Family: Son of Trinah Aequor (The very first Naiad) and Oliver Aequor
Face Claim: Ian Somerhalder
Killian was born the firstborn child of Trinah and Oliver Aequor, he never experienced any of the life that both of his parents had to endure, they had both been Initia deviants and been outcasted from their lives from the moment they were revealed to be something different. Killian grew up in an undersea kingdom where his biggest fear was the surface above, it was a simple life spent listening to stories of the olden times on the land with his younger brother and sister, Valen and Milah. The young naiad had always been raised with the knowledge of his importance and he would often watch his mother lead the kingdom, leaning the ins and outs of being a person his people could have faith in and trust.
Killian was often described as somewhat of a brat growing up, he often didn't appreciate the privileges and opportunities held out in front of him and still carries a slight level of arrogance to the present. Despite all this, he was kind to both of his siblings and would often share stories and conversations with then. When Killian reached maturity he gained his water wings and was finally able to venture out into the kingdom past his castle, he took advantage of the first opportunity that came to light and he joined the protection patrol which allowed him to venture to the very perimeters, he enjoyed his role on the squad, it gave him purpose and with time his brattiness slowly stripped away to reveal the honourable man underneath.
After several centuries with the perimeter patrol, Killian was called to a meeting with his mother back at the castle he was raised. Killian was curious as to what was happening but when he reached the castle he knew the news was not of positive demeanour. Upon entering the chamber he found his mother over the body of his father, whom had been to the surface and entered a situation with humans, it was unclear as to the how's and whys, but the result was definite. His father was dead.
Killian struggled without his father in his life but he managed to find a way to cope, namely by throwing himself into work, not back to the patrol but to the work he had watched his mother do all those years ago. His mother had taken the death of her mate hard, she locked herself in her chamber and refused to come out and abandoned her duties to the kingdom entirely, with time her ability to call other Naiad to her faded and the gift was passed to Killian.
Killian held his own throughout all of the heartache the loss of his parents caused him and he did his best to keep the kingdom under control, he found it difficult but he called upon his siblings for strength and together they made a 3-way council and worked with one another to rule the kingdom, with time it became routine and his people became his priority. Though Killian had dalliances throughout the years he swore himself off of commitment to another, he became married to his work so to speak.
The day that his mother finally left her chamber was no surprise to Killian, after several years he had learned to accept the fact that his mother had abandoned her family and so when she announced she was leaving the kingdom he allowed her despite his more naive self wishing she wouldn't go.
Life continued as normal for the Aequor family after this and Killian ruled the kingdom alongside his siblings for a good part of a century before everything was shattered. Several humans had been using a underwater travel device to scour the seas and found their way to the Naiad kingdom, Killian was awoke by his previous colleague from the border patrol with the alerting news along with news that they were using a device to communicate with other humans.
Killian called a council with his siblings and after several hours of debate it was decided that they would have to flee the kingdom for a safer area. Having collected items from the surface of the water whilst on patrol he was aware of a city in the north American continent which openly housed the supernatural and the decision was made to make the journey to Evermore city.
As Killian swam away from the place he had called home for the first millennium of his life he promised himself that he would not let humans be the end of his kind, he would do whatever it would take to protect his kind, even if it meant he had to give up his life to achieve it. He just hoped Evermore city would be open to new possibilities.
