The Ayres family were a pure blood family of Nephilims; who had family based all across the united states, however this family had decided to make home around the borders of Mexico. So it was really no surprise when Joshua was born that his life would already have been written out for him. Born on midnight April 12th Joshua was known to be the golden child of his family; each of them loving him in their own way, and he loved them back in his own way it was clear that this family were close. It was then from a young age that Joshua was taught all about what his family was, as they knew they didn’t want Joshua to be unprepared for when it was his turn to step out into the world. This was also when he learned how to fight and defend himself, and they even taught him how to get himself out of danger is he ever needed to. Something which Joshua knew would come in very handy. But his parents didn’t wish for their son to grow up brainwashed believing that there would only be danger in the world, so they taught him that their was both good and evil within the world. So that when the time came he would be able to tell the difference especially if anything ever were to creep up on him.

It was only when Joshua’s family went to see Ariel’s family his cousin who was born a few months after he was, that he got to see the world for what it was mixed with both good and evil. It seemed that was how the world worked. However none like his cousin Ariel who had accepted both good and evil from the moment she seen them, he was the complete opposite unsure of if he liked this good/bad world he slowly learned to accept it. Which wasn’t really all that unusual for a young Nephilim in training; to not be so accepting to one side but his parents let him do his own thing, and learn from whatever mistakes he would make along the way that he did. This was something which Joshua was very grateful for; since his family didn’t mummy cuddle him and they let him explore the world, and live his life how he wanted to. It was only when they returned him that Joshua attended school just like any normal child, and was even lucky enough to make a few friends. But one thing which did seem to catch his eye more than anything else and that was sports. Joshua enjoyed playing all different kinds of sports and had even managed to get within the clubs that the school had for sports, something which not only made him happy but his family as well. Joshua would always be out playing in football games or just the simple baseball game. However it was when Joshua turned eleven that his parents began to notice changes. This was something that made them very worry off, since he was more out of the house than he was at home. But after all that worry it turned out that Joshua was actually apart of a nearby towns football team, and he also had a little job on the side of him playing sports for the nearby town.

Joshua believed that since his family were all going out and earning money for him to live. It was only fair that he made money and paid them back for everything. This was something his family were very proud of him for; that he was stepping out into the world and taking responsibility already for things in his life, something which they also knew he didn’t need to do especially with him still only really being a child. But it did seem to bring a sparkle into his eyes and that was all that really mattered. So they allowed him to continue on with his sports and job as long as he remembered to train for the Nephilim side of him, and that was something he right away agreed to as he knew he didn’t want to lose touch with the two sides he had. It was only when he had turned thirteen he soon noticed scars beginning to show on his back, which at first did confuse him deeply about. But his parents soon sat him down and told him it was alright; that it was all apart of becoming a Nephilim, and what his future was going to be. So he just accepted it without a single worry or problem. However soon after being told all that he remembered that his parents had taught him all about this when he was younger, but he never expected for these scars to show up as much as they did. It was only when he was in school or changing for gym or for a sports game that people made fun of him, calling him horrible names like freak, loser or Sir Scar a lot but that didn’t seem to fizz on him to their faces. It was only when Joshua was alone that his true emotions began to show; it wasn’t of sadness though it was of anger and just wanting to make them see that he didn’t have a choice, he would lash out in the bathrooms or in the gym while he was along just wishing that one person would be able to understand him. It was later that very same week that his wish had been answered. A brother and sister who were a year above him understood him, How did they understand him? It was because they were Nephilims like he was, it turned out that they knew his family who lived in Colorado.

