Since living in Evermore; It had taken Maddison to try and find some sort of a purpose now that the Aurazin couldn’t return back to the veil and were stuck on earth. For the first few weeks, she felt lost and confused. Being among the living, was somewhat overwhelming and Maddie didn't really trust a handful of people; aside from the Aurazins who were her family, and the Ailwards, who were on their side and trying to help them. Whilst, it would make their job of helping those in need, a lot easier. Maybe it was the fact that she had made peace with being dead for the last 7 years. Now the entire faction was trying to somehow fit among the living. In a city full of Supernaturals, with unexpected happenings no less. But like the rest of her faction, she had somewhat trying to adjust and get used to everything. Including all mortal necessities, like the need to eat, sleep ect. It took a little bit of time, but now she found a healthy sleeping pattern, to say the least. Food, as much as she loved food; sugary things, she had a hard time avoiding. It was an old weakness of her as a human, and now as an Aurazin...it worked against her...sugar making her weak, even if it tasted delicious.
Not knowing how long they would be in Evermore. Maddison had found herself a job. A new gift store had opened up in the city. Selling all sorts of cute trinkets, gifts and on occasion some antiques. The Aurazin needed a change of pace, after her previous jobs in her human life. And this seemed right up her alley. It was somewhat of a new challenge for the female. But one, that she had gladly taken on. Finding that her new job had a slightly slower pace than her previous careers. It left her to go at her own pace, when it came to sorting out stock, when she wasn’t dealing with customers. But since it was a fairly new establishment; it was quite popular during the weekdays. Bit more quieter during the week-end. Between worrying about her store; her bigger worry was her baby brother Hudson, and his lack of initiative to find a new job, like most of their kind. As usual, being the elder sister; Maddison worried over her brother and his own...struggle-some path. As if she didn’t have enough challenges in life already. This just added to it. The pair would argue over it; reminding of her previous siblings spat, when they were human. Sibling love for you.
That morning, Maddison was at the store early; sorting out new stock that had arrived. She was organised as usual; first going through the paper-work to make sure that everything needed had arrived. In case of errors, to see what needed sending back or not. Once she confirmed everything was as it should be, Maddie had begun to unpack the boxes; organising the new merchandise around the store shelves. Luckily, she had another hour and a half, before the store would officially open. The closed sign, still hanging up in the window.
