Born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. Nina was one of the relatives of the original founding families of Mexico, however, unknown to her at the time her ancestors also had a massive secret. Life growing up for Nina was amazing. At least, that was until people began to spread rumours about her ancestors, and as she became curious as to why people were calling her family monsters. Nina decided to look deeper into her family’s history. However, as she looked deeper and found the information she was looking for. Nina was shocked to find out that her family had a gene that ran all the way back to the old world, but unsure of how to confront her family with the information she’d discovered.

Nina decided to follow her family and see it for herself; however, as she prepared herself to see something she believed only existed in fairy tales. It seemed to her that if these stories were true. She’d have a lot to accept, but as the night came for her to follow her family. She began to wonder if she really wanted to know. After all, they were her family and nothing was going to change that. She loved them for who they were not for their species, however, just as she was about to leave and let her family be themselves without her stalking them. She was knocked to the ground by a majestic lion; and as she gazed up into its eyes. There was just something about that lion that gave her the feeling she knew it; and as she reached up to touch its cheek.

Nina was surprised to see that the lion didn’t react, and it was from that point. She knew it must have been one of her family members. However, as the lion pulled back and ran away from her. There was no doubt in Nina’s mind that this animal was defiantly one of her family members, but worried how they’d react once the news had spread to the rest of them she knew. Nina decided to return home, however, as she arrived home to find her family waiting on her. It was obvious that she had to face the music sooner or later; and as she walked up to her face her family. She was surprised to see that they welcomed her home with open arms, but as she was left shocked. There was this tiny piece of her that worried this was a setup.

At least, that was until her parents stepped forward and asked her did she enjoy what she’d saw in the woods, and as she tried to talk and explain herself without stuttering. Nina noticed that everyone was beginning to laugh; and as her family told her go come inside and let them explain. It seemed to Nina that maybe they believed she was ready for them to show themselves to her. Although now knowing that the rumours were true and she’d also have to keep her family’s secret safe. It seemed to Nina that her family’s story was only beginning; and when her family told her that she’d also be joining the pack one day. There was no doubt left in her mind that was right about the story, however, for her to become a member of the family’s pack.

Now that was a story she’d never expect to write. At least, not until now, but determined to show her family that she was ready to learn more about the information she’d already gathered. She began to ask them questions about how they became shifters; and as her family took her through each of their stories and how they became shifters. Nina was left shocked, and to hear that every one of her family members had gone through some amount of pain before a ritual had taken place. It seemed to her that life as a shifter wasn’t as easy as she once thought, but remaining determined not to freak out by what they were telling her. She continued to ask questions. At least, that was until her younger brother Seth walked in, and knowing that he wasn’t ready to learn everything that she was learning. She knew that maybe it would be best to wait until later that night to hear the rest, but when he discovered everything she’d found out earlier that day.

Life within the Perez family was about to change forever; and as Seth confronted them about what he’d read. It was obvious that this day would come sooner or later, however, determined to keep her family’s secret safe. Nina told him that it was just a made up story she was writing, but as Seth continued to go on questioning. She knew too well she needed to shut him up somehow, and in a single spare of the moment. Nina lashed out and her brother over the head with a vase; and as she watched him fall to the ground. It was obvious that the guilt was written all over her face. After all, she was the one who was meant to protect her brother, but instead, she was the one hitting him over the head to shut him up.

However, knowing that she only did it to keep those she loved safe. Nina also knew that she’d need to make it up to him, and that was when she decided that she was going to take him camping. At least, that was her plan until Seth decided to go and live with their grandparents, and knowing that it was her fault that he went away. There was no doubt. Nina was the cause of her brother’s pain; and since she knew she took it too far when she attacked her brother. It seemed to her that her family believed she was fed up with him; however, that wasn’t the case. She just wanted to protect him from a life he wasn’t ready for; and when she saw that her mother was also missing him.

Nina decided to travel to her grandparents and get her brother back no matter what the cost. However, as she arrived to see her brother had started a whole new life pretending his family never existed. She knew too well that it was going to take a lot of work to get him to come home, but as she confronted him and had a long talk with her brother in hopes of convincing him. It seemed to her that both of them were in the same boat. After all, they were both about to become creatures of the supernatural world so it only seemed fair that it was her that had a good talk with him, and as he agreed with her to try and rebuild their sibling relationship. Nina was also glad to hear that he agreed to return home with her; and as they set out to go back home to their parents.

