Siobhan skin still burned making her wonder if she should have sent Dominic in after the protector amulet but he is safe now, she could tell his body was adjusting to the new power that was surging his body. She felt a wave of relief rush over her after all she knew that protectors Amulet was meant to protect the protector when Angels couldn’t. She could have smiled but that smile never came with Jack appearing insult after insult leaving his mouth. She wondered if he was hearing it, or if it was like before but then Dominic stepped in front of her, in a protective manner as if to stand up for her vertue.
When Dominic swung at Jack she almost want to explain that he couldn’t hit him until he did. “What the hell.” Siobhan said softly as she watched the figure of Jack step back from them almost falling over. She locked eyes with Jack “This isn’t over you bitch.” He said before he was gone from their view. She looked up to Dominic as his gaze returned to hers once again and she smiled wide at him. “That was new but thank you.” She said as she reached out to touch him again but pulled away not wanting to get shocked again. She looked over by where the cave collapsed in and then looked back to him as he pulled his shirt over his head her eyes lingered on his body blushing of the thoughts of the night before that she had to push away.
She waited for him to come back chewing on her bottom lip as he surfaced once again explaining his plan she groaned at the fact they would lose the bags but knew it was about getting out that mattered, even though she didn’t want to get back in the water her flesh was healing but still red but she nodded putting on a brave face “Alright let’s do this.” she said as she walked to the bag pulling out her father's necklace placing it around her neck once again and tucked the light sword in her waistband of her pants before walking back to the water diving back into it. She groaned in pain from the burning as it began from the moment she was in the water. She followed him until he was kicking the rocks and then looked around as the release of the wall pulled her and him through it.
As she took a few big gulps of air her eyes widen at his words, Wings come on wings. she thought as she closed her eyes and pulled them open, She screamed out as she went over the fall but her wings caught the air and as she tried to flap she slowed her fall but still fell nonetheless. Hitting the water as she groaned out she swam her way to the surface and coughed hard as the water was in her lungs burning. As she turned making her way to the shore not able to call back to him but she knew he would follow her. She crawled a shore coughing on her hands and knees as she shivered against the cold and laid on the ground rolling over as she closed her eyes trying to regain her vision. Once she regained herself she took deep breaths feeling him over her. “I’m okay, I’m okay.” She repeated as her blue eyes opened to meet his Hazel ones, her flesh bright red.
She shot up and took hold of him even though it stung she didn’t let go “are you okay?” she asked as she looked him over not seeing a scratch on him. Her arms came around his neck as she hugged him close “Don’t let me go into a cave again.” She said as she held onto him not letting him go as she closed her eyes tightly as she pressed her shivering nose against his neck “I am so done with these woods here.” She almost could laugh and yet it just came out as a shiver. She felt his arms circle around her and pick her up off the ground thankful for his strength right now because she was feeling weak, weaker than ever as he carried her. She shivered against him as he tried to warm her up, she was becoming numb from the winter air and wet clothes.
Next thing she knew he was placing her in the truck as he climbed in she moved from his lap to sit beside him as she pressed her body against his still her teeth chattering. “My body is shutting down.” She said between her teeth clinking together. She shivered harder, she need to get out of these wet clothes and warmed. “We need to go back home.” She said before she pulled off her shirt. “I need to get warm.” She repeated. “Fire, body heat.” She could feel her head spinning as her body was shutting down. She reached for her pants to undo them but the blackness took over her mind as her body went limp next to his.
Dominic caught sight of her as she began crawling out of the water and fell on her back, laying on the dirt. He quickly swam through the ice cold currents to the shoreline and moved above her at the same moment she wrapped her arms around his neck. "I'm fine," he breathed out, letting his eyes scan her body for injuries. Siobhan's lips were chattering and she was shaking from the cold. They needed to move to heat and fast. He hated the idea of hurting her, but there didn't seem to be another choice again. Gathering her in his arms, Dominic thought about tossing the necklace altogether if it meant not causing her any more pain.
As he moved a bit further in the woods, Dominic actually knew where they were. It had never occurred to him before that the falls they had just come from could ever be connected to an unseen cave with magical properties, no less. It also meant they weren't that far from the truck. Within a few minutes, they had reached the familiar embankment which she had tumbled down that seemed like a lifetime ago. It was a good thing too because he wasn't sure how much more strength he had left in him. The cold was beginning to constrict his muscles as they remained in their soaking wet clothing.
Dominic quickly opened the driver's side and slid inside with Siobhan still in his lap. As she readjusted herself next to him, he turned the truck on and slammed down the gas pedal, spinning the wheel to make a u-turn in the street towards home. When he saw she was taking her shirt off, he yanked the pendant from around his neck and tossed it on the dash. "We'll be there soon," he said, trying to comfort her as he pulled her against his bare chest and wrapped his free arm around her. His eyes were glued to the road as he concentrated on getting to his house as fast as possible. He suddenly felt her slumping down and saw she was passing out. "Shit!"
Within a couple of minutes, they were pulling back up the dirt road to his property. He took the necklace and put it in the pocket of his wet pants and then carefully picked her up to carry her inside. Placing her down on the couch, Dominic quickly moved to start a fire. When the flames had finally engulfed the wood, he changed into a pair of sweatpants and tossed a few of his blankets on the floor. He moved back over to the couch as saw her lips were starting to turn blue. "Are we ever going to have a normal fucking day, Parker?" he said aloud, as he picked her back up in his arms and moved towards the fireplace. He laid her down and then sat himself, carefully removing her pants. He pulled Siobhan into the fetal position in between his legs and against him before wrapping the blankets around them both. The flames were giving enough heat that Dominic could feel the difference immediately. That familiar tingling feeling you would get when moving from cold to hot began spreading through his body. He let his hands rub over her arms and legs in attempts to get her blood flowing properly, though he couldn't help but feel the worry creeping in as he rocked back and forth gently. "Come on, Wáptasyi. Wake up for me..."
