Vladimir Dimitreu was born the eldest of the two Dimitreu brothers in Romania in the late 9th Centrury. The Dimitreu family was the most known name in Romania and Vladimir and his brother Theodor were to be raised as princes of their country, one day Vladimir was to become king and to rule the land which his parents had ruled for the past half century. As a young child Vladimir was a confident and adventurous soul who enjoyed participating in physical activities such as fencing and sword fighting from a young age, he could also often have been described as somewhat arrogant and overconfident but Vladimir had a good heart underneath his cocky front, he cared for his younger brother Theodor and for others around him who served him.

As Vladimir grew older he would come to learn of a secret that his parents had been keeping, not just from him and his brother but also from the entire of the country who they served, the truth was that his parents were not humans, they were a species called Initia, meaning they could control the elements such as water, earth, fire and air, his father had even assumed the role of a ‘Magister’ which meant that he lead the tribe of Initia which resided within Romania. Shocked as he held his mother’s journal in both hands as they began to shake and as they did the book caught fire, afraid by what he had done Vladimir had dropped the book and ran backwards as the bedside table had caught fire. Vladimir didn’t know what was happening and he ran through the castle trying to find his parents or his brother but the entire castle was beginning to catch fire and he was afraid that his presence would only cause the fire to worsen so he ran to the gardens and gathered with the others who had escaped the building and waited.

Four hours later when the blaze had finally been tackled and smoldered out he was still waiting, tears pooled in his eyes as he stared at the blackened remains of his home hoping that his mother and father would reappear and encase their arms around him but they never did, they were gone and it was his fault. Vladimir was destroyed by the guilt of what he did, he couldn’t tell anyone that the fire had been his fault, he knew that his country would have him tried for treason, he showed to their funerals along with his brother and he wept over their grave for the longest time as he confessed to his brother what had happened. Theodor comforted his brother explaining how he too had experienced unexplainable control over the element of air, he could move things just by willing the air to push them along.

After the country grieved for their lost King and Queen the time came for the coronation of a new King, Vladimir had expressed how bad of an idea he thought it would be to select him for the throne but he couldn’t deny that he was the next in line to the throne and therefore was coronated the new King of Romania on his 18th Birthday. Vladimir suppressed his elemental control over fire the same way that his parents had, he chose not to reveal what he was and not to question the strange tattoos which lined his back which he couldn’t explain. Vladimir was a strong ruler, he cared for his country for many years and with time gained the trust of his kingdom, he got by knowing that his brother would always be there for him to fall back on and with time the pain of his parent’s deaths became bearable enough for him to survive.

Being the King gave Vladimir access to information he had never been privy to as a child, he was assigned both a Fae and a Necromancer advisor whom could help him with problems which money could not solve and with time he collected information on all of the supernatural species there were in the world, the information fascinated him and with time he came to discover that unlike his parents he was not an Initia, he was a rare deviation of the species named a Phoenix, capable of far more complicated execution of fire and even the possibility of flight, the information was both fascinating and terrifying, Vladimir knew he never wanted to risk anyone dying at the hands of his flames again but he also wanted to be able to embrace what he was, it was a part of him and it could help him to become a better ruler, so he took to solitary training and in time he would learn to gain control over his fire abilities and had even learned to control his burning Red and Silver wings to fly.

Vladimir ruled the country for a long period of time without hiccup, he felt like he was finally piecing his life back together and then tragedy struck, Theodor whom had taken over the role of the Magister in place of their father had been assassinated by an unknown suspect, his brother, who had always stood by him and been the only tether who had been holding him to the ground for many years was dead, Vladimir can still remember the fear and panic he had felt as he had rushed upon horseback to where his brother had been slain and knelt by his side his tears streaming from his eyes and onto the lifeless body of his brother. Furious Vladimir had called his Necromancer advisor, Ava to him and pleaded that the woman bring his brother back to him, he knew he would owe her a great debt for doing so but he couldn’t live without his brother, he refused to. Ava had agreed to bring Theodor back and they took him back to the castle where he was revived.

Vladimir and his brother grew closer once again, he was glad to have him back and did his best to keep his brother better protected from threats in the outside world, the times were cruel and there were many who wished to see the young King and his family dead. With time Vladimir came to have feelings for the Necromancer who had saved his brother’s life and after a period of courting and growing closer Ava would become his Queen, together they ruled the kingdom for another 10 years.

