On June 27, 1996; the De Vries family were about to welcome their very first child. However, Aleta De Vries was concerned about raising their daughter in the situation they were currently in. Hendrik and Aleta De Vries had been moving from place to place, never staying in one area more than a few weeks and leaving not a trace of their existence in that place; except for when they decided to settle down and begin a family. Before they starting moving from place to place, Hendrik began working for a mob boss in Tokyo, Japan. What had caused them so much trouble though, was the fact that Hendrik had been stealing small amounts from the man he worked for. A thousand here, a thousand there, but only from large collections so that it was less conspicuous; however after doing that for a year and the head honcho came to tally up the yearly total, his actions were found out and the man he worked for began hunting him so that he could kill him for stealing from them. By the end of the year, Hendrik had managed to steal and save nearly $300,000, which he used to move himself and his wife out of Tokyo and onto the city of Los Angeles.

Once they were in Los Angeles, Hendrik and Aleta began gambling with their stolen wealth. $300,000 was a lot of money, but if they were going to be on the run for the rest of their lives, they had to be sure they would have enough to sustain their constant moving. They started on July 3, 1992 and by the end of September; they had earned up a total of $1,984,325.67. Satisfied with their new-found wealth, the De Vries began moving once again only this time they decided to drive so that they wouldn’t be as easy to track. On October 1, 1995; the De Vries family settled down in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Feeling as though they were able to take a rest from constantly moving, Hendrik and Aleta began trying for their first child. Their persistent trying paid off, and on June 27, 1996 Aleta gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who they named Karianne De Vries.

Overjoyed by the birth of their daughter, Hendrik and Aleta had decided that it was time to stop running and raise their daughter in the Dutch lands of Amsterdam. The first 4 years of her life, was spent like any newborn human child. However Karianne was definitely NOT a human child, in fact she had a supernatural status as an Initia. Aleta De Vries was a human but Hendrik De Vries was a member of a tribe of Initia in Evermore City; so it was undetermined which gene would be dominant in their daughter. Whether their daughter would be a human, or an Initia, they both agreed that when she reached the age of 5; they would teach her about the Initia species just in case she did develop the Initia gene.

On June 27, 2001, Kari’s 5th birthday, her parents kept their vow and sat their daughter down and explained to her about the Initia and how she may develop those genes in the future. Karianne was indeed shocked by this news, but she kept a smile on her face and hugged her parents. Now that she knew about the supernatural world, she asked her parents to teach her more about the different species especially about the Initia species. Rather than going to school like a normal kid would do, Kari begged her parents to teach her everything they could about the different supernatural species, and how she could survive in that world. Amazed by her eagerness to learn about this world, her parents both agreed to train their daughter in any and everything they knew and strengthen the bond between them. For the next 6 years, the young De Vries girl learned about the many different supernatural species and the eternal city of Evermore, Colorado that was her father’s home. Her parents also taught her other things; her mother taught her the art of ballet and yoga, while her father trained her in self defense so that she would be able to survive whatever was thrown her way.

As June 27, 2008 rolled around; Kari was now turning 12 and began to have other interests alongside that which her parents were teaching her. The interest that had captured the young beauty’s mind now, was gardening. Not just a flower garden, but she also wanted to learn what it took to successfully grow her own fresh vegetables. Seeing as how her parents knew very little about gardening, they found a class in town being taught by a young male around the age of 15. They were sure why a 15 year old was teaching a gardening class, but since it was their daughter’s new-found passion, they signed her up for the class and hoped for the best. Even though she was now enrolled in the gardening class, Karianne never quit on her parents training. Every morning she would do yoga and ballet with her mother, and every evening after class she would do self-defense training with her father. By the age of 14, Kari had become the top student in the gardening class and one day her teacher, who was now 17 years old, got her to stay behind for a moment. When everyone was gone and she was alone with him, the instructor brought her close to him and leaned in for a kiss. Shocked by what had just occurred; Kari had to take a moment to realize what just happened. Her instructor Robert had just kissed her, her very first kiss had come from a male who was 3 years older than her. After a few moments, Kari looked at him and kissed him again, this time engaging in the kiss rather than just accepting it. After that night they began secretly dating, mostly because she didn’t want her parents to know she was dating an older person.

June 27, 2011 was going to prove one of the best and worst days of the young Initia’s life. As the sun rose up in the sky over Amsterdam, a searing pain tore through the young blonde’s body and her lower back seemed to be the epicenter of the pain. As she screamed out in agony, the water in the glass on her bedside table began to bubble before hovering above the glass and changing its shape with each scream she let out. Once the pain had subsided, and the screaming stopped, the water crashed downward and spilled all over the bedside table. Her parents were in the doorway as it happened and looked at their daughter with pride. They explained to her that she was now an Initia of the water element and that she was going to have to work hard and learn to control this new-found power. Her father spent the whole afternoon teaching her how to control the newly discovered element and Kari was amazed by the water’s beauty. However, all good things must come to an end.

On the evening of June 27, 2011; the men that had been hunting the De Vries family all these years had finally found them and wasted no time making their move. WHAM! The front door to the house was forced open, and the men made quick work in grabbing Aleta. Hearing the front door to the house being forced open, followed by the scream of his wife, Hendrik took his daughter by the hand and raced to the nearby storage shed in their backyard. He grabbed a backpack that both he and his wife packed for if this day ever came, and placed it on his daughter’s back. Placing both hands on either of her shoulders, Hendrik looked into his daughter’s eyes with a frown on his face. “Run Kari. Run now and don’t look back. I have to go and face the bad men inside our home, but all of this will be for nothing if you die tonight. Make your way to Evermore City in Colorado, you’ll find others like you. We love you Kari” he said and turned around, rushing towards the house. Karianne looked at her father with tears welling in her eyes. She knew that her father wouldn’t be sending her away unless it was absolutely necessary, and she never once doubted her parents before, so doing what she always did; Kari listened to her father and ran as tears flowed from her eyes. That was the last day Kari got to see her parents, and her birthday was never the same after that.

