Have you ever seen a falling star? The way it burns so brightly? You’d never know there was a person inside of it.

Hanuel or Hannie as he goes by was the happiest star in his constellation and the most affectionate. In 1861 from the Capricornus Constellation, Hanuel fell. For one lucky woman named Park Jisoo in Wonmi gu, Bucheon-si, South Korea, this was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen and she rushed atop the grassy knoll she had seen it fall, the falling star had looked like a glowing stone from her point of view. For Hanuel it was the most painful experience, excruciating pain everywhere and the feeling of hitting something harder than he had ever hit before.

Waking up was confusing for Hanuel. He wasn't sure of his name, and definitely didn't remember much of what had happened to make him fall. He just remembered pain, a lot of pain. His skin had changed too, instead of glowing like it normally did, it was a perfect creamy white. Hanuel didn’t look different to himself, except for the fact that he looked like a human. He had seen several walking around after the lady had found him.

Jisoo had been very surprised to find that the fallen star she had been chasing had turned into a human, a very attractive human wearing era appropriate clothing. She tried to find out his name, but he seemed to not remember it. Deciding not to pry, Jisoo took him to her home and fed him, and then lent him better clothes than he was wearing and gave him a bed to sleep in. A few weeks into staying with Jisoo and staring in the mirror at the mark that was under his left pectoral muscle, Hanuel remembered his name. “Ahn! Ahn Hanuel” He had yelled towards the female with a bright smile. Jisoo sighed in relief, she finally knew his name! Hanuel was incredibly grateful to her and stayed with her until she died in 1905 at the age of 65.

Hanuel lived in the same house Jisoo had, as he had fallen in love with her while she was alive. He flitted through the decades, watching the world change and the wars that tore Korea apart. Hanuel had often thought he was the only fallen star in the country, but he wasn’t. He had met others that explained their stories and what they had been through.

After he had been on the earth for several years, he was invited by his Celestial friends to come live on the Isle of Skye. Thinking of how it would nice to live with his friends, Hanuel agreed and traveled there. At first it was peaceful and everyone was so friendly. But that soon changed. The Ailward Guards they had thought were their friends, had betrayed them and began locking them up in the dark. This is where Hanuel’s extreme fear of the dark and small spaces comes from.

For a few days, Hanuel had no hope that he would ever get out of the extreme torture that the Ailward Guards had placed upon him. But that soon faded as he heard rumors that one of the Wayfinders, Ophelia Drevayalin, was still alive. He had also heard the Ophelia cared a lot for her people. As soon he felt the Isle shaking, he knew that Ophelia had come to save them.

After escaping, he decided to stick with the other Celestials. Being one of the younger ones, the older ones led him to Evermore. A place where all species and status could live together peacefully.

In his time in Evermore, the beautiful city of his new home, Hanuel adopted an American name to help him fit in to the society. Going by the name of Skylyn Ahn, he eventually took up college classes and got his teaching degree. He also took an interest in bartending, and making new drinks.

He is cautious of his identity of a Celestial as he does not want the Ailward Guards to find him again, and often says the mark he bears is a tattoo, which he has one. Hanuel also adapted to the culture of Americans by dyeing his hair often and wearing clothes that teenagers liked.

In 2018, Hanuel met his sister Jaehee and brother Seungcheol. The always happy siblings of the Capricornus constellation. He didn’t know they existed until they sought him out. Joyfully reunited, they all live together in the Celestial Castle, and are the biggest pranksters.
