Sophia King was born into a large family. As the middle child of seven in a nomadic family, she found herself in chaos upon more chaos. Sophia grew up with three older brothers, then two younger sisters and a younger brother. While all of her siblings and her mother had gifts of air, earth and water, Sophia was the only child who received the fire element off her father. She was constantly joked about when it came to her siblings but it was okay because her father favoured her. She was his princess. Her brothers and sisters would constantly try to one up her, knowing that she was gifted. However, she didn’t mind the hectic lifestyle. She thrived on disorder. While her elder brothers teaching her how to fix up cars and motorcycles, Sophia learned how to defend herself against anything or anyone who could harm her. Her fire gift came to her on her fourteenth birthday, Sophia instantly taking charge of her power and becoming skilled in her art.

Sophia's family moved to Eternal City, Colorado where many supernatural resided, shortly after her seventeenth birthday. After a few weeks, it was obvious to Sophia that her father was not comfortable in the supernatural city. He was slowly changing into a man who was no longer her father, simply a shell of him that was always looking around, paranoid that he would be taken at any moment. In Sophia's eyes, her father was going crazy and there was nothing she could do about it. She learned countless survival techniques and lessons from her father and lived by the words of him. “ Your best friend is yourself, and your ability to think quick".

For her 21'st birthday she was gifted with a knife by her erratic father. He was making a point in telling her that he loved her and that if anything happened she would have to run. Confused, Sophia took the knife and questioned her father but with a kiss to her forehead, he was gone. That was the last time that Sophia saw her father. Her family refused to talk about what had happened and this slowly drove the young Initia crazy. She never said it in front of her family, but her father meant the world to her and yet there they were acting like nothing had happened. She knew deep down they were all hurting but they were afraid to talk about the subject as if it would result in another family member disappearing.

After many months, her family began to return to normal. They felt like a family again, only with their father missing. Sophia tried to help her mother around the house as if being the eldest daughter meant she had to step up but she simply couldn't connect with her mother like she did with her father. She felt horrible that she was unable to reassure her mother that everything was going to be okay. Sophia taught her younger siblings how to use their powers, training them to become like her. Sophia was clearly the most talented among her brothers and sisters and they all looked up to her for that, even her older brothers. She could admit to herself that things would be okay.

As if life knew she was feeling better, it decided to tear her world apart. One night, Sophia and her oldest brother Elliot ventured from the mountains to go to the city and make friends with some other supernatural beings. Sophia had felt the happiest she had been since her father disappeared. The group she was with thought it would be fun to adventure through dark alleyways and streets. Suddenly, she heard three loud gunshots and dropped to the ground, covering her head, her group of friends were all screaming and it was if time had slowed down. Sophia turned her head to look for her brother and screamed at what she saw. A stray bullet had hit Elliot in the heart. She instantly went to her brothers side and tried to heal him, yet her efforts were useless and Elliot was dead in seconds. Sophia curled up to her brother and cried but her intuition was telling her to run home and find her family. Something was going on and she needed to get home and warn everyone in the Initia tribe.

As she ran home, chaos was everywhere. Her first instinct was to go straight to her home and tell everyone to find shelter. The poor girl was hysterical, barging into the main room covered in tears and blood. Yet the moment she stumbled through those doors, she dropped to her knees. There was blood everywhere, on the walls, on the floor and on the bodies of her family. Her gaze moved to the bodies of her mother, two older brothers and two of her younger siblings. She was distraught and confused, one of her younger sisters was missing. Sophia assumed her little sister had escaped but had no way of knowing. Soph simply sat there, unable to cry anymore. She sat there for what felt like hours until someone found her and took her to a safe shelter. Not wanting to speak, she listened as some of the older members told her about the massacre and about the upcoming war. Sophia was furious, first her father disappearing and now the unjust killing of her family… What else was going happen to happen? Sophia was alone now.

Now Sophia simply spends her time in the presence of Aurora, her magister or spends hours working on her gift, training for anything that could hurt the rest of her tribe. Even though Aurora is younger than her, Sophia finds comfort in talking to her, whether its about her family or about her fire gift. One thing however, constantly lingers in the back of her head. Sophia does hope that one day her father or younger sister will show up in the mountains but she knows the odds and she doesn’t dwell on them. From time to time she does pull out a wrinkled up picture of her family when she’s missing them. She doesn’t cry about it and she doesn’t hide it from people if they ask her about it. Sophia simply sees it as a reason to never back down and constantly be on her guard.
