Lorelai Hall
Faceclaim: Jessica De Gouw
Species: Pure Nephilim.
Age: 25
Status: In the Community.
Family: None.
Lorelai was born into a high class, rich family, both her parents being the down to earth business people which one very rarely found. Her time with them, however, was short; short to the extent where their faces aren't even a distant memory within her mind. Her biological parents were killed in a plane crash, on their way back home from a vacation, when Lorelai was a mere seven months old.
At that point, she was legally taken in by her adoptive parents, one of whom happened to be her biological aunt, Janette Hall (her mother's sister) and Dale Hall. To her, they were her real parents and even upon learning of her parent's death, her feelings for them had ceased to falter. They were the ones she looked up to, despite the fact that they too were constantly on business trips, leaving Lorelai very scarce time to spend with them.
After a while, she began to break away from the life of the rich, the exclusive parties thrown, the rich kids surrounding her at the uniformed NYC school. It wasn't the life she'd willed for, yet she was within it and as much as she loved her parents, the best times and memories which she possessed were those spent with her aunt, Milana, her biological father's sister, in the city of Evermore, Colorado, who was more such her best friend than aunt. The pair spent endless summers together and it was from here, at age fourteen, that Lorelai learned of exactly what the scars upon her back were. She learnt of being a Nephilim, that which her father was too, her mother a human. Milana herself was a Nephilim and she encouraged Lorelai to keep her knowledge of her specie and the supernatural a secret, from her adoptive parents, for they would not fully understand. Lorelai seconded that statement and her lips were shut to the topic, whenever back home. Her visits to Evermore city were so often that it felt more of a home than the plush penthouse in NYC.
Slowly but surely, as Lorelai grew older, she began to become more and more distant from her parents. She didn't share the same views for her future as they did; a top class college, then to enter into the family business. It wasn't the life which she'd always envisioned for herself. A rebellious streak grew within her, though on the inside, Lorelai was still the pure hearted, spirited girl which she'd always been.
After her graduation, her plan was to head to Evermore for a visit to Milana. And if all went well, she would remain there. Her visit was self planned to be a surprise, leading to Lorelai not letting her aunt know in advance.
Upon arrival, things were not as expected. The house which she'd usually found to be filled with the joy brought by Milana, was deserted. At the time of Lorelai's arrival, those friend's of her aunts, whom she had grown close to, had informed her of Milana's death, leaving Lorelai shattered. The only person whom she'd truly connected with was now gone, though this didn't mean that she would return home. She willed to remain in Evermore for a while longer, immersing herself within her true home.
Milana had been the owner of a coffee shop, close to her home, which was then reluctantly being run by Milana's druggie friend, who couldn't care less about the hotspot's income. The place degraded, people no longer looking to it for the 'best coffee in town' as they once did. This led to Lorelai moving forward to claim the rights of the shop, which were all to willingly handed over.
That was the life which she'd envisioned for herself. Something small, simple, such as owning the coffee shop; which she swiftly brought back onto it's feet, as well as expanded.
However, Lorelai was no longer the same person which she previously had been. It was no secret that her aunt's death was a murder; one in cold blood and Lorelai was hellbent on finding the killer and making them pay. Thus, multitasked with her life as a coffee shop owner and witty socializer, her mission was to find the guilty in this supernatural epicenter and make them pay; her main target being the murderer of her aunt, whom she still, to this day, has not found out of, yet has never at a single moment considered dropping the case.