Siobhan had entered the dark recesses of her mind when her body shoot down. It was as if she was standing in a black hall chasing something that couldn't be seen, She ran and ran as she reached out to the figure in all white. "Hello!" She called out, when she caught the figure it was an all white version of herself, She stood looking at the figure as it reached touch touching her and then went from white to black as ichor poured from the visions of her mouth and eyes. "You corrupted me, you made me weak! FIX ME!" the figure hissed out before fading away as Siobhan backed up she ran into a vision of Dominic as he turned her around he smiled to her"Are we ever going to have a normal fucking day, Parker?" before he leaned in kissing her forehead "Come on, Wáptasyi. Wake up for me..." That smile, that smile he gave her slightly approving slightly amused that smile could get her through even the darkest of times.
Siobhan body was warming up from his body heat along with the fire as her shivers against him slowed, her eyes slowly drifted open as she groaned out looking up to him "are you going to ever tell me what that word means." She asked as her blue gaze locked with his Hazel ones as she smiled weakly her body curling closed to his as her blue lips pressed to his chest and she noticed she didn't feel a stinging, her eyes looked not seeing the necklace "Where is your protectors necklace? I didn't almost die once again to have you not wearing it." she scolded him slightly but kept her naked body pressed to his. She moved in his arms her arms wrapping around him as she pressed her cold fingers to his side soaking in his warmth. "I don't know if we will ever have a normal day." she answered his question from before as she buried her face into his shoulder. "But as long as I am with you I know I am safe., and that I will always make it through." She muttered softly before her lips pressed a kiss to his shoulder, up his neck feeling his hands tighten on her naked frame before finally her lips met his once again, linger against his lips for a long time, moving slowly with his, as the fire crackled in the background she reluctantly pulled back slightly rubbing her nose against his.
She stayed quiet enjoying that normal moment of two people wrapped up in each other even if getting there had been an odd way, they were still there holding on to each other, she wondered if he was holding her because of the fear that one day she may not survive the shit she was going through hell it was a thought that often ran through her mind about him, and every moment they could be like this, a slice of normal was more then enough to make up for all the craziness that consumed their life. She ran her thumb along his cheek bone as she kept her forehead pressed to the other cheek. She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat, wondering if what she was about to say could ruin this moment they were having, but it need to be said "I am going back to the silo tomorrow to raise Jack. I have plenty of the antitoxin, but I think you should hang back, I can't have you getting hurt again, not over me. Not because of him. I will raise him and exercise him from this plane after I get answers." she could feel his body tense up as she told him her plan, to go back to the place that held her darkest of memories in order to bring back the man who caused those memories, she didn't dare look at him willingly knowing he must be angry about her plan.
A smile spread across his face as he heard her softly speak. He put his face down on the top of her head and breathed her scent in before speaking. "No," he teased to her question of the Native nickname, squeezing her slightly. As her hands grabbed on to him, he let out a sigh of relief. "The necklace is safe. Don't worry." Her next words hit him hard as he let them sink in. Hearing that she felt safe with him gave him more drive to keep her from getting hurt. Maybe this was what being a Protector was all about. When her lips traced his shoulder and moved to his mouth, he deeply kissed Siobhan, wanting to show through it how much he did care.
As the silence fell around them when she pulled away, his gaze moved to the fire. His thoughts went back to the cave and how Jack had appeared to both of them. Having the necklace was definitely a game changer and if he was able to hurt Jack, that meant he would find a way to kill him and rid them both of his existence... again. If it were up to him she wouldn't even be around when this showdown finally happened. Dominic wasn't sure if it was something he would come back from, but he was okay with that. He was okay with making sure someone like Siobhan lived if it meant he wouldn't. Maybe it would make up for the mistakes and choices he made for his mostly miserable life.
It looked like they were both thinking along the same lines as she broke the quiet in the room and told him she planned on going to bring that demon back by herself. Dominic's face hardened as his eyes stayed on the flickering flames. "No." That was all he said in his husky voice, but the finality of it was nothing to be argued against. As much as he wanted to go to the silo alone, he knew he couldn't. They needed to do it together. They would be stronger for it. "Where you go, I go. That's the whole purpose of my role as your Protector," he said firmly after a moment's silence that broke through the heaviness. His eyes softened as they found hers, trying to speak words he could never say out loud.
"He's right you know." Dominic's head spun around and he saw Billie Mae standing behind them, casually pulling a bit of lint from her sweater. The woman's gaze fell on them and she let out an exaggerated sigh as her eyebrows furrowed, apparently seeing them there for the first time. "Honestly, do you ever have clothes on?!" He rolled his eyes and let Siobhan go, wrapping the blankets around her naked form before standing up.
"We got the necklace," he said, ignoring her comment and walking over to his wet jeans which were still in a heap on the floor. He pulled the item out and walked over to the psychic holding it up to her.
Billie Mae smiled and nodded her head. "Yes, yes, I felt it leave the cave and saw you take a nasty spill. Figured I'd better come over and see if you were at least alive still." The woman's eyes never left the artifact.
Dominic folded his arms over his chest. "Well, how kind of you." His sarcasm wasn't left unnoticed and Billie's eyes squinted up at him. She laid a heavy hand on his face, giving it a couple of reassuring smacks with a smile before heading over to the kitchen.
"I'll put on some tea. Why don't you get the young lady something to put on there, Nicky, and we'll talk about getting rid of Jack once and for all?" Dominic grumbled at the nickname, which she knew he absolutely hated. He headed over to his bedroom and grabbed two of his t-shirts from a drawer before helping Siobhan to her feet as she was completely wrapped from head to toe in the blankets. From the look on her face, he knew she was going to make a joke about the nickname and gave her a look of his own that told her to not even dare as he put one of the shirts on. When she smiled up at him, he moved some hair away from her face and kissed her forehead. He then watched as she shuffled to his bedroom to change.
He walked over to Billie Mae as she busied herself in the kitchen, knowing exactly where everything was kept. He was more convinced she had cameras hiding in his home than it being because she was a psychic Diviner. "You know, she was more naked than me." Dominic was expecting her to come back with a clever quip, but the woman remained silent as she poured the hot water into the mugs. This worried him greatly as he watched the seriousness in her face. "What is it?"