The next 2 years was tough on the young Initia. She had nowhere to call home, and she had a new power to develop and gain control over. Being on the run from the men who killed her parents didn’t help either. She had to constantly move around, and she didn’t even sleep in any town or city to lower the chances of being caught. The backpack she now had on her back contained a family photo, some clean clothes, and a metal safe-like can. In the can was a bank card, a strip of paper with the bank card pin number on it, and $500 in cash. Using the cash in the can, Kari procured some provisions such as food and water, and a sleeping bag along with a tent that was rather small when packed away. On the second anniversary of her parents’ death, Kari found herself backed into a corner, with the men from that night, surrounding her in the local park located in Orlando, Florida. She looked for an escape route but couldn’t find one, so if she couldn’t find one, she’d have to make one. The thing she did find when looking around was that they were all alone in that park, strangely enough there were no people roaming throughout the park. After realizing this, a grin formed across her face.

She had yet to perfect her water element, but she was good enough with her control now, that she could use it to defend herself in battle. Looking around for a source of water, the young blonde noticed a nearby fountain that had a continuous water flow coming out of it. Concentrating on the water, the blue eyed beauty’s eyes turned a brighter shade of blue, and the water from the fountain began rushing over towards the female. “You messed with the wrong family!” she exclaimed and then used the water like a whip as she spun around and knocked the men backwards. All the men lunged at the female and she did her best to fend them off one by one, but 12 against one was a far disadvantage for Karianne. One of the men hit her from behind in the back of the head knocking her unconscious. The men had instructions to bring her back alive, and now they had the opportunity to do so. However, during their battle a young female had entered the park and watched the battle rather closely.

Once Kari had been knocked unconscious, the mysterious female entered the battle and came to her rescue. Within 15 minutes, the stranger had the men running for their lives and a couple were knocked out and carried away. Kari had woken up just as the men chasing her were running away. As she looked up to see what had caused the men to run away, she saw the mysterious woman looking off into the distance watching the men run away. Once the men were out of sight, the female reached out her hand to help Kari up. When the stranger’s hand took hold of hers, a familiar and excruciating pain rushed through the body of the young blonde. Her screams echoed throughout the park as Karianne’s eyes began to glow an icy white color; and the water that had fallen when she lost consciousness turned to ice. Once the pain subsided, Kari was unsure of what just transpired. The tattoo she received at the age of 15, had somehow changed and unlocked a part of her that she didn’t know she had. However the female now standing in front of her didn’t seem the least bit shocked. It was then that the female introduced herself as Rosalyn Sterling, and explained to Kari that she now had the element of ice, but she still didn’t quite understand what Rosalyn meant. That was when the dark haired female explained that there were in fact 2 types of Initia; Radix which was the type Kari knew, and Privus which was what Kari actually was. After that, Kari and Rosalyn decided that it might be best if the young blonde accompanied Rosalyn and her sisters in their search for other Privus Initia.

Karianne continued her journey towards Evermore City, with new found friends and fellow Initia members. She didn’t exactly know what to expect from the newly discovered ice element, but to help her along the way she had Rosalyn right there at her side. Now at the age of 18 Kari had learned more about her elements, and even learned more about the two types of Initia, as she traveled along with the 3 Sterling sisters and any others that they encountered along the way. Once again Kari was going to have a new surprise thrown her way. Four months before her 19th birthday, on the night of February 6, 2015; a comet landing in the city of Evermore sent out a wave of energy that affected the world’s supernatural beings in different ways. For the Initia clan it unlocked a new element at their disposal, and it did just that for the young blonde Karianne. As the comet crash landed, the excruciating pain accompanied with unlocking an Initia element returned once again as the blue eyed beauty’s eyes changed from their gorgeous blue to metallic silver; and the metal in her bedroom began to clatter and shake in their cases as the element of metal began to take over Kari. Once the pain subsided again, she realized she had now gained the power over metal. Three different elements that came together with short intervals between them meant that she was going to have to do a lot of training in order to master all three.

The year is now 2017 and so much has happened in the past two years. It began with her arrival in the eternal city of Evermore, Colorado where she opened up her very own florist boutique; Heartfelt Flowers. Her business quickly gained notoriety for its beautiful array of flowers and the kind service she provided to each customer. Following the opening of her florist boutique, Kari also opened a greenhouse to give the city of Evermore a touch of freshness. The greenhouse contained many vegetables and she even chose to grow some fruits in it as well. When it came to her diet, the young female always loved the healthier choices. She was present for the good; however she was also present for the bad. Karianne was in the city center, for the lighting of the lanterns ceremony, where she chose to send two lanterns up for her dear parents who gave their lives so that she could live; but as the lanterns rose high up in the air panic raced through the crowd when the lanterns began plummeting back down in flames. It was there that the members of the city discovered that somehow there was an invisible dome shaped barrier surrounding the entire city and the factions surrounding it.

What does the future hold for the young Privus Initia known as Kari? The future may be distant, but with this barrier in play, things are definitely going to get complicated.
