Born to farmers in the Irish countryside, Koona (then known as Saoirse) lived a peaceful life, She spent the days helping her parents, who believed girls could do all the chores boys could do - which was quite a statement at the time. She and her brother Aedan, who was only a year older than Koona, were inseparable as children. But, as life tends to do, the pair were torn apart when World War One began and Aedan ran to the battlefield.

Koona, desperate to find her brother, followed him into the fray a year later; disguising herself as a man. It was during her first battle hen Koona was mortally wounded, and would have died, had a vampire nurse not taken pity on her after discovering the young soldier was, in fact, a girl. Taking little time to acclimate, Koona thrust herself back onto the field mere days later, tearing apart her enemies whenever darkness fell. Her efforts were to no avail, however, as she never was able to find the brother so cared for so deeply. Infuriated by this, Koona threw herself at every war she could; a task which became easier as the world progressed and equal rights for men and women were slowly put into place.

Finally, around the turn of the 21st century, Koona decided she'd slipped to far into the darkness and needed to save herself before she lost herself. So, she moved to America and settled in Evermore City. "Settled" being a loose term. In truth, she simply skirted the edge of the city for the first decade, scavenging up whatever blood and shelter she could get her hands on.

Now, though, it's been nine years since she purchased and hole-in-the-wall apartment and cozied up. She's never been one for friends, but tends to turn to one-night lovers and an occasional blood bender to keep her life lively. Koona does, however, genuinely love animals and is quite pleased with her currently employment at Max's Pets.