Billie Mae turned to face him finally and kept her gaze low after peering behind his back, no doubt, to make sure Siobhan wasn't there. "I had a vision..." Dominic sighed and swallowed the building lump in his throat.
"And?"
The woman lifted her eyes up towards his and he could see the tears that were building inside of them. "I saw you die."
Siobhan wanted to argue with him but his husky pleads along with his soft gaze that met hers caused her to be unable to speak, it was as if he was trying to say words he couldn’t say himself, she searched his gaze hers almost begging him to tell her what was going through that mind of his, what he wanted to say to her. She opened her mouth to ask him what was on his mind but nothing came out for she jumped in Dominic's arms as another voiced had joined them, Billie Mae. “You know you could use a door.” Siobhan heart pounded in her chest as she laughed actually getting scared by Billie Mae’s sudden appearance.
As Dominic pulled away from Siobhan naked body wrapping the blanket around her she chuckled and looked down blushing bright red at Billie Mae’s remark “He is rather clothed.” She muttered softly and then watched Dominic pull the necklace from his pants and winced slightly looking to it remembering how it felt to touch him with it around his neck. “Still alive, banged up but alive.” She chuckled to Dominic as he replied in such a sarcastic manner to Billie Mae. But watching the older woman it was as if the mood in the room was not like before.Something was going on and Siobhan felt as if Billie Mae was trying to get her out of the room.
Though Siobhan couldn’t help but smirk at the nickname that left Billie Mae lips, as Dominic returned into the room picking her up on the floor making sure she could hold herself up before she looked to him biting back the snicker as he shot her a look. She smiled softly to him as one hand kept the blanket around her as her other one took the shirt he handed her, feeling his strong fingers gently move her hair from her face leaning down kissing her forehead, She gave him a sleepy smile, before she shuffled off to his room.
She pulled the shirt on over her naked body along with a pair of her sleep pants that were in the bag that laid in the floor of his room. She took off her father’s necklace looking to the symbol running her finger over it and felt a shock and pulled her hand back off laying it down. Was her father's necklace a protectors pendent also? She thought to herself as she frowned deeply before making her way back to the kitchen wondering if she had given them enough time to talk. When she walked out she looked to the teary eyed Diviner and raised and eyebrow "Everything okay?" She asked as she walked over and picked up one of the mugs swallowing the hot liquid and groaned at the warmth as it filled her. When neither of them answered and moved away from her she raised en eyebrow but sat at one of the chairs.
Siobhan gaze locked with Dominic's gave him a big smile, it was clear she had no idea what was going on. “We got the protectors amulet, so Dominic will be safe.” She said and smiled gently to him before looking back to Billie and cleared her throat “Let's drink some tea, then I think Dominic and I should go to bed big day raising a demon and exorcising him and all tomorrow.” She said as she took a slip of the hot liquid and sat “Dominic mentioned you may have a plan for this?” She asked as she pulled one of the random papers closer flipping it to the blank side.
“The books in my head say I should place his body in the center of this symbol and release the Ichor from my system back into him giving him life but making it so he can’t leave the center of the symbol, after that nothing, it as if I am to leave him trapped there and move on but I don’t want him coming back after me again. Not with what he said to us in the cave. He said that Lucifer wishes to make me his bride.” She said as she looked to Billie Mae and then leaned back in the chair as she scoffed "As if I would marry the king of hell." She shook her head as she took another sip and looked between them again "Okay, tell me what is going on you guys tend not to be this quiet." She said looking to Billie then to Dominic her blue eyes hung on to his as she arched an eyebrow to him.
Dominic felt his mouth fall slightly from the words Billie Mae had spoken to him. He turned away from her and leaned against the sink. Despite having thought the possibility of dying was there, it was nothing like having it confirmed to you by a powerful psychic. He felt instantly nauseous, but swallowed the emotion quickly. If this was to be his end, then let it come. He had made peace with the idea of losing his life for this cause already. His gaze came up from the floor and looked to Bilie Mae. "Don't tell her..." The woman scrunched her features as if she didn't understand his request, but he kept his eyes steady on her. She was undoubtedly about to give her opinion, but he interrupted. "Please. She will be distracted and we can't afford that. We have to do this right, Billie. Don't tell her."
The bedroom door opened and Siobhan came back across the cabin towards them. He heard her speaking, but everything was in a fog as his mind was still processing how he was going to leave her. It would hurt her for a while; him being gone, but she was strong. She would move on. She would be resilient. He would do what he was meant to do as her Protector up until he could do no more. Dominic wondered who the next in line would be to train and make Siobhan even more powerful than before. Perhaps there would be some way to still watch over her...
When the room suddenly went quiet, Dominic's eyes finally took focus on Siobhan who had finished talking. She was sitting at the table with her tea and looking at him with a questioning gaze. He wanted to say everything was okay. Nothing had changed. They were going to raise Jack, kill him, and be rid of all these problems for good, never seeing Lucifer. The words wouldn't come.
"Oh, nothing, Dear, just getting our heads in the game," Billie Mae finally chimed in as she grabbed her mug and walked over to the kitchen table. She touched the paper Siobhan had been writing on and nodded. "Yes, yes, I've seen this symbol. We'll raise him and while the transfusion of ichor is taking place, I will keep Jack bound there with a bit of my Diviner magic that will restrain him. When the ichor has been transferred successfully, that will be Dominic's cue to finally end him." Billie's eyes drifted over to him and he caught their sadness as he looked back at her. "Now with the Protector's necklace on our side, he'll be able to kill Jack for good." Dominic gave a short nod and folded his arms against his chest, staying quiet. With a sigh and a smile that Dominic knew was forced, Billie Mae rolled up her sleeves and stood back from the kitchen to give herself some space. "As you said, get some rest. You're going to need it for tomorrow. We're going to end that bastard once and for all." She winked at Siobhan and then looked at him for a brief moment, catching the hint of emotion she was holding back before disappearing.
