Born in Washington DC,  Lila  Denali grew up in a fun-loving stable home with her mother Carmen and her father Charlie. Growing up in a town where everyone knew each other wasn’t really all that easy for the Denali family, especially when the family had a secret that could put them all in danger, but  Lila ’s parents were determined to live their lives as normally as they possibly could and so they made the decision to get jobs working in the community.

When Lila ’s mother found out that she was expecting another child, life in the Denali family slowly became a lot harder;  Lila  wanted to help her mother as much as she could. Lila  couldn’t help but feel excited about the idea of playing the role of a big sister. Unfortunately, those dreams of playing the best big sister she could possibly be, never came true because her mother ran away a couple of months before she was due to give birth. The young girl couldn’t understand why her mother left her and her father, separating her from the sibling she had never met. It wasn’t until years later that Lila  finally managed to track her mother and brother down in a small community in Alaska; she discovered that he brother was named Beau and a confused Lila  set her aims on taking her brother away to reunite him with the father her mother had taken from him.

Bella broke into her mother’s new home and tried to take her brother from his crib, but she was caught by her mother, Lila  watched her mother’s blank eyes as she made no effort to stop Lila  was taking her younger brother. Lila  couldn’t help but feel worried for her mother, she tried to get her to come with them, to return home to the family she had left. Lila  once again begged for her to come home with her, but her mother wasn’t having it and told her to get out and take Beau with her, not wanting to anger her mother. She did exactly as she was told, and left her mother’s home and returned to her home in Washington a few days later where she found her father sitting on the porch in tears.

Bella didn’t know what was happening but she decided to take responsibility, seeking her uncle to help her, she left Beau in her uncle’s care while she returned to confront her father. It wasn’t until Beau had been put down for a nap that Charlie finally opened up about what was wrong; Lila  couldn’t help but feel shocked as her life was changed forever. Her mother was dead. She lashed out in anger as she tried to work out what she’d done wrong, she couldn’t understand why things were happening the way they were. Lila  then demanded answers on why anyone would want to kill her beautiful precious mother, and that was when life for Lila  finally began to seem a whole lot clearer than it was before. Her mother died protecting her and her brother;

Her parents weren’t human. In fact, her parents were actually supernatural creatures known as shifters; she learned about who she really was and what she would one day be capable of doing that night. Lila  couldn’t help but wonder what her mother had gone through in her final days before her death. With time Lila  came to accept her mother’s death and life moved on for the young shifter. As the years went on, the people in the town she called home started to notice she and her family didn’t look the ages they were. Lila  & her family were forced to leave and seek a new life somewhere else, though they no idea of where that new home would be. It wasn’t until her father sat her down one night and told her of a place called Evermore City, that things would finally move forward for the family. Things however didn’t play out the way that her father had planned for them to.

Lila was forced to go on the run with her brother when hunters who’d been after her father for years finally caught up with him. Lila  knew that she needed to do whatever it took to protect her brother Beau. She wasted no time on trying to track down the city that her father had told her of; but her emotions were all over the place. Lila  couldn’t help but feel terrified about what was happening to her. Her wrist began to sting and burn and she suddenly remembered the words her father had told her about what would happen when she was tapped to become a shifter.

After her unfilled shifter tattoo appeared, Lila  started to have nightmares of people chanting over her, she didn’t know who they were or what they wanted but the whole experience terrified her; Lila  wasn’t sure what exactly was happened but she knew that she needed to find more shifters. She quickly checked them into one of the local hotels in the city before she went out looking for the shifters, eventually stumbling upon the shifter community.

Lila asked the Evermore shifter clan for their help, she needed people she could turn to the shifters were more than happy to welcome her. Lila  couldn’t help but feel as though she was back in Washington with the people she loved, she was almost sure, that it must’ve been a sign of her father telling her this was home. In her final stages for becoming a shifter she began to feel like she was being ripped apart, the shifters stayed with her throughout the ritual and assisted her. All she could do was feel thankful that she was no longer alone, they took her to the place she remembered in her dreams. Lila  slowly began to feel relief as listened to the clan chanting around her, and within minutes the pain that she thought was ripping her apart…. disappeared.

She’d finally synced with the shifter animal that had chosen her; a beautiful strong wolf that gave her the courage and power she needed to be the sister her brother needed. All she could do was feel glad that her parent’s had given her a chance to have this life. As she opened her eyes in her new form she noticed her brother standing in the shadow’s. She knew she would have to take on the job of explaining to him exactly what was happening; and what would one day happen to him. She knew however that she had some time to find the words to say to Beau as he wasn’t yet at the age of maturity. Lila  just told him that she’d explain it when he was ready, and for now, they’d be remaining in Evermore City.

Lila eventually realized that she had to open up to her brother about what he’d one day have to deal with. Lila  sat him down once they’d managed to find a home in the shifter community; and finally explained to him everything about their parents and the lives they were meant to have back in Washington, she also told him that their parents would want them to remain in Evermore. The pair made the choice to remain in Evermore City for good, and finally have the lives their parents had wanted them to have ever since the moment they were born, and that is exactly what they did. Lila  got her brother and herself back into education; she couldn’t help but feel glad that her life was finally getting back on track, but she also knew deep down she had a lust for revenge on the people who’d killed her parents. Lila  knew that one day; fate would allow her to have that sweet revenge that would give her the peace she needs to finally have a happy ending.
