Kara was born in a shelter in one of the dark parts of Northern Europe. Her mother was human and never recovered from birthing Kara, she died during a cold night three years later. The shelter didn't look kindly on her after that, she was just another mouth to feed, one that couldn't work at that. Kara was a noisy child and this was causing the establishment to lose money. Saying enough was enough they tossed her out on the streets at five years of age.

Life went from bad to worse for her after that. The small town in which Kara found herself was constantly raided by passing nomadic tribes, both human and supernatural, and Kara was too young to defend herself a lot of the times they passed through. She ended up with many bruises and broken bones but, strangely, she found that her wounds healed much faster than the other street childrens.

As she grew towards the age of twelve Kara began to noticed she was much stronger than the rest of the street kids and that she always had a need to protect them. She didn't know that her father was a Vampire and she had inherited these gifts from him as she was a Dhampir. This was only made known to her when a group of seemingly normal people moved into the village and stayed there. They were incredibly strong and fast and Kara was in awe of them. The strangest thing about these people come to her town was that she felt even stronger with them near. She only realised this when she punched one of the bullies in high town and instead of giving him a large bruise she broke his arm. One of the new residents noticed this and brought her to the side. His name was Hall and he had a suspicion as to why Kara was stronger than the others her age.

He took her to a Dojo up in the mountains that Kara didn’t even know existed. She was sixteen years old and had never been outside her own town. She was filled with excitement at the thought of  leaving. She felt she could trust Hall even though she didn't know the man. In the Dojo Kara learned how to fight and to protect. She became stronger under the watchful gaze of Hall and two years passed quickly.

Upon her 18th birthday Hall lead her to a room full of weapons. He told her to pick them all up one by one. Confused she did as he asked, but nothing happened for over an hour. She picked up and examined dozens of knifes, had fired more guns than she could count and swung more swords than she had ever seen in her life. Hall was beginning to lose hope. Maybe she wasn't like him and was just weirdly strong.

After two hours Hall called Kara back. She was really sweaty and frustrated, still not knowing why Hall had made her touch all the weapons. She punched the door frame as she went by which rattled the wall of the armoury, making something fall out of it case and clatter to the floor. Turning to pick it up Kara noticed that when her fingers wrapped around the hold of the weapon, runes appeared and glowed gold. When she left the room with the whip she felt complete in a way she never had before. Hall told her she was a Dhampir and this explained so much about her life. He explained that himself and the others who had come to her village were Dhampirs also and that they would teach her everything she needed to know. Kara was eternally grateful to them for helping her find out whom she truly was. It was three weeks before Kara could use her new tool effectively. Hours of training and many mishaps later she was able to shatter a glass jar with the end of the steel tipped whip.

It had been many years since Kara had been in her town, much had changed since she had left. Many buildings had burnt down in a raid that had happened a few years before. All her friends from her street days had been killed or had started families. Feeling a little put out by the changes Kara decided she would take this opportunity to travel. She'd only ever lived in her village and the Dojo in the mountains. She decided she would explore the world. Hall decided to go with her on her trip. The two had grown close during her training and she was glad to have him as a travelling companion.

The two traveled for many years. Kara found as the years past she barely aged, or her looks did, her birthdays past but she barely looked 24 even after half a century. The two had been in America for the last 50 years just wandering from state to state just exploring. Most recently they can stumbled upon a city called Evermore. Their weapons were constantly glowing, the city what full of Supernaturals and this intrigued Kara. She talked Hall into staying in the city for a while and couldn't wait to discover what made this city special. They hadn’t been in Evermore long when the comet hit, it was pure chaos affecting all the supernatural beings in the state, likely the world.

After a while, when everything had calmed down Kara came to realize that she had gained the ability to turn her immortality on and off. It was a unique gift the comet had given her, but not one she considered using. She was content with her life how it was, however the chance to explore and do more in her life was a interesting thought.