A silence fell over the house and he was still leaning against the counter having not said a word. If this was to be his last night on Earth, it wouldn't be to hold back anything. His arms dropped and his eyes found hers. Within a few steps he closed the distance between them and pulled her from the chair. His eyes searched hers as he tried to remember every speck of purple tint that enhanced her natural blue hues. He would never see them again soon enough... Cupping her cheek, Dominic lowered his lips on hers gently, but it would only last a few moments. He buried his hand in her hair and hungrily kissed her as his tongue found hers. Putting an arm under her leg, he lifted Siobhan and carried her over to the counter. He moved from her mouth to the top of her neck and pulled his borrowed t-shirt over her head so he could continue to trace along her collarbone. As his hands wandered over her skin, Dominic pulled her against him roughly. He yanked his shirt off and picked Siobhan up once again, making his way to the bedroom where he wasn't sure he could be as careful with her as he was before.
Siobhan gaze pulled from Dominic as he was being rather quiet not chiming in to the plan to Billie Mae who was speaking about her Diviner power coming into play. She hated the fact both of these people she cared about were going to be in the silo with her, it was a risk of them getting hurt she didn't want to take but she knew she wasn't strong enough to do this on her own. "alright then we have a plan at least." She said as she watched Billie Mae make her hasty escape with out her giving Dominic shit about something. She moved her gaze back to him leaning her head to the side in a questioning manner but she didn't have a moment to as anything as he closed the gap between them. he picked her up from the chair with his strong hands as they held her arms.
Her heart beat hummed in her chest, something was off but the moment his lips met hers all the thoughts and questions she had were pushed aside, while her eyes fluttered closed. she wanted to believe that he was acting strange because he wanted her and he couldn't take her with Billie in the room. She moaned as the kiss turned from a gentle one to a hungry one, one that was much hungrier then the night before. Her legs wrapped around him as he lifted her in his strong arms as if she weighted nothing. Their tongues moving together before she was sat down on the counter, When he pulled his mouth from hers she whimpered softly as she wanted his mouth again until it was pressed to her neck she groaned as her eyes fluttered open watching him as he pulled the shirt aside and then traced his mouth along her tender flesh her hands wandering up his arm softly feeling him pull her back against him in a rough manner she knew this time was going to be different, he wasn't going to treat her like she would break under his touch, that was both exciting and scary.
Her arms wrapped around his neck as he picked her up once again, her bare chest pressing to his as they moved to the bedroom. Once her back hit the bed she watched him rip aside the last of the fabric keeping them apart. Touching, biting, scratching, moaning, groaning, screaming, the night went hours passed as they made love to each other in a heated fashion rolling over the bed, him breaking the headboard waves of pleasure flowing from each of them and back to the other as they were together.
After hours had passed and they both were weak and couldn't continue they laid there naked twisted holding on to each other, her head rested on his chest as her fingers traced along one of the scratch marks she had left upon his flesh knowing they would be gone in an hour or so, unlike the bite marks he left upon her flesh, she felt his hand traced the bruise on her wrist from where he had pinned her. She took in his scent as she closed her eyes feeling his lips kiss the top of her head. She stayed quiet for a long moment enjoy his soft strokes of his large hand her mind fighting off sleep knowing she ask him about what was going on before she entered the kitchen but she didn't want to ruin this normal moment they were having. She moved her head kissing his chest before looking to him her blue eyes searching his Hazel ones, catching a glimpse of sadness in his eyes. "Hey, are you okay? Things seemed off earlier and you kind of distracted me before I could talk with you."
Dominic lay on his back, looking up at the ceiling as he did every time he was in bed. Usually it was because he couldn't sleep like most nights and let his mind wander to overthinking everything. Tonight was different as he had Siobhan in the crook of his arm against his chest. He held her smaller wrist in his fingers, lightly touching the darkening marks he had made after holding both of her hands down in his one, while using the other to lift her leg and open herself to him. His thoughts went over the passed few hours and their time together. Dominic was glad it was her and not one of the random females in his phone who meant nothing. His eyes watched Siobhan without her knowledge as she lay on his chest. He would keep this in his mind when the time came...
When her head lifted to look at him, his gaze fluttered back to the ceiling at her inquiry. He didn't want to lie, but there was no choice. "Yea, everything's good. All that talk of kicking ass just got me excited." He forced a wicked grin and moved the sheets off his body. Swinging his legs off the side of the bed, he sat there a moment and put a hand through his hair before putting on some sweatpants and starting the fire in the bedroom. "I'll grab us some drinks." As he walked passed, Dominic gave her a wink and headed towards the door. When his foot stepped out of the bedroom, his face fell. He moved about automatically even though his mind was far away. He didn't even realize the water was still running five minutes later. When he came to, he filled two glasses and walked back to the bedroom. As Dominic opened the door, he saw Siobhan had fallen asleep, laying peacefully in the twisted sheets. He walked into the room and sat in the recliner by the fireplace. The flames danced over her bare skin as he watched her till the sun began to rise and he picked up Billie Mae's scent in the other room.
As he walked into the living room, he saw the psychic looking somber. "You haven't slept." Billie Mae said as a statement and not a question. "I couldn't either. I was trying to see all the possibilities that could play out, but everything was leading back to seeing you..." She trailed off and Dominic knew what the last word was that she couldn't say. "Something is blocking me. I can't see after a certain point. I don't..."
"Stop, Billie. It's okay." He moved across the living room and began packing a bag with a few supplies. As he picked up the Protector's necklace, Dominic eyed it momentarily before placing it over his head and letting it hang heavily against his chest. He felt Billie watching him like he was a time bomb that was set to explode at any moment. His gaze slowly went to the psychic, just as her attention was pulled to the bedroom. Siobhan must've been waking up.
It wasn't long before they were ready to go. They all walked to Dominic's truck to save Billie Mae the energy and not teleport to the Silo where Jack's body still remained. The ride was filled with going over every detail of how their plan would unfold. Siobhan would create the angelic rune which would allow the transfusion of ichor to occur. Billie Mae would use her binding magic to help hold him to the circle. Then he would be able to kill Jack once he was human again and be rid of him for good. His life for the demon's. This was to save Siobhan; the only thing that mattered.