At first though Joshua didn’t trust them at all but the more he hung out with them. Listening to their stories on how they found out and grew up, he soon began to like them more and they grew to like him. It wasn’t really that long after they became close friends; that he let them meet his normal friends but at points all they seemed to do was clash, and of course then Joshua knew it was time for him maybe to hang around with his own kind more as well as his normal friends. However his normal friends were not all that accepting; forcing Joshua to choose between them and his new friends, he just couldn’t do it and told them that he needed to be around them and if they were his true friends they would understand. But they didn’t leaving Joshua along with his new friends, they all never made a single piece of contact again. Which wasn’t surprising considering he couldn’t forgive them for trying to make him choose, between his own kind of people who just wouldn’t understand him no matter how hard he tried. It was since that day that she never really trusted those who he attended school with again, to him nobody would ever be able to understand him apart from his own kind and would always be there for him. It was also from that day that Joshua accepted what he was more, knowing that these scars were now apart of his life and he couldn’t make them magically disappear. Something which he soon also grew to understand that there would be good and bad things in his life, and all he would have to do was learn to mix the both together so that the two things worked together.

It was the day of a big football game in the nearby town that his family gathered and watched him play, winning the game the brightest smile crossed his lips and the happiness which was on his face just overwhelmed him. However that happiness would be short lived as his family soon explained; that he would be going with his new friends to a safe place that he could continue his life in safety, and that he would sadly never see them again. Joshua heart broken and not wanting to leave his family; knew that he didn’t have a single choice within this matter and he would be going whether or not he wanted to or not, it was only later that night that Joshua hugged his family for the last time and was sent away to live with his new friends in a safe place. Which was based in a cabin a few hundred miles outside of Aspen, something which did confuse him and upset him on why his family didn’t want him with them. But he soon grew to understand why. His family had went to meet with the other Ayres family, because the two families had some business they didn’t want Joshua to be exposed too. Especially not at the age of fourteen. It was from there that Joshua and his friends soon started school again; pretending that they were just from a normal family, so that nobody did expect anything from them that was also then all turned upside down. When his two friends Luke and Harper’s family were killed and of course fearing for their family, the pair told Joshua to drop out of school and move around and never stay in one place for more than a night before they finally left him.

It was from there that Joshua did what his friends had told him traveling to different towns, villages and cities, Joshua had never remained anywhere for more than a single night. That was until he discovered his friends had been murdered; he had been standing on the borders of Canada and the States when he got the news, falling to his knees the young boy had no idea what he was going to do all his family were gone to Evermore and his friends went and had been murdered. It was only as the days went on and Joshua had been placed in foster care, and he then later discovered that his family had all been murdered too. Something which only added to his heart break. Joshua was raised for a year with his foster family the Ayres, who then adopted him a few weeks before Christmas, and of course Joshua wanting to move on from his past believing all his family including his cousin Ariel had been murdered. He took on their name and just continued his life as if he was a normal person in front of them, but away from them he would train himself and hope that he would be able to come face to face with those who had killed his family. As the years went on and Joshua grew older he soon became more alert and ready to take on anything, and that is what he did needing away to let out his rage he soon got into boxing letting his temper out in the ring. His fights always landed him as the winner; but he never did anything which would land himself in jail, he soon became quiet after his last fight, and just pulled away from the world.

Which then continued right up until he was eighteen when he graduated from high school; he soon decided that he wanted to leave the Ayres family, and move to Evermore City where he would then attend college. Something that his new family had agreed on and let him be; so he said goodbye to them and hit the road traveling all over America once again, he soon landed himself in Evermore City after months of traveling. Joshua soon found himself a place to live and then the Nephilim Community where he lives, he then started college and just continued on with his life in Evermore City. However it was only after he later found out that his cousin’s family had lived, and Ariel was still alive something which he was glad of. But that was all short lived when the massacre ripped through the City. Killing anyone who had been targeted before, he soon found out that his cousin’s family had all been killed, but there was no news on whether Ariel had survived or not. This only caused Joshua to fear now that he was the only living Ayres left. But little did he know that fate would finally be kind to him, and there was one other Ayres living within the Nephilim Community herself. But what did she look like now? Joshua had no clue nor did he even know if she kept the same name her parents had given to her, but now that he has this information and has landed himself in a good stable job. Joshua is looking forward to being reunited with his cousin and is just hopeful, that she remembers him, and that the pair will be able to get along. If not then where does the paths lie for these two last living Ayres’?