The happiest moment of Vladimir’s life so far came in the form of two little words uttered from his beautiful wife’s mouth “I’m pregnant” she had spoken as he had twirled her around in his arms, he was going to be a father and he was going to serve his child right, he would make sure that they always knew what they were and understood that it was okay to be frightened and burdened by what they could do but that it also made them special. 9 months later his son Gabriel was born, a necromancer who had the eyes of his mother and the devilish grin of his father’s, the young family had blissful years together as his son grew older and he made sure not to miss a single moment of his son’s future, he gave him the life of a Prince.

However a dark cloud always seemed to follow Vladimir’s life around and when his son had turned 10, Ava had fallen ill with an incurable disease, he had wanted to search down another Necromancer to protect her life and ensure she could stay with him but it wasn’t what she wanted, the Necromancer had always been one to believe in the ways of fate and knew that her own had now been written and so after 3 months of fighting with the illness she passed on leaving Vladimir and his son alone. Vladimir struggled with Ava’s death, he locked himself away from the world and began to push aside his duties to the country and those who mattered to him, even his usual walls he put up couldn’t hide the despair he felt.

It was then that Vladimir had made his final decision to leave, he couldn’t stand staying in the castle any longer or even the country any longer, his people didn’t deserve someone like that as their ruler and so he and Theodor planned and carried out a scheme to fake Vladimir and Gabriel’s death, leaving the kingdom to the next heir in line, Vladimir’s uncle and then the three of them left for America, Vladimir Dimitreu had died and been reborn with a new face and he, his brother and his son would look for a new start in America, together they travelled overseas on a ship however before they found their way to the shores of the continent they came across a misted island which seemed to appear from nowhere.

The island they would later learn was the Isle of Skye, a land which was protected by the most powerful of magic, the kind that could keep out anyone with ill intentions from entering and it’s inhabitants were the dragons, powerful creatures blessed by the Gods with control over elements he had never even fathomed, the whole idea fascinated him and the people behind those masks served a cause, a cause to create a world where everyone could be treated equally regardless of their species, the same lessons he had tried to teach his son from the moment he had been born.

Vladimir had made his decision to stay with the Ailward Aspects, him, Theodor and Gabriel would become their first members of the guard and would help them with their decisions, he was sent out on many an assignment for the guard where he would help to bring in those who were risking the peace to the world and then allow the aspects to decide their fate, he found the aspects all to be just and fair and each of them were interesting to be around and he was grateful to them for bestowing immortality amulets upon his brother and his son meaning that they could all live alongside one another without fear of time catching up on them and this notion set Vlad at ease, his biggest fear was losing those he cared for most and thanks to the Ailward aspects, that was a fear he could push aside, serving them was a small price to pay for such a privilege.

Vladimir met Octavia when he was out on assignment, he was tracking a species named the Dragonkin, a sultry species who served little purpose on the earth other than to cause terror and fear, the guard had been hunting down and containing the Dragonkin for several years and this time he found them attacking a Nephilim, he had run into the scene and used his power over fire to create a barrier between the two vicious creatures and the stunning blonde whom they had been attempting to kill just short moments ago. The Dragonkin had fled the scene before he had the chance to capture them both but he made Octavia his priority rushing to her side “Are you kidding me, I totally had them” the fiery blonde had stated as she had pulled herself to her feet unfurling her beautiful white wings behind her back.

Octavia joined the guard when she discovered that they were targeting the Dragonkin the same way she was and she knew that working in a group was going to make her better progress towards her goal than going it rogue. Vladimir and Octavia served many an assignment together and eventually managed to almost entirely stop the Dragonkin from being able to do any further damage to world, from day one they had made a surprisingly good team despite all of their differences. It took many years for them to admit that they had fallen for each other, especially Vladimir as he found it hard to admit to himself that he was able to move on from his first love, Ava. With time the two came to date and eventually were engaged and married by Venetus, Argent gifted them both with amulets as their wedding present, they allowed the two to speak with one another through their minds for as long as they both wore them.

Octavia and Vladimir later had a daughter together whom they named Illiana, she was born a Nephilim and was the spitting image of a younger version of her mother, Illiana was raised on the Isle of Skye but she was regularly allowed to leave and to explore the world with her parents and her half brother. Vladimir had many a demon in his life but the guard had saved him and he would serve it with his life, it had gifted him with his brother, his son and later the love of his life and a beautiful daughter. As one of the eldest guards Vladimir has taught many of it’s members from the ground up and assumes a somewhat fatherly relationship with a lot of the members, he has never cared much for what species others are, he treats all equally the same way they do him.