As the truck rumbled down the dirt road, the morning sunlight was casting down on the abandoned silo. The events of their last encounter here came back to mind as he lead the way inside. It was eerily quiet and he could pick up on the change in the women's scents as their bodies were reacting to their nerves. When he moved into the room where Jack's decaying body was, Dominic moved to the far side of the room and kept his eyes fixated on the demon. Siobhan couldn't raise him fast enough. The rage he felt from the first time he killed him was filling him again, but when he saw Siobhan walking in and beginning to busy herself with her part of the plan, his emotions moved to sadness. Soon, it would be the last time he'd look upon her.
Siobhan wanted to remember that night, she wasn’t sure how many more times they would have together in the end, she worried that with each passing day he would want to end things. She looked to him as he looked away from her to the ceiling. Something was off with what he was saying but her brain was too foggy with sleep to notice. She nodded softly “Okay as long as you are okay.” she yawned softly groaning when he pulled away becoming cold burying herself under the covers and let out a soft sigh as she buried her face in the pillows. She didn’t even feel herself drift off to sleep but as she slept she had pleasant dreams as things seemed to be falling into place for once, she twisted into the blankets as he back was warmed by the fire he had started in the room. While she slept she moved every so often and as she did he would see other parts of her flesh that hand marks or bite marks were upon as they slowly healed throughout the night.
When Siobhan woke up the next morning she slowly sat up and looked around the room seeing the embers of the fire as she moved and ran a hand through her messy hair, reaching around until she found a shirt pulling it over her head and rubbed her eyes. She noticed the glasses sitting there next to his chair in the room and raised an eyebrow he must not have gotten any sleep sighing heavily she swung her legs over the bed walking out of the room, wanting to give him hell for not getting any sleep with today being such a big day for them, “Dominic you never came to bed?” she asked rubbing her eyes once seeing Billie standing there she blushed “Good morning Ms. Billie Mae.” she mumbled out before turning back around walking back into the room to get ready for the day.
Once she was dressed and ready to leave she walked with them out of cabin to the truck taking the Stele Billie held out to her that her father left for her. “Thank you.” she said as she looked at the magic wand looking item as she could already see the rune she need to draw in her head as if the information was ready for her. They went over the plan a few times and each time, the closer they got to the Silo her heart beat faster and faster.
Once there she walked behind Dominic as she felt eeriness wave over her scared, she tried to push the fears away but she couldn’t she looked to Dominic as he walked away to the far side, Her hands were shaking so bad that Billie had to help her make the angel circle around Jacks lifeless body. looking to Dominic seeing sadness in his eyes. “Hey.” She said softly as she moved over to him getting on the ground with him and pressed her forehead to his as she closed her eyes, “I’m scared.” she admitted to him taking his hand in hers as it rested against her chin, as she took a deep breath. “But I trust you to keep me safe.” she said softly “tell me everything’s going to be okay.” she asked as she kept her eyes closed.
“We need to start Siobhan.” Billie Mae chimed in.
“I believe in you.” she said as she touched his neck her thumb grazing his jaw before running down to the protectors amulet around his neck before pulling away from him and returning into the center of the circle. As Billie lit the last candle and began to chant along with Siobhan a barrier of light went around the circle. She looked down the the dead man who had taken everything from her as she drew the rune on her hand as it burned into her flesh she groaned in pain as she kept the chanting up before drawing the rune on Jack’s lifeless body. She placed her rune hand over the rune on the dead man's chest and a glowing began as she stopped chanting. The Ichor in her system over taking her as she screamed in pain. Billie Mae kept the chant going as the Ichor leaked from her eyes, nose, mouth and ears. She leaned over Jacks body as the ichor dripping over his face came to life once again and moved entering into Jacks mouth. Once all the blackness left her she slumped back releasing Jacks body feeling weaker than ever at first but her body began to heal quicker than ever as she worked on regaining her strength, she tried to stand up put couldn’t at first.
Jacks body began to move, twitching to life as limbs snapped back into place. A bone chilling chuckle left his mouth as he got to his feet “about time you Bitch.” he said as he took hold of Siobhan and pulled her to her feet as she had yet to leave the circle, as her body was adjusting to the new power flowing in her. “Took you long enough you whore.” he said and then shoved her as hard as he could through the barrier causing her body to knock over a few of the items that kept the circle in tack. The barrier fell and he laughed darkly as he looked to his hands “Mmm your Nephilim taste filling me is better the the innocents I took from you, the power such as waste to you.”
Jack was much larger than he was the last time his eyes bright red as he looked to Billie Mae tossing her across the area with a flick of his wrist. “Really thought an old woman could harm me? How stupid are you?” He asked as he picked Siobhan backup by the top of her arm. “Now to take you to Lucifer and get what I deserve.”
“Oh you will get what you deserve.” Siobhan said as she raised her head and her eyes were bright purple again and her wings opened pure white once again and she kicked him in the side flapping her wings to get away from him seeing him stumble back she was going to dive in but she saw Dominic taking over the fight, so she ran over to Billie Mae picking her head up as she looked her over using her angelic powers to heal her and when her eyes shot open she smiled “Hey just rest. I need to help...”
“No honey…” Billie held onto Siobhan hand.
“What?” she asked and then looked over to Dominic and something his eyes, a sinking feeling set in, he was going to get himself killed that was why he had been so weird. “No! No!” she screamed and was off the ground and she moved as fast as she could between them despite Billie trying to stop her hoping that if she didn’t get in the middle of it Dominic’s outcome would be different. But the vision Billie Mae saw was playing out in front of her. When Siobhan got between them Jack’s attention broke, tossing Dominic across the room and turned to her as he reached out wrapping his hands around Siobhan neck and began to choke her “Guess Lucifer is going to be disappointed to lose you. Archangel.” he hissed out.
Siobhan tried to fight him off but blackness over took her mind once again as she went limp in his grasp and Jack let go of her body turning back to the wolf “You’re next.” Siobhan was still breathing it was as if Jack couldn’t fully kill her not with the amulet around her neck, her heartbeat was faint though, to faint for Jack to hear.
