Bio Part 1- Centuries ago, deep in the heart of Nigeria, the small tribe of Kievajo thrived within the harsh heat and desert landscapes. All across Africa rumors drifted on the wind, whispers in the darkness of the mysterious tribe and what powers they may possess. Some said the Kievajo practiced black magic, others insisted it was some form of voodoo while still others were devout in their belief that they were skinchangers. Those who traveled too close insisted they had witnessed members of the tribe shifting into animals and hunting during the moonlight hours. Due to their odd traditions they became anathema among the other tribes in the region, producing a hatred and fear that led to many suspicious deaths among the Kievajo.

Shauna, the eldest among them feared for the future of her people, their dwindling numbers boding ill for the fate of the tribe. A profound anger blossomed within her, her feelings of powerlessness to stop the slow extinction weighed heavily on her shoulders. Just as she was forming a brash plan in her mind a solution presented itself, a rouge band of vampires were rampaging through the African deserts slaughtering everyone in their wake. Men, woman, and children were ripped apart and brutalized with no seeming way of stopping the pale demons. Shauna however seized the opportunity, knowing full well her sun shifter blood was poisonous to them she gathered up her best warrior's, and waged war on the vampires.

After several months the Kievajo Shifters had eradicated the bloodsuckers bringing an end to the death and mayhem. While the other village were clueless as to how Shauna had accomplished the feat, it was widely known that her tribe had single handedly protected the villages around them. Whether by some form of magic or shear force of will they didn’t care, Kievajo had effectively earned the trust and respect of their neighbors. Little by little the villages merged with Kievajo bringing about a swell in population as the humans sought safety within their ranks. Thus the shifters grew in number, ever the silent guardians of their human family. Hundreds of years would pass from that one fateful act, sealing the community of Kievajo as the hub of life and safety in the region.

Every few years a new incursion may hit the area but it never lasted long as the “magic” of Kievajo safeguarded her people against any threat. The shifter gene was passed down through the generations, each new crop of youngsters were imparted the histories of their people and each new generation brought about the next guardians of the tribe. One such child was Valarie Saldana, a direct descendant of Shauna, and a devout believer in the heritage she had grown up hearing so much about. When Valarie was 19 she was tapped as a Sun Shifter, her grandmother performing the ceremony granting her the abilities that were inherent to her species. She proudly took up the mantle of a guardian, patrolling the countryside in order to keep her people safe.

Her skills were exceptional though it didn’t seem like she would ever get to test them, that is until a young man came stumbling into the village. Covered in blood and rambling about bloodsucking demons that had wiped out his entire village, he fell unconscious before the council fire startling everyone present. With all speed, she and the other guardians slipped out to deal with the menace killing most and scattering the rest to the winds. Unfortunately they looked on in horror at the carnage surrounding them, bodies littering the ground like so much garbage. Valarie returned to her the sole survivor and took him into her home, nursing him diligently through the night.

Valarie came to know him as Matheaus Ateara and over the short period of time the two knew one another love took root within their young hearts. Devoid of a home Matheaus stayed with the Kielvajo, whom he considered his new family, took Valarie as his wife and one short year later welcomed their first daughter Akechya into the world. The couple eventually had 3 daughters in total, Nizhoza and Imealoha, each born 2 years apart. Valarie imparted the history of her people to her daughters, telling them the same stories that she had grown up on. Likewise Matheaus educated them on the other half of their heritage being sure to instill a deep fear of the pale skinned demons that had ripped his people apart.

Years passed as the sister grew, Imealoha strangely became the most confident and flirtatious of the 3 despite her status as the baby. She often found herself wandering from the village, coaxing her sisters into exploring other areas. Even as a little girl Imealoha was fascinated with other cultures and traditions, her interest often leading her into other villages to sit and listen to their histories and legends. Despite her father’s warning Imealoha couldn’t curb her curiosity, constantly feeding her wanderlust and her silent hope that one day she would get out and see the world. Each in their turn were tapped a Sun Shifter, Imealoha taking the form of a leopard. Out in the countryside, away from prying eyes she discovered she could camouflage herself much like her animal counterpart and her steps were virtually silent in reflection of the jungle cat within.

Together the sisters trained, fully expected to take their place in the next round of guardians. Shortly after turning 24 Imealoha cajoled her sisters into going to a small city nearby, her inquisitiveness leading her on a desperate search for a rumor that had been spreading through the local villages. Word was that a beautiful, foreign stranger was traveling through the area, drawn by some of the legends that had originated from the region. After an afternoon of searching Imealoha stumbled across the blonde beauty in a shop, quickly introducing herself to the woman. Enchanted by her new friend, Saskiah, she invited her back to her village as luck would have it the other woman was searching for legends of shifters.

Much to the astonishment of the elder Guardians Saskiah revealed herself as a moon shifter, imparting her quest to tap more moon shifters and bring both sun and moon clans together. Much to her utter astonishment Imealoha looked on as the elders vehemently denounced the blonde woman’s quest, asking her to leave and never return. In explanation the elders believed their powers were superior to the moon clan and their extinction had been nature’s way of weeding out the weakness. Imealoha disagreed with the elders, suddenly disgusted by their high and mighty outlook on things.

No matter how much sense she tried to speak to them they held firm to their beliefs, so the younger shifter decided to leave. Packing her things she was joined by her two sisters, leaving behind their village in Nigeria to travel to America. They tracked down the blond woman Saskiah, humbly apologizing for the actions of their people and asking to join her tribe. The night of the gemini comet the sisters were present, taking on the new abilities that the blaze of fire had granted them. Together they resolved to stay with Saskiah and her tribe, contributing to cooperation among the species and living their lives by their own terms.
