Kwan has had one hell of a journey through life. He has had his up and downs and like every other individual who has had made their way in life has quite a story to tell. For Kwan, his is a story of why he is such a responsible person and why he upholds himself to the highest of standards that even he didn’t think he could pull off. Put it simply: he loved himself too much.

But how did Kwan’s story begin exactly? Well, first he was born in South Korea (obviously). But his mother couldn’t care for the child because single mothers were completely shunned in Korea. He was immediately placed into adoption with only a clue to who he was stitched onto the blanket: Kwan. Kwan was soon adopted into the family and he immediately adopted their last name: Wong-Bin. Because the adoption happened so long ago, he thinks his adoptive family are his real family.

He, like any other ordinary South Korean child, took school the moment he was old enough. It was a very good experience as he had quite a few friends to deal with and they all supported each other as they studied like it was their goal in life. They knew it was pretty hard to get a job in Korea from Kwan’s family. They were finding it pretty hard to find a job until a few years after Kwan has gotten into high school.

The moment Kwan was in high school, everything changed. He found school harder and more stressful than the previous school. His friends were in a different school because of money issues and where he lived in South Korea, living further from the high school that his friends attended. It was only in June, when his family finally sat him down and explained some plans that was going to happen: Kwan had a sister (not biologically) who lived in America since she was very young with another family. She was birthed in America and was left there with close relatives. He was going to live with his sister in America because they thought it would be best for Kwan. Of course Kwan didn’t want this but since they thought it was the best choice for him, he had to comply.

A week later, Kwan had everything ready to travel to America. Kwan was nervous, he wasn’t sure how well this will go. But he decided to go for it and see how it was. Upon arriving into America, Kwan immediately found his grandfather waiting for him and ready to take him to his new house. The moment he was taken to his new house, he met his sister and she immediately greeted him, telling him she was very excited to meet him. Kwan didn’t feel right when he shook her hand, it was as if he didn’t feel properly connected to her in the bonding fashion but decided to go along with it for various reasons, including politeness. Trying to get to converse with her was difficult, she hardly spoke to him and actually despised him. But he didn’t know that until he was 17 years of age. He was was sat down with Hyeon and he was shocked to hear two things: He was a nephilim like Hyeon, and he was adopted…

Kwan, like other people who found such information out at his age completely snapped, growling at his ‘family’ before heading upstairs and didn’t bother to speak to his grandparents. Hyeon actually felt sorry for the guy, he lived a lie his whole life and never even knew about it unlike her. Hyeon actually connected to him for once and tried her hardest to speak to him despite her cautious nature, but he kept ignoring her until he snapped once more. This was only stopped when Hyeon smacked him when he calmed down and began to make the effort to get to know his younger sister before speaking to his grandparents again.

According to his grandparents, the two had to train long and hard to overcome their weaknesses of being nephilims. And so endured the hardship of training with ‘so many goddamn weapons’ as Kwan would keep quoting to himself. Kwan did find it pretty easy to train with so many weapons while Hyeon seemed to struggle. Catching on much slower compared to her older brother. But Kwan actually took on the job of being big brother and shown her how the weapons work slowly, she soon understood them and she even decided on her preferred weapon which Kwan couldn’t be happier about.

It was nearing graduation in school a year later and Kwan was busy writing his speech about how he came from Korea and the journey and hardships he endured in Korea before arriving in California in the LRC centre. This was when he heard blood curdling screams from his sister dearest. He didn’t understand why and he rushed to the source, only to enter a classroom of squealing females, a dead teacher on the floor and an open window. Kwan didn’t understand, what was going on. It soon became evident that his sister was kidnapped. And he very well knew who the culprit was upon looking outside the window… Her ex. He quickly dealt with the dead teacher before taking care of other means.

Daniel was constantly beaten up the next day by the nephilim, demanding to know where his sister was. Out of fear Daniel said they were long gone now. He couldn’t believe that Daniel just had his ass kicked by a boy who hardly spoke in school apart to his sister and a few other people within the school grounds, apart from that nobody knew anything about the young male.

Over the next couple of days Kwan took the burden of older brother once more after receiving cryptic text messages of her on his phone and, telling him that she escaped and is in a place called ‘Evermore City’ his grandparents knew where Evermore City was and he said he would go to fetch her because his grandparents can’t in their old age. Kwan didn’t know if he was ready for such a daunting task at hand but he wanted to keep her safe. She may be an angel but angels can get into trouble too as he should know fine well himself after beating the crap out of Daniel. She announced something else in the texts, that their parents in Korea died. Kwan was upset but he decided to hide it. He had a sister to take care of. Only reaching his younger sister two months later after major complications in travel.

The two were reunited after such a long time and they couldn’t be any happier, after discovering they both had different estates from both their real parents, they slept apart sometimes in fears of being too dependent on each other. This didn’t stop the two from continuing the training they adorn and deem as quality time together. And just when everything was looking up for the two siblings they were quickly trapped and had stay in Evermore. Kwan assumed this was some sort of curse for them, doomed to always be on the bad side of the spectrum. Now all he had to do was stay sane inside the supernatural city and not lose his cool, all in the name of Hyeon.
