Tabitha was the youngest of her siblings, two brothers. This led her parents to dote on her as the baby and the only girl. Her brothers hated all the attention Tabitha got, and always took it out on her by bullying her, physically or verbally. She found it was best not to try and defend herself, or it would get worse. She learned to sit back and just take it.

When she was in school, this shyness carried over. Though she smiled at everyone she passed, she was too shy to approach anyone and make friends. So, at school she was alone. She was bullied a few times, but not as much as by her brothers. When she saw someone getting their books pushed out of their hands or pushed down, she would always wait until the bullies had moved on and then silently help the person up or to pick up their books.

Even through all this, she stayed cheerful. She always thought about all the ways her life was good, and that cheered her up if she was feeling down.

One day, Tabitha awoke with a searing pain on her shoulder. The pain was horrible. That night, she dreamed strange dreams with animals in them.

Another day passed, and she woke with a strange sun tattoo on her shoulder. She was baffled as to how she had gotten the tattoo, but it would not come off no matter how much she scrubbed.

One day, she was walking in the park when a group of people approached her. They said they were shifters, members of the Sun Tribe, which apparently she was part of as well. She wouldn't have believed them but they showed her their tattoos, exactly the same as hers, and a few shifted to animals in front of her.

They helped her release her inner animal, and become a shifter. It took her a long time to learn how to control her shifting, but now she is good at it.
