanted to take Jasper in. Jasper woke up from her coma, only being 5 years old, she was scared, and wanted her parents. But Jasper was told her parents didn’t make the accident, she went silent. The outgoing, lively little girl Jasper once was, was gone.

Jasper ended up going into foster care - in and out of homes, as no one wanted to keep a 5 year old little girl who didn’t talk, and didn’t show interest in anything anymore. This went on up until Jasper was 16, when she finally decided to be a teenager - going out to party, getting drunk, being involved in bad influences. Her recent foster parents, neglected Jasper - not feeding her, not buying her things she needed, constantly yelling at her and abusing her, but the state refused to do anything since they were the only foster parents that would keep Jasper in their home.

Right before Jasper’s 17th birthday, she ran away. She left with her current boyfriend - Leon, who helped her escape the wretched abuse, and she traveled across the united states, landing in many different states - Alabama, Texas, New York, California. They would stay for months at a time, and then up and move. This went on for a few years. Jasper was happy, for once. Until Leon turned into a cold hearted person, who ended up attacking Jasper one night he was drunk, leaving her with a bloody lip, and a few bruises on her body. Jasper was 21 at this point. She didn’t know what to do, she didn’t know how she could leave since Leon was the one who saved her.

It wasn’t until Jasper landed in the hospital that she knew she needed to leave. The caring man she once knew was gone - and Jasper needed to leave it. With the help of the Domestic Abuse Against Women program, Jasper was able to move out of their latest state - Utah - and move without anyone knowing where she would be - Evermoore City, Colorado. Where Jasper began taking boxing classes, and becoming one of the best in her class, and eventually, she became an instructor. Shortly after she started teaching some of the boxing classes, Jasper learned that the whole was not what she expected it to be. She found out the truth - that there were people of the supernatural sorts. And yet, it should’ve scared her - but it only made her braver. She didn’t know what this city would teach her - but she was willing to learn, to be stronger.
