Deep in the heart of Louisiana hospital a woman by the name of Georgia Leeann Michaels was in labor for over twelve hours; before finally giving birth to a healthy little boy whom she named Reese Jacob Michaels. The father was a useless bastard that wanted no part of his son’s life nor wanted to be part of hers as well. Hurt and all alone with a newborn Georgia set her sights on to make a good life for little Reese and herself. No family to aid her and no father to help take care of Reese she had to work full time and pay neighbors to watch little Reese.

Luckily enough for Georgia when Reese had turned about five years old she’d been in a long term relationship with a man who’d taken on the responsibility of Reese. With Reese’s real father having signed away his rights to Reese, Jonathan Ornelas legally adopted Reese and later married Georgia. Jon and Georgia never had any other children they both spoiled Reese knowing that one day he’d come questioning who his real father was, but for now they wanted to give him the best childhood they possibly could.

Life was great for awhile in the Ornelas family until Reese grew into his teenage years. Georgia and Jonathan began struggling with Reese’s outburst of bad behavior. They couldn’t wrap their head around what could have been changing their son. Come to find out Reese’s father had been in contact with him, his father had gotten him into using street drugs. The man who wanted nothing to do with Reese as a baby had slipped his way into his life and began to corrupt him. Georgia and Jon knew they had to something to put a stop to Reese’s biological father corruption; otherwise they were going to lose their son to an overdose.

The Ornelas tried everything from restraining orders to court appearances; Reese had gotten addicted to cocaine and dropped out of school, because of his father. The only thing left to do was for the family to move from Louisiana so Reese’s father couldn’t supply his drug addiction anymore. Reese was about seventeen years old when Georgia, Jonathan and himself packed their things and moved to Evermore City, Colorado. Reese had gotten clean and into Evermore City High school; where he finished out the rest of his high school years and graduated at top of his class. He had a lot of potential to do better things with his life, but Louisiana was a place that had influences he didn’t need to have around him.

Unfortunately Reese only stayed clean for about two years before falling back down the path of addiction. A month after he’d turned twenty; his mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Depression hit hard when the doctors informed the family that Georgia only had months to live. Reese couldn’t imagine life without his mother, the one he protected with his life no matter what. He became withdrawn from his family, Georgia and Jon knew he’d been using again since they’d gotten the news. Since her diagnoses months turned to weeks. Her cancer aggressively spread through her entire body, Georgia Ornelas died being held in the arms of her son.

Georgia’s dying wish was for Jonathan to help Reese get clean; she wanted nothing, but to see her son thrive and make something of himself. Weeks after Georgia passed away Reese disappeared into the streets of Evermore city, Jonathan searched everywhere for his beloved adopted son. While searching Jon had gotten a phone call from the Evermore City PD; they said they had found Reese overdosed in an abandoned apartment. Reese was rushed to the hospital where they immediately began detoxing him. Jon arrived at the hospital with tears in his eyes as he slowly walked into his son’s room. “Reese, I love you.” He whispered as he lent down kissing Reese’s forehead.

When Reese woke from his overdosing he saw his father and a couple men in suits watching over him. “Reese” His father spoke as Reese had become more alert. “Yeah dad?” Reese asked in a hoarse whisper. “ You are going to get help… I promised your mother before she died I would help you get clean.” Reese’s eyes widened at his father’s words. “What?! You’re sending me to rehab!” He growled. The men in the suits grabbed out their handcuffs and handcuffed Reese. “How could you do this to me!” He hissed at his father. “It’s what best for you! You’re mother knew what you could become if you’d just clean up!” Reese struggled in the arms of the men who hoisted him out of his hospital room. The tears lingered in his ice blue eyes as he stared helplessly in his father direction.

Reese felt as if his father had given up on him and decided this is what was best for him. Jon knew that Reese would hold some sort of hatred for him for years to come, but he knew that it was best for Reese to get professional help. At least if he got professional help in a facility he had less of a chance of relapsing.

By the time Reese was discharged from rehab; he was about twenty-five years old. While in rehab Jonathan paid for the house that they’d all lived in and moved back to Louisiana leaving the estate to Reese for when he’d gotten out of rehab. Jonathan knew that Reese wouldn’t want him in his life anymore not after how he ‘betrayed’ him. Reese returned to his almost empty home in the Evermore City, Suburbs. The only thing Jon had left Reese was his own personal belongings along with his mother’s things. Ever since leaving rehab Reese has managed to stay away from street drugs. Currently he is going back to school to major in art and currently works a 2nd shift factory job in Evermore City, Colorado. He still holds onto his hatred for his adopted father and his biological father, but mourns the loss of his mother as well.