When Siobhan came over to him, he wasn't sure he would be able to handle it. Her being this close to him made him lose all resolve on trying to be strong. A part of him just wanted to scoop her into his arms and run away to the far corners of the world to allude all this madness, but he knew there was no escaping. She would die if they didn't do this here and now and time was running out. As her hand ran down his face, Dominic took it in his while she traced it to the necklace and finally stepped away from him. It took everything in him to not pull her back again.
Dominic took several deep breaths and watched as the two women went to work. As the chanting began, he could feel the weight of the magic in the room around them. The ichor began passing between her and Jack's body and he suddenly felt the pulse of the amulet. It was as if the object knew what was coming and was prepping Dominic for the fight. The hairs on his arms and neck rose as a sudden wave of power washed over his body. His gaze followed the leverage that was spreading from his feet up to his head. He closed his eyes and exhaled deeply, but when they shot open again, they had gone pure white as if he was in his Lycan form.
Everything in the room was suddenly making him very aware. His senses had been heightened tenfold and the first thing he saw was Billie Mae go flying backwards. Jack's attention had immediately gone to Siobhan and Dominic couldn't help but grin when he noticed her wings unfold, having gone back to pure white. When she kicked him, he didn't hesitate. Dominic entered the broken circle calmly and punched Jack in the face. There was nothing more appealing to him then landing a disrespectful blow to someone's jaw. The raised demon staggered back and spit the ichor that he'd made him bleed. A smirk played across his face, but it was much larger than any human mouth would be able to produce. Jack laughed maniacally and charged at Dom's mid section, pushing him against the wall. The demon's hand grabbed him by the throat and lifted him with ease off the ground. Ichor began pooling from his fingertips and started entering Dominic's ears and eyes. It didn't feel the same as before. With his new power, it had changed the ichor into a burning sensation that felt like his insides were disintegrating into ash. This must've been what Billie Mae had seen in her vision. This was how he was going to die.
As he began to lose consciousness, Dominic felt the demon's grip loosen and then he was flying across the room. His back slammed against the wall and he slumped to the ground next to Billie Mae. Her voice began whispering close to his ear and he realized she was performing a spell. It was the incantation that allowed Dominic to restore his health. There was a slight tingling that began to fill his body and he knew it was the workings of the magic. He had witnessed this spell once before when Billie had attempted it on her son, long after he'd died. Dominic's eyes opened and he saw the psychic was now on her knees, trying to pull him to sit up. "He's here..." As he looked to Billie, Dominic had assumed she was talking about Jack, but her eyes were glued to something across the room that he was not seeing. The woman turned to look at him and there was a pleading in her eyes. "Don't do anything stupid, Dominic Howlett."
As his confusion set in, he looked across the room and noticed a man was standing in the doorway acting as if everything in front of him was completely normal. His all white suit was in stark contrast to the dirty silo they were in as most of them were even covered in ichor. Dominic's eyes went back to Billie, but he saw she was frozen in the spot. "What the...?" He scrambled backwards and looked around the room. Jack was staring at him with malice and was in midstep, but not moving just as Billie. Siobhan was laying on the floor and seemed to be unconscious. He began to make his way to Siobhan, but the man put a hand up signaling him to stop.
"She'll be fine." The stranger stepped further into the room nonchalantly and smiled at Dominic. The power of the necklace was immediate. It began pulsing when the man moved closer to him and everything about it was telling him to run. "That little trinket there is pretty powerful, huh?"
"Who are you?" Dominic didn't have time for games and he certainly needed some serious answers as to how time had suddenly seemed to stop, but not affecting either of them.
The man smirked and put his hands behind his back. He started circling the room as he spoke, his eyes falling to Siobhan. "Lovely, isn't she? Very powerful being, but a little rough around the edges. Once she's trained, she'll be incredible. Nigh unstoppable." He bent down next to her and pushed some of the hair away from her face. Dominic moved forward, but the man put a hand up and he was rooted to the spot. "Tsk tsk. Stay, boy. I'm not going to hurt her, doggy, fear not." He stood then and was inches from Dominic's face. The amulet was burning against him now and he knew it had to do with this being in front of him. "I can't hold you here much longer as that necklace will fight me tooth and nail, so let's just be civil for a second while we talk business, hmm?" His body was suddenly his own to control again and the Therian stumbled forward slightly.
"So, are you going to answer my question or are we going to keep up with the grand show?"
The stranger's smile spread some more across his face which gave him an other worldly appearance. "See? This is why I want you by my side too! You literally have no fear, even standing in front of the Devil himself." Dominic's lips parted slightly in surprise and the man seemed to enjoy the shock even more. "Yes, yes, I know, not what you expected. No one ever does and if I were in my actual form, your tiny little brain wouldn't be able to handle its awesomeness."
Dominic scoffed. "Sounds like every other man who's trying to talk a big game to compensate for something else." The man's smirk vanished and before he knew what was happening, Dominic felt his heart constrict in his chest, falling to one knee.
"Please, Mr. Howlett. Let's play nice." The man raised his hand and squeezed, making Dom cry out in pain. "Now, back to business." He began pacing the room again, releasing Dominic from the agony, and making him gasp for breath. "You're going to die," he said matter-of-factly. "That ichor he placed in your body will kill you within a few short hours. It's not the same as last time as I'm sure you've noticed. It's transmuted into a new form even that amulet can't save you from. Sure, you'll live through this and kill Jack, but you'll also perish all the same." As he passed Billie Mae, he turned his nose up at her, rolling his eyes. "Meddling fool." He continued about his path and smiled. "Now, here's the deal. I let you live and you train Siobhan to be powerful, so when I come calling, she'll be the perfect bride for my side."
Dominic placed a hand on his chest as he took deep breaths. "And why the hell would I do that?" He was on all fours, trying to gain his composure.
"Because you don't want to leave her side. You care too much."
"I would die before letting her be with the fucking Devil."
