Born and raised in Australia. Ryan was the middle child of a very close-knit family known as the Kenner’s, but none like the rest of his family who were open to the lifestyle that had been chosen for them. He, on the other hand, wasn’t. In fact, he detested the lifestyle that had been given to him and determined to remain distant from anything that had to do with becoming a part of the supernatural world. Ryan decided that he wanted to go traveling. At least, that is what he wanted until he got to see what a shifter actually was, and as he grew interested in the world he once wanted nothing to do with. It quickly became obvious that Ryan was easy won over by his family’s new ways of teaching him.
Ryan decided to stay home and learn. However, as his family came together and taught him about everything he’d need to know about becoming a shifter. There was no doubt that Ryan was a fast learner, and as much as he tried to make it look like he didn’t pick things up when his family told him. His family also noticed that Ryan liked to joke a lot. At least, that is what they thought until they saw how serious he became when his little sister was welcomed into the world, and when they saw his shire determination to make sure that his sister didn’t grow up with the same fears he did.
His family were stunned to see how quickly Ryan had accepted his new sibling; and also left shocked when he managed to teach his sister everything he had learned over the years in a much easier fashion. It also became obvious that one day Ryan could make a perfect leader and father, however, that day of becoming a father coming a lot sooner than anyone of them could’ve expected. Everyone was left shocked when Ryan walked into the house with a little baby in his arms that he’d named Primrose, however, the family also noticing that the young girl was slightly older than a new-born baby.
Everyone slowly began to doubt that Ryan was the child’s father, at least, that was until he told his parents he’d saved the child from hunters, and as he continued to explain everything his family needed to know about Primrose. His family were left shocked to find that Primrose was a member of one of their old family friends, and considering Ryan had grown up with a massive crush on their eldest daughter. It was really no surprise that when she called him for help he’d go to her. However, their happiness of seeing Primrose live being short lived when their own family came under attack.
The family was forced to flee and split up. However, Ryan remaining lucky as he managed to keep Primrose and his sister close to him. It was obvious that he wasn’t as soft as many would’ve believed. In fact, he never was fearful of becoming a shifter. He only hated the fact that he didn’t have a choice in the matter, but the more he grew to understand it. The more it became obvious that Ryan was keen to meet the animal that would one day be bonded with him forever.
At least, that is what he felt until he was forced to flee, but determined to be reunited with his family one day. Ryan began to think back to the other things his family had told him; and that was when he remembered a place his grandmother had told him about, however, worried he would be forced to separate from his sister and in his eyes daughter. He decided that maybe it would be best if he remained hidden. At least, until things quietened down with the hunters stalking his family, and as he looked for a place he could possibly live with the two little girls in his life. Ryan was left relieved to find an old abandoned cottage buried deep in the woods and hidden by thick trees, but as he turned the little cottage into a place more livable.
He quickly realized that there was a lot more things he’d need if he was ever going to make this life work and that was when he decided to get himself a part-time job, however, the job only lasting a couple of months when he was forced to flee again. It was obvious that life for Ryan was slowly becoming unbearable, and as much as he wished he could confront the hunters that were trying to kill him. He was left with nothing but questions as to why they were actually after him. After all, he hadn’t become a shifter yet so why to chase a guy who only has two small children with him and that was when it all clicked. They wanted to stop the next generation of shifter’s being tapped; and determined not to let them find him or his sister and daughter.
Ryan decided to risk it all and go to Evermore City. However, upon arrival in the city that he quickly realized was filled with creatures that were from the supernatural world. He wasted no time on trying to track down some of his very lost family members, and that was when he discovered that his elder brother had moved into the shifter faction of the city, but worried that his brother wouldn’t want their sister or Primrose at his door. Ryan decided that he was going to look for another place to live, however, that plan of finding shelter was drowned when he was forced to live on the streets with his sister and Primrose, and as life only seemed to go downhill from there.
At least, that was a female that seemed to know his brother found him and surprised that she seemed to welcome him in with open arms. There was no doubt Ryan was left with nothing but questions. However, his questions all becoming answered within a few small chosen words. It was obvious that this female must have known him from somewhere; and when he decided to ask her. He was surprised to discover that this female was his long lost sister his mother had told him about once, however, unable to fully understand how she was able to tell who he was. It wasn’t until he began to have proper conversations with her that he realized that she’d been watching him from the distance, and although that should’ve caused him to freak out. It didn’t.
