Things were flying around the aspects of deaths room creating an even bigger mess then before. Ery wasn’t exactly known to be tidy. He mostly slept during the day and drank during the night. The guards sent in people to clean empty bottles and do laundry every now and then but it didn’t take long before the sloppy aspects room was a new mess. However lately there had been slight change. The broody male hadn´t been quite as self isolating. He still drank more than recommended and curled up in his room morning lost loves but every now and then he left his room and interacted with the rest of the world. The aspect of death had also started to guide the souls back. After they had fixed the veil keeping the souls from Earth and returning Crane.
”Where the hell is it?” Erythreus grunted as continued to throw his belongings all over the room creating a big pile of clothes and stuff. ”Aureus!!! Have you seen my ring?” He asked his brother the boss of the household. He described where he had seen it last, in a box in a drawer and got the reply that it had probably been donated to charity during the clean up. Another grunt filled the aliward maner as Erythreus heard this and a row of curse words. The now furious aspect stormed out of the manner without further explanation, leaving the rest of the faction wondering what had made the death ruler lose it once again.
Ery jumped on his motorcycle and drove off without any clear destination, still seeing red unable to think clearly. It was uncharacteristic of him to care for objects. Over the years he had learned that material things didn’t matter much it was easily replace. His staff was the only thing he really needed. The lost ring had been laying in a drawer for months so it wasn’t something the aspect wore daily. It wasn’t a family heirloom or made out of gold. It carried some of Erythreus’s memories. His best and worst decisions, his greatest and most hurtful moments. In the wrong hands it could hurt the balance of the supernatural world so he really needed it back, but how? Had the person taken it realized its value or was it in some kind of charity store somewhere around the world?
His mind spun as he guided the motorcycle around the woods the wind pulling his clothes and the roaring from the engine echoing in the silent night. His fury had eased making it easier to think. He recalled why he had made someone transfer the memories into the ring. A foolish idiotic thing he realized now. He’d done it during one of his darkest days. After another heartbreak when it felt like the earth was on his shoulders and he couldn’t bear all the hurt, all bad decisions with the celestials. Erythreus had been with many women but only a handful had meant something and none of them had been his to keep. Pictures of the women the aspect of death had seen a future with started to project before his eyes. Then his mind wandered to a woman he just meet. Another kind cheerful blonde maybe the answer to his problem. He turned the bike around and steered towards the archives.
”Hello to you too” Erythreus greeted her answering her smile. ”Whoa there Elope the world isn’t crashing at least not yet” He chuckled, calming her being that her mind had already started spinning. ”I need help finding a magic object” he admitted hoping she had time to help him.
Erythreus understood the blondes initial reaction. They all had lived in a world tipping on the edge for a while. With constant new threats with the potential to end the world. It had been hard on all the supernatural. Making it hard to not to react like every little problem was life and death. ”Yeah I heard about that” The aspect mumbled. Siobhan had been a good friend of him and even more, and Dominic was like his brother. He had lost contact with her after their love story ended and she and chosen his best friend and guard. He was ashamed that he hadn’t handled that better. Dominic and the nephilim deserved all the happiness in the world. However she had been one of many women who hadn’t chosen him. The overthinking male regretted that he had let his pride and hurt gotten in the way of being a decent friend. He should’ve been there with Dominic and Siobhan to help, but that was in the past all he could do was do better from now on and not continue to isolate and drown his rejections and failures in booze.
”Yeah suiting I think” He laughed making the wrinkles around his eyes more prominent. ”Isn’t that what you do here partly” he asked his hand gestured around the room filled with all kinds of magical stuff. ”Eloping from the world” His tone was light and friendly. The broody male was a good reader of people even tho he was a bit rough around the edges. He had gotten the feeling that Penelope like himself didn’t come out much and stayed in her safe space with a tight group of friends.
Ery laughed again. It was nice to do so, he didn’t get to do it a lot. Death was often tragic and didn’t bring many laughs. ”I think I am almost too good at that already” he joked. ”It would give the poor guards a stroke if I managed to disappear more often than I do now, even tho I always let them find me eventually” He winked amused. It was one of his latest hobbies to vanish from the manor without anyone noticing so he could drink and be miserable alone. He left the speakers blasting out heavy metall music making everyone believe he was still crawled up in his room while he in reality had left the manor.
”I am quite confident it’s not here and has been made untraceable” He said frowning as he tried to remember more about the ring and who had put a spell on it for him. Enabling him to transfer his memories and store them. He had been given the ring by an old woman many years ago and was told that it was powerful object that could store happy memories reminding a spouse of all the good moments whenever things got hard or when away from one another. He was planning on proposing with it but he had never gotten the chance to. After getting dumped once again he didn’t want to see it or remember all the women he had given his heart to. However he couldn’t bare to toss it either so he had put it away along with his memories.
”Excuse me what?!” The aspect asked annoyed. ”I need to fill out a forum to leave with MY ring? Wait that gives me an idea, maybe it’s just a human trying to make money off of it and has put it up for sale online” His voice sounded hopeful. Could it for once not be more complicated?