There was just something about this trip that didn’t feel right, but knowing that she needed to keep her brother safe no matter what the cost. She decided to take her brother to Evermore City, and knowing that she needed to contact her family and let them know that they’d stopped off for a couple of weeks. It seemed to her that even Seth was having those same feelings. However, none like her brother. Nina was all too aware of what Evermore City was but determined to help her brother also know what the place was. She decided to book them into a hotel; and as the pair explored and Nina finally opened up about what he’d read that night she attacked him.

Nina was left shocked to see that Seth was just like her. He accepted it; in fact, he was excited to know that he was going to become a cool animal one day. However, as he asked her was she scared about becoming a shifter? Nina began to feel this throbbing burning pain on her lower back, and knowing that her family had told her about it earlier that month. She couldn’t help but feel scared, though knowing that she wasn’t going to let her brother freak out when he wasn’t due to become a shifter for another three years.

She decided to lie and protect him, but as the time began to go on, and the throbbing finally stopped. Nina knew all too well what else was about to come; and as she began to have nightmares of people standing over her chanting every night. Nina tried her best to fight against the nightmares, but when her brother began to notice that she was walking around as if she was the walking dead, rather than herself. She was left in shock to find that everything her family had told her was coming true, but unknown to her at the time that her brother had gone out looking for shifters who’d be able to her. Nina was left stunned at how painful the transition actually was, and as the night of her 18th finally came and the pains became unbearable.

All she could think about was how much she missed her family, and wishing that they could be with her to help her through it. Nina knew all too well that it was impossible. After all, she was in Colorado and her family was in Mexico, but as she began to feel as though she was being ripped open. Nina was left begging and screaming for help, and as her brother rushed in with people who he believed could help her. There was no doubt in Nina’s mind that Seth was the best brother she could ever wish for; and as gazed up at people who helped her out of the hotel and into the nearby woods. However, as she was left gazing at the trees as the people her brother brought began to chant over her. Everything painful she once felt began to disappear; and as she brought her gaze from the trees to her brother.

There was not a single part of her that wasn’t grateful to him for saving her; and as she was left listening to these people as they continued to chant. Nina was soon brought to shock as she changed from her human form to a beautiful white tiger, however, as soon as she began to stand and the excitement rushed through her. There wasn’t a piece of Nina that wasn’t keen to get out there and explore the world in her new form. Nina leaped up and went for a long run before returning back, and as she changed back into her human form and all the excitement continued to rush through her. Nina was finally alive again, however, worried how her brother would react now that he was the only human left in their family. She decided to ask a favour of the people who helped her; and since she and Seth liked the city more than they would’ve expected.

Nina decided that maybe it would be best for them to remain in Evermore. However, as she and her brother moved into their new home and she thought about her parents. Nina soon realized that she’d need to contact them, and knowing that they’d likely be upset and disown her for the choices she was making for her and her brother. All she could really hope for was that her parents would accept it; however, knowing that her parents weren’t too pleased with the fact she left Mexico anyway. It was obvious that when she called their talk could go one of two ways, but determined to stand up for what she and her brother wanted. Nina was sure to contact the moment she got settled into the shifter community; and as she spoke to her parents about the unexpected move.

She was shocked to find out that her parents were happy with it, however, demanding that she and her brother return home during holidays. Nina knew that wasn’t too much to do for them, especially since she moved her and her brother halfway across the country, but also knowing that she needed to get her brother back into school, and get a good job where she could make enough money to support them. Nina was glad to see that the faction was willing to help her; and as she got everything back on track and managed to get a job that also let her return to school herself. It seemed to her that everything was finally changing forever; and since she and her brother had now begun their lives somewhere else other than Mexico.

It also seemed that for the first time in centuries. The Perez family were going to explore a different part of the country, however, knowing that she’d never forget the people and a life she had back home. Nina was also sure that she remained in strong contact with every one of them. At least, that was until a comet struck Evermore City, and when she was brought down in pain like everyone else in the city. It seemed that live for Nina was once again about to take a turn she had no idea where the path would take her, however, determined to remain strong for her brother. Who’d also now become a shifter? Nina was glad to discover that since moving to Evermore City. Their relationship had also recovered, and feeling glad that her brother was determined to join the medical profession like her. It began to look like they’d become unbreakable.

However, now the pair lives apart and though they may both work within the same medical profession. Nina has since decided that she wants to try and specialise in another practice so that she can expand her medical help, however, also hoping that one day her family will join her within Evermore City. She still hopes that they can forgive her for the unexpected life change she’d made for her and her brother without their permission.
