Born in Dublin, Ireland to Aiofe and Eamon Collins, Nia was the second of four children. Both her and her siblings were born in a troublesome time for Ireland as the Irish grew restless under English control, although both her parents were pureblood they insisted on staying to fight for the Irish cause. Unfortunately they paid for it, when she was 14 years old Nia’s father was killed, shot in the head while taking part in the Easter Rising, devastated Aiofe took her children to the Naiad kingdom.

Although Nia and her siblings knew about their species, and had been to the kingdom many times before it was still a shock to live there full time. It, also, took a while to get over the death of her father and learn to adjust to life without him. Despite this, they lived in relative peace and happiness in the kingdom for many years until the humans discovered them. Nia was devastated by the discovery and panic it had caused especially as she had always loved humans, still remembering the years she had grew up them. She knew that they would have no choice but to leave, and informed her family of the danger they would be in if and when the humans returned. Nia’s mother, however, refused to abandon the kingdom still grieving the loss of her husband.

Watching as all their friends quickly fled from the kingdom Nia couldn’t stand to stay any longer. She had heard of Evermore city, a place many others had described as a sanctuary for all supernatural creatures. For Nia and her brothers and sister it seemed like the perfect place for them to move onto, they didn’t want to lose anyone else in their family. Nia was afraid by the idea of the humans returning and finding her mother there but Aiofe still refused to move, with little choice Nia was forced to leave her mother behind. Worried for what will become of her mother and herself Nia fled to Evermore hoping that it would be as safe as she had heard.