The man let out a chuckle. "Yes, you would, but then some other Guardian would come along and I would make the same deal to them and so on and so forth until one of those weaklings finally agrees. Someone will always make a deal with the Devil, my boy. The question is, can you really let her keep going through the same destruction over and over again as she loses someone else till I get what I want? How many Protectors must I go through? Must she go through?"
Dominic looked up and sat back on his heels. He wasn't seeing many options open. "What about Jack?"
"Kill him." His answer was immediate and without care. "He ruined her innocence." The man spat at the frozen demon. "I'll also be calling on you when needed."
"And what exactly does that mean?"
"Oh, you know... Whenever I need an errand run." Dominic couldn't imagine what on earth the Devil could want from him, but he knew whatever it was wouldn't be good. What choice was there? He couldn't leave her. "There may be a few side effects too."
Dominic's eyebrow raised. "Side effects? From what?"
The man smiled and within a blink of an eye stood next to Dominic, taking his arm, and burning a rune into his inner arm. He winced from the pain and watched as the mark sizzled into his skin and faded from view. "No one will know of what's happened here, so best keep it to yourself." He walked to the doorway where he'd come from and winked towards him. "Be seeing you soon."
The magic holding the others in place faded and Jack was stalking towards him again. The agonizing pain from the ichor had vanished, making the amulet stronger than before. Dominic grabbed Jack and threw him up against the wall. His hand reached around his throat and he squeezed. A sudden murderous chill went up his back which was a feeling he'd never had before. It was pure delight in seeing Jack's life being held in his own hands. He was in control of whether this demon lived or died and it made him smile. The necklace and the rune seemed to pulse at the same time as if fighting for the power to influence Dominic's actions. His grip began to shake as he watched Jack's life disappear, letting his empty body fall to the floor.
Dominic felt a touch on his shoulder and he spun around, grabbing Billie Mae by the throat. She reached for his hand and tried to pull away, but he held on tightly. Her breath was coming out in gasps. He knew he should stop, but watching Jack die was like a drug. He wanted to see it again. A sudden noise made him let go and he turned his attention to Siobhan who was stirring from unconsciousness. When he turned back to Billie Mae, the sudden realization of what he'd done hit him like a punch to the gut. "Billie..."
She shook her head, holding her neck. "Go." Dominic hesitated, but she shooed him away. "Go to her." No one would've known, but Billie had seen the dark red tint in his eyes when he was choking the life from her. She knew something terrible had been done as she watched Dominic pull the waking Nephilim into his arms.
Siobhan was frozen with time when Lucifer came into play, but even frozen in time she could feel his touch as he moved her blonde hair from her face. How could the Devil himself have such a gentle and caring touch? Though she would not remember the moment when she woke his touch was one she thought she had felt before...Could Lucifer had come to her before? When time restarted the touch faded and she remembered nothing of it.
What she did remember where the sounds of growling deep angry growls as her body began to heal itself for the first time in a long time being pure once again it was as if the little strength she had before had returned to her with a kick. The self doubt and pain she was feeling faded as she coughed out, the bruises around her neck fading as she worked on taking deep breaths. Her heart picking up and she went to roll over to pick herself up but his strong arms came around her as he cradled her.
He was alive. “You stupid moronic wolf.” She said raspily as the darkness in the room felt as if it had been lifted and she kept her eyes closed for a brief moment, as he held her for a long moment “I thought I was going to lose you.” she said softly as she raised her hand blindly “I would have never forgiven myself if I would have lost you.” her voice cracked as her hand touched the amulet around his neck which was no longer stinging her “It likes me again.” she said softly.
She pulled his face down to hers by the necklace around his neck as her strength had returned and kissed him long and hard as relief had washed over her. He was alive and here with her, he was real she wasn’t dreaming. Her hand moved to his face as she kissed him her thumb running along his cheek softly before she pulled back slightly “We made it out of this both alive and I am no longer corrupted.” she chuckled against his lips before opening her blue eyes meeting his Hazel gaze with a softness in them “We so deserve a night out.” she chuckled softly at him and no matter how much she wished she could just be in his arms for hours she wanted to leave the Silo go back to his cabin, shower and go out to celebrate the victory. She knew it was a small victory in the grand scheme of things but a victory nonetheless. “What do you say let’s go to town tonight and get smashed.” she said and when he only nodded she sighed softly using his shoulders to pull herself from his arms to stand up.
She whipped the dirt from her hands, leaning down to pick up the stele stuffing it in her boot and standing back up, as her eyes looked over to Jack’s dead body not far from Billie Mae as she just stared at Dominic, “Billie are you okay? You look as if you have seen a ghost.” she said as she looked to Dominic as he pulled himself from the ground standing next to her, he looked taller for some reason as if he was stronger or something. But she shrugged it off to being still light headed and healing. “Let’s go home.” she said placing her hand on Dominic's arm before she looked over to Jack’s body one last time and jumped as it light into flames and looked to Billie as if looking for a sign she did it. But she was quiet as they all moved out of the Silo.
The drive back to the cabin was short and quiet as she watched out the window it was as if she was seeing for the first time taking in the beauty of the dying light as night was coming quickly they had been in the silo longer than she had thought. Once back to the Cabin Siobhan slide from the truck and looked over her black covered clothes and was sure her hair didn’t look much better. She looked over her shoulder to Billie and Dominic as they lingered behind her. “I’m gonna get clean up, If I don’t see you before you poof. I will call you Ms. Billie Mae.” she walked over to the elderly woman taking her hands in hers kissing her cheek “Thank you for all your help.” She said and then kissed the elderly woman's hand before walking inside of the Cabin to leave them to talk.
When she walked into the house she took a deep breath smiling as she walked to the bathroom and smiled as she looked to her reflection even covered in dirt her hair looked more golden, her eyes brighter, and her skin glowing. She chuckled softly as she pulled the clothes from her body looking her body over not a scratch on her flesh other than her few tattoos her brother had given her, and the scars her wings came from. Looking to the palms of her hands the scars there were fading also, A wave of power washed over her and when she looked to her eyes as they glowed purple and she looked to the rune she drew on her hand fade but still felt the power there.