In fact, it only caused him to feel like he had an angel watching over him, and as he began to build a strong bond with his elder sister. He was surprised to see how quickly she’d taken to their younger sister and Primrose, however, as the time when on and he watched how his sibling and Primrose seemed to grow into these two beautiful young girls. He couldn’t help but feel curious what type of lives was out there for them; at least, that was until his sister stepped in and got them into proper education and helped him get back into school, however, his time at school quickly being drawn to a close when he began to notice changes.
Ryan began to believe that it would be best to avoid contact with the other species that lived in the city, but knowing that was going to be a lot harder than it looked. He called on the help of his elder sister, and feeling glad that she was able to help him deal with the many things that were happening to him. Ryan couldn’t help but feel glad that the night he got his shifter tattoo he was at home playing games with his sister’s and Primrose, however, his wish for the same thing to happen when he was to shift didn’t work out. When he began to feel as though something was ripping him open from the inside out; and as he screamed out and begged for his family’s help.
He was surprised to see that his brother had appeared by his side; and as his elder sister and some people that were chanting over him appeared. Ryan was left begging for them to leave him alone, however, unknown to him at the time they were helping him get rid of the horrific pain he was in. It wasn’t until he shifted into a beautiful white polar bear; and though he was confused as to why the polar bear had chosen him. He didn’t actually mind, in fact, he found it amazing because he felt as though now he was a massive soft bear he could give better hugs, however, when he began to notice that he also had another little twist to his new life as a shifter. There was no doubt that Ryan’s adventure was only beginning.
However, after a couple of months of getting used to his new life, he decided that he wanted to get a job. Although knowing that he’d need to return to school/college just to meet most of the places requirements. Ryan wasted no time on getting back into education; and although he found himself enjoying many different things throughout his educational days. He was surprised to notice that he enjoyed the same kind of medical work his sister did, at least, that was until he realized if he was a doctor he’d rarely be around his daughter Primrose, and as he thought back to the promise he’d made her mother.
Ryan decided to choose a different path that best suited being a father figure, and that was when he decided to go into police work. Why? He believed he could make a difference to the city he called home, and knowing that he wanted to specialize in Special Victims. He was glad to see that Evermore City had a Special Victims Unit; and as he began to build on his new job whilst remaining a good father. Ryan was also able to move on from his own little nightmares that seemed to haunt him from his days of running from hunters, however, still remaining strong for those he loved around him.
He decided that it was best if he stopped living under his sibling’s roof, and that was when he went out and used some of his money to put down a deposit on a house. However, also feeling deep down that Evermore City still wasn’t fully a home without the rest of his family around. Ryan began to wonder what exactly happened to them, at least, that was until he discovered the truth. His family had all perished in a fire that hit the woods they were hiding in, and as much as he wished he could turn back the clock and save them. He knew all too well that was never going to happen, but knowing that he could make them proud of doing what was right. Ryan wasted no time on making it his hobby to help other people that have gone through traumatic experiences. However, after remaining in his job for a couple of years and realizing that he wanted to also try and bring lost family’s back together.
Ryan was left surprised to see how well he was able to multitask; and as he began to dig into the missing people's files. He was left stunned when his boss slammed the book down and told him to focus on his actual job, and knowing that his boss was properly right and it was for the best he didn’t do too much digging. Ryan decided to go back to doing his old thing like he’d originally went out to do.
At least, that was until the night of the comet arrived, and as he watched the massive ball of light fly over the city. Ryan was left with tons of questions that he knew all too well would be ones that he’d never get answers to; and as he along with the rest of the shifter faction fell down in horrific pain and passed out. It wasn’t until a couple of hours later that he woke up to find everyone was slowly waking up too, but knowing he needed to make sure his family was alright before anything. Ryan stumbled across and fell by his siblings who had wakened up a few minutes before him; and before he could even check on the rest of the faction.
He noticed that there was something different about the faction, and that was when he saw that there were now two types of shifters in the faction. The sun shifter and the moon shifter, but determined to make sure made everyone feel at home. Ryan wasted no time on making those who were new to the faction feel welcome, and as they all went to see where the ball of light had landed. It soon became obvious that Evermore City was in a little more trouble than they thought. How? The comet had hit the dam, and knowing that if someone tried to move it the city would be destroyed. All he could hope for was nobody would be that stupid to do such a thing, however, unable to dwell too much on the dam when he was called on a case that would soon change his life forever.
Ryan was shocked to find that this case was little too close to home for comfort, but knowing that he had to take each case as if it was like any other. He was forced to remind himself he needed to keep this job for the sake of his child, and that was when everything seemed to fall back into place for him, however, unknown to him at the time that this was just the start of a story that has been dying to be told.
