Annaleigh Lucille Deveraux was born on June 8, 1671 in France. Her family which was just her mother, Juliana, and older sister, Amelia then moved to a small town just outside of Dublin, Ireland when she was just 2 years old. She remembers the struggles of her mother had trying to take care of the family. There was struggles finding food and raising any livestock due to the ban on transporting any goods outside of Ireland. That also made it hard to find any income at the time. She remembers the exhausted look of her mother’s expression but always covered it up with a hopeful smile. Little Annaleigh remembers that her mother and sister always looked out for her and that instilled Anna with a warm heart that she would have, even in her immortal years. She never knew her father because he was out of the picture when the Deveraux family moved to Ireland. She never wanted to know anything about him as she grew older though she’d be lying if she never wondered what things would be like if he was there. Amelia was her half-sister and the man that was her father had passed away when she was just one year old. The age difference was 5 years between Anna and Amelia but Anna always saw her sister as the second mother since she had to grow up right away.

And that’s what happened Amelia pretty much became when their mother got sick in 1686 and died in May. Amelia now 20 years old and Anna 15 had planned to leave the small town in Ireland. Not wanting to stay there anymore and wanting a place to start fresh, they had their mindset on going back to France. Over the next 3 years they had started to save up and wait until they were stable enough to start over in France but during this time, Amelia had found a reason to stay. She had met a man she fell in love with and she was pregnant. She had a family now with the man that wanted to marry her. Anna felt glad to see that her little nephew would having such a loving family but there was also a part of her that was saddened and disappointed. She wanted to leave this place and she was still planning on doing so. Once Amelia and her husband welcomed their baby boy into the world, Anna would leave after that with a promise made to her sister that she’d return.

The young woman was now 19 and the year was 1690. If she couldn’t make it to France, she’d moved just moved from that small town. She was meant to just pass through Dublin but some things don’t always go as planned. She stayed there for over a year and was able to find some stability. She was able to go back and forth to visit her sister when things were going good. The thing is though, nobody was aware of the supernatural beings that lived there. There was a coven of vampires made up of 4 that lived in another small town close to Dublin. One night Anna was walking back to her home when she was attacked. The attacker grabbing her and pulling her to the dark alley has the hand covered whatever muffled scream or plea to let her go. It was then that she felt the attacker stab her neck or what she thought was a knife that pierced her neck. She could feel the blood drip from her neck as tears streamed her cheeks, feeling like she couldn’t move. The vampire was draining her and she was feeling light-headed and dizzy, her eyelids growing heavy as the blood left her body. It was then she felt a release as she fell to the ground. She slowly gained consciousness but there was no promise of it staying. She could hear two male voices, one laced with fury and the other sounded like nothing, no emotion in it. The one with fury kept saying something about keeping out of sight while the other said he was simply hungry. It was then there was someone standing over her and she felt another sharp piercing pain in her neck before completely blacking out.

Anna woke up in an unfamiliar room, panic rushing through her as she remembered what happened last night. The room was only lit by candle light as she tried to let her vision adjust. Her whole body felt sore with every move she made which only added to her panic. Ignoring all the pain, she ran over to the window and at the second her hand touch the sunlight it burned her with searing pain. It then that someone entered the room, a male. She was bracing herself, trying to push back the fear before the voice told her he meant no harm. She didn’t believe him of course until she could smell the liquid in the chalice he was holding. The smell was intoxicating and it was as if the burning pain she just felt moved to her throat. It was as if everything the fear and confusion were pushed aside. She took the chalice and swallowed whatever liquid was in there that soothed her throat. When she went to wipe it away, she saw the back of her hand was bloody. It was then that the male told her everything and what she was now. Everything wasn’t taken with a grain of salt as she was in shock about this but over the next few years, she got her bearings.