“Runes only the most skilled of Nephilims can make runes appear without a stele and activate them while making them work will fight or just because you want them too.” A male voice said in her head, but it wasn’t her father this time it was someone else , she felt a chill run along her face where Lucifer had touched her even though she didn't remember, She tilted her head to the side and on her hand a rune formed a different one causing light to come from her hand as a ray of sunshine and she smiled wider the voice spoke again “Congratulations Daughter of Michael, you have unlocked your rune ability beautifully, you will no longer need your Stele, though you can still carry it just in case.” he said as Lucifer stood there next to her unseen to her, “Use it wisely, Which I know you will.” he said as he reached out touching her face once again, causing her to turn and look at him with those big blue eyes, he muttered where she couldn't hear "Together we shall rule heaven and hell, Enjoy your time here before I come for you, My beautiful Little Bird." He looked to her longingly touching her cheek and then neck, sighing softly before poofing.
The glowing on her hand stopped and she looked around the room standing alone and yet she felt as if she wasn’t alone a moment ago. She shook her head and chalked it up to the events of the day as she climbed into the shower washing her body off once she was done bathing herself she wrapped the towel around her body walking into his bedroom and her eyes landed on a red dress that laid across the bed and black heels on the floor and she walked over to it and bit her lip and held it up.
It was bolder than anything she had worn and she assumed he had picked it out for her some how and that was why it was laying on the bed. So she got ready and slid the dress on and slid the heels on smoothing down the right side of the dress she took a deep breath and smiled at her reflection as she walked out of the bed room and stood in front of him holding her breath as she watched his reaction to the dress and heels.
A man’s voice filled Dominic’s head “Lovely dress on her isn’t it. Looked better than I thought it would. Red is so her color, Maybe her wedding dress should be red.” With a dark chuckle Lucifer said “Keep her safe doggy or I will make you wish that you were dead.” with that he was gone.
“Thank you for the dress when did you have time to pick it out?” she asked as she looked down to the floor blushing “It’s beautiful.” she said as she looked up to him with a smile as she closed the gap between them, the heels helping close the height gap that was always therebetween them but not by much. “Ready for a night of drink and just having fun, and just being normal?” she asked him as her arm wrapped around his shoulder seeing he had showered as his hair was damp against her arm.
Dominic breathed a sigh of relief as she began waking in his arms. She was alive. He wasn't sure if he would ever be able to move from this spot because all he wanted to do was hold her. As Siobhan pulled him down to kiss her, he felt a rush of desperation wash through him as their lips met. The flashes of what had happened with the devil passed through his thoughts and he squeezed his eyes shut in attempts to make them disappear. As she mentioned them deserving a night out, Dominic nodded with a grin in agreement, still reeling from the images and the sudden weight of what he may have done to stay and keep her safe. He wondered how long it would be until his time would run out and Lucifer would come.
When Siobhan inquired if Billie Mae was alright, his eyes hesitantly met with the psychic's. He could feel his heart constricting from how he'd hurt her. There was nothing he could ever do to make it right and he would punish himself always for harming her. Billie Mae was like his second mother and she'd taken him in like another son. They had only become closer after her own son's death. He would do anything for her and now all he wanted to do was stay away from the shame.
When they arrived back at his house, Dominic nodded to Siobhan as she said she was going to get cleaned up and watched her all the way until she was inside. His eyes met Billie's as she was already looking at him with sadness. "Billie Mae, I'm so sorry. I don't..."
The older woman put her hand up to stop him and he instantly fell silent. "It's nothing. It's over and done with." She touched his arm gently and sighed. "Tell me what happened."
Dominic looked off into the woods and then to the ground, shutting his eyes as he spoke. "I can't..."
Billie huffed and put her hands on her hips. "Boy, if you don't..."
"I CAN'T!!" Dominic hadn't meant to yell and looked back to the cabin to see if Siobhan had heard his raised voice, but it looked like she'd already gotten in the shower. Never once had he raised his voice to Billie. His eyes met hers, pleading; his body slumping in defeat. "I can't..."
Her eyes looked deeper into his own than he would've liked because he knew she could read him like a book. The only person in his life that could. After a few silent moments, Billie spoke. "Whatever deal you made with him won't work out. It will never work out. He is the greatest manipulator that ever walked our realms. Whenever you give in and decide to tell me what the hell is going on, you know where I'll be." Before Dominic even had the chance to respond, Billie was gone.
He walked around the back of the house and into the outdoor shower where he let the hot water run down his body. He watched as the ichor washed away from his skin and wished it could make the rest of his problems do the same. Walking back into the home, Dominic could no longer hear the shower running and assumed Siobhan must be getting dressed. As he was rummaging through one of his hall closets for something other than jeans and t-shirt, the door opened and he saw her emerge. It was the first time he'd ever seen Siobhan in a dress before and it was more than breathtaking. She was beautiful. Just as he was about to ask where she'd gotten the clothing, Dominic realized instantly who did. The voice filled his mind and it took everything in him to not want to pound it against the wall. Lucifer was antagonizing him on purpose. "Get out of my head..."
When Siobhan inquired about the dress, his lips parted slightly as he quickly came up with a lie. "Oh, Billie did me a favor. You deserve it and more." Dominic hated lying to her, but there wasn't much of a choice. She had to stay in the dark. He had to keep her safe. Placing his hands on either side of her face, he lifted it slightly to kiss her on the forehead. Suddenly, his hand began to tremble and he quickly pulled it away, squinting as a pain went striking across his head. He could see Siobhan's concern, but he quickly put on a smile. "I'm okay. Just a bit of a headache. I'm going to change real quick and then we'll go."
He grabbed his clothes and went into his bedroom. When the door was closed, he leaned against it and looked at his hands which were shaking. His breathing was quickening and it felt like what was happening to him back at the Silo when he was watching Jack die. It was like losing control. Dominic took a few deep breaths and pushed it back. Lucifer wasn't going to control him. After changing, he opened the door again and smiled seeing her all over again. "Ready?" He grabbed the keys to his truck and opened the door for her.
