Life is like a box of chocolates so goes the old saying Jasmine believed she had it all when she met Killian she was only 15 and knew instantly this was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. The couple rarely ever fought they both knew they wanted to focus on their schooling and then get into good careers. The pair were perfect for each other in every single way, they knew exactly what the other wanted without having to discuss it too much. They were married by the time they turned 18, Jasmine went to school to become a Law school Professor she graduated with Honours years before her fellow students. Everything seemed to be going smoothly and just the way she had planned it.

Little did she know that her husband would never want children, like she did, like she had planned for her future. The subject never really came up he was too busy working as was she. Jasmine felt the tick tock of her biological clock and sat her husband down to have a conversation about children the woman had been hopeful after all they had been together since they were 15 and they were now 30. The conversation went nothing like she had hoped for her, in her head the conversation had gone swimmingly well. The reality was her husband didn’t want children and he would never want them. He very much so enjoyed their life as it was and he didn’t want to add a child that would upset the balance.

After that night their relationship grew rocky Jasmine wanted desperately to have a child while Killian remained steadfast he did not. The once happy couple began fighting on a regular basis which caused a lot of strain on them, Killian couldn’t stand the unhappiness at home and soon entered into a secret affair to try and find some semblance of happiness for himself. After another 3 years had passed Jasmine discovered Killian's affair and Killian decided he was happier with the other woman and he left. Still wanting to have a child she went to a local sperm bank more so out of curiosity she had not been expecting to actually start the application process.

Jasmine spent the next few months pouring over the different candidates, but she kept coming back to the first application she had looked at. A young man his entire bio jumped out at her there was some connection and she wasn’t sure why, she finally worked up the nerve to agree to the whole process and before long Jasmine was pregnant with her first and only child. Spending the next few months preparing herself for the arrival of her child, Jasmine made sure she was as prepared as she could be for motherhood. In the early morning hours of August 22nd Jasmine gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, Seniah Abigail Rose.

The baby was taken and examined and revealed to be hearing impaired at birth, she had slight hearing but not much. The doctors predicted that she would lose all her hearing by the time she was 1, Jasmine loved her daughter no matter what. She gave Seniah all she could and showered her daughter in love and affection, Seniah would never know a life where she couldn’t make her dreams come true Jasmine learned sign and taught it too Seniah. The two even formed their own version that nobody else would understand but them, Seniah excelled in school despite being deaf.

The older she became, the more she tried to mimic the spoken word, by the time she was 10 Seniah was able to actually speak using her own voice. She was able to read people’s lips, her voice range varied from normal to too soft or too loud sometimes, due to not being able to hear herself. People who are close to her often forget that she is deaf because Seniah doesn’t act like anything will slow her down. She acts as most hearing people do, the only thing most people needed to adjust to is facing her when talking to her.

Seniah had a knack for learning and absorbing information like a sponge, languages, books, grammar, anything written Seniah could always be found reading a book. She loves to sit and read National Geographic books, to learn about the world around her. One thing Seniah never really wished for was the ability to hear, she was used to her life this way and didn’t know it any other way.
Seniah learned everything she knows from her mother or from books, if you’ve ever watched the show Gilmore Girls that is almost exactly how Seniah and her mother Jasmine were. They were pretty inseparable and Seniah told her mother everything she didn’t have any secrets from her mother. Her mother had always enrolled her in any and every program she could get Seniah into, Often participating herself or volunteering, to try and give Seniah the best shot at life. Because of how sociable Jasmine had raised her Seniah made friends very easily and became very popular all through her school career. She was an honour roll student all the way through her school Career and now with her being in College it was looking like she will be on the honour roll there as well.

Jasmine took ill when Seniah was in grade 8, she didn’t allow her sickness to slow down her daughter’s life, Jasmine tried to keep encouraging Seniah to keep up with her activities so she had things to do when her mother wasn’t feeling well enough to help her. This of course prompted Seniah to ask questions about her father, who was he? Did he love her? Did he want to know her? Would he be there to support her if something happened to her mother? Jasmine always shot Seniah down, she didn’t want to discuss the circumstances that revolved around Seniah’s father. This caused a rather huge rift and strain on the mother and daughter duo because up until this point Seniah believed they had no secrets from one another. Most teenagers would act out towards their parent for this but Seniah remained a genuinely good and well behaved child, her grades remained high, and she stayed in all her extra curricular activities.

When Seniah turned 18 her mother’s health had reached an all time low, with no hope of her mother recovering this time. Seniah’s heart was breaking how was she to go on living her life without her bestfriend and mother? Just three days after her 18th birthday her mother passed away. Seniah still knew nothing of her father, her mother literally took that secret with her to the grave. At her mother’s will reading Seniah learned that her mother left her the house and all of her money, as well as a trust fund her mother had set up for her. Taking the next few weeks to go through everything her mother had in her office and making sure to sort through her mother’s financials to make sure she didn’t default on any payments. Seniah came across a locked drawer in the desk to which she couldn’t find the key and used some tools to break open the draw. Within the draw was a file on Seniah’s biological father, or rather the sperm donor who was her father.

Was this why her mother never told her, did she think Seniah would look down on her for using a donor versus being with someone? Seniah’s heart broke just a little bit as she hugged the file to her chest. That night she slept on the floor of her mother’s office, when she woke the next day she set herself back on task. She used her downtime to do research on the internet about the sperm donor, his name was Ambrose Griffin; there could not possibly be that many Ambrose Griffin’s in the world could there? When she wasn’t researching about him she was packing up items in the house she would never use or that someone could benefit from more than she could, to donate.

Finally, one day her hours and hours of research paid off she discovered an Ambrose Griffin in Evermore city, he worked at the Evermore Daily, in fact he was the CEO and Editor. Seniah’s heart jumped he was a writer just like she was, they had that in common that was enough for him to want to know her.

Seniah packed up as much as she thought she would need in her car and she drove herself to Evermore City, upon arriving there, she checked herself into a hotel that wasn’t too far from where Ambrose worked. Taking the rest of the day to mentally prepare herself to go and meet him, it was a spur of the moment visit he had no idea she was coming. Pulling on her running shoes and pulling her hair up into a ponytail she headed out with the files in her purse and cellphone in her jeans pocket. A large smile had been plastered to her lips as she walked down the street, but that smile would soon fade. She didn’t hear the horns honking or the people screaming as she went to cross the intersection, a man on a motorcycle was hit by and on coming speeding car and Seniah was hit next sending the young woman flying. She blacked out before the ambulance arrived, little did she know this is where her story truly begins.