She knew she couldn’t see her sister anymore for her family’s safety and the male, the leader of the coven that turned her named Benji helped her with all the vampire needs and how to control them. She became part of the coven family easily and became close to everyone aside from the one who attacked her, Benji’s brother Malcolm. It didn’t take long though for Anna and Benji to be taken by each other. But she didn’t know about the feelings that Malcolm also had for her. She finally felt a sense of family, a new one where she missed her old one. She felt saddened as she watched the years pass that turned into decades. She did send letters to her sister, promising the next Christmas would be the time she comes around but they were empty promises. The letters she sent stopped but that didn’t mean she didn’t stop getting them. Her heart hurt as each one that told her sister’s hurt and when they stopped, she knew what it meant. Her heart broke more than ever. But as time passed, the hurt never left her but she didn’t let it take over anymore.

During the next 100 years, she was engaged to Benji. She was thrilled at the thought and everyone in the coven was happy too except for his brother. The night before the wedding, there was something dark in the air. She woke up to find the house quiet, full of no noise. She exited the bedroom, Benji nowhere to be found before just could smell the blood that filtered the air. She ran into the main room to see all her three family members, all with stakes in their hearts. She then could see Benji with a stake in his heart and she rushed over to him, crying tears of pain from the loss of her family and Benji. She then heard footsteps coming behind her. She dodged away from Malcolm before the wood could pierce her. With all the pain and fury rushing inside her, she managed to fight him off. During the whole thing he kept all he wanted was to be apart of the family. All he wanted was for someone to see the good in him. The stake in his hand flew out of his hand at the strike she got on him and with luck on her side, she managed to grab it. Before he could say anything, she punished him for killing their coven and pierced his heart.

The years after that massacre of her coven happened, the next two centuries blew by her as she watched the world change. She never went by her first name anymore and is now known as Lucy to anyone she meets. That night left a hardened exterior around her and she didn’t care about finding another coven. It wasn’t until the 1920’s she saw a young man that looked like she felt. Lost and hardened with pain behind his eyes. His name was Emmett and seeing such a young man with pain in his eyes brought her back to her old self. He made her feel like the human girl in Ireland. She felt compassion for the young man when she found out about his family and the way he felt about his aunt. She couldn’t imagine how he’d be a burden. She became a mentor to him and taught him how to fight, something she learned over the past two hundred years. She was surprised by how easily he could handle weapons and guns. He wanted to leave Maine and since she found a new best friend, she went along with him to Chicago. All the while, she kept the secret of what she was from him. As he grew older, she didn’t age a day over 20. She stayed with him as he did the mercenary job. Something she was iffy about because of his safety. He was just a human at the end of the day and that line of work could get you killed. But she knew talking him out of something would be useless, he was as stubborn as they come. The years in Chicago went well, she had a job at the diner which she was okay with. She was able to spend time with her best friend, someone she held dear to her heart. She cared for him more than anyone else she had met.

And when that night where he got shot, she knew what she had to do. She bit him and released her venom. She stayed with him the whole time, watching as he was in pain. It hurt her that she couldn’t do anything about but she just had to be patient. She knew he was strong enough to handle the transformation. She more than relieved to see him open his eyes and just like that, it her turn to explain everything and continue to help him through everything. Though, there was something that bothered her. The way the loyalty that he held for her was now stronger. He was now sired to her and she remembered the feeling she had towards Benji. It was something that you strived to make the other person happy. She felt funny about it but Emmett’s assurance that it was all true feelings made her stay the next two decades. She could see where the sire bond was involved and where it wasn’t. But didn’t make that feeling go away. It was in the 1950’s that she’d leave him. Everything was starting to feel forced and artificial. She left him a note stating that distance would do everyone good. Their friendship drifting apart after that.

From then on, she just wandered all over the place. Staying in no place for too long and today, she arrives to Evermore City. A place for supernatural beings to stay among humans in the state of Colorado. She had passed through here once or twice but never stayed. She hopes that since so many found a home here, maybe she can too.
